Reviews for Relais Ciavatta Country Hotel

Review 1:We loved the setting, the pool, the informality, and the fact that a fancy dinner buffet was provided for our convenience if we didn't want to drive off the property at night.

Review 2:Just a short distance from the beautiful little hill town of Monte Merano, Relais Ciavatta is also only a few km from the hot springs at Saturnia. Great location, the cabin was spacious, comfortable and clean. The kids felt at home immediately. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. A nice quiet, country location.

Review 3:Family owned - very sweet people The restaurant was amazing... Loved eating outside under the tent, food was delicious, homemade by the owner and his mother. 5 mins from the thermal baths and a small town. We would def stay here again!

Review 4:Everything was ok

Review 5:Excellent landscape, kind people on the reception, very good breakfast, good coverage of wifi, horses around, beautiful view of Montemerano, very close to Saturnia therme.

Review 6:The light in the bathroom was way off center and not adequate and the construction of the cottage was not great.

Review 7:The staff was wonderful and the grounds are beautiful! The breakfast was excellent with an excellent outdoor seating area as well as seating inside.

Review 8:All was good

Review 9:Only stayed one night but close to the warm water springs, place was easy to find, Did not spend enough time in the area to look at other activities but it was worth the stop.

Review 10:Paper-thin walls. You hear absolutely everything from other rooms Slow refilling of breakfast buffet (which was quite poor anyway)

Review 11:Nice room Great garden and location

Review 12:it's a quiet place, as a family with children we would have enjoyed a little playground and other children to play with. there are no possibilities for buying an ice cream or capuccino. the restaurant is a bit expensive, not a place to eat out every night, but there are numerous options in the area. many mosquitoes! Luckily there are insect screens, but keep the doors shut!

Review 13:clean and comfortable chalet friendly staff nice swimming pool beautiful landscape

Review 14:The chalets lacked oven and toaster and perhaps the possibility to barbecue. The restaurant is quite expensive

Review 15:Very likable and welcoming owners Good size of the chatlets Nice and quiet surroundings Very good food in the restaurant Just a (relatively)short drive to the beach LOVE the dog Luigi

Review 16:The chalet was nice and clean. The dinner at the restaurant was really good. The area is nice, clean and peaceful and our kids really loved it (as they loved the swimming pool too).

Review 17:Nothing

Review 18:Lovely location, clean well equipped rooms, friendly staff, great restaurant, great breakfast..... highly recommend

Review 19:Great location, very helpful staff and lovely food

Review 20:Flies!

Review 21:Incredible room, nice location (though you need a car to get into Montemerano), friendly staff.

Review 22:The restaurant was excellent

Review 23:Excellent service

Review 24:The mattresses on the beds are a bit hard, but that is normal in Italy. Also, the loveseat in the chalet was so small that it didn't reallywork for two people to sit comfortably for long. The food at the Osteriawas wonderful, but it seems to be open at odd times, so check with staffat Reception. Also, breakfast is not included for those staying inchalets (5 Euros pp), so plan ahead!

Review 25:Location is wonderful! Easy driving to Saturnia, Pitigliano and otherquaint villages nearby. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, especially the chalets, which are totally isolated. The chalets have a kitchenette and living space, which is much more comfortable than a typical hotel room. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, including little Luigi the dog, who is happy to greet visitors. We will definitely recommend Relais to friends!

Review 26:The hotel was run by a lovely young family who made us feel very welcome and offered advice about the area. Nothing was too much trouble. The air-conditioned rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated in Tuscan style. The breakfast was wonderful and evening meals were also available in their restaurant. The area was breathtaking with plenty to do and see. Alternatively, one could also relax by the pool and enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful views. A perfect resort !

Review 27:The gnats in august! Take repellant

Review 28:As a family with two teenagers we were looking for a stop off on the way up from rome to a villa starting the next day. We were given a chalet bungalow about 100 metres from the pool, but it was simple, plenty of space, equipped for self catering and very relaxing in a beautiful area. Close by is montemerano which is a quaint hilltop town, and there is the famous ( free) hot springs only a few miles away on the road to saturnia which made for a great morning the following day.

Review 29:Just a few minor points that could be improved: The chalets shoulddefinitely be equipped with a cooling system (at least a fan). Duringthe hot summer days, it can get really warm inside. The kitchen couldalso be better eqquiped with more utensils and more room to storethings. In addition, the chalet could have been better served in termsof internal ilumination (it had few and weak lamps).

Review 30:Good breakfast with some local/home made products; relaxing atmosphere, even considering the busy summer season; close to some interestingmedieval towns (Montemerano, Manciano, Scansano and Pitigliano) and toSaturnia thermal resort; the chalet was confortable and reasonably wellequipped, with very calm and natural surroundings. The swimming pool isnice. Good value for the money.

Review 31:The photos looked a lot better than the hotel actually was. Quitedeceiving. We were not aware there were cabins they called chalets, andthat we were staying in one, which was terrible. The pool area wasschifo and large container of cigarette butts, I think a large bikiegroup had just left. Won't be heading back in a hurry.

Review 32:The staff were very polite and helpful when we asked them questions

Review 33:20 euro charge per night for an extra bed was quite expensive ascompared to overall cost

Review 34:Beautiful location Nice and good quality Friendly staff

Review 35:very welcomming, loved the chalet, the views and the location, would love to have stayed longer

Review 36:lack of assistance. The reception was most of the time unattended

Review 37:the restaurant

Review 38:friendly staff and wonderful environment
