Reviews for Hotel La Pérgola
Review 1:Hot water not very hot. In fact, decidedly lukewarm.
Review 2:Rooms were excellent, clean and the aircon was good. Staff helpful, wifi good. Pool decent and regularly cleaned. Close to the main streets, but not directly on it so relatively quiet. A solid effort all round.
Review 3:The rooms were a bit dark but that is due to the architecture of a time when keeping the sunlight out was the only way to keep the heat out
Review 4:Very beautiful historical buulding. Very nice and friendly staff. You can order food from an italian restaurant at the next corner and they will bring it over on porcelain plates with a basket of bread and ground parmesan. So nice!
Review 5:Very friendly staff. Horrible free breakfast in the morning. Not worth eating it, though you can pay for better options. There are great options out in the centre of town just around the corner, so we opted for that. Mattress is OK, definitely not the worst we've had down here. They even had extra pillows in stock when we asked (that never happens). Really good location, tho road is being torn up around the hotel right now, so not good if you have a car, but totally fine for us walking, and not noisy. Also, large windows in the rooms only close with a small latch, so wouldn't leave anything inportant in the room!
Review 6:I got a VERY small room in the older part of the hotel. Good enough for me, but some other travellers might not agree. Last time I stayed there, I got a small but more decent little room in the new annex, which was way more presentable.
Review 7:The locations is great (abour 100 meters from the 'Calzada' street). The hotel is pretty. Good deal for the money.
Review 8:Breakfast is too limited, extra charges for juice or gallo pinto.
Review 9:Location is nice, very close to Calle La Calzada. Staff is great, rooms are small but clean and comfortable.
Review 10:Front of house staff were a little uninterested at times and found it diffucult to engage their full attention.
Review 11:The setting and plunge pool was very nice and pretty to look at. 24hr security also a plus
Review 12:Street outside was torn up for repair. However, it was almost completed when I was leaving. Of course, this was not the hotel's fault. Poor wifi, but this issue was the same at most hotels in Nicaragua.
Review 13:AC
Review 14:After arriving to Granada from the airport my brocken spanish wasnt to great and the lady in the front couldnt understand a word or answer any of our question which was pretty dissapointing. Otherwise the room is small but bice with air, warm water, and wifi.
Review 15:We would have like to have use of the kitchen area to prepare our own food in the evenings to avoid eating out every night. In our particular situation, we would have benefited from a hotel/hostel which accommodates cooking by guests. No fault of Hotel La Pergola.
Review 16:Breakfast, comfortable bed, friendly staff, convenient location.
Review 17:Was originally in room 24, which faces the street, and the club blared music until 4am on a Friday night. Shockingly loud. Hotel asked to move me to 14 and I didn't complain. Added another night later and was in room 9 which was in the much quieter front courtyard area (away from the pool and restaurant). If you want quiet, then ask for that first set of room 1-13 I think.
Review 18:One block off of the main drag. A/C and internet worked well. Safe (security guard overnight)
Review 19:My only issue was that the rooms were relatively small and the breakfast was very very limited and small portions.
Review 20:the architecture/layout/style of the hotel is very appealing. Location is great as it feels like it is two blocks away from hot spots in the area. i enjoyed my stay and loved the pool!
Review 21:Room very dark even in day time with windows open - poor lighting. Pool and nice gardens.
Review 22:Friendly staff, good location and great value. Basic breakfast included.
Review 23:Very clean, comfortable, well-appointed rooms set around a lovely courtyard. The swimming pool is small but very clean. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Parqe Central. The staff are very professional and helpful.
Review 24:went to shower, found out that there was no col;d or hot water. my friend had the same problem. no parking (parking is not to far for minimal fee)
Review 25:good location, decent breakfast, clean rooms
Review 26:Hotel advised me that they would ensure a taxi pickup from airport. Upon arrival I was unable to find hotel taxi. I was desperate tired and a little afraid, having travelled for over 12 hours and arriving in a strange country on my own so was happy when another taxi offered to drive me to hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel staff yelled at me for not taking the right taxi, threatened to charge me for both taxis and embarrassed me in front of other guests by accusing me of lying and being cheap. It was a horrible experience. In the end, the hotel charged me more than the booking.com quoted price.
Review 27:The beds were a bit hard. Very noisy rooms with terraces.
Review 28:Staff was welcoming on arrival and very helpful with any questions. Location was terrific.
Review 29:Wifi is weak. Maids are obnoxious. The pool is tiny and no chaise lounges around so no real way to get sun.
Review 30:Guy at the front desk, Baxter is smart and helpful.
Review 31:On Sunday, the gardener was off and nobody cleaned the pool in the morning meaning there were thousands of flies and mosquitoes floating around. When I told the guy he just turned the filter on for a while and moved them about. We therefore couldn't use the pool until the Gardner guy came back the next day. Also, a strange thing happened on Saturday night. I was walking back to my room when the night porter asked me if I wanted anything from the poolside bar as he was locking up. I said two small bottles of water and he asked for 60 Córdoba. I said at seemed a lot and he nervously started doing calculations on his phone. He then had a change of heart and said, "actually, those are on me". After that he didn't speak to me. Draw your own conclusions.
Review 32:Most of the staff were polite and helpful. The gardener does an excellent job. Good wi if.
Review 33:Nothing.
Review 34:Friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed my own balcony.
Review 35:The bathrooms are definitely older, would need an upgrade: sink minute;
