Reviews for Hotel Granada

Review 1:Service in bar was painfully slow. Too slow. Took business elsewhere to get beer or drinks. Food was the worst we had. Undercooked eggs, hot food was cold - overall, food was really bad. We chose to buy breakfast elsewhere rather than get it free there.

Review 2:Location was good. Staff was friendly. Clean facilities.

Review 3:Front desk staff was very unhelpful and grumpy no matter who was workingit. Our Spanish is good enough to be understood at the three otherlocales that we stayed in on this trip. They refused to make change fora $100.00 bill even though we were guests who were spending over $500,for 3 nights. They grumped at us to go 1/2 mile down the street to aguy waving wads of cash and he could do it. I just wanted a littlepropina $ for their wait staff. Same attitude with getting a waterbottle filled. Take it down the street as we can't be botheredtrying to help you. The bar staff actually realized it could do that forus without the big attitude of the front desk. The shower control madeit impossible to have a good shower. It couldn't mix the hot andcold, therefore one or the other. The showerhead aimed water everywherebut at your body making it very difficult to wash the soap off. Westayed there in 2011, it has gone way downhill since then. Next tripdefinitely won't stay there.

Review 4:Restaurant staff, the pool, and the quiet a/C.

Review 5:Unfortunately the service we received for the money we were paying was poor. They were not helpful and would not give more than sub-par answers even to basic questions. Whether you are a native or a traveller we noticed everyone had complaints of the same nature.

Review 6:The place is unbelievably beautiful and the pool is relaxing and spectacular. With all that and breakfast included, it has amazing value.

Review 7:I stayed at the Hotel Granada in April and was impressed with everything the hotel offered. I returned to Granada in September and decided to book my reservasion at this hotel again, but was disappointed that the quality was not there. The bath towels were dull, some of the lights in the walkway were out and were not replaced during our four day stay. The breakfast on the first morning consisted of fried cheese and an under cooked Gallo pinto (rice and beans mixed). The second morning's breakfast offered eggs and a platter of cold cuts, but no breakfast meat. I was disappointed since I had so many good quality hotels to choose from in Granada. I gave up on breakfast after the second morning and found an excellent coffee shop.

Review 8:The hotel's architecture is very colonial and beautiful. The staff keeps the property floors very clean.

Review 9:For the 2nd time, the bathtub did not work. They change the menu at the restaurant and removed the best meal option. Room and food overpriced. Room very dark and hard to see. This is our second stay and again the bathtub was broken. Booking was difficult due to improper setup of room on booking.com - notified the front desk on check in - they don't care. Won't be returning.

Review 10:The pool as always is very nice.

Review 11:Front desk very cool and generally unhelpful. Was charged far more on check-out than was advertised on Booking.com, but chose not to fight as we were in a hurry. Tried the restaurant one night with 2 friends. We ordered 3 different meals from their menu -- the waiter was back in 5 minutes to tell us NONE of them were available! He brought out the "Chef" to tell us of other options which were not on the menu. We chose what we were told were Filet Mignon, but turned out to be central american tenderloin. Improperly cooked and inedible. Don't eat here. I will never stay there again!

Review 12:This is a converted old monastery, beautifully located on the east of the main mall. It is large and easy to get lost in. Beautiful swimming pool. We were stuck at the very end of a long and tortuous path to our room, perhaps because we were two men and they jumped to erroneous conclusions. Except for the front desk, all staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds advertised as Kings are actually 2 twins put together.

Review 13:When we arrived they didn't have suites available. They told us they were overbooked. We insisted and we got suites after seeing the manager. We had originally booked suites through the website. The bathroom was moldy in the shower. There was little hot water in the shower. The breakfast was very mediocre and didn't seem fresh, or well attended too. No assistance. We didn't eat there the last day, even though it was included. We had drinks at the pool and they told us it was a separate account and couldn't be put on the hotel bill. We were swimming, so we had no money. We insisted and they said ok. Overall, it is a tired hotel in need of some attention and better service. I guess for Nicaragua it is an acceptable standard. I would stay there again if necessary, but it certainly wouldn't be my first or second choice. Overall, granada was wonderful nonetheless.

Review 14:Room rates are to high.

Review 15:Love the fortress/castle interior

Review 16:Filthy .

Review 17:The pool was amazing. We really took advantage of this outdoor space-it was an oasis.

Review 18:The location was excellent and close to all the sites in the city. The property was very secure and we had no worries.

Review 19:The carpet I find dirty, it needs cleaning and teh vacuum. The coffee maker by the sink in the bathroom is not an ideal position to make coffee.

Review 20:I like the location

Review 21:It was a very interesting building to stay in and the swimming pool was perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful
