Reviews for Auberge Le Saladier
Review 1:It is a small busines runned by a very friendly couple, who makes you feel at home immeditaly. The rooms are simple, but sufficient. Excellent wifi! If you look for a no nonsense place for a budget price, than this is really a good option
Review 2:The sound of the muezzin from the nearby mosq (bring ear plugs)
Review 3:Located within walking distance of everything (the bus station, the waterfront, the market, the museum, the supermarkets, all the restaurants...) Friendly and helpful owners Pleasant garden Good value for money
Review 4:The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They make you feel at home, and they give great advice. My room was very large, and had a flat-screen TV, fridge, wi fi and air conditioning. And it was very quiet.
Review 5:Rooms upstairs, luggage had to be hauled up. Bathroom is a small portioning in the room, making the room very very small. Aircon available at a charge, even for one night. Breakfast very minimal. Host while very widely travelled and informed, always had a price tag attached to everything.
Review 6:Nothing really outstanding.
Review 7:Very friendly owners. Helpful in many ways. No need to figure anything out. They will take care of it. Bear in mind the price! You will get value according to what you pay for.(Breakfast is minimal.) We stayed there 13 days. Close to airport. With a rental car you are close to everything there. Peaceful place. Walking distance to the water front. We are now making plans to return there soon.
Review 8:Mahebourg is a historic site with limited attractions but a nice museum and waterfront area. Close to airport. Safe to walk around busy Indian-owned shops. Very good breakfast. Very good value. Very convenient. For budget and price sensitive travelers this is THE place in Mahebourg. Note that this is about 30 km from the main capital city of Port Louis. This will take around 1.5 hours by bus or 30 minutes by taxi but the price to get there by taxi will be around $40.
Review 9:i stayed in a super economy room and it didn't have aircon. didn't bother me, but might bother someone that's not from a hot country
Review 10:younoos the owner is awesome. can't do enough to make you feel welcome. great price. comfortable room. good location (15mins from airport). lovely breakfast. excellent value for money.
Review 11:I did not like that one has to pay extra for an aircon 5 Euros which then makes the property expensive. I did not like that they served the same boring breakfast, a roll, margarine, jam and coffee. They could at the very least give you 2 option for coffee. They could perhaps add cheese, eggs, spreads etc to breakfast. Other guesthouses do so at lesser rates per day. Utensils should be used when serving the roll. Not everyone wants their food to be touched. Otherwise it's a great place to spend a day or two
Review 12:I liked that the owner Younous was ever so willing to assist. The beds we're comfortable. Wi-Fi was good. Walking distance to restaurants, market, bus depot,
Review 13:Nothing
Review 14:My flight was delayed and they let me stay on for the afternoon at no charge. Also very helpful with local advice, I can recommend a trip to nearby Ile aux Aigrettes if you like wildlife. Clean, not flash but quite comfortable, highly recommended if you don't want big hotels
Review 15:Nothing.
Review 16:Jounous is extremely helpful on everything, taking good care of guests, providing excellent suggestions -- very pleasant stay there!
Review 17:Good owner. Near bus station
Review 18:Owners were cheerful and happy to help with car hire and directions. Close to shops, buses, restaurants, waterfront and attractions.
Review 19:Very cozy patio and the owner is a soul-man.
Review 20:Helpful suggestions by the proprietor on what to see and do
Review 21:Jill and Yunos were lovely hosts and helped us with dinner and transport recommendations for our short stay.
Review 22:Owners were great and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay excellent communication no worries
Review 23:Nothing Rien
Review 24:The host Younoos is very welcoming, fluent in English, and wants to make your stay great so he will help you with any problems you need. He's easy to contact and very friendly. Rooms, cleanliness, WiFi, breakfast all good. I would go again. Le hôte Younoos est très acceuillant, courant en anglais et francais, et veut que son sejour soit bon, alors il aide avec aucun problème. C'est facile à se mettre en contact avec lui par email et il est très genial. Chambres, propreté, WiFi, petit dejeuner, tous bons. Je reviendrais.
Review 25:room location no toilet paper no shower mat very steep stairs to access workers doing renovations v close to room too close to mosque & noisy pics on website did not reflect the true "tattiness" of the establishment no tea and coffee facilities in room. had to walk up & down extremely steep stairs to get tea & coffee
Review 26:It is a bit of a run down area (although we did find it very safe). Thebreakfast (fruit cup with some jam and a baguette) was a bit sparse butgenerally in line with other Mauritian B&Bs.
Review 27:The owner was a real gem - he has worked in the hospitality industryacross the world, but is now based back in his home town. The rooms weregood with all the essential fittings (and a nice lcd tv and fridge).Convenient shuttle service - The owner took us to the airport (about10mins away) for 500mur. Only 5mins walk to the waterfront area. Goodfor an airport stop.
Review 28:Everything was fine. Just be aware that it is basic accomodation and not a luxury hotel.
Review 29:Small selected breakfast. Very conveniently located in the centre of Mahébourg close to the waterfront and close to the airport. Owners a bit quirky but very friendly and helpful.
Review 30:Poor aircon and hard mattress
Review 31:Not expensive, very helpful with arranging other activities, very convenient, close to restaurants and also the airport. It was quiet when i was there also, and had excellent free wifi- Australian hotels please note!
Review 32:It was a real pleasure to stay in this guest house ! From the warm welcome, the nice discussions, and the local surrounding tips, Younos, our host, has been really perfect ! I definitively recommand this place, and wish I knew it existed before... Thanks !

Review 35:Nothing!
Review 36:Fantastic value for money. Jill and Younnis were the most charming, friendly and helpful hosts which added immensely to our stay. They gave us lots of advice on excursions and where to eat. Roomy and very clean rooms with fast WiFi. Sam the taxi driver was fantastic too. If you want to get into the local scene and give the resorts a miss then stay here and feel well cared for!
Review 37:Good to stay the one night before heading off early to the airport.
Review 38:Nothing whatsoever.
