Reviews for Fattoria Castelvecchi
Review 1:No wifi in apartments, kitchen needed to be better equipped. Would have liked a couch in the main room.
Review 2:Gorgeous estate, working winery, requires a car (which we had).
Review 3:A delightful Manorhouse set at the top of a small hill with lovely views. The rooms were large and airy though slightly spartan compared to the furnishing of more modern hotels.
Review 4:*No wi-fi in the room. Just in the lobby. *The shower cabin was on the bathroom floor. *Poor breakfast.
Review 5:*The wine was great. *The location at the top of the hill and the view were amazing. *Friendly staff. *We felt like we were staying in a museum.
Review 6:Be sure of Satellite Navigation - use GPS and not street address.
Review 7:Great location and relaxing atmosphere. Apartment was great and charming grounds to wander around. Vineyards can wander through and terrific views over the valleys.
Review 8:Bed was very saggy!
Review 9:Wonderful quiet location stunning views, restaurant very good value with wonderful unusual food and enthusiastic staff, excellent wine.delicious breakfasts.
Review 10:breakfast is not good , last few days were no fruits at all , it is not buffet breakfast like they claim , when we asked about fruits or plain yogurt , we were told , the hotel did not have a delivery for few days, no eggs
Review 11:Te double bed was two singles with a wife uncomfortable split as well as the pillows were very hard and only 2
Review 12:The grounds and the lady who is getting married who works the front desk as very delightful
Review 13:Don't have enough words to describe how good the stay at Castelvecchi was! The property is stunning, very well kept, it has a beautiful garden, picturesque scenery, large vineyards, a great restaurant with lovely romantic dinner music/ atmosphere. The breakfast was generous, fresh and delicious. There is a wine cellar that can be visited and that was impressive too. The stuff is friendly and has great humor! All was simply perfect, so sorry we couldn't stay longer!
Review 14:The whole environment and atmosphere was special. The winery tour added to the experience and we would recommend this to travellers as an extra benefit of the venue. A walk around the grounds is a yesteryear feel to it.
Review 15:There were no air conditioning in the rooms. It did cool down at night but we were still hot. Perhaps provide a fan for guests from colder climates? Would be a plus to have wifi in the rooms since we had no phone signal anywhere in the property.
Review 16:We didn't know that it comes with complimentary wind tasting, and that their wine won best chianti Classico award for the region recently. The staff members were extremely helpful and so kind. Food was amazing, the grounds were beautiful and well kept. We did a number of wine tasting around the area and castelvecchi had the best one by far. Excited to go back
Review 17:No air condition - impossible to sleep Mosquitoes - but no net in windows (impossible not to have open windows at night, because of no air condition) Not well maintained Bad restaurant Not very interested staff Minimal breakfast
Review 18:The buildings The location The nice atmosphere
Review 19:It was difficult to find the property. Call or email and get specific directions, the ones on the website aren't too helpful and GPS put us down a dirt road on a mountain.
Review 20:We had a 1 bedroom apartment and absolutely loved it. The staff was wonderful, all of them - Barbara at the registration desk, Miguel in the restaurant and Andrea in the winery. :)
Review 21:the GPS does not show the place correctly but takes you around in circle. Its difficult to locate for first times. I would advise that you call up the hotel before reaching & ask them for directions from either Radda or Greve
Review 22:The whole place, the location, the surroundings, the wine, the room, the view.. in short everything
Review 23:Location. Sorroundings.
Review 24:typical italian lack of kettle & toaster!
Review 25:excellent restaurant lovely historic building
Review 26:The setting, the hospitality, the wine tasting, the food, the bed !!
Review 27:The agelessness of the buildings and the scenery
Review 28:Our stay was too short!
Review 29:Loved it so much in 1997 I came back again in 2414. Phenomenal view, location, staff, food. Extremely good value.
Review 30:The vintner gave us a great tour of the winery.
Review 31:Realy nothing
Review 32:Everything was awesome! Romantic place in a beautiful castle.
Review 33:The bathroom, it should be renewed. The restaurant: the quality of the food is poor when compared with the delicious dishes that one finds in Tuscany's osterias - it was too salty and poorly executed. But the worst is the breakfast: how can you possibly serve mass-produced Swiss cheeses, insipid salami, and kiwis from New Zealand in the middle of the Chianti valley? One would expect some pecorini, locally-produced prosciutto, and fruits from the surrounding trees. There was a large and beautiful tree full of cherries (I picked some and were delicious), why didn't they serve them for breakfast?
Review 34:The position is incredible and the surrounding landscape is truly amazing. Beautiful historical buildings restored respecting their original features.
Review 35:Scary road to get there...but that's just me...I'm acrophobic!
Review 36:Lovely room...clean with amenities. Interesting tour of the winery included as was breakfast. Nice restaurant for dinner with a varied menu. Fine, friendly staff.
Review 37:The straff, the cleaness, the whole service was awful - the restorant wad closed when we arrived (Monday) and we had to drive again to the closest village to have a dinner!
Review 38:The castel itself, the surroundings
Review 39:limited time to check in, but friendly guys from restaurant helped us :)
Review 40:Great experience: ancient castle in the heart of Chianti, historical but comfortable apparment, kind personnel, great food in restaurant, free tasting in the wine cellar
Review 41:its hard to find using a GPS! We went to a place called Castelvechio, Casavecci and we almost gave up. Im glad we did not.
Review 42:pretty much everything from the amazing setting to the fine dining. The staff were exemplary on reception and greeted us with a warmth that we have not felt for some time. The Resturant alone is worth the trip however the castle adds to the experience and the amazing gardens and grounds
Review 43:The variety of food is quite limited!
Review 44:Excellent location, superb villa, peaceful and idlic souroundings.
Review 45:The hair dryer was not powerful enough
Review 46:Every thing was spectacular
Review 47:Excellent guided tour of the cellars by friendly Valerio Good wine
