Review 1：The super deluxe room was supposed to have a sea view, however all you could sea were the trees on the beach. I begrudge paying more for a sea view when I do not have one. The spa was awful. I had booked a Swedish massage, however the therapist didn't seem to know what that was and then I switched therapists and she was a bit better but still it was not a good massage. And a male therapist initially tried to start my treatment despite the fact that I had asked for a female and there were no questions from either therapist to ask if I had areas of concern or health issues etc. If you book through booking.com the hotel will charge your credit card on arrival in full for the accommodation but they will not advise you. Therefore when you go to check out and want to pay either by cash or another card or split the bill (as I wanted to) there is an issue. The beach is a public beach therefore you may spend a lot of time saying no (or yes) to people trying to sell you clothes, art, shells, shoes, bags, fishing trips etc. The hotel has free WiFi, however it didn't work in our room (223). All in all it is not a 5 star hotel and could be so much better than it actually is.

Review 2：I went away for 3 nights with a friend to relax by the beach and indulge in a few spa treatments. The room (super deluxe) was great, very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were also very friendly.

Review 7：Bathroom wasn't upto expectation, shower wasn't functioning properly so was the bath tub. Food was the biggest disspoinment, spread was not good, not refilled fast. Even the Xmas day special dinner wasn't that good! Staff need a significant improvements on language proficiency and customer care. Eg: we asked room service whether they can clean the room in the afternoon instated of the time he came because we were in the room his response was he'd busy in the afternoon. Ordered a club sandwich without beef and after 20-30mins the sandwich came with beef! Asked for a water bottle room the house keeping promised to bring in 10mins and never returned!

Review 12：This was a classic bait-and-switch where I thought my room Was going to cost $80 but was told when I got there I was in the annex across the street and had to pay much more to be in the main building.

Review 14：After a very long flight, this hotel was within 15 minutes of the airport in Colombo and gave us a superb start to our holiday. We used it as a stop over for our first night in Sri Lanka, the staff were extremely helpful and the accommodation and food was wonderful.

The beach area is full of people begging and hawking. I wasn't on the beach for 5 mins before 6 people had tried to sell me stuff or guilt me into giving money.

You don't get a breakfast but it's easy to find a cheap breakfast in the neighbourhood (café J). - The swimming pool is huge and the palm tree covered beach is beautiful.

Review 44：Stayed here for just one night. Very noisy rooms. Bright lights shining into the rooms from the corridor so it felt like sleeping in daylight. Arrogant manager who couldn't handle complaints, in front of our face she made restaurant staff pay for a mistake on our restaurant bill. Out of their own pocket. Very embarrassing.

Review 48：Wake up call at 7am but we never requested a wake up call. Second night we woke up do to a lot of noise in the hotel. Looked like they were unloading at lot of supplies. Overal the hotel is good but these two things made us leave unrested.

Review 55：Bad booking experience: When I booked on booking.com it specifically stated that the credit card was only used to reserve the room and that I could choose to pay in cash once reaching the hotel. However, the reception staff told us they had already run the payment on my card, which seems they don't follow the booking agreements. That was a big trust breaker and I would like to know why these rules that are clearly stated on the itinerary and in the booking process were not honored. On top of that, I never received a receipt for the room booking. It makes me wonder if the terms and conditions are just a joke to the hotel or booking.com Hotel experience: Sadly, the restaurant staff was inattentive and generally looked like they didn't care. 6 waiters would pass before one of them would clear the empty dishes off our table. One waiter named Lahiru was however an amazing exception! He seemed to be the only staff that went out of his way to please and comfort visitors. We watched him bring coffee to a lady waiting for her wheelchair to be fixed as she was stranded on a bench outside the breakfast area. He did this without her asking for anything. He really deserves recognition because he's the only reason we are not completely calling the staff out on their unfriendly attitude. The beach was flooded with locals trying to sell merchandise which was a bit annoying. Though beautifully designed, the bathroom Was not vented very well which meant that the inside of our bedroom was very humid after showering. The tiles on the floor in room 231 were very cold - so I recommend providing indoor slippers for guests or walking with your own slippers if you get cold easily.

Review 56：The ocean view was amazing. Really paradise-like and the pool was well maintained. There are 2 pools and you can use the pool next door at the Jetwing Beach Hotel too. So you can go from pool to pool. Staff at the pool and bar were quite friendly. Towels were fresh and the room was clean. The beach area in front of the hotel was also well maintained. They even had lifeguards on duty monitoring the ocean safety. And solar power used in the hotel rooms!!! Very cool!

Review 57：I liked everything other than the one day there was about 150 children from a school at the hotel using the pool and the vendors that are constantly harassing you if you step foot on the sand.. I would definitely still go again though!!
