Reviews for Senshinkan Matsuya

Review 1:it's a family business, I love them so much, they're very nice and helpful. He drove us to the monkey park and drop our luggages at train station. i couldn't ask for anything more. great location. highly recommended.

Review 2:Highly satisfied with this stay. The owners are great and very accomodating, also providing free shuttle from the train station. It is also centrally located among the 9 onsens.

Review 3:Had some trouble trying to redo a booking I had made at the last minute as I had realised I booked the wrong date right after I booked online. However when we arrived at the hotel it was all fine so no problem hwee

Review 4:The lady at the hotel had very good english and was very hospitable and helpful

Review 5:The owner and staff are very thoughtful and friendly. The dinner and breakfast are gorgeous and delicious. A very convenient location to explore the 9 public onsen in the town and they provide shuttle to visit the Snow Monkey Park. It was absolutely perfect stay.

Review 6:The only thing was that they served traditional japanese for breaky (but absolutely yummy) but might not be of the westerner's taste having miso soup, rice, grilled fish in the morning! =)

Review 7:The couple who runs the ryokan was extremely friendly and welcoming. Made our stay very comfortable. If we had questions, they were answered and everything we asked for, we got! The ryokan is also very authentic and had an onsen within the premise. We had onsen bath every night!!! Loved it and thank you again to Tommy & Keiko!

Review 8:Loved everything about this beautiful Traditional Ryokan. Location is excellent to nearby onsens and to the snow monkeys. It's got that classic Japanese feel to it just like in the movies! The owners are so friendly and make you feel welcomed. Thank you for an amazing stay! And for introducing us to Kombucha! :)

Review 9:Our stay was perfect from the start. Free shuttle service to the ryokan from the station, friendly owners who provided us with warm tea as soon as we arrived, followed by quality onsen hopping with each onsen having different qualities such as 'cure all sickness' or for 'skin problems'. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with free tea and hot water in every room. There wasn't too much to do and eat there and our 2 night stay was enough to relax. The snow monkey park nearby was also fun and the owners drove us to the area in the morning. Highly recommend

Review 10:When I remember Japan I remember this hotel, they go above and beyond to do anything you need, staff Is superb, there is an amazing hot spring inside the hotel. In all Japan my best experience was here and town is amazing little place ..... is a total must go !

Review 11:Only wish I had more time there!

Review 12:I love this place! It was cool to stay in a real roykan, and the owners are absolutely fantastic. So helpful and kind. You also get a towel and a key to the 9 onsen in the village, so you can go there for free. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Only about 50 minute walk to the snow monkeys, or they give you a lift there at 9 AM for free.

Review 13:Keiko, the owner was very friendly and really helpful in many ways. She tended to our needs promptly and the room we stayed was very comfortable. The inn's onsen and shared bathroom was clean and the facilities were excellent. I would go back there again.

Review 14:I could not connect to the Internet in the lobby or in my room

Review 15:The owners are great the place is great and it is convenient to see the monkeys. Great dinner and breakfast too.

Review 16:'old-school charm' can also be meant as a back-handed compliment. In this case, it comes with a bit of a musty smell from the old wooden building, creaky stairs and floors, and no private facilities in any of the rooms. None of these are deal-breakers, but it helps to have expectations set properly!

Review 17:Matsuya is drenched in old-school charm. Twisty hallways, wood polished by time. Staff was very friendly, spoke some basic English, and offered to pick me up from the station and drove me to the monkey park the next morning.

Review 18:The service by the family that operates this hotel is just lovely. They are genuine, kind people and very family-friendly. We thought the room was rather expensive before we came to stay, but realised it was a great value cultural experience: pick-up at station, induction into wearing traditional clothing and visiting hot baths, comfortable futons on tatami, delicious Japanese breakfast, lift to snow monkey park (and advice on timing our visit), delivery of luggage to near station. Much more than just a hotel.

Review 19:The food was not what we expected. We expected Japanese traditional food. But we got chicken cheese gratin as main course, its probably their menu on the day, and we dont enjoy cheese. But the chicken is perfectly cooked and tender. The other food items are great too. Wish we could get meat and local grilled fish.

Review 20:Nice location in Shibu onsen area. Beautiful old ryokan with great hosts. The host took us to monkey park.

Review 21:Everything. Close to snow monkeys. Accomodating owners - drove us to train station to snow monkey gate. Instructed us on use of kamona. Great onsen and on on son row.

Review 22:Where to begin - we loved everything about Senshinkan Matsuya. We wanted out boys (11yo and 7yo) to have an authentic Japanese experience and this delivered in spades! We really appreciated the transfers to and from the station and to the monkey park. And the food - THE FOOD was amazing. Yes there may be other larger ryokans, but this is the real deal - owned by the same family for 12 generations, the hosts are wonderful. Just a delight all round.

Review 23:We had a lovely stay here and wished it had been longer. The hostess was very sweet and provided good information about the town, onsen etiquette, and the Snow Monkey Park. In addition, they provided us rides to and from the train station and to the Monkey Park at no extra cost. Everything was really great and we loved the exposure to more traditional Japanese culture.

Review 24:I liked it all!

Review 25:Fantastic ryokan, stellar service by incredibly nice folks. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and scheduled to our request. The onsen town around the area is incredibly charming as well.

Review 26:Not a complaint, just a warming, the spring water is very hot in this town. Best to sit straight under the running cold water tap.

Review 27:We had a great stay here, not the least because of our hike to the pool to enjoy monkey theatre! But the hotel is great and the hosts are very helpful. We had a little issue getting our train, but due to the efforts of the hotel could still make it.

Review 28:My friend and I had a fantastic stay! It was so relaxing and a great way to spend a few days after a busy week in Tokyo! Plenty of different places to explore and gawk at, amazing food and absolutely wonderful people! I highly recommend staying at this ryokan!

Review 29:The hotel is an old-style family-run japanese ryokan in the middle of Shibu Onsen. It offers a great opportunity to enjoy the japanese lifestyle. Traditional yukata is provided to wear. Japanese breakfast and dinner are excellent. Hot baths are in minute walking distance.

Review 30:The meals were absolutely wonderful and beautifully presented. I felt very welcome the moment I arrived. Thank you for making my visit so pleasant!

Review 31:Very polite and accomodating including arranging shuttle to monkey park and bags drop near statiom for return journey. Get to wear Yakata and formal dress and experience onsen that are nearby. Overall quite an authentic and original experience.

Review 32:We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to be told about the free shuttle to monkey park. However we were not told that it was one-way! We were left at the top of the mountain confused and feeling like idiots trying to get the woman at the park to call them and communicate! They didnt even mention anything about it! Had they told us, we could have planned accordingly. Luckily the walk down wasn't too bad, but we were upset and it made us late for our train. We also thought that they would drive us to the train station, since we had heard another couple arranging it, especially because not being told about the one way shuttle made us late (but they still could have driven us in time), but when we walked down we were told no more rides to the station past 10:30 am, which, again, no one bothered to tell us in the first place. Furthermore I was upset because I wanted one last dip in the hot springs after the monkey park but the driver could not understand my English when I asked him to please leave my bags at the hotel and not take them to the train station. All in all, an otherwise nice experience turned into a very upsetting one. For the price you pay, its a little annoying not to have a private bathroom, but at least you have a sink in your room.

Review 33:Very nice and comfortable beds, TV in room, sink in room, seaweed tea and bean candy upon arrival, traditional clothing

Review 34:Cash payment only caused us a few problems.

Review 35:Everything. Food from the hotel was easily the best while we were in Japan. Make sure you ask dinner before you arrive as they need 24 hours notice. The rooms are nice and the onsen bathroom is very cool. Futon beds were nice and warm. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Review 36:Absolutely no bad experiences

Review 37:It is an 11th generation family run ryokan. The staff/family are so hospitable and lovely. To ensure you experience one of the finest ryokan meals ensure that you book the breakfast and dinner during your stay. The location in the Shibu Onsen area is perfect. We loved staying here and would definitely return. They looked after us so well.

Review 38:The owner isn't so cheerful and it feels like they do the minimum amount for the guests. For example, they will pick you up but not drop you off at the station. The whole experience was a little impersonal and tourist tailored. The price is too high considering the quality of the ryokan and the service.

Review 39:Location is good for Shibu onsen and you can access the public baths.

Review 40:I arrived at the hotel at 1pm to find the service desk empty. When the owner arrived she told me checkin was at 3pm and I had to come back in 2 hours. It was pouring rain and really cold and so I had to wonder round the streets getting soaked for two hours before I could come into the hotel. After an hour and a half I came back and asked her for an onsen key which she gave me and I got to spend some time in the onsens before checking in which was nice, but a bit of a frustrating experience none the less...

Review 41:The place was nice and the onsen on the basement floor was really great and relaxing. The dinner was awesome and highly recommend it.

Review 42:Spot on village mountain breakfast and dinner, Great friendly owner free lift up to snow monkeys a historic real Ryokan life experience and great futon with the heaviest cover to sleep under simply fantastic!

Review 43:Absolutely no complaints about Senshinkan Matsuya. We found it very difficult to find food in the town/village in the evening. Restaurants close irregularly and they all seemed to pick the same night we were there.

Review 44:The staff were able to help with all our requests, including communicating with a local restaurant about a food allergy. They anticipated our needs by providing pick up from the station and suggesting we try the public hot spring baths when we arrived too late to see the snow monkeys. The baths were the best spontaneous find of our whole Japan trip.

Review 45:The hotel was in a small town. Rooms were gorgeous, onsens were close or in the hotel and all were free. The dinner was incredible and the breakfast was great. We did a short hike up to the snow monkeys without needing a vehicle. We were incredibly satisfied.

Review 46:A wonderfully run Ryokan. With an amazing downstairs bathing area. Meals are delicious and well pre-pared. The proprietors are friendly and willing to help in any way.

Review 47:Lovely traditional Ryokan in the heart of adorable Shibu Onsen--perfect location. The owners are great and the hotel was very comfortable! We loved our stay!

Review 48:I can't think of anything bad about the place.

Review 49:The staff were so friendly. They always met you with a friendly smile and always seemed genuinely pleased to help you out. Their onsen was amazing, food was great, everything was clean and very beautiful. Probably my favourite experience out of my travels in Japan. I'm terrible with names, but the lady who seems to be mostly in charge is so nice and helpful. I kept on forgetting stuff like train times and the like and she was always helpful and friendly whenever I asked her about it. She was even really friendly with small talk.

Review 50:Nothing we didn't like as such, just be aware that if you're not used to sleeping on a futon, you may find the bed a little uncomfortable, but it's all part of the traditional Japanese experience. The room had slight wear and tear, but again, it just added to the charm - it had character unlike the sterile hotels we stayed in elsewhere. There were a number of vegetarians in our group, and while they were great about catering for vegetarians for breakfast (amazingly delicious eggplant instead of fish, and a few other substitutions), they did put dried bonito flakes on one of the dishes, and the miso soup was also made on bonito, so if you are a strict vegetarian, emphasise no fish, including no bonito (katsuo).

Review 51:The staff were absolutely lovely, and went out of their way to be helpful. They picked us up from the train station (I called when we were on the train to tell them which train we were arriving on), they drove us to Jidokani Monkey Park, and they drove our luggage to the train station and left it at a cafe so that we could go straight from the monkey park on to Tokyo without needing to go back for our luggage. The rooms were incredibly spacious - we had a room per couple, but we could easily have fit 4 people into one room with space to spare. Even though we hadn't pre-ordered breakfast, we were given the option of having breakfast the next morning, and it was an amazing spread, well worth the price (and I'm usually very stingy about breakfasts). The free access to the onsens also made for a great experience opportunity.

Review 52:We had a wonderful 2 nights stay at this family owned ryokan. Keiko and her husband were such awesome hosts. Service was top notch. Rooms were quite spacious and the futons were comfortable. Our meals were a delight! Overall an excellent stay!

Review 53:Nothing.

Review 54:This place has so many things to recommend about it: lovely Japanese-style rooms, spotless shared facilities, incredible access to the 9 public onsen in town, delicious Japanese breakfast, perfect drop-off to the Monkey Park at 9am, convenient luggage transfer to the train station, very friendly staff.

Review 55:It's like being in a fairy tale, like in one of the Hayao Miyazaki animation movies. It's Japan as westerners imagine it, but at the same time it's Japan as it is. Hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Onsens are awesome. I'll definitely stay here next time, hopefully for more than one night.

Review 56:Wonderful hosts who picked us up from the station, greeted us with tea and explained the onsens and sights. Divine Japanese dinner and breakfast. Even when a blackout hit the area we were greeted with candles and torches in the morning and breakfast was still presented as if there was no problems. Drove us to the monkey park and arranged for our luggage to be minded. These people were, warm, genuine and hospitable and made our stay so special.

Review 57:At the time we stay here I was suffering a back injury, all of the staff went out of their way to help me, including getting in a western bed for me to sleep on. Their knowledge, help and willingness to promote their local village was excellent. Most of the staff spoke English and communication was not a problem. Thank you for a rememberable stay

Review 58:Wonderful place to stay to go visit the snow monkeys. We were picked up from Yudanaka station and then had a very warm welcome at the Ryokan with Japanese tea and guidance on how to wear Yukata. The food for dinner and breakfast were amazing - such a feast! There is an onsen at the Ryokan but you also get access to the 9 onsen around Shibu Onsen. They were also very helpful in dropping us off at the snow monkeys in the morning - left at 9am so were there before it got too busy. And our luggage was left for us to collect near Yudanaka train station.

Review 59:We were on the way to Shiga Kogen for snowboarding, and decided to stay over at Shibu Onsen after going to the snow monkey park. It turned out to be one of the best places we've stayed during this 10-day trip to Japan. Very nice onsen street, traditional Japanese style. The public onsens are not that fancy, but interesting to check them out. Love the wooden building of the guest house. Owners are very nice and helpful.

Review 60:Beautiful location away from the city in the mountains. 10mins drive/45 mins walk from the monkey park and lots of public onsens in the area. Hotel was lovely - traditional Japanese, slept on a futon, very nice room. Staff were amazing. Very friendly and great English. Big Japanese style breakfast.

Review 61:We had a great experience in this traditional Japanese inn. The owners were very helpful when it came to driving us to and from the train station and to the Monkey Park. They also did a wonderful job of accommodating our special dietary needs. Highly recommended.

Review 62:Nothing!

Review 63:1) The owners are very friendly people, speak well english and always help you to enjoy your stay at their ryokan. They kindly propose me transportation to see the snow monkeys Park and to the Yudanaka train-station. 2) The Ryokan is well located in the down-town of Yamanouchi. Just next to all public Hot-spring (Onsen). Only 30 Minute foot way to the entrance of the snow monkey park. 3) The Japaneese Breakfast is well presented, complete and very tasty. 4) The Onsen at the Hotel is very clean and nice decorated.

Review 64:Absolutely nothing - the experience could not have been more relaxing or hassle free!

Review 65:Beautiful location, lovely hotel and incredibly attentive owners who provide excellent service! Was collected from the train station (free of charge), provided with a map and briefing of the town as well as my own key to the 9 different local onsens. The owner then personally showed me to my room and how to wear the onsen robes (all provided). Then spent the next few hours pottering around the streets to all the different onsens. the next morning an incredible breakfast before being dropped up to the Snow monkey park (all free of charge). The owner helped me store my bags and confirmed the details of my onward bus for me. Really amazing personal service, great location and for a fantastic price!!

Review 66:Keiko and her husband go out of their way to ensure your comfort and enjoyable stay at their ryokan: arranging a pick up and drop off to the train station, transportation to see the snow monkeys, guidance to the slopes for a day of skiing, restaurant choices, and even a late evening trip in the snow to find an ATM. The hot springs bath in their ryokan was our favorite with modern comforts balanced with the beauty of an authentic cypress bath. Despite the snow and cold, we bundled up in the provided yukatas, jackets and wooden getas to head out to dinner along the cobblestone street, followed by visits to the public baths -- an incredible and memorable experience.

Review 67:The street lighting came into the room a bit too much. Personally I didn't like the food, but my husband loved it.

Review 68:Everybody at the hotel and in the entire village was super friendly and helpful!

Review 69:Everything, the owners were very nice and hospitable. It was a pleasure.Complimentary pick up at the station and dropff at the entrance to the Monkey Park and taking our bags to the station and leaving them at a neraby cafe as we made our own way to the station by bus from the Monkeys made life a breeze. Onsen under the house was very nice. Breakfast was superb! Couldn;t have been better.

Review 70:The staff and especially the hosts were outstandingly helpful and welcoming! Also the town is perfectly quaint and quiet (this is definitely not Shibuya). Bit limited on food choices for dinner if its a Wednesday though as most places close for the day.

Review 71:The room was simple with older furnature but it was fine. The hotels onsen was great too if your not too keen on the public ones. The wifi was good but strongest in the lobby which always had coffee available.

Review 72:Simple and nice hotel made great by the wonderful warm and kind hospitality if the hosts. They picked my up from the train station, dropped me off at the monkey park and dropped me back at the train station. Upon check-in I was warmly greeted and shown how to wear a traditional japanese dress to wear to the onsens and given some pointers for the small town. The room was simple with older furnature but it was fine. The hotels onsen was great too if your not too keen on the public ones. The wifi was good but strongest in the lobby which always had coffee available. Thanks for the great stay!

Review 73:This ryokan is located in the Shibu Onsen area near the monkey park. The great benefit of staying in the area is you will have access to 9 public baths which is an amazing experience in itself. The hostess was very nice and friendly. The food served at the ryokan was outstanding. Very nice and relaxing stay.

Review 74:Meiko and the staff were lovely, had an amazing night stay there, great onsen, big room and the dinner and breakfast were awesome. Definitely one of the highlights of our 2 week trip for me. The village is beautiful and the onsens a real experience. I had one of the best sleeps ever, my boyfriend one of the worst! I guess futons aren't for everyone but i found the bedding really comfortable.

Review 75:Toilet facilities were shared - while this was not a major problem I prefer a toilet in my room for nighttime convenience.

Review 76:The overall experience of staying at a traditional Japanese ryokan. The quality and variety of the meals was excellent. The hotel's onsen was lovely and clean.

Review 77:The location in the town/ onsen village of this ryokan is perfect! Also the staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. They communicated great with us and made the trip so easy and relaxing! We would definitely go back!

Review 78:Nothing

Review 79:Great English-speaking owners (actually, the best English I encountered in all of my lodgings for my Japan trip!) Delicious food Free ride to Snow Monkey Park every morning at 9am Bags can be taken for free to restaurant across from train station so you don't have to hike the mandatory trail to Snow Monkey Park with your bags Extra bed mattresses in closet to make your bed to your liking Onsen in the lodging itself (and excellent proximity to public bath houses if you prefer those - across the street from one, and upstairs from another, and up/down street from the rest) Free upgrade to bigger room if available

Review 80:Staying in Nagano was the best decision my friend and I made when planning our trip to Japan. Another great decision was to stay here! The staff are so wonderful and friendly- they speak english too. We were late arriving in the evening and they were kind enough to pick us up from the station and drive us to their inn, even though we were outside hours for their shuttle service. The location is perfect and the town is lovely. We enjoyed being able to use the towns natural hot baths for free and also being able to wonder around in the snow. The inn provided transport for us to go to the monkey park which is a short drive away. We also ate meals here- if you are looking to try new foods and traditional Japanese cooking I would recommend eating here! There are also small restaurants around the village which sell more common Japanese foods like soba and curry- both of which i would highly recommend while you are here. The accommodation at first, we thought was a little pricey but after staying here we realise why- prime location and excellent facilities. We had a terrific stay and it was great value for money!

Review 81:no parking outside hotel but it is not a big issue.

Review 82:Location is the middle of Onsen street, owners speak good English and very helpful, parking is 5 minutes walk to hotel suggesting you unload luggage first then the owner will take you to where to park, hotel is a little old but still in a good shape and beauty, comfry and clean, fair size room, the onsen is good in the hotel and there is many more on the onsen street. Good is good. The price is inexpensive compare to lots of ryokan, with 2 meals and 1 night of stay it can't go wrong if you don't want to spend a lot.

Review 83:Keiko & Tomomi are extremely kind and helpful. The ryokan is conveniently located steps from many onsen in town. They treat their guests very well and are concerned about your comfort. I highly recommend you stay here!!

Review 84:pick up service from train station & to the Monkey park. the minshuku owners - the couple provide us the best advices & smiles at all time. free to utilise the 9 onsens, however, the minshuku provide the best onsen bath among all. Worth going for the Matsu dinner with additional charges as the beef is really nice! definitely wil stay there again!

Review 85:The futons in the Japanese style rooms are not for everyone, especially not the soft futons in this place. Come prepared if that bothers you.

Review 86:The reception was wonderful as we were welcomed as long-expected guests, and the friendliness remained throughout our stay. The place has an incredibly authentic feel to it; even after seeing a fair few ryokans, this rates as a very special one. The place itself is in need of a bit of TLC so it would look as if it's cared for (it's an ancient building) but it also adds to the atmosphere. Great help from the staff to park and to explain the possibilities in the village to enjoy the various onsen baths and the onsen in the ryokan itself. It is a good experience to stay in this place. Also, there a few (but not many) places around to eat, recommended by the ryokan; worth it! The ryokan's own cooked breakfast (and again, its service) was very good.

Review 87:Loved the beautiful old building and the authenticity of the place. Thought that Shibu Onsen was one of the nicest places we stayed at in Japan (loved wearing the kimono and geta and clipping along the cobbled streets to the public onsens). Appreciated the lift to the station and the japanese buns as a parting gift.

Review 88:We adored our delightful host Keiko who made Shibu Onsen a very special experience. A lovely ryokan in a very pretty village. The snow monkeys were great and the nearby town of Obuse was gorgeous so we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Review 89:Check out was 10am. It would have been nice if this was 11am. However, it does ensure that you get a good start to the day :)

Review 90:I am tempted to tell people to stay away from this ryokan so that it has availability on my return trip to Shibu Onsen. However, I will instead give it an AMAZING review and 5 out of 5 stars. Keiko and her husband, Tomomi, are the amazing owners of the ryokan. They made my stay truly wonderful. They gave me a larger room than I had booked, they prepared fresh breakfast and dinner. I highly recommend this ryokan.

Review 91:In Japan, you are spoiled for service. So, when you get service that would be absolute fine anywhere other than Japan, you tend to be disappointed. That was the case here.

Review 92:The location and the breakfast were really good

Review 93:Only downside was the stale smoke smell in our room as you are allowed to smoke inside in Japan. I would recommend to the owners to invest in some Prices odour removing candles for smokers.

Review 94:Lovely relaxing Onsen! This ryokan had the most helpful, hardworking and patient owners! We got a bit lost on the local trains and ended up turning up at 11pm(2 hours late) for checkin, which meant the owners had to stay up for us but they were all smiles and very professional. We couldn't be more grateful for that! The ryokan is in the middle of shibu onsen, a quaint and stunning little onsen town up a mountain with lots of public baths, you can walk around town in traditional yukata and geta sandals walking from onsen to onsen and soak up all their benefits. There are also outdoor foot baths for the less daring foreigner. There is a shop in town that sells homemade walnut Cheesecake icecream and my god, it's amazing. The ryokan had slightly outdated hairdryers and Vhs players but it added to the charm. The toilets were very clean, the room was charming and their underground onsen was a dream! At one point in our 2 days there, the owner informed us we were the only people in so she allowed us both private use of the male ryokan onsen which was incredible! I will never forget this place!

Review 95:It was hard for us to sleep on the futon but that is definitely not the fault of the ryokan. That would be the case in any traditional Japanese home.

Review 96:The ryokan is run by a lovely, friendly couple. Incredible hospitality. Fantastic food (dinner - 11 courses, breakfast - 10 courses). The ryokan is beautiful and authentic -- you are given Japanese clothes (yukata, geta, etc) to wear while in the ryokan and town. You are also given free access to all the onsen (hot baths) in the town. Clean and wonderful. They drive you 2k to the base of the Snow Monkey Park, which is fantastic and a must-do!

Review 97:The owners of this ryokan were so friendly and welcoming. They even got us a little honeymoon present! They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station as well as the nearby money park. Breakfast is well worth it! Their public bath is also the best we used. Great free wi-fi too.

Review 98:no private onsen at this ryokan if that is what you are looking for.

Review 99:great location, central in Shibu onsen area, awesome experience walking from onsen to onsen in our yukatas and having traditional Japanese meals. Very close to Snow Monkey park

Review 100:Amazing experience! Excellent food, facilities and onsen. Highly recommend!

Review 101:Cannot fault it

Review 102:Food was amazing and service was excellent.

Review 103:Such wonderful hosts and now totally smoke-free. Win win!

Review 104:The hostess was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the ryokan, the onsen and the village in snow.

Review 105:Keiko looked after us so beautifully. Shibu onsen is an amazing place to experience the onsen culture. And the food they prepare is something to see.

Review 106:The ryokan is a bit rustic and the bath was too hot (need manual adjustment)

Review 107:The host of the ryokan is really polite and helpful.
