Reviews for Shenanigans at The Imperial
Review 1:Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but we were quickly given another room.
Review 2:You can walk from the station, the hotel is close to shops, to interesting colonial buildings and to the wonderful Maitland Art Gallery. The restaurant serves very good food, so no need to head outside into the cold night.
Review 3:Didn't realise it was a communal bathroom setup (Prob didn't read something well enough) although I barely saw anyone else using it so it was fine. Outdated decor but the place was clean so that doesn't matter.
Review 4:Price Location Water strength in shower excellent Clean Efficient set up Community feel - popular pub Serve yourself your own basic breakfast all day.
Review 5:There's not much continental breakfast options and we can hear kitchen noise because we stayed close to the kitchen but it does not really ruin our experience. We did not mind the noise because overall we enjoyed our stay here and willing to come back. this time will make it 2 nights stay because 1 night is not enough.
Review 6:It might not be a 5 star accomodation but the atmosphere is very likeable. The homey feeling is there plus the food at the Shenanigans pub is a must to try. The location is also close to the riverwalk. If your a morning person try to walk at the riverside in the morning and you'll discover nice cafes nearby. My booking was for 1 night only because just there for Eagles concert and most of the accomodations surround require 2 nights stay. Shenanigans did say they also required minimum 2 nights stay but the best thing is they honoured my booking for 1 night only!
Review 7:My wife is not a big fan of shared bathrooms! (I didn't mind...)
Review 8:Location was great - right in the centre of town and about 20 metres from the function venue.
Review 9:The breakfast itself was not my preferred choice, room was a bit poky and I would have enjoyed a more comfortable chair
Review 10:For my purposes location was important and this was just right, also close to shops, eateries, etc. Help yourself to brakfast any time was also a good feature. Ialso liked the old building with that of course you must accept some inconveniences such as no lifts and a bit of wear and tear
Review 11:Dislike climbing steps to bedroom. Kitchen overworked at dinner, 50 minute wait for food; I chose to eat out. Would have preferred private facilities.
Review 12:Inexpensive rooms, although this is about normal for shared facilities. Available for last minute booking at affordable rate. Quiet by hotel standards, good night's sleep.
Review 13:Just found out today that Shenanigans took funds out of my account when I paid cash on Aug 1st at check in $216.00' part of the contract was to pay the 1st day but I decided to pay for both days, Shenanigans took out $216.00 on Aug 4th . I didn't authorise Shenanigans to take out funds out of my account.

Review 55:very noisy in rooms on Friday Saturday nights especially on the 1st floor you can hear the pokies all night, rooms very small
Review 56:very clean, good facilities, good food in restaurant though bit pricey, liked the communial kitchen
Review 57:no soap provided the overwhelming use of cloying "air freshener" in the shared bathroom. Get your own breakfast - the lack of choice with bread (only 1 kind), no proper tea bags, dreadful instant coffee. Noise from the street outside when patrons left the hotel - until late! staff very diffident
Review 58:location handy to centre convenient car parking at rear restaurant quite good room large
Review 59:Ladies main entry to the bathroom should have had a lock. We were harassed by a male guest who saw us check in to our room. Kept knocking on our door after midnight for a good half an hour. There should be a security guard walking the premises after the disco has finished to make sure the guests are safe. Was a very uncomfortable experience.
Review 60:Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Review 61:Couldn't change the setting on the air-conditioner. It was set by the staff and too high to access and they didn't hand out the remote control.
Review 62:Lovely old building with a great atmosphere. Great to have access to a kitchen to make my own continental breakfast.
Review 63:we'd emailed in advance to tell them of our late arrival after a concert and they didn't reply and it hard to enter the hotel premises at 11.30
