Reviews for Livernano

Review 1:Would have liked fresh orange juice and more palatable coffee for breakfast. Food interesting but variable.

Review 2:Beautiful position if you don't mind travelling on unmetalled roads. Very obliging manageress.

Review 3:The country roads from the villages to the location are sometimes hard to drive.

Review 4:The location itself, the environment and the pesonnel give you the ultimate holiday feeling.

Review 5:Location of property was about 15 minutes from the main road in Radda in Chianti.

Review 6:Excellent staff all around made for a very nice and comfortable stay. Beautiful property, room and surroundings. Every meal was delicious.

Review 7:It is a bit remote, off the main road and a lengthy drive over unstable gravel roads to get to the place. We had hoped to be able to walk in the estate, but there are few paths. Apart from the pool, no outside seating to relax, just the seats round the dining areas.

Review 8:Excellent staff. Daniella and the team work hard to provide excellent experience. Fantastic wines, very good food. Lovely buildings, expertly renovated, well worth upgrading to a suite

Review 9:The property was absolutely incredible. We were looking for a true Tuscan experience and this was it. The most beautiful and relaxing serene atmosphere. The journey to the property was gorgeous, we had no problems finding the place with google maps. Staying in the hills and vineyards or the Chianti region couldn't have been a better experience. We did dine there for 2 nights and the meals were to die for. Before dinner the chef took my mother outside to pick the herbs right from the property. I can think of a better place to stay to get a true Tuscan experience.

Review 10:Driving around was a bit of a challenge, but definitely not something to overshadow the experience.

Review 11:It was like a fairytale. You experience Tuscany as you would see it in a movie. forests, vineyards and olive plantations all over, deers crossing the roads, small streams... The stuff is extremely helpful and very nice. Food is excellent, the huts are well equipped and the design is absolutely gorgeous. Long story short - magical.

Review 12:The distance to get to this lovely hotel is difficult

Review 13:Donna in the breakfast room..wonderful serviceRECEPTION INFORMATION HELPFUL FOOD IN DINING ROOM GOOD BREAKFAST NICE POOL LOVELY HAPPY WE WERE THERE BUT FOR THE LONG DIRT ROAD WE TRAVELED. A HARD PLACE TO FIND.

Review 14:Directions to the location need to be precise because it is very difficult to find.

Review 15:The setting and views are moving. The rooms are a retreat. The dining experience is yummy and relaxed.

Review 16:The location is simply beautiful and the perfect environment to relax in and get away from the hustle and bustle. Livernano is central and close to Florence, Siena, Assisi and San Gimignano. If you want to experience Tuscany this is the perfect place to stay. The food was excellent and the service good. The rooms were extremely comfortable, clean and cosy. We wish we stayed longer.

Review 17:The staff treated us so well. Beautiful place!

Review 18:Friendly and helpful staff; beautiful and quiet hilltop location; delicious food and excellent wine in the restaurant.

Review 19:If you want to relax and experience Tuscany, passionate about wine, look no further!

Review 20:Loved every second of our stay here! Amazing food, staff, location! Delicious wine!!

Review 21:The place is beautiful, out-of-the-way hidden gem !

Review 22:Great staff. We stayed in early April and had our own private chef!! Food and wine was awesome! ! Grounds are beautiful! Will stay again I hope!

Review 23:The managers Daniela and Simona are so friendly and wonderful, which make the stay there a unique experience,we will come again!

Review 24:a lot of stairs and elevators to get around.

Review 25:Central to good tours staff went out of their way to accomodate any requests or concerns

Review 26:A bit hard to find Meals were a bit disappointing

Review 27:Location Staff Room Winery and wine prices

Review 28:lack of care for activities

Review 29:remote location nicely renovated buildings food wine

Review 30:The quietness and scenery was fabulous. So was the hospitality of the staff!

Review 31:Staying at Livernano is an experience to remember. The food is amazing, the wine is fab. Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. Dinner in the evening is done really well and you get the chance to chat and mingle with the other guests. Highly recommend staying at livernano.

Review 32:we have nothing to mention such

Review 33:- location: close to every sightseeing targets in Tuscany - beautiful buildings, garden - friendly, professional staff - excellent kitchen - quietness

Review 34:The road there seemed dangerous. Gravel roads on steep mountains and barely enough room to pass without injury

Review 35:The location was excellent. The views were tremendous. The food was surprisingly excellent. Breakfast was sumptuous as well. The room was beautiful and spacious.

Review 36:Location: though it is really nice countryside location, getting whereis difficult and time consuming, so if you plan to get around Tuscany,be prepared to spend 1-3 hours daily in a car. Cleaneness: they actuallydo not pay much attantion to everyday cleaning of rooms (no vacuum ordust cleaning during our stay of 6 nights, until we asked for it). Youshouldn't ask for it considering price!

Review 37:Location: it is beautiful and peaceful countryside! Weather is justperfect (not so hot, but perfectly mild) over there, especially if youare from north of Europe. Facilities: we liked the pool a lot - it isvery nice, clean and was empty (!!!) all the time :) Breakfast: quitegood, though may seem boring, if you stay longer. Stuff: friendly andready to help you (it have to be like this, anyway).

Review 38:you should know that you are traveling to the countryside , so unpaved roads and friendly insects is part of the trip not this place but anyplace in that area

Review 39:The entire stay was amazing ,the staff, place , food , wine. they make sure to make you feel home and enjoy your time. they also help you with planning your stay and also with all road directions

Review 40:Hard to find, but that was probably my fault for forgetting to bring the directions that were emailed to me prior to travelling

Review 41:Staff were very friendly. Remote, but central to many beautiful places and if you are adventurous, there are many beautiful backroads to explore. The bed was very comfortable which is a must and the food great. (not your usual fare of pizza and pasta)

Review 42:This absolutely did not keep us from loving our stay at Livernano, but the inn was a bit off the beaten track as mentioned by others. Inthe end we wished we had allowed ourselves more days so that we couldhave time to visit other areas. Each excursion took a bit more timethan we expected.

Review 43:First, Daniella, the manager, was amazing...gracious, helpful, caring, just lovely. She helped us plan our daytime excursions and also with aproblem retrieving train tickets. The food prepared by Simone waslikewise, amazing. A treat after an adventurous day exploring theTuscany area. At dinner for three out of the four evenings, there wasfriendly conversation with other travelers as well as the owners, whohappened to be in residence while we were there. On the fourth night, wewere alone with a private fire lit romantic meal. Good wine was animportant aspect in planning our Italian vacation and Livernano did notdisappoint in that regard. We stayed in the Baronal suite and every feature was exquisite. The weather during our whole trip (the week after Easter) was very cold but we were cozy in our rooms - the bathroom seemed to have heated floors, and the bed was wonderful. The long drive (mentioned by others and in the "didn't like" portion of this review) was only a minor adjustment to our plans. Instead of hurrying off each day to see two or three of Tuscan's sights, we, instead set out for Siena on one day and Volterra on another with the third day spent in nearby Radda and the winery that is part of Livernano, Casalvento. In a way, the relative isolation of the inn made us take a more relaxed attitude and we believe it paid off in the end with a more luxurious vacation.

Review 44:The room was a little cold...very much like a castle might be. :)

Review 45:The location, though not easy to find OR to get to, was completely worth it once we navigated the Italian mountain side. BREATHTAKING scenery and ambiance...my wife and I would love to come again...WELL worth the time and money...

Review 46:Getting lost - it is hard to find and even though staff has tried toget the gps thing to work - they need to try harder and get it onthe gps maps.

Review 47:The complete and utter peace and quietthe beauty of the buildings and countryside the friendly and amusing staff

Review 48:Difficult to get to and roads were very poor, but actually became part of the adventure.

Review 49:Beautiful setting. Great old buildings restored to excellent condition. Daniela and Simone were fabulous. Livernano wines are superb!

Review 50:The yiung girl in the morning tried very hrad to foam milk for our morning cappaiccino but just could not do it. Road was very rough and getting to hotel, we loed the adventure of this but some may not. Do not drive a low sports car to this hotel.

Review 51:Very quite location. Each morning when we got up there was mist in the valley which you could see castles through in the distance. Wow. We have traveled lots, been to italy 6 times, this is a very nice spot. Dinner one night was great. Room we had was large and very comfortable.

Review 52:It was very hard to find with no signage from the main road (not to mention that the directions provided through booking.com were incorrect to begin with as to what exits to take off of the main highway). We were so frustrated and had to make several calls to Livernano to help with directions but those are hard to follow without specific landmarks to be looking for (just an unmarked turn off the pavement onto a gravel road). We spent at least two extra hours of our time trying to find it as it was getting dark. I was ready to give up. I'm glad we didn't and was ever so grateful to get there at 8:00pm and have Simonet ask us if we wanted dinner. Finally we were able to relax and unwind! Other than the ability to find it problem, we loved our stay there. It was great!

Review 53:The staff was so helpful and friendly. I loved that it not only included breakfast but also had options to pre-order dinner.. It was quite a drive out of the place to the nearest town so it was so nice to settle in for a lovely and relaxing dinner after each day of sightseeing. The food was wonderful as well. The rooms were spacious, attractive, well-appointed and relaxing. We really enjoyed them as well as the very beautiful grounds.

Review 54:After we booked a suite through your site we received an email fromDaniella of Livernano saying there was an error and the suite we bookedwas unavailable that we would be allotted a different room at a discountwith beautiful views and a bottle of wine on the house. On arrival wewere told that we had a nice surprise, they were able to work majic andthat we were given the suite that we had initially requested. We met 2other couples there for the 1st time that were thrilled with theirsuites and we walked through each other's rooms to compare and Irealized their suites were elegant and opulent while our suite had anadditional bedroom that would not be used as we were just 2 of us, butin addition to that was comfortable but very plain in comparison. Noneof this bothered us at all. What we were not told on check in was thaton check out we were expected to pay for the room at the price that was1st mentioned on your site without the discount that was promised.Daniella was off that day and when we questioned about the bill she saidthat was the price we had agreed to initially and if we were not happyto let her know. We did not want to make a scene and ruin what otherwisewas a nice time. Someone else in our stead would not have accepted that.We were not thrilled that this was not told to us before as thedifference was a couple of hundred extra euros. It was the principle andlack of communication that bothered us.

Review 55:We had mentioned it was our 25th anniversary and so when we arrived wewere thrilled to see beautiful red roses with red wine and red candlesfor us to enjoy in addition to red hearts on the bed and red heartballoons in a vase.

Review 56:There was absolutely nothing we didn't love.

Review 57:Everything! Location in rural Tuscany, beautiful old villa smartly converted and appointed, excellent food, surrounding countryside, amenities, but most of all DANIELLA! The manager, Daniella, made everything better, more special, tastier, more beautiful. Can't say enough good things about her. She is the best of the best!!!!

Review 58:Livernano itself is in a very peaceful location - which is lovely - but if there are loud guests in the other rooms and public areas, the peace is soon shattered!

Review 59:Both the setting and the rooms are both beautiful - it was a real pleasure to spend time there. The food is truly excellent - some of the best we have had in Italy. It is quite difficult to get to (and the directions were not entirely accurate), but worth the drive down a dusty unmade road.

Review 60:Loved this hidden gem! It was difficult to find, but well worth the efforts. The rooms were fabulous. This was by far the best stop of our Italian travels!!

Review 61:Livernano is a piece ofheaven on earth. Danielle is a wonderful person who cares for her guests, and is full of useful tips and advice. I have seen earlier reports that complained of a lack of airconditioning, but our room was equipped with modern aircon although it wasnt necessary for us to use it.

Review 62:Long, rough drive in but worth it.

Review 63:Excellent country castle with great staff and a fantastic restaurant. Plan to eat at the Inn and share the fixed dinner. There's enough for two and it is truly a gourmet feast. You will be happy you chose this wonderful place.

Review 64:It is set in the beautiful countryside of Tuscany, close to Siena and Florence. Wonderful food and wine. Very beatifull place. Lovely room with fabulous bed. Fantastic views.

Review 65:A/C in the room was not large enough so it couldn´t get the room cold enough (Especially because of the hot August nights)

Review 66:Facilities are excellent and staff is great

Review 67:My daughter (10 years old) and I had a wonderful vacation at Livernano A little bit far from the nearest city, but the silence there compense the distance The staff was absolutely friendly and the place are fantastic! Good breakfast, and amazing dinner Great and peaceful pool, that was antastic for my daughter, a great "finale" of each day traveling around We will come back for sure!!!

Review 68:Perhaps changing the towels every two days instead of every three days.

Review 69:From the wild boar and deer running across the road, to the idealic views across the valley to the amazIng meals served, this place was truly a perfect Tuscan retreat!!.... As for the staff Daniella, Simona and Chef - they couldn't be any more helpful. Well be back for sure!

Review 70:We stayed here at the last minute on our honeymoon as the private villawe had booked was a bit of a disaster. All the staff at Livernanowelcomed us like family and they upgraded us from a room to the mostamazing suite. We honestly have nothing negative to say about this placeand we are pretty fussy! The suite was decorated in a lovely Tuscanunderstated elegant way and was very luxurious. The grounds and pool arebeautiful. To us this property represents the real Tuscan countryside. The food is amazing and we ate there nearly every night and couldn'twait to see what chef was going to prepare (it is a set menu). Thisproperty is down a country road (gravel) which could put some people offbut we found it added to the quiet charm of the place and it is still ineasy driving distances to all the towns Tuscany is famous for. We wantto thank Daniela and all the staff at Livernano for making our stay inTuscany on our honeymoon so memorable. We will definitely be back!

Review 71:The air-comditioning broke during the night and the power went. Thishappened twice during the previous day also. There was no-one to fix itand it was impossible to sleep due to the high temperatures. There was awasps nest at the pool, uncomfortable to have so many wasps around, dangerous for some people! I booked this place as a gourmet hotel. Thefood was very poor, many people didnt eat here (despite it being a verydangerous fire- road drive to the nearest restaurant, most people ateout after the first night!!). The food was stodgy, expensive and oftenunpleasant.

Review 72:Beautiful views and nice rooms, good views from the pool, and good winesat reasonable prices

Review 73:Exquisite inn in Tuscan wine country. Great food. Sister winery gives wine tasting and tour of winery. Less than half hour from Siena, so good location for driving around that part of Tuscany.

Review 74:It was in a beauitful location with wonderful views. The rooms werespacious and comforable. The staff were kind and attentive. We justloved spending our time there. The food was yummy too!

Review 75:Nothing

Review 76:Unspoilt location. very friendly and helpful staff. comfortable accommodation.

Review 77:Nothing - but accept/enjoy you tavel over an unpaved road for 5 kilometres

Review 78:Great Service, Lovely place, spacious rooms

Review 79:Excellent service, excellent food

Review 80:I was a little out of the way

Review 81:The facilities and setting were great and the staff were excellent

Review 82:Too far from other villages and difficult access

Review 83:Good service in terms of flexibility

Review 84:Needed better air conditioning for summer

Review 85:Beautiful location for relaxation and enjoying splendid Tuscany.

Review 86:Everything, great place, great staff and a beautiful place.

Review 87:Amazing location, food, wine and staff. Couldn't ask for more!

Review 88:The food and they were unable to provide a blanket

Review 89:The staff, location, facilities, it was all great
