Review 6：not worth the money spent. Breakfast cereals stale and dead and alive flies. Room was beautiful but very noisy as door didn't stop sound from echo in corridor. The restaurant was incapable of getting evening meals order correct and to provide decent food..... Staff team very lacking at the pool to help lift heavy furniture and to provide towels.

Review 18：We enjoyed all aspects of the hotel but were a little dismayed that the bar was closed for the festival day and 2 election days as we only had a couple of days to complete our Sri Lanka tip and fly back to Oman.

Review 19：We had some food moved to the room for the kids were unwell, which was served in a silver foil without any condiments and cutlery. Meanwhile the person on the room service call somehow didnt suddenly understand English. The taxi came very late and we almost missed out flight. We were asked to give 3000 srilankan rupees to the driver who demanded 5k and settled for 4k. In all this confusion they forgot to give us the packed breakfast for the drive.

Review 25：My only complaint - and it's a very minor one- is that the reception area is extremely hot and stuffy with no ceiling fans or fans of any description in fact. Can feel a little overwhelming when you first arrive. The hotel also took payment a week in advance (we booked via booking.com) which goes against the booking.com policy, I emailed to complain but got no response.

Review 26：The room was spacious with a generous sized balcony and all extra's that you'd expect from a 5 star hotel ie toiletries, tea coffee making facilities (the filter coffee was exquisite) bathrobe and instead of slippers-flip flops! Clean, well presented and very comfortable. The pool area is lovely as is the outside bar and seating area. Breakfast was perfect and all staff were extremely polite and friendly.

Review 27：The ground floor rooms have a serious damp problem. There is mold in theceiling and the walls were dripping with water. We slept in a damp bed.Our clothes were wet. The staff knows about this problem and it's anabsolute disgrace that they still try to fool people to stay in theground floor rooms. Shame on you. We were moved to a different groundfloor room, same problem. Top floor rooms are fine. The two nights wespent here were the most expensive of our four week trip through SriLanka. We had more relaxing and more luxurious nights in simplehomestays than in this so called five star hotel. Definitley would notrecommend this hotel.

Review 32：Everything was amazing during our stay. We stayed in a suite, which was beautiful in every way. The bed was so comfortable and immaculately clean with a lovely selection of drinks and toiletries. We ate in the restaurants every night and the food was delicious, especially the Black Pear Restaurant where they food was impeccable and faultless. I can't express enough how wonderful the staff were, nothing was too much trouble for them. They would bend over backwards to ensure you had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. All service was carried out with a friendly smile. We arranged a day trip to Kandy through the hotel with a personal driver, stopping at various places along the way, including the Elephant Orphanage and Elephant Ride, which was lovely. It was an amazing holiday and very relaxing, which was enhanced by the staff and hotel. We will definitely return again

Review 33：Room wasn't very clean, dinner price was so overvalued, a female receptionist was very rude actually, maybe they think they have a good location... But you will find wild dogs are licking pool water while you are swimming!! Not recommended!

Review 35：The reception did not print a receipt for me when checking out. So I didnt know how much was coming out of my credit Card. Booking com says the taxes are not included and the taxes were so high. So we decided in future we would not give tips as the Service charges are so high and this is part of the tips we give.

People are constantly bothering you to sell you a catamaran tour Or clothing. For the price I'm paying, I expect the hotel to make sure these people don't bother you on the hotel beach.

He has exceptionally high standards. Spa was excellent as was the jewellery shop. A wonderful hotel in a wonderful country made for a wonderful holiday.

Review 53：We were warmly welcomed after a 14 hours journey. Arrived around 9:00 am, and were positively surprised with an early check-in for one of our two rooms. The other was made available one hour before the official check-in time. Staff was super caring, kind and pro active. Great buffet breakfast both European and Asian. Pool is wonderful in use and in design and cleaned every morning. Sun beds are provided with matrasses and towels by nice staf willing to create the best place in shade or sun for you. Bar orders can be brought to sun/beach deck. Via reception we booked two trips. One to Colombo and a boot trip in the lagoon. Everything was tiptop including the packed lunches. Late check-out was provided, train tickets were arranged via reception and can was ordered. All arranged in a good and timely manner. We felt so welcome and real Guests. Almost forget to say that our two rooms were next to each other, very large, good AC and with large balcony. Matrasses were super comfy and very large. For our Dutch length a pleasant surprise in a country were we are regarded to be giants. Best beds of SL! Yes, we will be back and highly recommend this hotel.

Review 128：The wifi never really worked properly in out room, on and off. And - when the hotel was really busy the wifi would not work at all. It was fixed the next day. The beach is very steep, and not really meant for swimming - but it is beautiful.

Review 130：Food is awfull : big deception on the fruit juice at breakfast and the seafood diner. Don't even bother trying it and go to restaurants outside the hotel: for 1/4 of the price you'll have 10 times the quality.

Review 131：The room had everything you need and the service is correct : we ask for a new room as we had the one on the ground floor next to the spa - no intimacy at all - and our request was answer within 45 minutes.

Review 132：The welcome was second to none. The minute we arrived we were given scented towels and a choice of delicious cold drinks. Our rooms were lovely - spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were luxurious and had lovely products for us to use. The restaurants were really good - good choice of food and very reasonable. The staff were amazing in the restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble. The menus were flexible and we could even order stuff not on the menu! The pool was lovely and the service there was excellent too. A great start to our special holiday.

Review 133：Food was of a low standard. The rooms were damp as they do not have extractor fans in the bathrooms. The gardener watered the garden with recycled water from waste whilst we were eating or sunbathing around the pool and the smell was horrific.

Review 135：We did not have a good experience with this hotel. For a start they charged us the full booking price ( although they were not supposed to) two weeks before we got there. The staff at the front desk staff were not helpful with our queries on facilities and seemed to be poorly trained. With regards to charging my credit card upfront and two weeks before we checked is unusual because when we have used Booking.com before we were always only charged on our card when we checked in. Would appreciate your comments on this. If this is usual practice then we are reluctant to use Booking.com in future.
