Reviews for Il Tempio Di Hera

Review 1:The host recommended us a nearby restaurant which serves fish (catch of the day). We had dinner there and found out that the food was not too good and the price rather high.

Review 2:The room was clean and spacious. The host was kind and efficient. Breakfast was good and the location very convenient, just within a walking distance of the archeological site. A good value for the price.

Review 3:Nothing, they could not have been kinder, Thankyou

Review 4:Friendly staff, very close to the amazing historic site, large comfortable en suite room with balcony and very good breakfasts. The beach is lovely and plenty of quality restaurants close by. The best place to stay here in Selinunte.

Review 5:Very close to the Historic site of Selinunte. A basic hotel suitable for overnight stay. Owner told us where to go for a meal at the Boomerang Restaurant, They cook what the owner catches when fishing overnight, brilliant meal best we had in Sicily and served with great humour. Great value meal

Review 6:Nothing.

Review 7:Everything. Vincenzo was friendly and helpful. The fish restaurant he recommended was excellent and very good value for money. Breakfast ws good, bed was super comfy and the room was spotless and huge.Would not hesitate to recommend.

Review 8:Wifi signal was a bit low and shower didn't flow properly, but no big deal

Review 9:Very good location, just two minute walk from the archaeological site. Awesome staff, nice and friendly, recommending all the best places in town for eating.

Review 10:Clean, friendly place to stay near the archaeological site, downtown restaurants and the beach -- all within walking distance. Best of all, the staff are very accommodating and helpful, providing recommendations on beaches, restaurants (Boomerang is exquisite for fish), and olive oil. Breakfast is significantly better than most B&Bs.

Review 11:Brilliant location opposite the temples. An attractive small seaside town. The owner was fantastic. He gave us the vital information needed and recommended a wonderful fish restaurant.

Review 14:The only bad thing was a dodgy shower, that probably has been fixed by now.

Review 15:Bedroom with view on the Selinunte Temple, super-clean place, big and comfy bed, lovely owners and amazing breakfast buffet!

Review 16:Poor breakfast in terms of choice; very limited offering. Kona-type coffee only which is not to our liking in a country where excellent coffee is available just about everywhere and so is expected. We asked for double espresso and got it, but it was not very good.

Review 17:Spacious room, clean, with balcony. Met all our needs. Location also good regrading closeness to temple site entrance and car park, but main road was noisy and so was loud music from nearby venue playing late into the night. Still, we managed. Big let-down was breakfast, which was poor and mean by most normal standards; also presence of an intrusive TV during breakfast.

Review 18:Neighborhood barking dogs. Hosts made nice effort to have dogs in neighboring site quieted. Ultimately barking stopped. Reportedly this is area wide issue.

Review 19:You couldn't ask for nicer people to host you.

Review 20:At check in told no option to pay by credit card. Plastic glasses in room so flimsy already split,I lost my wine!! Nothing was replenished at breakfast, once it was gone that was it.

Review 21:Choose this B&B for location to Selinute. Left car in their carpark to visit Selinute. Plenty of choice of restaurants within walking distance.

Review 22:I left the window open overnight and let in a bunch of mosquitos. (no window screens)

Review 23:Large bathroom, good-sized shower, large bedroom, cleanliness, bed was typically firm but not too firm. The location is great - close to a bar for food and drinks, almost across the street from the ruins of Selinunte. It is within a short walk (the town is very small) of a selection of restaurants on the ocean. The parking area is locked at night. I felt that my car was safe. I would stay here again.

Review 24:Welcome from Vincenzo was warm and informative. Recommendation and subsequent arrangements for dinner at Bar Boomerang were great. We had a fabulous evening and then a short walk back to our very comfortable room.

Review 25:Inadequate heating on cold days (we stayed in February, which was especially cold for the season.) It was too easy to get lost in the town when driving at night.

Review 26:The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. There was easy access to the archeological site of Selinunte. There was an excellent fisherman's restaurant nearby called Boomerang, well worth a visit. Fabulous very fresh fish but it can be tricky to find.

Review 27:Narrow shower

Review 28:good facilities, great attention. Location, parking in the B&B. Roomy bedroom. The closest to the archeological site. Great view of greek temple from the spacious balcony

Review 29:Perfect accommodation to visit Selinunte, literally walking distance to the ruins. It is a must to have dinner at the Boomerang restaurant nearby. The menu is only the fish that is caught that same day, fresh, cooked to perfection and fantastic entertainment.

Review 30:Walking distance from the marina and the entrance of Archaeological Park of Selinunte. As we were the only guests, the breakfast was served at the Pinguino bar at the port of Marinella.

Review 31:Front desk was not always staffed. No restaurant in hotel and not many located nearby.

Review 32:Location across the road from Selinunte Temple ruins is very convenient.

Review 33:No air flow when the key is not in the room, so the bathroom was really musty smelling The blinds didn't work properly so the room was bright as soon as the sun came up Breakfast was 'temporarily' moved to the cafe down the road, but all you got was one pastry and a cup of tea/coffee. Reading the reviews this seems to happen quite often - would not a problem if there was decent spread at the cafe

Review 34:Great location (easy to find, close to everything but still quiet in evenings, but the view of the temples is slightly reduced by the big telegraph poles and wires!) Big room and balcony

Review 35:No view from the room ( but this did not concern us)

Review 36:Clearly signed, ample parking on site, in walking distance of the temples . Excellent breakfast space and focus on local produce eg bread, cheese. Helpful host with everything carefully and tastefully prepared. Simple and practical with no luxury.

Review 37:Long walk to the beach and all the restaurants. This B&B is on the highway into Marinella; if you arrive by bus from Trapani, it drops you at a roundabout from where it is about a three minute walk back along the highway to the B&B. In the evening ( late September) it was dark as I walked into town for dinner. Wee bit scary. In summer, it would not be a big deal, nor if you had a companion. But it is a hike from the beach area where all the eateries seem to be back to this B&B. Also, the rooms seem vast with a few pieces of furniture and one's voice echoes if, for example, you are on the phone. There is really nothing around the place, but if you have a car this would not be a problem. On foot, you are a bit limited. A strange odor emitted from the shower area in the morning... Weird. When they say "a view of the Temple", be forewarned: it is through a maze of power wires and across a highway! Sunsets are great if you photoshop the wires and power poles .

Review 38:Huge room, great wifi, terrace with nice furniture ( with a view of the highway), host spoke some English, good AC, parking if you have a car. Easy walking access to the archeological park: just 5 minutes.

Review 39:The owner who was extremely helpful, had a family wedding the day before we arrived so organised our breakfast in nearby cafe. This Agorian Bar was excellent. The hotel is very clean & modern adjacent to the entrance to the Selinos city site.

Review 40:A really friendly welcome, great room and wonderful breakfast (with local specialities) – and the view of the temples from the bedroom was sublime.

Review 41:Very nice owners, rich local breakfast.

Review 42:Very up to date security, comfortable rooms and generous choices at breakfast.

Review 43:Mosquitos. Coffee could have been better. Breakfast was just OK.

Review 44:Proximity to archeological site.

Review 45:Location was fabulous. Vincenzo was very helpful and found us a great restaurant.

Review 46:Nothing to report.

Review 47:Spacious room. Delicious breakfast with a welcome variety of local products. Easy, safe parking. Friendliness of staff.

Review 48:Really friendly personnel and the breakfast was great!

Review 49:Don't take credit cards.

Review 50:Wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. 5 mins walk to beach. Nice breakfast & comfortable room.

Review 51:The Hotel was really nice place, clean, comfortable and good breakfast. The staff was helpful and attentive.

Review 52:Location next to the archaeological site Comfortable room

Review 53:the location, the viewright at the Greek temples, the friendliness of the owner, everything.

Review 54:Very friendly staff Walking distance to the temple

Review 55:Nothing

Review 56:Location - walking distance from archeological park; very knowledgeable host, beautiful small town.

Review 57:Great location close to the temples of Selilunte. Rooms were high standard of cleanliness and owners friendly and approachable.

Review 58:local dogs barking

Review 59:Family run accommodation. Personal service. Excellent accommodation with view of the site from the balcony.

Review 60:extremely nice rooms, good location and friendly staff!

Review 61:Wi-Fi could have been faster.

Review 62:As well as the balcony with nice seating, our room was spacious and the guy running the place was ever so friendly..

Review 63:Very helpful and friendly owners. Clean, very large comfortable and quiet room. Nice parking. Breakfast was very good. Everything was fine.

Review 64:Perfect location, next to the archaeological area. Nice staff, breakfast was ok

Review 65:It was a very comfortable hotel. Vincent, on the front desk, was most helpful with transportation arrangement and restaurant recommendations.

Review 66:Very nice and helpfull staff, english spoken. Nice breakfast, homemade yoghurt and black bread, delicious. Opposite the road the entrance to the archeologisch park. A tiny little village at the seafront, several good restaurants, a few shops. A sandy beach and a small harbour. Very nice gentle people, all over Sicily actually.

Review 67:Nothing - a very nice place to stay if visiting the amazing ruins at Selinunte.

Review 68:Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome and spoke good English. Very close to temple site at Selinunte and the town which is nice to visit. big room and fine breakfast.

Review 69:Everything was good!

Review 70:Everything was great. Small B&B with excellent access to the archaeological sites. Great staff. Huge rooms. Good breakfast. Perfect location for seeing the temples and acropolis.

Review 71:We were supposed to have a nice view. but the room had only a small side window, which had to be kept closed to leave to avoid traffic noise (the B&B is on the busy entrance road.

Review 72:Convenient location for a stopover, easy to find.

Review 73:The situation allows you to walk to the archelogical site. Very convenient parking place. The room is totally new and looks like a 4 star hotel. The warm wellcome of the owner and his son. Great breakfast. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Review 74:nothing

Review 75:Enzo and Rita very friendly, excellent breakfast with freshly squeesed orange juice, salty and sweet choice (good local cheese, different bread, cornetti, srawbeeries, yogurts, etc), big room, view of the Tempels.

Review 76:A purpose built B&B - which means excellent facilities but with less character. Fantastic welcome from the owners. Super location literally opposite the archaeological park and around 500-600m from the sea front. Great shower - loads of hot water, comfortable room and very good breakfast. Easy to find on the entrance to the town and ample parking.

Review 77:The only thing I could say was in High Season when the Hotel was full it could be a little noisy but when we were there it was perfect

Review 78:Absolutely lovely....very pleasant owner, fabulous breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice.....sweet or savoury on offer....a large, spotlessly clean room with toiletries, a 2 minute walk to the Temples and a 5 min max walk to the beach, lots of restaurants in the area. Lovely area, we came for the night and stayed 3...could not fault anything...

Review 79:Spacious room, recommended wonderful restaurant & help given booking dinner...the best meal we have had in Sicily. Very clean , staff very helpful

Review 80:The breakfast was very simple

Review 81:family owned staff very friendly and helpful This B&B is VERY close (within easy walking distance) to the ruins and the beach.

Review 82:This isn't the B&B's fault, but there are very few (acceptable) restaurants in walking distance.

Review 83:A very comfortable B&B minutes by foot from Selinunte. The owners were pleasant and helpful, and the room was spacious and clean.

Review 84:Indoor only option for breakfast.

Review 85:Friendly, helpful and engaging owners. Lovely rooms with efficient air conditioning. Great breakfast. Perfect location for visiting the temples and surrounding area. Secure on-site parking.

Review 86:very bad soundproofing, therefore potentially very noisy. breakfast could be better.

Review 87:located near selinunte's ruins (5mn walk), good value for money, clean, almost as new. The room was large (around 30m² for 2). Good wifi speed.

Review 88:nothing.

Review 89:Although I was a bit put off by the appearance of the b and b from outside, the room was large, clean and extremely comfortable and the hosts were very helpful. Breakfast was great and featured home made cake and yoghurt. The hotel is literally across the road from the archeological park so is very well situated and there is onsite parking. It is an easy walk into town for dinner and Rita gave us excellent and helpful recommendations. Thoroughly recommended.

Review 90:This is a fine small hotel with large, comfortable rooms and a generous breakfast. The hostess/owner and her adorable daughter, Julia, are delightful.

Review 91:Bathroom needs some minor maintenance.....towel bars etc. Water smells, but probably not the hotel's fault.

Review 92:Staff very pleasant. Nice breakfast.

Review 93:Absolutely nothing.

Review 94:The owners were very helpful suggesting places to eat and with information about the ruins and town. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Secure parking----and free!

Review 95:Il Tempio Di Hera is very nice and comfortable place to stay once you would like to visit arch. park Selinunte, beaches in natural reserve Belice or Porto Palo or enjoy wine in famous Planeta in their estate La Foresteria.

Review 96:This is a lovely little B&B with big rooms & very attentive, helpful staff. The location was a short walk from the beach but allowed for onsite parking.

Review 97:Be aware that the hotel is in Selinunte, not in the town of Castelveltrano as the address indicates.

Review 98:This a lovely spot to stay. The owners are very helpful and friendly

Review 99:There is nothing negative to say about il Tempio di Hera. Driving inSicily is a whole new perspective on following road rules....othersusually don't and are not very appreciative of those who do. Inevery community and even at historical sites litter is a major problem.Trash gathers in locations and is not well collected leaving it toscatter in the wind.

Review 100:Very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Immaculate and exceptional value forthe money. Spacious room and comfortable. Attentive staff at breakfastbuffet. View of Greek ruins from balcony. A 5 minute walk to the ruinsor to just a few minutes longer to the Mediterranean. A must request isfor them to reserve a table at Boomerang for a multi-course meal offresh, locally caught fish. The meal is never the same.

Review 101:Vincenzo and Rita were very welcoming and helpful. Location is excellent for exploring the ruins of Selinunte (2 minute walk) and only a short walk to the beach and restaurants of Marinella. Bedroom and bathroom well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Review 102:Like all buildings in the mediteranean, sound transmission can be a problem. I found sleeping very easy, but my wife thought there was disturbance from traffic noise. But hey, thats the world we live in.

Review 103:The location is good with access to the seaside and to the Temple site nearly opposite. The bedroom we stayed in was generous in size and was spotlessly clean. Good parking and access from the road. Staff very friendly and helpfull.

Review 104:The hotel was excellent value, of a high standard, and well located within a short walk of the entrance to the greek ruins. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 105:No bath towels were available as guests were expected to use the towelling bath robes instead which personally I did not like. Hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom were broken

Review 106:Excellent location for those wishing to visit the wonderful site of Selinunte. Good views of the main temple from the balcony. Large, clean room and very helpful staff. Secure off street parking.

Review 107:very kind owner, watch football with him, he offered free beer
