Reviews for CDH Hotel Radda

Review 1:Pool was closed, additional cost to use the spa facilities. The room was warm, had to receive "approval" to adjust temp in the room (not uncommon in Italy hotels). However, temp did not adjust to a comfortable temperature (under 70 degrees F) for us.

Review 2:The hotel was in a beautiful location, very clean and staff was very helpful. Village close by closes early, so don't hesitate eating at the hotel for dinner. My husband had the best Florentine steak! Warning, should be shared by two - it is almost 3 pounds. I'm a vegetarian so he had to eat it solo. But worth the price, according to my husband, if you love meat.

Review 3:Extra charge for use of spa facilities. Though specifically not included in our Booking reservation, we were charged 5€ taxes

Review 4:Fancy new hotel close to town. We were off season but the pool looked inviting. Upgraded breakfast

Review 5:A little more clarity about the coffee bar and its inclusion in the room price. We were told different things by different staff members and were worried about extra charges with what we'd already ordered from them. There were no charges in the end and now we wish we would have ordered some more.

Review 6:Very helpful and English speaking staff. We used this hotel as a base to see most of Tuscany and it worked well for us.

Review 7:Breakfast could be improved to 4* level.

Review 8:Location, location, location! Approx 3 minutes by car from Radda city centre. Rooms are quite large with decent facilities. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 9:There is nothing to dislike about this place. The only downside is the bed was a tad to firm for me. But everyone else in our party had no problem so maybe that's just me!

Review 10:Good value and location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good size rooms, in fact amazing with large balcony overlooking lovely countryside. Good size pool. Great lookout space on the roof to see the amazing sunrise and sunsets.

Review 11:- every day the same breakfast - incredibly slow internet access Following could be subjective because of specific room: - absolutely no sound proof (we heard every step outside our door - from guests from nearby rooms and from stairs from housekeepers) - a little bit twisted wood of headboard (probably from some water accident in past) - stains on the ceiling above twisted headboard - quite noisy air conditioner (need to set to medium level to decrease noise a bit)

Review 12:- very friendly staff - outdoor swimming pool with sun beds - room terrace - clean room every day

Review 13:We didn't find the staff very helpful. The lunch was our worst meal in Italy by a long shot and the pillows were horrendous (personal preference of course).

Review 14:The pool and location were great. Being away from the towns in particular but still having Radda close. The view was amazing and having free parking a big plus.

Review 15:Staff very rude. Waitress said 'what' to everything asked. Staff completely unhelpful & unwilling to go out of their way to do anything to help. We stayed for 4 days prior to my wedding. As I had my wedding dress in my room I put a 'do not disturb' sign on our door, however, the room was still entered by cleaning staff. No apology from management, I was told they thought I had made a mistake putting the sign on. The hotel could be stunning, but isn't due to the poor leadership & management. The steps to the pool broke as a man was entering the pool, causing him injury. The next day the top step had been removed but the bolts were left which protruded 2 inches each side & would have caused significant injury had someone scraped their leg on them. Food in the dinner restaurant was over priced. Far nicer restaurants in the centre of Radda, particularly Dante's, Pizza Pie, etc.

Review 16:The pool area gets busy and is full of guests who reserve their loungers then disappear for hours. The hotel could do with controlling this more. It would also have been helpful to have use of an iron without having to pay for a full laundry service. We stayed for the few days before our wedding so could have made use of what we thought was a standard hotel facility (maybe not in Italy). Everything else is good.

Review 17:Helpful and friendly staff, decent breakfast, comfortable bed, only 5mins by car to Radda town.

Review 18:The shower didn't have a curtain so the bathroom was wet after showering and the wifi signal was too weak for what's app. Recommendation: book spa appointments in advance, they were pretty much fully booked out when we were there.

Review 19:The place was very beautiful and clean, the staff really nice and helpful and the location very picturesque!

Review 20:The plumbing is somewhat temperamental, with the shower in one of the two rooms not having sufficient pressure or hot water and the tap in the other having a rather distressing leak... also the WiFi reception in one of the two rooms was not ideal. These (minor?) drawbacks were also noticed during our stay last year! Hopefully by next year they'll be rectified!!

Review 21:This was our second stay at the hotel, which in itself is indicative that we appreciate the hotel, its location and facilities, and the welcoming and helpful staff

Review 22:Surroundings were pleasant but lacked warmth. Breakfast is not what you'd expect of a 4 star hotel. No real choice and what was on offer wasn't very appertising.

Review 23:The view from the balcony was lovely. Pleasant spa area

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:The hotel and its surroundings are stunning. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the balcony with its stunning views was just amazing.

Review 26:dinner only served until 21:30. Bad for late arrivals. Parking not so convenient for carrying lugguage. Despite the navigation it was not easy to find. There was no real sign- before the hotel. When you see the hotel, it is too late to turn off.

Review 27:Breakfast very good, facility & rooms ok

Review 28:We stayed here for 3 nights and loved everything about the hotel and location. We were greeted by lovely staff that managed to send us to fantastic restaurants nearby every evening. The pool and health spa are great and only 10 bucks for the whole stay. The room was romantic and tuscan style. Sure the shower could do with some tlc but hey..Everything else was luxury Tuscan style.

Review 29:- Difficult to find (the adress does not work-our friends had to call the reception). - Spa is not included! - Personell is not professional: - did not know what exactly was charged on the room - forgot to give back the document!

Review 30:The location itself

Review 31:The room we received was very worn-out, and very close to the elevator with no view outside. The room needed some improvements, because you could tell nothing has been done for many many years and it shows. There were lots of noisy guests, partying and drinking, so our stay was not very pleasant overall. The location is in the middle of nowhere, very hard to find and you need your own car to get around. It takes about 10-15 minutes to drive to the town, it was hard to find places to eat in the evening. The hotel was overpriced based on the location, the staff and the overall condition of the hotel. And - the spa closes at 7 pm! We were hoping to be able to use the spa in the evening, but were not able to use it, and they advertise themselves as a spa hotel...

Review 32:The breakfast was good value, lots of selection.

Review 33:The hotel is nice, clean and embedded in the lovely Tuscan landscape. The restaurant is good and the wine excellent. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back.

Review 34:On our honeymoon we were welcomed at the hotel with such a great staff service. The hotel is situated in such a beautiful and scenic area of tuscany filled with quaint towns and stunning wineries. The staff provided great recommendations of nearby towns and places to do and see. They also recommended a fabulous cooking class which we would highly rate. The hotel itself has everything you require and the the junior suite has spectacular views over the Tuscan countryside. Overall the hotel was great and would recommend.

Review 35:* staff in the hotel is not well managed (some of the people are unfriendly, lazy, not willing to serve the customers,..) * opening hours of the bar next to the pool are wrong (I think 12h30 open) (all people want to have a apero arround 11h30) * hotel is pretty far away from highways (20 to 25 minutes of curved roads) * wellness optinional 10 € pp , as such a cheap thing to pay, but the wellness area is again wrong managed. (burned light in sauna, steambath not working for the 3 days we visited), 2 ladies all the time lazy sitting at a desk and cannot explain anything in english (and pretty unfriendly) * we received a room with a view on a steep hill with grass * lunch is very basic (I would not advice) We paid +/- 550€ for a 3 day stay (excluding lunch), I would expect more "service" from the team for people willing to spend their holiday dollars ;-)

Review 36:* nice swinning pool * nice room (should get a light upgrade but it's still OK) * easy parking * price/performance is good

Review 37:Smell in bathroom. Resturante is quite poor. Eat in Radda instead. Breakfeast is ok.

Review 38:Very nice location and view from room. Nice apertivo with good drinks.

Review 39:Wifi was not working well in the room, there was hardly someone from the staff around, arriving late at breakfast means not getting much, annoying guests that occupy sunbeds with towels without being there, too expensive

Review 40:Location is beautiful, Facilities very good, good restaurant with some great local wines. Nice and clean rooms.

Review 41:The bathroom was a bit old and there was no diet coke in the room's fridge, actually that was very poor

Review 42:Amazing views. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Very good lunch buffet for a really fair price.

Review 43:We were a gruop and stayed in four different rooms. All of them had some problems. Most of us hade mould in the bathrooms and one of us got an electric shocks from the shower hose. The most upsetting about the facts were that when confronting the staff about the mould and the electric shock, they did nothing and didnt even consider offering a new room. After a lot of arguing they finally offered a new room instead of the one where you get electric shocks from the shower. The breakfast here is a buffet with some old fruit and didnt have much to offer, except that you get one cup of really good coffee (the second cup will cost you extra). We tried the restaurant once and wouldn´t recommend it, poor location, bad service and the food is much better if you go for a short drive to Radda.

Review 44:Nice location. Looks nice on the outside.

Review 45:The shower in the guest room is inadequate. Very small for such a big bathroom. Does not match the quality of the hotel. The morning coffee could use some help. Always tasted burned. An iron and ironing board would be useful in the rooms.

Review 46:The hotel looked like like a resort. Beautiful patios. Very nice breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 47:Location was not close enough to walk to town. Some in our party did not have good views.

Review 48:Clean and modern with a wonderful breakfast and very friendly, helpful staff.

Review 49:Not located as described, was at least 2k from the village centre

Review 50:Nice hotel with good facilities

Review 51:Airton not working

Review 52:Brilliant stay

Review 53:Missed request for a twin room

Review 54:Size of room parking good facilities but only stayed in hotel a short time therefore difficult to judge

Review 55:Swimming pool too small for the number of guests

Review 56:Beatifull place quiet landscape view. Modern hotel

Review 57:The staff is more concerned about getting your room number than getting you a coffee. You have to ask them to bring one

Review 58:We liked the view at the pool

Review 59:Staff exceptionally rude. Shoddy service. Not a 4* hotel. Air con controlled by reception! No iron or ironing service.

Review 60:Nothing g

Review 61:The location is great but you do need a car, breakfast is basic but good. Staff are very friendly and helpful but not in your face.

Review 62:The pool, location, staff helpful

Review 63:Mostly good but some staff with attitude!

Review 64:Location and peaceful hotel

Review 65:View from room balcony

Review 66:Quite, nice place, friendly staff, 2-3 small towns within short driving distance. Hotel begins to show signs of aging, but nothing too terrible

Review 67:Relaxing hotel with great surroundings and facilities

Review 68:we loved all - terrasse, landscape, hotel equipment, staff...great place to relax!

Review 69:The hotel is beautiful! The staff were amazing and the view wonderful! Would go back in a heartbeat!

Review 70:The spa was a bit old and could need a upgrade.

Review 71:The rooms were nice, the breakfast was good and of course;the amazing nature of tuscany!

Review 72:Poor breakfast

Review 73:Location Pool

Review 74:the view, the staff was great

Review 75:Mold in shower

Review 76:Location

Review 77:Beautiful setting and very peaceful. Excellent facilities. Staff very attentive.

Review 78:A great central location to explore Tuscany and florence with great views andexcellent friendly staff will defiantly return

Review 79:For a hotel of this standing some niggling problems, such as the shower head that sprayed unevenly and cubicle size and door that would not shut, also the poor quality of the capuccino served at breakfast and absence of fresh orange juice detract from full marks...

Review 80:Staff was helpful and polite the facilities extensive and appeared well maintained, room and facilities were spotlessly clean, comfort and value for money were fine, all in an excellent location. In spite of the hotel's size and presence of groups it never felt crowded.

Review 81:Too many rules!! Restaurant menu poor food didn't deliver. Too keen to fluff up cushions and tidy around pool area. Made to feel inconvenient!!

Review 82:Fantastic views beautiful building smoothly operated

Review 83:Very modern country hotel with everything needed. Breakfast was very good and room size was above average. WiFi is the best of all hotels during our four week travel in Europe. Very good location for exploring this area.

Review 84:The spa area with indoor pool, sauna and outdoor pool The guidance and suggestions from the reception about local thing to do and see The quiet rooms with view over the Tuscan hills and countryside The aperitifs in the bar The outdoor lounge area with white sofas in the sun The breakfast buffet

Review 85:The room was disappointing considering we paid for a deluxe room and had no windows! We did have a balcony but it was still very dark. The bathroom wasn't very modern, could do with a refurb. The breakfast was poor, not great variety and quality of food wasn't up to standards.

Review 86:The location was good, as it's in between Siena and Florence which was useful. The views from the hotel were great.

Review 87:not tasty dishes Turkish baths have been written but No Turkish bath:((There are only a steam bath bedroom. massage pool and sauna, really very small.-

Review 88:Staff was not that kind. If ordering something out of the menu, make sure to check the price first. No major problem though.

Review 89:Beatiful and confortable hotel. Very nice place to rest in the Chianti.

Review 90:Breakfast was a standard buffet breakfast, but nothing exciting.

Review 91:Very modern hotel in the hills above radda. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was large and ensuit was massive with a jacuzzi bath. The views over the surrounding countryside were spectacular. The spa is lovely with a sauna, steam room and pool and has a large range of massages etc at reasonable prices.

Review 92:breakfast could be better for the price, the toilet flush was not working properly. there were a lot of noise starting from very early time in the morning

Review 93:In general we liked the hotel

Review 94:Staff were somewhat unfriendly

Review 95:Amazing location - Radda is a beautiful little village and the hotel is close to numerous great vineyards. Good breakfast buffet, outdoor pool, and views across the Tuscan countryside.

Review 96:Shower is just ridiculously small, although the bathroom itself is big enough. There were not enough beds around the swimming pool, so some people put their towels out at 7.30 in the morning to occupy them although they used the beds just much later.

Review 97:Great location. We had a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. Room was comfortable with a nice big terrace. Breakfast was ok. Radda in Chianti is just a minute to drive (no option to walk there really). Great starting point for our trips to th e chianti region.

Review 98:The food, especially the breakfast is poor. There were no selection of breads, cheese or cereals. We ordered a continental breakfast and when it arrived we only had cakes & buscuits with some yoghurt. This is not a continental breakfast. Also, not all the plug sockets worked in our room and the air con was far too loud.

Review 99:This hotel is good value for money & has amazing views. The staff are friendly & respond quickly when we needed something.

Review 100:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and welcoming. Food was excellent. If we planned another holiday in that area we would definitely stay again.

Review 101:Hotel could be better signposted from the road. Hotel food is ok but not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Review 102:We had a junior suite which had truly stunning views over Chianti country. Location is peaceful but just a short journey from Radda. If you are looking to slow your pace of life, this is an ideal hotel.

Review 103:Well, the breakfast was repetitive and dull. They charged us for coffee(this is the first time we encountered this in any hotel we have everbeen to) the bed wasn't really that comfortable. The room didn'thave a kettle although its base remained in the closet for somereason(?) and there were only plastic cups.the shower head was brokenand kept falling of it's place. We had a porch with wooden frenchdoors which had red tiny bugs on it the whole time we stayed. The porchalso seemed like no one replaced or painted it's furniture in over10 years (all rusty and faded with rust marks on the floor).. It's anice hotel but too expensive for what it offers.

Review 104:Very nice view. The location is central and gave access to the wineriesand some wonderful restaurants in the area. The staff in the receptionwas very friendly and helpful. As we were on our honeymoon the hotelsent us champagne and strawberries which was a very pleasant surprise..Also the outdoor pool was excellent!

Review 105:No information about services the hotel has was offered, iespa/health treatments, room service, menu, what's in the areaetc, and when we asked for one we were told they weren't printed yetwhich seemed a little odd. The heating in our room was constantly on andwe couldn't turn it off so was very warm inside.

Review 106:Nice rooms and reasonably stylish too, we had a very large patio with agreat view over the valley. Location was good but obviously you need acar to be staying here as public transport is non existent. The town ofRadda is close by and very nice with lots of good restaurants. Thebuffet breakfast is pretty good too.

Review 107:I repeatedly requested the temp to be lowered in our room - it was controlled from front desk and was set between 25 and 28 degrees. It didn't happen and we were constantly over heated. It couldn't be turned off either... so we were uncomfortable.

Review 108:The staff were helpful with travelling suggestions and other restaurants to try.

Review 109:The lighting in the room was very poor. It was difficult to read and see in the mirror at night. Get some proper lights. Apart from the bar, the seating area was part of the reception and one felt one was waiting in a hotel reception rather than relaxing in part of the hotel.

Review 110:Staff very pleasant and helpful. Nicely laid out hotel. Food and wine was very good. Views were excellent. Very clean.

Review 111:Not room category we booked. Two exhibitions distracted our holiday. Hotel business hotel and nothing more.poor breakfast.have to Pay for cappucino! Extra costs for spa! Not close to my expectations and what discribed on www!

Review 112:Lounge bar

Review 113:air conditioning that could not be adjusted \ breakfast was not all that and charged for a second coffee (3 EUROS) \ TV did not work properly

Review 114:nice design hotel and staff were really friendly

Review 115:Car park could be more efficient / bigger. Now you can park your car in front of the hotel or on the 'roadside'-type parking that is very dark when you arrive late in the evening and is one level below the hotel. Also: no roadsigns indicate the hotel. other hotels do have big signs, but when you don't know, you just drive by the hotel entrance...

Review 116:Good location, friendly staff, great view, nice pool, nice bar, relaxing atmosphere, perfect breakfast.

Review 117:No air conditioning till 15th may. Wifi not very good in room

Review 118:The staff was very helpful and the place was beautiful. Perched on ahillside, we had amazing views of the vineyards. Wifi was good and thehappy hour was fun time to associate with others. Removed from thecity center

Review 119:Absolutely no character. I could've been anywhere in the world.Chianti has too much to offer to waste you time at a bland property. Noac before May. It was hot and uncomfortable at night. Shower sprays allover the floor. Rooms are small. Breakfast was the most simple I hadduring my whole Italian stay.

Review 120:It was ok. Simple, clean and without much character. Nice lounge areaat night. Good parking. Views are spectacular. Newer property. Kidswould love it.

Review 121:the hotel was exactly as pictured on the web site. awesome location and a great drive though the Tuscan hills to arrive at the hotel. the food was excellent and so was the wine. great and helpful staff. No Italian, no problem. we had a junior suite with a balcony and it was really nice. From this location we visited Siena, Florence and Greve. it is just a couple of kilometers from Radda.

Review 122:We loved our time at My One Hotel Radda. We were there for 5 nights andreally got to know the wonderful town of Radda and the surrounding area. The staff were incredibly attentive and informative with recommendationsfor local restaurants and helping out with improving our italian! Thefacility was beautiful, our room was big, clean and comfortable!

Review 123:Radda in Chianti is about 1.5 kms from the hotel and we had plannedto walk there from the hotel however hotel staff advised the onlyway was along the road which was narrow and windy and had nopavement. We did walk into the town but it other visitors may wantto be aware in advance.

Review 124:The hotel is positioned with a beautiful view of Radda in Chianti andthe surrounding countryside. The room we had was large with lovelymodern wooden furniture and graet views.

Review 125:The hot pool should be hotter. Breakfest- it took almost 20 mins. to bring more scrambled eggs, we waited 10 mins. to have clean plates. The view from outside is great, but needs more shades there to feel more comfortable.

Review 126:Big rooms, great view, nice staff

Review 127:Third bed was a single bed settee, too small and not very comfy for a 14 year old.

Review 128:Idea location for exploring Tuscany. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with great air conditioning and a very comfy large bed. Beautiful views towards Radda in Chianti. 30 minutes drive from Siena. Free wi-fi and computer access. Free bar snacks in the evening.

Review 129:Signage on the road to Radda in Chianti leading to the hotel should be better. We could not find it at first, even with the GPS co-oridinates.

Review 130:We stayed only one night with a group of friends that my husband and I were travelling with and everyone loved this hotel. Too bad the stay was so short. It is a lovely property with a beautiful pool. We'd love to go back!
