Reviews for Palazzo San Niccolò

Review 1:Not a thing

Review 2:Our visit was to coincide with my wife's 50th birthday, our arrival was made very special with gifts and an upgraded room. Location and facility were fantastic. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Review 3:we had been there during a 5 days vacation in Chianti rigion. this is a perfect place to stay if you want to visit the area. perfect location , a good nice hotel the staff was helpfull friendly and efficiant. we surely recommand this hotel to our friends and intend to stay there again.

Review 4:Inconvenient mosquitoes inside the room...

Review 5:Amazing staff, you feel like a queen from the moment you get to the entrance. They offer free use to the indoor swimming pool from Palazzo Leopoldo hotel, which is very good!

Review 6:Nothing that we didn't like at this property. We didn't like the wasps though that were flying near the terrace tables (outside) and sometimes even inside while trying to eat your breakfast. But you don't have any reason to stop the nature from moving, isn't it? :)

Review 7:Palazzo San Niccolò offers great accommodation conditions, a quite good breakfast and its staff is more than helpful. It offers even access to two pools during your stay, one indoor & heated and one outdoor (too pity that we haven't got the chance to swim in any of them) and, for people needing a good WiFi connection even in their vacation, I have to highlight that I had a great internet connection at Palazzo San Niccolò. On top of these, even if the hotel is located in Radda in Chianti's central square with limited access for card, the hotel staff guides you to park your car in a nearby car parking with plenty of space. You have a nice feeling when you realize that all these important aspects are synced.

Review 8:This hotel is absolutely wonderful, clean, full of history and the staff, precisely Linda and Giulia are simply the best!< I am so looking forward to staying there again

Review 9:Spectacular tiny village. Hotel located in dead centre. Gorgeous room overlooking the plaza. Drives around couldn't have been prettier with a top class tour for 10 Euros of near by winery.

Review 10:Parking was a bit away but you could load and unload at the hotel door.

Review 11:We had a suite with two bathrooms which was excellent. We also had a private terrace.

Review 12:bathroom was little but it is only a detail, the hotel is ok

Review 13:The location in Chianty is perfect to visit , the staff is nice and helpful, the rooms are nice , clear and the breakfast has good choice of menu.

Review 14:Staffs are very friendly and helpful. We missed the bus to firenze, the staff helped coordinating private shuttle and waited until we got on the bus. Moreover, excellent location in Radda.

Review 15:Gorgeous renovated hotel with frescos in the middle of historic center of Radda. Room and bathroom was spotless clean, but beware of the step out of bathroom, i was nearly fall forgeting it (maybe one glass too many of chianti classico) :). Private parking is free (near hotel), also there is welcome drink and free water in the fridge. breakfast was superb. But all this should be expeced from 4 star hotel. What blew me away is hotel staff. I have never ever see so nice, friendly, helpful staff. They were always in such good mood, nothing was hard for them. I want once more thank you ladies for making my stay so wonderful in Radda.

Review 16:None

Review 17:We were greeted with the warmest staff that went out of their way toaccommodate us throughout our 2 night stay. The hotel is centrallylocated in the town and is most charming. We had a spacious suite wherewe were able to watch and heal the bells from the church next to us.

Review 18:We loved the firm mattress though others may not. Our only complaint would be that the room (and bathroom in particular) was a bit dark due to energy efficient light bulbs.

Review 19:Really lovely staff and a great location in Chianti. Our deluxe room was spacious, quiet and comfortable with windows opening on to the main pedestrian area through the town. A great base for a driving tour of this part of Tuscany.

Review 20:Nothing.

Review 21:Small city so nice to be right in the centre, parking handy. Really friendly, welcoming staff. Huge room, nice veiw over the fountain and Church. Comfortable seating area well furnished. Good breakfast.

Review 22:WE spent our first anniversary here overlooking the square in which we got married. Our room on first floor had 2 windows overlooking the square and it was just perfect. Radda in Chianti and the whole neighbouring region are heaven on earth. We were so surprised by the quality of the rooms, the beautiful paint work and all finishes were just lovely. Really friendly staff too and being able to drive out front to load and unload the car made it an easy stay. We will most certainly be back, maybe for our 10 year anniversary! Wish we could have stayed for longer...

Review 23:WiFi was spotty.

Review 24:Beautiful house in the very heart of this pretty, small town with lovely large rooms. Breakfast is served by super friendly staff on the piazza in front of the hotel. The church bells are lovely during the day and fortunately muted during the night. Bathroom mirror and lighting are fantastic :) Plenty of good and some very good places to eat within walking distance, so plenty of opportunity to taste the delicious wines of the region.

Review 25:Very limited facilities, which meant that we had to go out of Radda every day to "do" things - the village also had limited shops and no "atmosphere in the centre at night because everything except the 2 bars were closed.

Review 26:A charming hotel right in the centre of Radda. We also liked the sister hotel at Grieve which we went to during the day - from choice next time we would not stay at San Niccolo - but go to the one at Grieve with the pool.

Review 27:Insects abounding this hotel. Cafeteria was full of flying insects in my stay. Food uncovered and the flies loved it. Insectocuter necessary to become just a little hygienic. Breakfast for with everything running out pretty soon. Forget the family rooms on the third floor, they are dark, low ceiling and not suites by any standards.

Review 28:Staff were courteous at all times. Hotel is quaint and could be much better with some slight modifications. The terrace is very much understood as being exclusively for the residents in the adjoining room

Review 29:As cars cannot be parked outside the hotel, we had to move it after unpacking, although it wasn't too far away and was free. The breakfast was ok, but nothing too special - if you wanted toast it took forever to do it.

Review 30:The staff were very welcoming and I definitely appreciated the glass of prosecco on arrival! The room was large with a big, comfortable bed. The decent sized bathroom was clean. The location was good at it was central to the small town.

Review 31:Excellent stay for all my family. The staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is great and service is super. The location is perfect for exploring surroundings. I recommend this stay to everyone.

Review 32:Loved everything but the wifi was a little slow.

Review 33:The hotel s location was amazing. Right in the heart of the chianti region. Absolutely stunning. The suite we stayed in was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful ( and we travelled with a small baby so we had to often ask them some assistance). This place is a small heaven and i would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the chianti region. :)

Review 34:The bed was much too firm for me, but it was worth it.

Review 35:I was pleasantly suprised to get much more than I had hoped for. The views of the vineyards are breaking and the quaint village allowed you to step back in time. The rooms are gorgeous with it's high ceilings and hand painted frescoes.

Review 36:Dust under beds )))) But some people can even not notice it

Review 37:Staff was great, panoramas are beautiful (around Radda), breakfast was great (with fruit, mozzarella, tomatoes, olives, cakes, serials, , bread, jam, cheese, sliced ham and so on, and great service with smiles). Coffee, cappucсino, were also good.

Review 38:Very characteristic restored Tuscan palace from the Middle Ages, in one of the best towns of the Chianti hills. Nice rooms overlooking a pedestrianised area in a truly historic setting. Very good service by the staff and excellent breakfast.

Review 39:Parking was quite far away, although you could drive through to dropoff luggage.

Review 40:Beautiful hotel, very comfortable, free wifi, breakfast wasamazing!. Free access to a stunning underground pool in a convertedcellar of their sister hotel only 30m down the street. Staff veryhelpful and friendly.

Review 41:Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was beautiful, traditional Italian style. Breakfast was very good. It is located in a beautiful village in a stunning part of Italy.

Review 42:It's location It's service Amenities Friendly staff

Review 43:Staff was very helpful.. The breakfast was good..

Review 44:Extremely helpful, and kind staff. Accommodations were so comfortable and relaxing.

Review 45:The location, the staff who were very helpful and the general friendliness. The beautiful scenery and the pace of life.

Review 46:my room 's window in the high place.it's not comfort

Review 47:Staff is really very nice and kind, but hotel is old,

Review 48:Noise from the restaurant nearby early in the morning.

Review 49:Outside seating.

Review 50:Shower

Review 51:Location

Review 52:Swimming pool was at another address.

Review 53:Great rooms excellent beds, very charming and romantic.

Review 54:A lovely and charming hotel, the staff were very courteous and helpful. Excellent service and great stay.

Review 55:Staff were fantastic. Very informative about local area

Review 56:Very helpful staff, excellent location.

Review 57:Very nice hotel to stay in with a welcoming glass of proseco on a very hot day. Large bathroom with a spa.

Review 58:Great location and helpful staff

Review 59:We received a warm welcome..wonderful room great location!

Review 60:Too much loud "prego!!" from one young lady in the restaurant. Very friendly but too much training?

Review 61:The staff at front desk were amazing

Review 62:Most of staff excellent.unfortunate 1 staff member dissapointing

Review 63:Location.food.wines.

Review 64:- Very nice staff - Very good location

Review 65:Nice historic building. Very nice and friendly staff.

Review 66:wlan bike garage

Review 67:Pretty much everything was fine

Review 68:Beautiful rooms and hotel, very well situated in Radda

Review 69:Amazing Hotel. Recommend cooking class with Chef Lorenzo.

Review 70:The staff

Review 71:A bit far from the highway but a real fun drive

Review 72:Generous size of room - corner on first fl. Location in Radda's medieval area. Good breakfast and comfortable room. Very friendly helpful staff

Review 73:Depending upon which receptionist is on duty when you arrive will really depend on the welcome! We were given the key and told our room is on the second floor and to you can use the lift if you want. Not quite the welcome we'd expected. The WiFi is not brilliant but workable in certain areas of the hotel.

Review 74:Excellent location for visiting different places and vinyards. Hotel location was perfect. Have to agree the beds are a bit hard (and I love a firm bed) and rooms could do with being a bit darker (black out curtains) just a minor thing otherwise great.

Review 75:The beds were like sleeping on wooden boards. At least it was in my room. I was somewhat surprised since its rating was so high. The second issue was the Wi-Fi in the rooms. To get a good signal you had to go downstairs into the study room. This is something which should be easy to correct since all the rooms were wired for cable.

Review 76:Location was excellent. You are right in the middle of the chianti region. Virtually within minutes of six or senen wineries. The staff was great. The breakfasts were awesome. Lots of variety and the staff always had time to make you an extra caffe latte or cappucino. Extremely clean hotel. Parking was not a problem.

Review 77:I have nothing negative to say. We would have loved to stay longer.

Review 78:The staff went out of their way to help us and even another couple who were traveling with us but were staying in another hotel. We enjoyed the garden terrace outside our room and the excellent breakfast out on the sunny terrace on the little piazza.

Review 79:Attic room did not have a view

Review 80:Spacious Decor was pretty Good breakfast assortment Numerous group seating areas 2 outside areas to sit and eat or relax Great location in town Quiet

Review 81:The hotel & staff were splendid - absolutely nothing to criticise.

Review 82:Location in Radda, welcoming & very helpful staff - nothing too much trouble for them.would very happily stay there again. Lots of places to eat nearby - not all value for money! Four nights there not long enough.

Review 83:No WiFi service in our room.

Review 84:Lovely hotel in Radda in Chianti. Our room was nicely furnished, spacious and clean. Window opened onto the small piazza where the church is, and we were immediately welcomed by the sounds of the church choir's songs - nice touch! Bathroom was spacious with everything we needed - including a bath tub which can be difficult to find in Italy's smaller hotels. Only disappointment was the WiFi which only works in the common areas. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Review 85:The only thing that made it tricky for my friend, was that the Wifi signal could only be picked up in the common areas, instead of our room.

Review 86:We loved the staff: Marco, David, Chiara and of course, Claudio! Our room was lovely, large and clean, great location. The breakfast was great, and Claudio's cappuccinos were the best!

Review 87:Not all services are offered in the hotel itself (I didn't care, but some may)

Review 88:Breakfast in Radda square. Lounge/living room with frescos on all walls. Wifi in the hall.

Review 89:Staff was courteous and extremely helpful. Morning meals abundant and diverse. Facilities were better than satisfactory, but that is the charm of place like this palazzo anything more it would be a Westin - (In Chianti? - abomination!).

Review 90:We wanted to see what it would be like to be in the middle of a small town and this was an excellent location and experience. The hotel amenities and breakfasts were good and their nearby parking made like easy.

Review 91:Room we booked based on Booking, com was in basement!! One tiny window at ggrade with bars.Shocked, we refused it and asked for something more in line with the price we were paying.Should have also checked the hotel web site to see their range of rooms. Learned every hotel has good and bad rooms. Situation was rectified but lesson learned and its one every traveller should remember. Going forward, before I paid out any money, I always asked to "See the room please".

Review 92:Corner room with 3 windows and great views of pedestrian street, shops and mountains.

Review 93:Attick room for 3 is spacy, but bit claustrofobic because there is only a roof window. Bathroom is well equipped and stylish decorated, but shower itself is a bit small. Maybe its different in other rooms.

Review 94:- Excellent friendly staff - Well decorated rooms - very good breakfast served on the square

Review 95:We normally don't like to leave any negative reviews. First, you need a car to get to this location, it is not really convenient. Once you get there you are stuck in this tiny village. Not much to do there at all. The hotel is small and the pool next door is tiny. The breakfast was fairly poor. The boiled eggs were left out the night before and served the next day. The staff looked like they were not happy to have any visitors. We got the loft room which had a slope ceiling and not much circulation. It was not a true king but 2 single beds placed together. In addition, the bed and the pillows were so hard. When I requested extra pillows, they gave me an attitude. If this is a 4 star hotel, then the Holiday Inn is a 5 star. Overall we were happy to leave.

Review 96:The hotel provided free water bottles.

Review 97:As we were staying on the top floor under the roof we had no view.

Review 98:The space we had in our room, the location in the center of the village, the food and wine in the area and the fantastic restoration they have done on the building.

Review 99:Internet/Wifi was poor even though it was advertised.

Review 100:Nice and well maintained rooms in a sweet hotel in the mainstreet of Radda. Welcoming staff and decent breakfast.

Review 101:We booked. for 8 nights as part of a touring holiday in Tuscany. We got to know the staff really well and they were all more than helpful. Going back to the hotel after a days touring was like going home. Very comfortable, highly recommended

Review 102:We haven't got any wrong word to say about our stay in this charming hotel. Great staff, great location. We would certainly recommend this hotel. We stayed here for 13 nights and got a free upgrade to a deluxe room. Just wonderful.

Review 103:Great 4 day break, location is perfect for exploring Tuscany, helpfulstaff, good breakfast really couldn't do enough for us. The sisterhotel is f a slightly higher standard but this more than met our needs.

Review 104:some staff were fantastic some a bit less so. odd situation in that first night there we got back at 11pm and doors were locked and we couldn't get in! It turns out that they have cameras at the sister hotel down the road and were there in minutes - so it was fine but would have been nice to know about this. General point for people going to Radda people don't eat late there and some restaurants close pretty early!

Review 105:Fantastic location Hotel with a real history and a lot of character Good value for money

Review 106:Some of furnishings could be a bit better in design and in keeping with the style but this is really picky.

Review 107:Rooms very comfortable, staff generally helpful and friendly. Nice contintental breakfast, opportunity to have breakfast outside in nice square. Close to some excellent restaurants. Lovely little town/village.

Review 108:Hotel is nice when conneted to eletricity, otherwise hotel should buy generator ( we were without electricity two mornings). Anyhow It is nice experience, reminds me on Sarajevo during the war - not nice future for Chianti. This is joke - hotel is OK, staff even better. Regards !

Review 109:The lighting in the rooms can be challenging. Sometimes you have to turn on several lights to have enough lighting. Could also use more or larger garbage pails.

Review 110:The staff are wonderful. Hotel locates in town and easily to walk to restaurants. The breakfast has a nice selection of fresh meats, cheeses, and pastries with juices and coffees and tea. They have wireless Internet and a small gated patio. Though it is a small hotel, there are a variety of rooms. Some has "street views" with the typical shutters. The suite is across the garden. It has a living room area with large pull out couch and separate bathroom with shower/tub. The other room is the bedroom with nice bed, separate bathroom with shower. Radda is a nice point to use as a base to travel around Tuscany. The staff at Palazzo San Niccolo treated us kindly and were always friendly.

Review 111:Awful!!!! Common areas were pretty bad! Bugs and not clean at all! Terrible! We left next morning and lost our 3nights money! Worst: the photos at the web are not the hotel's!!!!!

Review 112:Dust under the bed - well I have to find something!

Review 113:Very Comfortable. Friendly staff. Fantastic location in a beautiful area of Tuscany. Would go back to the same hotel tomorrow!

Review 114:I liked everything about Palazzo San Niccolo. The location was great the town quaint and the food in the restaurants excellent. Tania at front reception was amazing. Excellent customer service.
