Reviews for Dormy Inn Premium Wakayama

Review 1:The size of the room was a tad small, albeit comfortable.

Review 2:The in-hotel onsen was fantastic. The hotel was also easy to locate and near to the train station. The free ramen every night was an excellent touch. The breakfast was also good, with a reasonable selection of Japanese food items. A new hotel, it had all the modern amenities which made our stay very comfortable.

Review 3:The location will help for an early morning departure from Kansai Airport. around 30 min. But the biggest surprise is the staff. They are doing the check in, then move to the kitchen and prepare and serve the noodles soup. very good by the way! The Onsen facility is just what you need after a long cold day of winter spent all around Osaka. Your body will thank you. Rooms are matching the Japanese standard. perfectly clean loaded with quality amenities. Look at the price of the same hotels with this quality of service and features, really it's difficult to find better.

Review 4:Really nothing to complain about! Except maybe the time/ distance if you just plan to visit Osaka city center. (45 Min)

Review 5:Staff are not too willing to help, may be its due to the English or that we are non Japanese.

Review 6:location close to Wakayama tain station, within 5 mins walk. Cleaniness. Good Japanase buffet breakfast

Review 7:Rooms are too small for comfort. Laundry dryer should be made free.

Review 8:Straightforward stay over hotel. Polite and helpful staff. The location is about 8 mins away from the Wakayama Station so is fairly convenient. The free ramen supper is a nice touch.

Review 9:NOTHING!

Review 10:1) Staff were always ready to help and friendly 2) Our Twin Room was Big( for Japanese standard) and comfortable 3) Hotspring Baths were a BIG PLUS and value for money 4) the FREE and DELICIOUS evening Ramen served from 9-11pm nightly was another BIG PLUS 5) About 5 mins walk ( without luggage) from JR Wakayama station

Review 11:the size of rooms are relative small.

Review 12:good customer service as we had keep our winter clothing on the last trip. Hotel own onsen is good if after a day of tiring trip. Complementary ramen gives you a lazy night to enjoy the hotel facilities for the evening.

Review 13:auto-activated light that turns on at night; bed too big for the size of room; prefer yukata to pajamas

Review 14:Friendly and helpful staff; good breakfast choices; comfortable bed and pillows; clean, well-maintained facilities

Review 15:Staff had a very poor understanding of English but having said that they did there best to assist wherever possible.

Review 16:Location and access to free laundry ans onsen

Review 17:Noisy room. A twin bed nearly occupies all space in room

Review 18:Cordial staff service, in particular the car park attendant. Front desk staff are polite and helpful. About 15 mins walk from wakayama train station.

Review 19:I think the room is a bit small ( around 15 to 16 sq m) even i have upgraded to extra large bed. My booking before the upgrade is 18 sq m.

Review 20:I love the onsen, especially the individual bathing area and the washing machine inside the onsen which enable you doing your laundry and enjoying your onsen at the same time. And i also love the free ramen offer by the hotel.

Review 21:Nothing!

Review 22:We loved the Dormy Premium for a two night stay in Wakayama. The breakfast was delicious and full of local offerings. We enjoyed the onsen along with the pajamas and slippers to wear during our stay. The rooms are pristinely clean and the staff very friendly. We were the only non-Asian guests and the staff did their best to communicate. Close to the JR station. Walkable!

Review 23:Attitude of staffs is good. Free noodle at night is surprising and heart warming. Hotel is clean, comfortable with good location near the railway station

Review 24:all good, nothing bad.

Review 25:Our flight arrived late and we called up the hotel at airport for a delayed late check-in, the hotel staff waited for us until midnight, which is so appreciated. the room is tidy and clean, bed is comfy, and the inhouse onsen is great.

Review 26:Breakfast not included Staff doesn't speak much of English Many Chinese tour group

Review 27:Onsen , especially the water! Amenity of Hotel is good the location of the hotel Very convenient to get there from Kansai Airport Reasonable price right next there is good izakaya as well

Review 28:Poor english in desk Breakfast menu is not cost effective

Review 29:Not bad location Water pressure is excellent Free soba in late night Vending machine in every floor

Review 30:beautiful onset (public bath), very clean, beds are firm, you pay very little extra for all you can eat Japanese breakfast and incredible delicious variety of foods. Close to JR line. Hotel is not expensive. High quality.

Review 31:At first they didnt want to give us a room with two seperate beds. We got a room with a ticking airconditiong and so they gave us a other room with two seperate beds of which they said they didn't have any.

Review 32:Shower was very powerfull. Nice beds. Close to the JR station.

Review 33:Although hotel advertises "all rooms non-smoking," we walked into our room and it had the slight smell of stale cigarettes. Turned out there are designated smoking cubicles in the hotel on several floors. The smoke smell seemed to get into the ventilation system.

Review 34:Comfortable bed, convenient location. Despite having a small room, it had more workable space than similar Japanese business hotels. Breakfast was extra -- good coffee and decent choices. Self-service laundry.

Review 35:Breakfast choice is limited for foreigner but is okay for Asian.

Review 36:Very central location, just few walks from train station and you can find a lot of restaurant nearby. Room is enough to fit for two big luggage. Compare to normal Japanese hotel standard, they already give you good space. Everything is new and morden inside hotel. Room is clean also the hot spring pool. Very nice and clean. Wifi is stable and fast. The only thing might need to improve is the choice of breakfast is limited. For me as an Asian I am satisfy about this. However if you are a foreign, you might find a little bit limited of choice. However you are easily to find the alternatives nearby with gold price. So it is not a problem.

Review 37:We can't control our room temp, it seems hot, but my son room temp is OK.

Review 38:Helpful Staffs Service (especially the men with glasses working hard & helpful). Location near JR about 10 mins walk. Rooms with an extra door to avoid noise. Breakfast (1200 Yen/person) with various foods. Free noodles provided at night. It's good to have a hot spring & facilities is ok.

Review 39:The room window cannot be seen through. Perhaps it has an alley view.

Review 40:The onsen facility and free ramen supper are a nice touch. You can actually refer to the in room TV screen for real time onsen occupancy so that you can avoid the crowd - that's attention to details that worths a praise.

Review 41:extremely cramped with no room to move around. Limited space for baggage. The window looked directly into the wall of the next building and hence made the room dark and depressing.

Review 42:had all the amenities, good wifi.

Review 43:Rooms a bit small but comfortable.

Review 44:Clean and efficient. Love the daily complimentary noodles. Welcome drinks, ready umbrellas, big online screen to look at Maps are certainly a pleasant surprises......well done ( aprt from the obvious strategic location ie short walk to train station, mall and shops nearby...

Review 45:The TV in the onsen was too loud.

Review 46:Comfortable stay in a city that isn't very happening. Free drinks are provided in the lobby at most times of the day and free ramen is available from 9pm to 11pm. Strong Wi-Fi in the room.

Review 47:There was a mistake in the room keys they gave us the first time so we enter a room which contains another person's luggage, we immediately informed the reception and they realized their mistake and was apologetic about it.

Review 48:The location is excellent, our room views the street below and since it's just one night, I was not able to try all the facilities they have to offer. But anyway, the stay was comfortable for both my mom and I.

Review 49:The onsen in the Dormy Inn is awesome!! This is a wonderful place to stay... 2 blocks from the JR Station. There is free soup noodle in the night and a great paid breakfast buffet. Don't forget to visit the awesome onsen!!

Review 50:I stayed in a business room here before flying out of Osaka. Great location. It is a couple of blocks straight out the main entrance from the train station. Beautiful hotel. Looks new or at least well maintained. The free noodle bar is great for those people who (like me) were traveling to this hotel and didn't really get a chance to eat dinner. Plus it looked like most restaurants were already closed. The bath and steam room were also very well maintained and nicely done. The desk staff working the night I was there was very fluent in English and they were able to answer any questions I had.

Review 51:Breakfast time till 9 am only. Would be perfect if it can be extended till 10 am.

Review 52:Good buffet breakfast, especially the Japanese food. Nice onsen with just the right water temperature. Free ramen at night.

Review 53:very helpful and friendly staff; we travelled by bicycle and the staff helped us to store first the bikes and later the huge flight boxes; we could borrow the hotel's baggage cart to transport all our luggage to the station; Wakayama station close by; comfortable beds; nice indoor onsen (women onsen is secured by pin code); massage service on-site; complimentary night snack in form of soba

Review 54:Room is quite small. OK for 1 person, but would be very tight for 2, especially if there's large luggage. Absolutely no view from the window.

Review 55:Bath and public facilities are nice. Window opens Breakfast (extra charge) looked good, but I didn't have time to eat. Had chargers for mobile phones (many different connectors).

Review 56:The pillows where not good

Review 57:Excellent location just a couple of minutes walking from the JR station. English speaking staff. The free complimentary dinner is great, is about half a portion of a regular ramen, which is great for the budget travel. The room was huge for japanese standards, but the best thing was the bed as it was a queen size bed, which is extremely rare in Japan for these kind of hotels. The onsen is one of the best we have been in Japan, with three baths at different temperature. I would love to come back and stay in the same place.

Review 58:Wifi signal was weak to the point of being inoperable, we faced a wall from the window and the size of the room/bed was somewhat limited.

Review 59:Service was excellent, the place is easy to reach from JR Wakayama and the furnishings were excellent.

Review 60:Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.

Review 61:Wifi free & fast. BBF..lots of variety, delicious & keep refilluntil last minute. Rooms are extremely clean. Staff are very polite.

Review 62:Arrive late at the hotel , staff is very helpful with the car park(1000 per day), room is small but it has everything u need and clean. I'm happy for what I pay for

Review 63:The pyjamas. Would much prefer Yukata

Review 64:Loved the free ramen and the lovely onsen. It was so handy to the railway station and so much cheaper to stay there rather than at Shirahama. great service.

Review 65:No English speaking people at reception. Dormy should arrange at least English speaking person per shift otherwise everything thing ok.
