Reviews for Relais Vignale
Review 1:Our room faced the street and we heard road noise from having our windows open, but it was our choice to open the windows.
Review 2:Location. Right in the heart of Radda.
Review 3:This place was ok. It claims to be a 4-star hotel but it is really a 3-star hotel. It was clean enough, but the decor was very dated and the bed extremely uncomfortable. Location is fine for doing wine tours, but really you should go to stay at a vineyard if that's really what you want to do. Most people staying were old Americans on tours. The restaurant was fine, but really, really overpriced for what it was.
Review 4:Our room was facing the main road (and a rubbish collection site). We were awakened by the noise from the traffic before dawn everyday. We were told that most of the classic rooms are facing the main road.
Review 5:Nice terrace for breakfast; friendly staff at the restaurant.
Review 6:Just an incredibly beautiful hotel and property in and equally attractive and intimate Chianti hill town. Wonderful room, excellent dinner and THE best breakfast on my trip. Warm, friendly and helpful staff. Free parking. Great views overlooking vineyards and rolling hills. The best.
Review 7:Very few English channels on the TV
Review 8:Mettia the bartender and Bruno were outstanding. The rest of the the staff was very good. I don't have any complaints .
Review 9:We stay in a superior room, which was accross the road from the main building, the view into the valley is breathtaking but... room itself was a little dark, small bathroom with just shower, TV was tiny looked lost on the wall, all in all in a stunning hotel our room felt a little mean!
Review 10:The location is beautiful, the hotel facilities excellent.
Review 11:My Dad had a room with gorgeous view and they had a lift to that floor. I suppose though, that the hotel's not great for disabled with walking problems as getting to the meals down old stone steps was a little tricky but still possible with help. We made it work but it was a little challenging.
Review 12:Beautiful view, kind staff, comfortable, classy, very well located. Helpful with parent with disabilities though not suited for some.
Review 13:The night receptionist GianLuca Maggi was incredibly helpfull and professional. The hotel is beatiful, clena, excellenty decorated. The town is a jewel in the Tuscan countryside. 5 stars to the hotel!
Review 14:The staff was rude and indifferent. I paid an upgrade 1 week before but they tried to give us a different room (smaller). The restaurant has mediocre food and bad service.
Review 15:The pool can be cleaner. More us of the garden could be better. Also try to get a room with the toscana view, if possible.
Review 16:Beautiful facility, the rooms are nicely decorated and very romantic. The breakfast is the best we had during the whole holidays. They have a wonderful restaurant which the view is absolutely amazing and food serves is delicious. The staff is also very kind.
Review 17:Wifi wasn't available is some areas including our room
Review 18:We stayed there for me r couple of days back in July. It was a famy trip, the location and hotel are amazing but maid the difference was the incredible staff! Can't wait to go back!
Review 19:Wi-fi didn't always work and the parking was a bit challenging on the hill and in the parking spots. Would hope they could fix the wi-fi. Wouldn't stop me from staying here again though.
Review 20:Loved the location - beautiful views from our room - absolutely picturesque! Radda is a lovely town. Our suite was quaint and perfect! Would stay here again any time!
Review 21:If we had to put something, we would say the wifi is a little weak and it was only that my partner needed it for work that it was a problem at times.
Review 22:Location was fantastic. Staff were really lovely and couldn't do more. The facilities and views were amazing. We loved this hotel and will highly recommend it.
Review 23:The location is great and the staff is very helpful. They organized our wine tour and lunch with the taxi company. The pool was used during the hot days we experienced. Close to restaurants. Wine tasting in the hotel. Views are stunning. Enough shaded parking.
Review 24:Our reception to the hotel was amazing. Mr Patrizio was at the front desk that evening and he took care of our every need with such care for detail. All the other staff too at the front desk were very helpful and pleasant, making us really feel at home. We had a wonderful stay thanks to your staff.
Review 25:The staff was not courteous specially near the pool. The food is very expensive and they did not tell us about extra bed in advance
Review 26:The location is nice
Review 27:Excellent location in the heart of Tuscany, within a short picturesque drive of Florence, Pisa and Sienna. Great pool and patios with views of vineyards and olive groves. Excellent breakfast and great local wines served in the outdoor patio.
Review 28:The service was excellent in all areas of the hotel. Especially the front desk - very accommodating. The location and the views are amazing!!! And, the flowers smell fabulous!
Review 29:The service could have been a lot better. For example, you had to go into the bar from the outside terrace to get canapés for yourself rather than having them served. This meant that nobody really did and they sat there exposed to flies with the cheese curling up. Wasps were a problem at breakfast which would have been alleviated if the plates had been cleared. You also had to go and request your coffee etc. the bathroom was a little rustic for the calibre of the hotel and we had to ask for bathrobes and slippers.
Review 30:Beautiful view from the room! Standard of cleanliness was good. Swimming pool also very nice although safety railings spoiled it a bit. There were lots of little terraces and a good selection of public areas albeit that these could have been better utilized. The hotel had lots of original features and character.
Review 31:Absolutely everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel, rooms, location and staff were all outstanding. The views from the pool and terrace are to die for. The village is also a delight with great little bars and restaurants.
Review 32:Breakfast was sloppy, not clean and very messily laid out. Cheeses and cold cuts very messy, fruits and deserts extremely sloppy. Toaster hardly worked. Room was quaint but rather small and too many steps to reach. Bed not very comfortable. .
Review 33:Location, view and friendlyness of staff. Dinners were very nice, well served and fair value. Pool facilities excellent, surroundings well kept. Bathroom well equipped and comfortable.
Review 34:The drinks were expensive comparative to drinks in local bars. Very steep driveway to the car park (our hire car Fiat Panda struggled!)
Review 35:The fantastic view everywhere you look made this hotel special, from the pool and the restaurant and most recreational rooms. The hotel is in a great location - right in the heart of Radda which is charming (medieval) and has a suprisingly large choice of cafes and restaurants, plus shops which you can walk to in under 5 minutes. The hotel reception were very good in providing us with walking maps with English directions Hotel was in a traditional style but clean with lots of areas to sit and have a drink or read. Pool area is very nice - we had it to ourselves on more than one occasion
Review 36:The beds were extremely uncomfortable. My husband had to put a cushion under the mattress to stop the sag. The bed linen had holes in it. Breakfast was very poor with little choice.
Review 37:The views, quite stunning. The bedroom was generous ans airy.
Review 38:The property is so beautifu and has so much history. Our room overlooked a little garden which then overlooked the pool and the countryside. The town of Radda is small but wonderful. We had a fabulous meal at a little restaurant up the hill. La Bottega--make reservations. The views are beautiful everywhere at Relais Vignale. We didn't have a chance to try their restaurant , but the outdoor setting is lovely.
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:We have stayed here many times and it never disappoints. You walk out of your hotel and straight into Woderful Radda. The staff are superb and parking is free. Radda is very central and a great choice for touring the Chianti wineries as well as San Gimignano , Castellina and Siena. Meraviglioso !
Review 41:Hard not to like anything. It sums up Tuscany.
Review 42:Friendly staff helped where're possible. Quiet and secluded location in the heart of Radda. Restaurant and terrace offer fantastic views of the surrounding wine country.
Review 43:That we had to leave.
Review 44:Big comfy bed, big bathroom and good size room. Well decorated and super cosy seating area with a huge fire place...swimming pool, and the valley view from the terrace. Oh, almost forgot. The wine from the vineyard is divine!
Review 45:The evening meal in the hotel restaurant was disappointing and expensive. A real shame...
Review 46:The ambience of the hotel and the view were 'to die for'
Review 47:The breakfast is not so good for vegetarians.
Review 48:Very good position to travel to the wineries. The personnel of the hotelis very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The view is verypicturesque.
Review 49:Not enough variety in restaurant menu but there were wonderful restaurants nearby. Room 44 can hear noisy people in room 43. Somewhat overpriced.
Review 50:Quiet location right on the edge of town. Wonderful breakfast and wine tasting right on property.
Review 51:No taxis in the area. There are plenty of places to eat in Radda but if you want to go anywhere outside of Gaoile you'll need your own car.
Review 52:o The staff! From check in to checkout they were pleasant, helpful, and super friendly. o Easy transportation to/from Florence or Siena (I'd recommend Florence). o Great food in the kitchen, particularly the breakfast buffet. o Super friendly with our 14 month old son. o Right on the route for L'Eroica. My family was able to see the ride without leaving the hotels. o Also would be a good base for any bike rides in Tuscany as evidenced by the different high-end bike tours who were also at the hotel.
Review 53:Tiny complaints .. Rooms were a bit dark. Would have been good to have a bath as well as a shower.
Review 54:Great staff, food was excellent, rooms very clean and spacious. All the staff were friendly, helpful and good fun! We loved the barman..
Review 55:The mattress on the bed was not comfortable, way too firm. WIFI was only free in the common areas. We found that to be inconvenient.
Review 56:We had a fabulous four day stay at Relais Vignale. Our room was very comfortable and typically Tuscan. The view from our room was beautiful and picturesque. We loved that Relais Vignale is a working agriturismo. While lounging at the pool area we had a spectacular view of the farmlands. The staff are extremely attentive and personable. They are so warm and kind and made us feel right at home. The food at Relais Vignale is absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast selection each morning. We feasted on the typical Tuscan style steak one evening and were completely satisfied! The selection of wines was first rate. We enjoyed a wine tasting hosted by Relais sommelier Cristiano. He is very knowledgeable. We loved the opportunity to get together on the terrace and in the other charming rooms that were available for reading and relaxing. We would definitely recommend Relais Vignale and hope to return one day.
Review 57:It's a very old hotel which wasn't updated for at least 20 years in my opinion, and that is easily seen in the rooms and hotel facilities. The restaurant is very pricey and not very good, but the breakfast is decent and quite good. So they claim to be a 4 star hotel, but in reality, it's an old hotel which charge way more than they should.
Review 58:The hotel is very nice, has a great view from the room and good service from it's staff. The wine shop is good, though doesn't really have a lot of supply. The rooms are big, but very old.
Review 59:We booked a Superior room and e-mailed a request for a bath, mentioning that this stay was for my 50th birthday. Unfortunately, the bath was minute and the room small and dark. The receptionist was v pleasant and showed us 2 further Superior rooms, but both were not the luxury we had been looking forward to and so we paid a supplement of 30 euros per night to upgrade to a Deluxe room. While v happy with the room and bathroom, we felt that it was expensive and were disappointed that the staff had no discretion to do anything in recognition that this was a special trip for my 50th birthday.
Review 60:The location was on the edge of Radda, across the road from restaurants and a few small bars. We upgraded to a Deluxe room and the bathroom with jacuzzi bath was v modern and clean. A welcome drink of local wine (excellent) could be taken on the lovely terrace with amazing views or in the comfortable lounge area. The barman/wine waiter went out of his way to assist us in choosing a local wine when we returned one evening, which was suprisingly cheap and readily offered us local nibbles whether with wine or coffee taken in our room. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety and all fresh.
Review 61:The bed was a little hard.
Review 62:We absolutely loved our stay here. The building has so much history and has such an interesting layout. The view from the balconies, terrace and pool are breath taking, and while having breakfast in the morning you can watch the fog roll over the hills. The hotel is also situated in the perfect spot to explor Radda and the surrounding cities. We would definitely come back again.
Review 63:Nothing.
Review 64:Fabulous location at edge of Radda which meant we could park up the car for a day or two! Beautiful building with authentic Tuscan rooms. Staff lovely, bar staff and service particularly good! Pretty restaurant with lovely views over the Tuscan farmland. Would definitely recommend.
Review 65:The breakfast is very good, but the same, without one variation in the 5 days stayed there.
Review 66:The best is the terace, beautiful view over the Chianti hills, the stuff is trying to help with any request one may have and good location if you want to visit the area.
Review 67:Access to the parking was quite tricky, there are a few holes that need urgent repair. The bar should offer some more wines by the glass.
Review 68:Amazing location and view, comfortable and spacious rooms, great pool area, nice breakfast (above average for Italy)
Review 69:From the moment my husband and I walked into Relais Vignale we knew we had chosen well. From top to bottom the place is wonderful. We loved the views, the quaint street, the outside dining, the delicious food, the pool, the cozy rooms to sit and read, the outdoor terrace to sip a glass of wine, the caring staff, and very comfortable bed. Everything was perfection. We would definitely come back to Relais Vignale.
Review 70:Mattress could have been a little more comfortable/soft. Pool could be open a little longer for an evening swim.
Review 71:The atmosphere was great. Staff very helpful. Breakfast had a nice assortment. Pool was nice just a bit cool. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Nice towels and water pressure was fantastic. We ate at the restaurant the first night with a 10% discount and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Nice little town and the Pizza Pie restaurant across the street is a must!! Overall one of the best hotels in Italy during our trip.
Review 72:No free wifi in rooms?really hard to fathom as rest of hotel is excellent.
Review 73:Lovely spacious room with great views over countryside, vineyards and forests.saw wild boar and deer from window in room at twilight!!Very helpful and polite staff and excellent restaurant.many comfortable lounge areas to relax and good pool area as well.
Review 74:We had dinner at the restaurant the first night and were extremely disappointed, not in the quality of the food, but (surprisingly) the service. The brought out my entree but not my wife's saying it would be a few more minutes. After 20 min and us sharing my entree I finally told them to cancel hers and bring us the check. We also heard another table that had the same issue and were not happy either.
Review 75:The location was great. When I booked it I knew it was in a great location in the Tuscany countryside but did not realize there was a small medieval town as well. There were a number of cute little shops and restaurants. We had a suite which had a covered patio that looked out over the vineyards which was great.
Review 76:single room dark, shutters very stiff, bedside lamp inadequate for reading in bed.
Review 77:spacious, comfortable sitting rooms; quiet location in village and close to eating places etc. especially Bar Dante across the road, and forchette three minutes away, where food is better in both than Relais Vignale.
Review 78:No free WiFi in the room. The free WiFi in the common areas was not always working properly. The beds are rather firm.
Review 79:Excellent location with friendly and very helpful staff. Beautiful rooms with great views. The decoration of the hotel is outstanding. Very good breakfast buffet and lunch/dinner possibilities in the afternoon/evening. Free private parking, very nice pool and wine tasting.
Review 80:None...
Review 81:We loved this place. I was looking for a place near Florence yet not in the city and it was perfect and it is even closer to Siena. The rooms were great with onsite parking and a pool. The view is incredible and still next to town for additional dining choices. When we come back to this region, we will stay here again
Review 82:We could not imagine any facility that would compare to the Relais Vignale. It has everything, an amazeing view, relaxing poolside, exceptional dinners & breakfast, bar service, great wine tastings facility, wondreful rooms to relax & socialize. Super location
Review 83:can't think of anything.
Review 84:the scenery was breathtaking, serice and food outstanding, the wine from their vineyard made our stay all the more special...with all our senses peaked the villa made for a perfectly romantic trip through the tuscan countryside.
Review 85:Bed was Very Firm,, No wi-fi in the room for free you had to go down to the bar for that. You pay a good fee for the room wi-fi should be in the room for free not have to pay 15.00 Euro to have them turn it on in the room.
Review 86:Pool, Big bathroom, safe in room, Breakfast, parking,, Very Nice Staff, Terraces and flowers.
Review 87:Everybody went out of their way to make us feel at home
Review 88:Location

Review 90:This hotel is heaven on earth. It is amazing.
Review 91:Bed was too hard (and we like a hard bed). Room neede a freshening up - small window.
Review 92:Location and general property.
Review 93:We thought that the staff made the hotel, every member of the staff with whom we came in contact was excellent
Review 94:Beautiful setting in the hills overlooking the vineyard - wonderful breakfast and the staff were extremely helpful!
Review 95:The grounds and the view are gorgeous. The facilities are fantastic and made for an amazing vacation. We would come back here in a heartbeat.
