Reviews for Hotel La Rosetta
Review 1:I actually assumed that breakfast would be included! My window view was a wall!
Review 2:The location was great, very central. The cleanliness of the room and ensuite. Friendly people.
Review 3:1) Lots of stairs which makes it difficult with big suitcase ( very typical to Italy in general ..) 2) heating in winter is on only from 6pm and room can get little cold in the winter. I Used extra blanket at night
Review 4:Hotel is in the heart of Perugia old city - it's beautiful inside and out , it maintained its old fashioned Italian style with modern twists .. With very reasonable price. You canorder coffe (3 euro ) / breakfast to your room in the morning , and there is also great breakfast buffet in the hotel (7 euro)
Review 5:All the staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English. The room was bigger than I expected for the price I paid and the hotel is in the best position for major sights and bars as well as transport. It was my first visit and I would definitely return to La Rosetta.
Review 6:The hotel is gloomy and in urgent need of refurbishment. Although there were a great many empty rooms the one we were given had a single window overlooking a dark and very narrow passageway and the neighbours on the other side could look directly at us. The breakfast room is depressing and filled with loud music and the breakfast offerings were limited and not particularly appetising.
Review 7:Good location in the old section at the top of Perugia's main street.
Review 8:Front desk people are "ññhee" (not all, just the guys). They gave us a room with dirty walls and the beds were next the walls so my aunt refused to sleep there.
Review 9:Location is unbeatable. Service at the restaurant is great.
Review 10:Rooms have not been updated, but that's the hotel staying true to its original look. Rooms are dark and musty smelling. Beds uncomfortable. Hotel Hallway lights are sensored, you are walking into dark halls until it sensors you. No parking - be prepared to walk to a paid lot at least half a mile from hotel (walk and use escalators to and from parking lot). Breakfast was not good. I was not impressed and noticed that orange juice pitcher had mold around rim (a sign that they just refill and not wash daily).
Review 11:Location.
Review 12:The breakfast was really poor, the male staff in the breakfast room was really rude and unhelpful, fortunately the woman serving was really nice to make up for his bad manners.
Review 13:No bad experience.
Review 14:Older hotel, but looked after. For instance, the facilities in the room had been updated. The A/C was new and quiet. Fabulous setting.
Review 15:There was black mold on grouting in the bath, the shower aparatus was loose, small patches of black goo on the bedroom wall and plaster flaking off the ceiling.
Review 16:The attitude of the maids and staff was excellent except for one man on the desk.
Review 17:We had no adverse experiences but the hotel is somewhat tired - not surprising perhaps given the attractive room rate we received.
Review 18:The hotel is in a marvellous location for anyone seeking a base from which to explore this fascinating old city on foot.
Review 19:Wifi a bit patchy on upper floors.
Review 20:Superb location in the centre of the city. Lovely building with very friendly and helpful staff. Very good value in late August.
Review 21:We would have preferred a better choice for breakfast, especially hot food. Also we experienced noise from adjoining rooms.
Review 22:The location was excellent and we liked the old character of the hotel.
Review 23:Sound proof is not good enough and noise from outside easily came in the room through windows.
Review 24:Good location and easy access to city center and bus stop etc.
Review 25:Only problem was car parking; not available at the hotel and we had to use and pay for public car parking some distance from the hotel.
Review 26:Very comfortable classic hotel, centrally placed so great for walking around Perugia, and with great staff. Restaurant looked excellent, though we didn`t use it.
Review 27:The fittings in the bathroom were rather large, so not much space. Don't like shower curtains, they stick to you when you try to wash! The hair dryer was stuck together with tape & had a loose wire, which looked dangerous!
Review 28:The restaurant was good, the room & bed were comfortable and the location was excellent.
Review 29:The sheets were dirty and had not been changed from the previous person. Objects were found between the sheets. When the front desk was told they did not seem bothered
Review 30:the location
Review 31:bathroom smaller than some small safe noisy on a Friday or Saturday night
Review 32:The frescoed ceiling in the bedroom - only one in the hotel was fantastic room size was enormous breakfast was good
Review 33:Breakfast was the poorest we've had on our travels in Italy; poor quality of limited offering. Decided not to eat dinner there based on experience of breakfast. They need to lift their game.
Review 34:Friendly, competent staff. Good end room, 123 with great view.
Review 35:Hotel was advertised as having private car park. However on arrival had to use public car park. However access was good with escalators back up to the hotel and a price of 17 Euro for 24 hours parking
Review 36:Nice traditional hotel in great central location. Very good price
Review 37:Parking is offsite, expensive and charges seem to be variable depending on when one needs one's car returned. Staff cuts have resulted in no assistance with luggage. Hallways need refurbishing.
Review 38:The location is great. This is an oldy world hotel that we have regularly visited but has been recently taken over by new owners. The restaurant is very good with great staff, wifi is excellent and staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are traditional Italian, comfortable enough and clean
Review 39:The position of the hotel was excellent and our room with a balcony over the internal courtyard was perfect. Lovely medieval hilltop town with great food.
Review 40:room was very dusty, but was cleaned immediately VERY expensive parking in public garage (17 € / day)
Review 41:very well located, nice stuff, good breakfast very quiet !!
Review 42:(Public) parking a long way from hotel, but then the town is on top of a hill, so no hotel parking available as normal in these places
Review 43:Excellent breakfast by Italian standards. Located in centre of beautiful city
Review 44:The wifi in our room was a bit patchy, but this wasn't a big issue for us. The overall style and decor of the hotel have dated a bit, but again - not a major issue!
Review 45:Amazing location at the heart of Perugia. Good value for money - we had a great stay.
Review 46:The parking area it's a little bit far and it's actually a public parking witch is coast about 16€ per day.
Review 47:It's in the middle of the city so you have everything around you.
Review 48:Given we were going to evening concerts at Jazz festival, dinner could have started earlier so we did not feel so rushed.
Review 49:Fantastic location. Lovely quiet room. Great value for money.
Review 50:Staff has been there for 20+ years, tired, resentful. Hotel advertises itself as having been renovated, this is not true. It is a musty old hotel accented with stained rugs and outdated fixtures. The kleenex box falls off the wall when you use it, hairdryer is ancient, cups are plastic. This property has little resemblance to what is advertised. Given location, the nice courtyard, and the potential here, with it's historic bones, this is a lost opportunity for this hotel to turn itself into a really renovated boutique high-class 4 start hotel. Don't be deceived by the advertising or hotel photos. Everything form the dismal breakfast, to the surly desk staff, to the uncomfortable shaky beds is what you will find. How utterly disappointing!!!
Review 51:Location only! AC works ok. Ladies who serve breakfast are sweet.
Review 52:Quality of response to questions at Reception depended on which receptionist was on duty.Breakfast badly needs a makeover. Only Italian television channels available.
Review 53:Location is excellent. Perugia's Mini metro to the main railway station is superb.
Review 54:For such a lovely hotel, the breakfast was disappointing. But that said, it didn't detract at all from our enjoyment of the place.
Review 55:The room was amazing - frescoes on the ceiling, Juliet balcony overlooking the main thoroughfare, beautifully furnished and quiet.
Review 56:There was a restaurant, and it was not open, although we on booking.com it said there was a restaurant. It may apparently be open in a month. Otherwise, there was nothing to dislike.
Review 57:The location, the staff and the really nice hotel
Review 58:The two twins beds they pushed together for us were terrible to sleep on. We have stayed in other places in Europe that did the same thing, but these beds were very uncomfortable and were always pushing apart to leave a 3" crack inbetween!
Review 59:Location was perfect for seeing downtown Perugia.
Review 60:The place looks bad and the "lobby" As well As the breakfast room needs updating. Too old and not to American standards
Review 61:The location was good. The room was clean
Review 62:Nothing. (since when does Perugia also charge city tax? Isn't it supposed to be a cultural city?)
Review 63:The palace is in the center, close to weekend market, duomo, garden, restaurants and panorama views. It is very easy to reach by public elevator, children friendly indeed. The room is comfortable and specious. Wifi works sometimes but that is least important for me.
Review 64:I didn't check air conditioning, because I stayed here in May. Please check it to the hotel re Booking.com site, if you travel summertime.
Review 65:Classic atomosphere of this hotel fits for the one of this city.
Review 66:Comfy bed but very hard pillows! A lot of noise at night from the bars nearby but if you shut the windows they are totally soundproof. Bathroom a little tired but plenty of hot water. Breakfast just ok.
Review 67:A lovely' Romeo and Juliet' type court yard entrance. Quite an old fashioned hotel but that is part of the charm. Excellent service, helpful reception staff. Huge bedroom with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Lovely fluffy white bath towels changed daily.
Review 68:The rooms with windows on the main street may be noisy when there are big events in town (which happens quite often). The free internet connection is not very fast and stable (probably due to the thick walls of old buildings). The breakfast is fine by Italian standards, but it may be less generous than what other Europeans may be used to, to start their day.
Review 69:The hotel is very well located to explore the medieval centre of Perugia. The building itself and its frescoed rooms contribute to the beauty of the city. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious.
Review 70:Our room was great and overlooked both the piazza and the Main Street. View was great but things can get very noisy at night as sounds, even in what appeared to be normal conversation, echoed up greatly to our third floor room. Staff was more than willing to move us to an interior courtyard room but when one of the same size wasn't available we decided to stay. Wish the restaurant was open.
Review 71:Excellent location at Piazza Italia right at the end of the almost all pedestrian center of the city but transportation still has access should you be using car services or local tour guides. At €99 for a deluxe room that even had a day bed, it was a great value. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 72:Great location for hotel in the historic centre of the City. The 90 year old hotel is starting to show its age in a few places, but was clean and the staff attentive. The buffet breakfast couldnt be faulted and all in all the stay was good value.
Review 73:The frigo bar was not filled and also the pillows was not comfortable
Review 74:Room was spacious and location is great The valet parking helped me a lot specialy that in center the parking was so difficult The valet was one of the best service that I did appreciate Thanks
Review 75:The bed was not very comfortable....two nights was enough for us.
Review 76:The location of this hotel was perfect for exploring Perugia, but it was the charm and character of the hotel that impressed me. The staff are friendly and very professional, and it all has a lovely 'old school' feel about it. Would highly recommend La Rosetta.
Review 77:I loved this hotel, it was in the centre of everything. We stayed in the corner suite with the fresco ceiling, it was magnificent. For a special experience be sure to ask for this room.
Review 78:None
Review 79:Relaxed attitude of staff, cleanliness and help with baggage deposit after morning check out. On-the-spot help to book at better price through the web.
Review 80:The bed in room 46 is terribly uncomphortable although I'm told that those in other rooms are fine. In general in Italian hotels it would be helpful to English speakers to have two or three English cable channels. CNN just doesn't cut it.
Review 81:Lovely large room Excellent shower Balcony overlooking courtyard Position in old town Excellent, helpful staff
Review 82:They are closing the heating some hours in the afternoon and night, also when there are temperature below zero.
Review 83:Nice old hotel with a good restaurant. Placed in the middle of the old town.
Review 84:The hotel is older and shower was a little strange, but this was minor.
Review 85:Delicious breakfast; comfortable bed; good wi-fi connection; great location in the heart of the old town. Staff spoke English and were very helpful. The room was spotless.
Review 86:Spot light outside window until late Shower rose needed maintenance
Review 87:The location Staff assistance and friendliness Breakfast choice extensive Wifi excellent Cleanliness excellent Additonal evening meal option excellent value Restaurant service and value Room size, style and furnishings
Review 88:Single beds were very narrow and boucy, so difficult to get comfortable. Old fashioned bathroom for a 4 star hotel. For the price we paid we were obviously given the cheapest room!
Review 89:Breakfast very good quality and quantity, breakfast staff very pleasant. Excellent position in centre town.
Review 90:All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. My room was cleaned immaculately every day (I stayed 5 nights). The breakfast was great and after one day, the servers remembered that I wanted a cappuccino. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
Review 91:Noise from the street can get loud, but keeping windows closed helps.
Review 92:It is very easy to find, easy parking and access. Nice breakfasts, great location. Large rooms, and baths
Review 93:Location. The beautiful linen, cleanliness, the old beautifully maintained cedar furniture with extras. The view of the thousands of folk at the chocolate festival
Review 94:Although it was very clean and comfortable, room 56 was not real quietbecause the window opened out above a bar on the piazza (and to behonest, we were there during "Eurochocolate" so there was ahuge crowd). However, by the time we went to bed the noise had died downand we did get a good night's sleep until street sweeping beganearly in the am.
Review 95:A clean, comfortable, characteristic hotel, with a beautifully frescoedceiling in our room that was centrally located. The sheets and towelswere fantastic! The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfastwas good; scrambled eggs, bacon, variety of yogurts, breads and veryfresh cornetti and cappucino on request.
Review 96:My room should have been a bit more soundproofed, but it is just a detail.
Review 97:All staff are so, so kind and proactive. We had a problem and they have solved it brilliantly. Many rooms are very spacious. Great value for money. The location is simply terrific, in the heart of the city center. I recommend it.
Review 98:Lobby & access to elevator need renovation
Review 99:Excellent location, at the heart of the historical area. Has parking (paying) Some rooms have gorgeous ceilings Very good breakfast
Review 100:There was a strong stench from the drainage in the bathroom. Noise from the street was quite loud and lasted into the wee hours.
Review 101:The location is right next to the center of Perugia. The room was large. The bed and furniture were comfortable.
Review 102:There was mold on the bathroom ceiling, it seemed like no renovation work has been done for a long time and the parking was rather far and 17EUR/day .
Review 103:The bathroom had both a tub and a shower cabin, the location was good, just at the start of the pedestrian area.
Review 104:Service in restaurant was exaggeratedly formal and verging on the ridiculous. Quite polite though.
Review 105:A charming hotel that an Edwardian traveller would have appreciated and probably did. All marble tiles and elaborate plumbing fixtures. Slightly faded glory but all the more enchanting for that.
Review 106:Indifferent welcome on arrival. Our room was not serviced on the first day until we arrived back at around 5.30 pm until we complained and were told, incredibly, that there was only one maid to clean the 80+ rooms - but that she was very good - poor woman! Breakfast was very poor.
Review 107:The location was excellent.
Review 108:The photos are not a correct representation of the hotel. It is dated and decorated with cheap and ugly furniture. The breakfast is very poor. It has no selection and everyday it is the same junk.
Review 109:Location. It is walking distance to everything.
Review 110:Dated hotel, room old, bathroom poor, breakfast a joke, really poor selection...
Review 111:The personnel wad real good, really trying to make your stay pleasant.
Review 112:Offer was for half board...but restaurant closes at 2100hrs so we wasted money. Too expensive for what it is.
Review 113:Location is excellent and breakfast staff extraordinarily nice.
Review 114:Limited food in restaurant. Steps up to front - not sure if there isdisabled access.
Review 115:High-ceilinged bedroom, large bathroom, gold furniture, 4* serviceand location!
Review 116:The breakfast very poor for a four star hotel, the reception just typical, not so helpful, it was the jazz festival and everything was fully booked and in hotels and restaurants you did not get good services, I would retry Perugia on a different time of year
Review 117:The parking, the wifi, the location, the room
Review 118:For a Hotel of this quality the breakfast could have been better.
Review 119:The Hotel is located near P Italia in the old town and is easily reached by bus from the Rail Station. Was a very good location to explore the sights of Perugia. The staff provided good service and advice and the Wifi was excellent. Our room was large and very spacious and contained everything including safe, fridge lounge and table. Although expensive it was worth the experience.
Review 120:Very nice and clean! In the center of the city! Parking is near! Good breakfast!!!
Review 121:Room was a bit cool.
Review 122:situated in historical point
Review 123:Noisy neighbours
Review 124:Good breakfast
Review 125:Spacious Rooms , paintings,...friendly staff.... And The JACUZZI
Review 126:I was expecting the breakfast to be better. It was a very average breakfast but not bad.
Review 127:Location was great the wifi was also sufficient
Review 128:Room OK, clean, comfortable.
Review 129:Lighting and decoration a bit dull
Review 130:Clean warm rooms
Review 131:Excellent location
Review 132:Excellent Location very central
Review 133:Good location, on the Main Street, a few minutes walk from minimetro.
Review 134:Perfect location right on the Grand Canal!
Review 135:- Rude staff at the reception during check-in. - "Standard" breakfast
Review 136:- Great location! - Good room
