Surrounded by a park and the valley of the Venta River, the Virkas Muiza occupies a historic German mansion in a very quiet location, 20 minutes from the famous waterfall and the center of Kuldiga.
Each hotel room has a different interior and there are no 2 identical rooms in the hotel. Some rooms have 13 ft-high ceilings and big windows. The oldest part of the hotel has smaller, compact rooms with small windows.
Next to the Virkas Muiza, there is a parking lot and places to have a picnic. You can rent bicycles, and the hotel also organizes horseback riding excursions and trips to a local ceramics workshop.

Review 1：I wasn´t used to such voice of a heating system, but could sleep anyway. That voice disturbed only little. I could feel some springs in the bed mattress.
Review 2：Old building in a peaceful location. Lovely room for breakfast, decorated with rustic style. Bicycles for rent.
Review 3：I am 190 and the bed was too short for me- if You are close or above 2 meters than definitely bed will be short. I was alone and had a double room and double bed- so i was ok.
Review 4：Don't be put off by first impressions of the (to be blunt: sketchy) reception area and hallways; the rooms themselves have been redone very nicely (some of the nicest budget rooms we saw during a month in the Baltics), as has the dining area. A little bit of a walk from the historic centre, but quite good value for money.

Review 7：Breakfast not included in the price, but for an extra 4 euros per personwe got really nice and simple one. Even though I mentioned the daybefore that I am a vegetarian, there were still some sausages and meatin our breakfast deal (I really don't like that they wasted foodlike that) and it was a little bit cold in the hotel dining room, butmaybe because we were the only travelers at the time and they didn'twant to turn on the heating system just for us.
Review 8：The friendly receptionist gave us the city map and explained where tofind things in Kuldīga. We had a nice and comfy bed, it was nice, cleanand warm in the room.
Review 9：This is my second visit to Kuldiga and I stayed at Virkas Muiza again after several years. The hotel is really nice, the staff is polite and helpful. I was allowed to conveniently park my bicycle inside. Spaceous room with a good shower, comfy bed. Outstanding for the buck paid. I'll be back.
Review 10：pillows were almost non-existent, very few TV channels, none in English. No tea-coffee on the premises apart from the breakfast (but there's little store Lats on the corner with tea, coffee).
Review 11：The building is very country side manor like. There's a place for pick-nick and BBQ. Close to Melnā Kolka - really beautiful view on the Venta river.
Review 12：I got a sort of attic room with a very low ceiling. Bathroom relies on some water pumps that are quite noisy, but fortunately, they do not make noise when you do not use water.
Review 13：Good value for the money. Decent Wi-Fi connection. Car can be parked on the premises. Not clear why the check-out time ends at 20:00. In fact, the lady was there late in the evening and perhaps all night long. City center can be reached by foot in 15 min. A small supermarket is located next door.

Review 36：There was a bad odour (of sewerage) when entering the room. The heating was not working so I had to go and ask for a radiator to warm the room ( it was about minus 6-8 outside).
