Reviews for Palazzo Leopoldo
Review 1:Heating was not switched on and weather was unusually cool. No big deal though.
Review 2:Staff were excellent. very helpful. Great building and rooms full of character. Plenty of places to eat. Memorable breakfast presentation.
Review 3:Everything was great!
Review 4:Amazing "palais" look of the hotel, in the center of old town, parking nearby, rooms spaceous, clean, nice details, bathroom large, very modern, nice walk-in shower. Small spa with very cut interior with inside pool. Nice breakfast, extremely nice and helpful staff. We loved this place!
Review 5:Poor restaurant for dinner. There was a large terrace next to our room which was nice as long as other hotel guests didn't come there to disturb our privacy. Management should clearly mark that this terrace is only for the room holder (or for everybody if so).
Review 6:Large room (or two rooms actually). Good location.
Review 7:Pigeons tapping on roof windows, noisy extractor fan rumbling away in the wall next to room, gigantic cappuccinos, ice-cold a/c, dark rooms, layers of dust/grime in certain areas. It was a wear your slippers kind of floor in bedroom. Tiny view through tiny window. Road noise when sitting on terrace. Pool/spa facilities unwelcoming. Hotel not always crystal clear with info - i.e. parking was just public parking that anyone can use and not a lot belonging to the hotel as I had been led to believe. One one lady making coffees/clearing tables at breakfast. Too much work for her to do alone.
Review 8:Female desk staff were friendly and helpful. It was nice, once ensconced in the hotel, to be near shops/restaurants in town, but a bit of a trek from the parking.
Review 9:A sleeper couch for 2 adults for 5 nights does not work Mobile air conditioning unit poor Shower mixer poor
Review 10:Fantastic staff, beautiful historical building and the use of the sister Hotel Ultima Mulino was a great extra outdoor pool option for the kids.
Review 11:No bar area, although drinks available on request. Everything else was great!
Review 12:Two old buildings in centre of Radda that had been beautifully refurbished. Spacious bedroom, excellent staff, it felt like a luxury hotel for under £100 per night for a large double room. No outdoor pool but 2 outdoor Jacuzzis to cool off in. The photos on the website don't do this hotel justice, it is far more beautiful than the pictures indicate. Discount for residents for the wonderfull newly opened indoor spa under the hotel
Review 13:None
Review 14:Apron arrival, the staff quickly assisted us to check-in, showed us to our room, and explained all on our way to our room. We stayed in room 23, although it did not have view, it was beautifully decorated, spacious, luxurious bedding and a modern bathroom. It looks like a newer wing. There is a safe, fridge and telephone as well as good wifi in the room. The breakfast room was beautiful and more than average breakfast although still an Italian type of breakfast. We opt to sit inside as it was quite hot outside. You can sit on the veranda, although this wing did not have a spectacular view. It is located inside the old town which makes it rustic and romantic. Each morning the latest news paper from different countries, main pages have been printed to be read at reception. There is also a work station that can be used. There is a big lounge as well as a smaller lounge that goes out on the balcony with a stunning view.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Radda is a very pretty town in the heart of Chianti. Very comfortable, beautifully decorated room. Staff very helpful and arranged 2 days of wine tours for us.
Review 17:The view from the terrace were stunning, the suite was fabulous and the breakfast prepared was bountiful. Would definitely stay there again. Lovely town.
Review 18:Most affordable rooms don't seem to have a view as we desired except for a tiny window. Steep incline to drop off luggage if you are driving. But it was a wonderful experience even so.
Review 19:The authenticity and attention to detail. Large room. Extremely attentive staff. Breakfast on the scenic terrace.
Review 20:The sophistication of a traditional old Tuscan manor house, it's location in wonderful Radda coupled with delightful staff makes this hotel a first class stay.
Review 21:Where we were put up the bath leaked and we were bitten by things in our bed. The room itself was dingy.
Review 22:The area of Radda was nice and we enjoyed breakfast and drinks outside the hotel.
Review 23:Nothing.
Review 24:Everything - location, ambiance, staff, views of the valley, breakfast - it was perfect. Radda is a special place and this hotel made it just that much better.
Review 25:The room was cute but it was under the rafters so had no windows only a skylight which was rather odd considering the view of Chianti from the hotel. I would have happily paid a bit more for a window if they had the option but they were fully booked.
Review 26:A very special hotel in the medieval village of Radda, Chianti. Wonderful view in a perfect location. We loved our time there, the staff were charming and the village well worth spending some time in.
Review 27:Cold shower and was not told you could not check-out before 8. Breakfast should be included in the room price but it was not.
Review 28:Neat atmosphere with a lot of character and staff was very friendly at night.
Review 29:Wifi was a bit hit and miss. Be careful or you'll get a load of roaming charges.
Review 30:8 days of luxury in room4. Own terrace and super service. Maura (breakfast lady) starts every day with a smile. Location couldn't be better if you like good Italian wine and food take the wine tour and ask for Paolo.
Review 31:Looked forward to dinner (7:30 start) at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, the main course didn't live up to expectations. Work out room is tiny and equipment is substandard, an afterthought.
Review 32:Excellent service, extremely attentive front desk. Radda at Chianti is itself a gem of a place. Quaint and quiet, it provides a far from the madding crowd experience. Hotel is beautiful, with a divine view off the back terrace. Room was large and well appointed. Great wine tasting/ meal experience at nearby Casa Porciatti (highly recommended).
Review 33:Be aware that bus schedule on the weekend is very limited. You will want a car if you're there Sat/Sun.
Review 34:The underground pool was great after a long day. The town of Radda is like a step back in time - great views, restaurants, all within a small area.
Review 35:No outdoor pool and very expensive breakfast. We did use the sister hotels outdoor pool free of charge.
Review 36:Rooms were nice and nice outdoor terrace. Indoor pool was a hit with my younger kids (7 and 1).
Review 37:For the rate of the room breakfast should be included. Cost 9.90 euros.
Review 38:Great location. Very friendly staff. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was great.
Review 39:We love this place. The location is great and the staff was very helpful. The spa is in the wine cellar, excellent!
Review 40:Very nice hotel built from an ancient palace. Furniture is still in same style and something is original. View form upper rooms is amazing
Review 41:The service from Marco is superb.
Review 42:The bed spread was dirty.
Review 43:Everything
Review 44:Booking an 30qm Superior DZ Room. Pay an 30qm Superior Room. Become an 20qm "Superior" Room!
Review 45:Radda in Chanti is an nice little Town.
Review 46:Would have given them a 10 but thought the cost of 10 Euros for breakfast was a bit pricey.
Review 47:It was a very relaxing break and we felt totally pampered
Review 48:The staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful, even providing a packed breakfast ahead of my early start
Review 49:Beautiful location, gorgeous rooms, the town is charming and really well located to be able to visit lots of beautiful places around Tuscany.
Review 50:The wifi was weak or not accessible from the room.

Review 61:Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.
Review 62:Beautiful hotel in a quaint town.
Review 63:It was difficult find a member of staff to take your order at table.
Review 64:Lovely building amazing veiws and a charming little village.
Review 65:We had two beautiful suites. Very big, beautifully furnished and decorated. Staff very kind.
Review 66:The small town of Radda is quiet and beautiful with a peaceful atmosphere
Review 67:The setting of the hotel is very nice. A real Italian mansion type building in the middle of the small medieval town Radda. Warm atmosphere
Review 68:We couldn't stay longer
Review 69:Great place to relax, the views around the hotel are stunning
Review 70:location and quaint charm of the area and facility. The patio The view
Review 71:Gorgeous place! The decor was beautiful, both in the room and common areas. Stunning, huge room with a fireplace and great view. Nice terrace with view over the hills open to all guests, indoor pool is located in a medieval basement of sorts - very cool. Breakfast may seem a bit expensive at 9.99, but it's totally worth it, the selection and quality of food was incredible. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Absolutely no complaints, would stay there again.
Review 72:Our bed was uncomfortable, but almost worth it for the cool room.
Review 73:Beautiful older building. Beautiful convenient location. Beautiful breakfast area and terrace overall we loved it.
Review 74:The building is not designed for the cold so can be a little draughty in the winter.
Review 75:Beautifully restored building right in the middle of the old town. Rooms are large and in keeping with the style of the building, helpful staff, private parking, very smart indoor pool.
Review 76:Location in centre of small village in Chianti. Nice ambience in old building with comfortable, spacious rooms & pleasant lounge & restaurant.
Review 77:Loved this hotel. Radda in Chianti is now one of our favorite locationsin Italy and this hotel was luxurious. Staff great. Breakfasts great. And we enjoyed the terrace overlooking the Chianti countryside whileeating breakfast and in the evening with wine. Marvelous hotel!
Review 78:Top floor rooms only have skylight windows and are very dark, offeringno view whatsoever. Another downside is that the breakfast is notincluded in the room price
Review 79:Unique experience of sleeping in a renovated 18th century castle in themiddle of Chianti, overlooking the hills and vineyards
Review 80:We were upgraded to a suite! 2 huge rooms overlooking the main shopppingroad - bit noisy first thing in the morning with delivery vans and shopsopening but all part of the Italian experience and really didn't mindit. Hotel was lovely, beautiful terrace, bountiful breakfast in a lovelyroom. Staff were very welcoming. Every corner of the hotel wasbeautiful. It even has a little chapel.
Review 81:Although the place was clean, not enough attention to detail was givenin cleaning: the floor in our room was not swept at all during our 3-night stay (I don't know if this had to do with us travelling with adog). Several small surfaces in the bathroom obviously hadn't beencleaned for weeks. Note that there is free parking around the medievalvillage of Radda, but it is 100-300m from the hotel. In the peak seasonand in rush hours it might require some luck to find a parking spot.
Review 82:Very polite and professional staff. Good service with attention todetail. Elegant, carefully restored house. Spacious room with vintage(but functional) furniture, big tv and very efficient and silent air-condition unit. Radda is a beautiful small village, not too crowded butnot too empty either. The hotel is conveniently located right in thecenter of the old village, so everything is accessible on foot.Breakfast has a good quality and variety for a reasonable surcharge.
Review 83:I was very disappointed with the amenties that were listed and they were not on the premises! In the description it stated the Hotel had a indooor and outdoor pool, gym and spa. But it only had an indoor pool or what I would consider an large hot tub. Most may not stay at the Hotel for the above amenitites but that is EXACTLY while I chose to stay. I had been traveling around Italy for over a month and was looking for a place in Tuscany that I could refresh, relax by the pool, workout, and be pampered at the spa. however, NONE of the amenties were accessible (unless you had a car. It is not clear in the description that they are at another one of their properties 5-7 km down the road outside of Radda. So please be aware that the description does not give the entire truth to the Hotel.
Review 84:The rooms are very spacious with comfortable bed and pillows. Location can't be beat if you are looking to be in the Center of Radda. The staff was very helpful with arranging tours and suggestions for dinner.
Review 85:The gym, I wish the equipment was more up to date
Review 86:The staff were very helpful and always willing to help. We loved SIliva and thought she was kind in helping us find our next hotel. We would stay there again.
Review 87:We had to ask for more soap and shampoo by our second day there. Pool is tiny and is indoor in a dark gloomy space. They state that you can use a pool at one of there other properties that is close by, but it is actually about 3 miles away and when we actually wanted to use it,they called the other location and we were told that there were already too many people there and that we could not use it.
Review 88:Nice hotel in a beautiful old palazzo with a lot of charm.
Review 89:Our room had only one window in the ceiling and a small window lookingout of the bathroom. This hotel has no parking. The air conditioner wasinadequate for the room size. Cleanliness was marginal in the bedroom.
Review 90:The common area terrace was nice.
Review 91:It's a castle in the heart of Radda Chianti. Very good and nice location. As soon as we walk out from the hotel, shops are across the hotels. The best part is our rooms view. Very relaxing. Love all about the hotel. although I knew there was a pool but I forgot about it. Wifi works very well. Love the terrace. However, I wont post anything in the negative section. I want to stay in this column. Bec. it's not really a problem. The parking might be a problem but this should not discourage anybody from booking at the hotel. Walking to the hotel will give one already a sense of where and what to do the very next day. :-) It's a wonderful experience!
Review 92:The air conditioning unit noise was irritating. I suggestreplacing the unit.
Review 93:The location in the middle of the Chianti hills is impressive. The hotelsits within a small fortified hill town. The hotel fronts onto a smallhistoric street on one side and on the other side overhangs the mainroad below. There is a small restaurant below the hotel which includes adining terrace. The building is historic and includes a very attractiveterrace that overlooks the hills beyond. Breakfast on the terrace is adelight. The town is well situated for discovering the chianti wineregion beyond. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 94:The shower was a little cramped, by American standards, but worked fine. This minor issue was greatly overshadowed by the spaciousness andloveliness of our room which included a dining table, couch andkitchenette.
Review 95:We loved this hotel. The town of Radda is fantastic - so picturesque andin the middle of the beautiful Chianti region. The hotel is a restoredpalazzo, and beautifully decorated with antiques. It is like living in acastle. Our room was very spacious and had a fantastic view. The staffwere incredibly friendly and helpful. The housekeepers were veryattentive to when we left the room and cleaned it promptly. Thebreakfast buffet was very nice. The hotel has a nice terrace area and agood restaurant downstairs. We were surprised by how many goodrestaurants are in walking distance.
Review 96:Close to centre of town and restaurants. Very helpful staff.
Review 97:Extremely nice and helpful staff. Great location in Radda, fabulous te,race and views and very good restaurant.
