Reviews for Hotel La Perla

Review 1:Can't think of anything.

Review 2:We were looking for a nice place with a balcony with a view of the lake and boy did we get it. Great views! Big room with all conveniences. Family run and they are very accommodating. Free Shuttle runs 2x a day to the cock to catch the boat to other lake towns. Bar was nice and the breakfast was very extensive - nice to have a soft boil egg cooker. Nice outdoor seating area to enjoy the lake views and have some wine. This place was exactly what we wanted.

Review 3:Not to close to the lake, but that is not really a disadvantage

Review 4:Really enjoyed staying in the hotel. The staff is very friendly, many thanx to them! The hotel is new and very clean, free parking, really nice view. One of the best hotels we've ever been to. Definitely recommended! And special thanx to staff, they made out stay very special!

Review 5:the walk up the hill....but that why you get the stunning views!!

Review 6:Stunning views from the breakfast area, the veranda and the rooms.... Good continental breakfasts every morning. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Cant fault it...

Review 7:Family run business. Superb service. Helped make the most of a short visit. Resteraunt recommend was most excellent. Not easy to get to, but well worth the effort!

Review 8:The hotel locates away from lake shore, and it is difficult to find it without GPS system, especially at dark evening time.

Review 9:Very clean, comfortable, stylish designed hotel , lovely keeping at excellent condition. Very friendly staff, nice breakfast. Magnificent Como lake view.

Review 10:The hotel does not serve an evening meal on Tuesday's but there is a trattoria within a few minutes walk which serves rustic meals at very reasonable prices. There is very little in the town to attract visitors, other than one Villa, the building and gardens of which are open to the public. The lakeside road is comprised mostly of hotels with restaurants, interspersed with a few shops. However, the shops will not hold your interest for very long. The town is linked to other towns around the lake and the best means of getting to them is by boat as the roads are quite narrow and can be busy with traffic. Generally we thought that most of the towns were a tourist trap and this detracted a little from the splendour of the architecture and the scenery. However, Como is well worth a visit as it does not feature the tackiness of some of the smaller lakeside towns.

Review 11:This is a family run business the members of whom give an excellent service to customers. Twin sisters and their spouses together with the daughter of one of the couples run the hotel and when the sisters father called in one evening he was introduced to the guests. The family is very friendly. The hotel is a good 25 minute walk from the lake and the gradient is steep. However, the hotel run a shuttle service twice in the morning and twice in the early evening, so provided you can schedule round these times it is not necessary to walk. The view from the hotel overlooks the lake, the town below and the towns on the opposite shoreline. It is best to visit these by boat, there being a regular service at modest prices. We like that there is a swimming pool although we did not experience good weather during our visit so did not get chance to use it.

Review 12:It was all very good except the shower was small.

Review 13:The owners were very helpful. The room was large and the outdoor space was lovely. It was more updated than other properties in the area. The view of Lake Como was very good. Free parking was a plus. It was a very good value. We arrived on the one day dinner was not available so I cannot rate the meal. Like most hotels in this area the shower was small. The bed was comfortable.

Review 14:Wifi signal was a little weak in parts of the hotel

Review 15:Amazing staff who provided exceptional hospitality and recommendations. Exceptional view from breakfast

Review 16:Rather small shower in our room.

Review 17:Lovely, welcoming owners who were always ready to give advice and help. The hotel had stunning views over the lake, worth the rather winding road to get there!

Review 18:The hotel is off the beaten track, high in the hills above Tremezzo. It' was hard to believe our gps as we went higher and higher on tight windy roads. On the other hand, there's a lovely stone walking path to town and the ferry, and there are hotel shuttles after breakfast and in the evening that you can sign up for.

Review 19:Hotel La Perla is run by charming twin sisters and their husbands. They all are as sweet and helpful as can be. And work hard to make each guest feel at home. Dinner on the terrace with the lights of Bellagio twinkling in the distance is pure heaven.

Review 20:The road to reach the hotel is very narrow and winding, if you meet another car someone has to back off

Review 21:Great view over the lake, free parking (including the garage), internet that works. Breakfast deserves a special mention, really good quality and the view from the terrace over the lake is terrific.

Review 22:The only small thing was that there was not an arm chair in our room and may be it would be good to have a few games like table tennis for those wet times. It was not possible to walk down to the lake as it was a long and steep climb back. Very difficult to park hire car in Tremezzo in August. Shuttle bus could be booked at hotel.

Review 23:The welcome we received was if visiting friends and by the end of our stay we were sorry to bid Luca, Sergio and their family farewell. They had given us an exceptional experience, nothing was too much trouble. The location of the hotel was stunning and breakfast on the terrace was a wonderful start to each day. The pool area was clean, well kept and never crowded.

Review 24:It takes at least 20ish minutes to walk to the nearest facilities, the lake ferry etc via a steep hill (however, the upside of this is the amazing view). However, the hotel does offer a free shuttle service twice daily. It is not a problem if you don't mind the daily walk but if you do you might want to think about having a car.

Review 25:Amazing view, poolside relaxation in a stunning setting and some of the most friendly and accommodating staff I have encountered. We had a room with its own private terrace with a fabulous outlook overlooking the lake. For a mid-range priced hotel it really offers amazing value considering the setting and service.

Review 26:It's quite a walk up and down to the lakeside. Taxis are very expensive although hotel does have a shuttle bus.

Review 27:Staff are so friendly and really take care of you. The views are amazing. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting.

Review 28:This is a fantastic family driven hotel with amazing views over lake como. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to relax a few days. Great staff who goes out of their way to make your stay good. A+!

Review 29:Beautiful hosts. The location is away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the main areas along the lake side. The daily shuttle run by the hotel to the ferry was very welcome. Nothing was too much effort. Would definately stay at Hotel La Perla again if we were to return to the Lake Como area.

Review 30:Toilet is squeezed between shower and other bathroom facilities, hence very uncomfortable to use it.

Review 31:The friendliest stuff were ever met. All the facilities are well maintained and working. View from the room and breakfast terrace is breathtaking. Nice idea about shuttle to city centre.

Review 32:Wifi a little slow and sometimes hard to connect to, situated a little far from lake, but it is pleasant neighborhood around to walk

Review 33:Very warm welcome, nice clean rooms, great lake view

Review 34:If u have no transport u have to walk up & down quite a steep hill, not easy!

Review 35:The twin sisters & their husbands who owned the hotel were so friendly, helpful, gorgeous people. The hotel was up high with fabulous views, quiet, with a pool to cool you down, fabulous.

Review 36:Not a criticism but quite a walk back up from the village in an evening, not a problem if it's a beautiful night and happy to take your time.

Review 37:Extremely welcoming and helpful staff. Fantastic room and facilities. Secure garage parking for motorcycle.

Review 38:Only slight negative was that the wifi connection drops every hour or so and you need to re-connect.

Review 39:Owners so friendly and helpful Lovely clean room Great breakfast Evening meal an option Amazing views over the lake from the terrace where you can have breakfast, or drinks anytime

Review 40:Only draw back is the distance into town. They do offer a shuttle service, 2 times in the AM and also from town back at either 1700 or 1800. After a day out around the town in the hot sun, we were ready to return by 1500. The hotel did call a taxi service for us to return early. I think the distance is worth the views you have from the hotel.

Review 41:Amazing views from the breakfast area and pool area. Our room had a nice balcony with the same breathtaking views. ALL the staff were so friendly and helpful. They really went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Rooms and facility were also very clean. For the evening time, they offer a 'snack bar' for a few hours - but to me it was more like a full dinner service. A small menu, but had great appetizers, first plates, and second plate options... and desert! Tasty house wine as well. We decided to eat at the hotel for both nights we stayed. Lake Como is one of our favorite places to visit, and next time we will be sure to stay here at La Perla.

Review 42:If you are travelling by car, has a good cool secure garage. Whilst in a quiet location, there was an excellent trattoria with fantastic view of the lake a few minutes walk away providing good honest traditional food, we dined every night of our stay there. The hotel is a family concern, twin sisters and their husbands who are very attentive, helpful planning your days and making sure your have enjoyable stay. Only downside, some walking involved if not using your car, but they do have a shuttle to you take you in morning to the nearest transport link and pick you up tea time. Could have done with some more power sockets in the room. Go there, you won't regret it.

Review 43:Bed pillows are hard; Requires a lot of driving up and down the hill on narrow roads

Review 44:Extremely warm and helpful hosts who spared no effort to book activities and restaurants for us. Amazing views; quiet; great place to relax after a day of site seeing. Private terrace or balcony

Review 45:Finding taxis to take from town to hotel not always straightforward.

Review 46:Beautiful views. Friendly and attentive owners. No fuss service. Magical location.

Review 47:This is one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed.Peaceful, spectacular view, friendly and helpful people and nice food. Very convenient location. Clean and comfortable. Sitting on the terrace with a big glass of prossecco, looking over the beautiful lake, was a holiday highlight.

Review 48:Warm friendly staff were great with the kids and super helpful with finding places to eat, sights to see, things to try. Great location for central Lake Como activities - regular boats to beautiful towns (Bellagio, Mennagio, Lenno) and villas nearby (Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbaniello).

Review 49:After a long drive we were happy to arrive at this lovely hotel. We were greeted like old friends. Nothing was too much trouble for the family who run it. Breakfast overlooking the lake, perfect

Review 50:Nothing really, being constructive the evening meal menu could be more extensive however this is a minor criticism and we were made aware of a separate restaurant nearby.

Review 51:This is a family run business and they are so friendly, helpful and pleasant, it was a pleasure to meet them. The hotel is located in an elevated position which gives a fabulous view of the lake. A courtesy bus provides transport to the road next to the lake. They deserve to be successful.

Review 52:Bed slightly uncomfortable and terrace reserved for another party which was a shame as we would have liked to have used it.

Review 53:Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and the hotel is so clean.

Review 54:Bright, spacious and airy feel to the hotel. Family run by two charming couples who are eager to please and very helpful. La Perla is spotlessly clean. Breathtaking views from the elevated position and very peaceful. A shuttle bus down to Tremezzo, but exploring the narrow cobbled pathways running down to the town is much more fun!

Review 55:liked everthing ! we were stressed getting out of the milan airport to lake como area. I had reserved hotel la perla and was hoping it was as nice as it looked on line. Cant say enough good about the place and the helpful staff. so nice ! the view was awesome, We sat out on the deck with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the view! room clean and very nice. location was up on the hill but we were able to walk into town to catch the ferry etc. . one day we caught a ride down on the free shuttle service that goes twice a day. breakfast included. wonderful ! cant say enought good things .

Review 56:Nothing.

Review 57:Don't be put off that Hotel La Perla is a bit out of town. It's 4 minutes drive up the hill from the lake, has fabulous views, and is quiet and peaceful. The main road through Tremezzo runs beside the lake, and most hotels and restaurants are right beside the busy road and across the traffic from the lake. Much better to be up the hill, and drive down whenever necessary. This is a very well run family hotel with exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and very friendly, obliging staff. And it's a great base for outings down to Como or by ferry across to Bellagio or Varenna.

Review 58:There were NO bad experiences.

Review 59:The property was spotless but not antiseptic. The staff consisting of the owners, could not do enough for us with advice on where to go, where to eat, what to see. The views from the property are simply stunning - looking over Lake Como.

Review 60:If anything, the wifi was a bit patchy. We had a few issues trying to connect from the room, but it was fine upstairs in the main bar/restaurant area.

Review 61:We loved the views overlooking Lake Como. The owners are very lovely people, nothing was too much trouble. There's an incredible terrace that we had breakfast on. It would be beautiful in the summer to sit back & enjoy a few wines (it was too cold in the evening whilst we visited).

Review 62:EVERYTHING was perfect! The Rooms, the views from the room, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast. We were all in love with the place.

Review 63:The panoramic views & breakfast on the terrace. A family run hotel, the staff were so warm and welcoming they made us feel like old friends. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend.

Review 64:Amazing views of Lake Como and surrounding mountains from this lovely hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean.

Review 65:They only served food until 8pm which was a very minor point

Review 66:The view from our balcony was amazing. The room was a good size and very nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was ample space to park the car.

Review 67:Every aspect was terrific -- no complaints at all.

Review 68:The adorable twin sisters and their husbands were extremely helpful and accommodating. We were there for two nights and could have stayed longer! There are winding narrow roads that lead you high above Tremezzo and the view from our room was mesmerizing. Although we had a car, one night there was a festival in Tremezzo so we took the walking paths. Definitely do that! You walk through these tiny villages and see how people actually live in Tremezzo. We loved the Cantina Follie Wine Bar which is tucked away in a small alley. We then took a walking path up the mountain to Al Veluu -- spectacular restaurant. Miraculously, we found the walking path back to La Perla in the dark. It was definitely a highlight being in a great location. They offered an expansive spread for breakfast. I would absolutely recommend this hotel -- it was great.

Review 69:Absolutely NOTHING!

Review 70:We cannot fault this hotel. Beautiful views, fantastic staff, clean, great breakfast - it has everything going for it. We will be back to enjoy more of its hospitality.

Review 71:The location was a way up from the town, but that accounted for the lovely view. It would have been difficult to walk up to the hotel. The dining room provided a good breakfast, but was very limited for dinner, and there was only one trattoria within walking distance.

Review 72:Very friendly, helpful staff and the room was clean and comfortable, with a balcony. The hotel's terraces were lovely. The view over Lake Como was fabulous. The shuttle bus service was good, but very necessary.

Review 73:The family who runs this hotel were the most friendly and gracious we encountered on our 3 week trip to Italy. The hotel is up and away from the crazy tourists and is beautiful. We wish we had planned to stay longer. Next trip to Italy for sure

Review 74:Although a short drive above Lake the views were stunning while eating or sitting on balcony.Family run by lovely staff who go out of their way to make stay enjoyable..

Review 75:VERY little. It would have been nice to have a proper cappuccino in the mornings rather than a 'help yourself' machine. If La Perla had a full restaurant it would be AMAZING.

Review 76:Mostly everything! To find fault with anything at La Perla is difficult and anyone who does must be VERY picky. The owners, twin sisters and their respective husbands, could not have been more friendly/helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The views are to die for, the rooms excellent and all areas are kept extremely clean.

Review 77:Would have liked tea and coffee facilities in our room and a softer bed. But I really couldn't fault the hotel.

Review 78:The views, warm welcoming owners. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They bent over backwards to make our stay perfect. The hotel is nestled in the most beautiful mountains circling Lake Como........breathtaking and stunning views. Loved everything!!

Review 79:Everything ,it is a wonderful hotel with a great location ,the owners are exceptionally welcoming .they could not be more helpful . The breakfast is all you would wish fore ,I would recommend it without hesitation . Great value for money. Alan / Claudia Chester

Review 80:Nothing!

Review 81:Wonderfull location Hotelstaf, two twin sisters and their husbands did everything to comfort te visitors, they were very helpfull and friendly Very clean accommodation Swimmingpool with view over the Como lake

Review 82:Rating is well deserved as it perfectly mirrors the location as well as staff friendliness (the twin sisters are very polite and delightfull) and very nice breakfast (not to mention the fantastic view!).

Review 83:Initially I was looking for a hotel by the lakeside, but I'm glad we chose La Perla. The road through Tremezzo runs along the lake and can get busy, but the elevated position of La Perla meant an amazingly peaceful stay. The view is absolutely stunning and the roof top terrace was the perfect place to propose to my girlfriend. We had a fantastic stay (she said yes).

Review 84:Very unreliable Wifi The evening meal was a little limited. We ate out the second night

Review 85:The owners of this family run hotel could not have been more helpful. Fabulous views to enjoy with breakfast and dinner and from our bedroom. A wonderfully organised hotel.

Review 86:Fantastic hotel with amazing views over Lake Como. The staff are the real gems though who go out of their way to make your stay feel that little bit extra special!

Review 87:Taxi fair up to the hotel was 15 euro's. That works out at nearly £10.00 per mile

Review 88:Great hosts nothing was too much trouble.I would certainly recommend The Hotel La Perla. Great views over Lake Como. It was a bit of a trek up to the hotel from the main Tremezzo high street but the complimentary mini bus made up for that. Room was very stylish and comfortable.

Review 89:Loved everything about hotel itself. Found restaurants/ night life more interesting in neighbouring Mennagio than in Tremezzo, but no problem to drive there from hotel.

Review 90:Magnificent view, clean, comfortable room, swimming pool in relaxing setting. Extremely warm, hospitable and helpful hosts. Appreciated hotel's free shuttle service (morning & late afternoon/early evening only) to and from ferry. Otherwise steep walk down and strenuous return uphill (or take car & look for parking)....Very good value.

Review 91:It would have been nice to have some more interesting food available to dine on the wonderful terrace in the evenings. This was not a problem as there are plenty of local restaurants. This is really a very nice B & B Hotel.

Review 92:Amazing location with stunning views from terraces and rooms over Lake Como. Very friendly helpful owners, very clean Hotel, nice breakfast overlooking lake on terrace, nice swimming pool and terraces. Good central location on lake, very convenient for ferries to visit other areas around lake.

Review 93:Only staying for two nights!

Review 94:This hotel is run by a family so you receive a lovey warm welcome, lots of information and personal service. Any questions answered and help always available, including directions for walking into Tremezzo, boat timetables, parking in town, restaurant bookings and taxi reservations! A lot of higher rated hotels can't match this. We had a great weekend despite the weather. We will definitely return.

Review 95:There was nothing to dislike

Review 96:The views The food The friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was perfect in every way and so well run

Review 97:We Stayed here based on the reviews and we were not at all disappointed. Everything was excellent and made all the more enjoyable because of the kindness and helpful nature of the owners. Can't recommend highly enough.

Review 98:Having to leave.

Review 99:Excellent service, location, food, atmosphere and overall experience.Staff was awesome! They anticipated our every need and had suggestionsfor everything we forgot. Friendly, warm and welcoming. We truly feltlike family and hated to leave. No complaints other than we had toleave. We will be going back if we have the good fortune to do so. Wouldnot hesitate for a second to stay here again.

Review 100:The staff were the friendliest, most helpful and accommodating, caring hotel staff I have ever met. We hardly left the place except to venture out for something different, or to experience some of the local restaurants. Relaxing by the poolside with the spectacular views reading a good book was just what we needed.

Review 101:Everything, the managers are incredibly friendly, helpful and genuine, the location is peaceful, view is stunning, rooms and hotel are spotless and designed beautifully with attention to every detail and the food is delicious. You can walk down to Tremezzo on a lovely (although steep!) footpath in 15-20 mins and although the website only advertises 'snacks' in the evening, these are lovely homemade pasta dishes that are more than adequate for a meal. Highly recommend Pizzeria Balognett close by. Tremezzo itself is the perfect location to explore the lake and has it's own attractions. Very charming place.

Review 102:The staff were wonderful, they were so friendly and attentive. The views were blissful.

Review 103:View, Clean, staff, treatment

Review 104:Outstanding in all aspects. A family run hotel who put customer care as their top priority. Beautiful views from the hotel.

Review 105:nothing

Review 106:The family was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and dinners were outstanding.

Review 107:Everything was very clean and beautifull. Beautifull view from the room and loby. The Wifi was good.

Review 108:Last courtesy bus was 18.00 but would have liked one at 21.00

Review 109:Views were stunning and the staff were really nice and helpful

Review 110:Owner run hotel and they could not be more welcoming and helpful. Comfortable rooms Super view over the lake Good dinners

Review 111:Staff was excellent, made us feel welcome and very friendly :)

Review 112:wifi not working in some rooms

Review 113:Very nice view from the room and dinning area. Very nice and helpful staff.

Review 114:Great situation away from the noise of the lakeside and with the view enhanced by the elevation. Friendly helpful owners

Review 115:Wonderful hotel with superb views over the lake, together with wonderful owners who could not do enough to make you feel welcome.

Review 116:Everyone very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast.

Review 117:There is nothing I can think of at all

Review 118:Fantastic, welcoming staff. Loved every minute. Thank you.

Review 119:Having to leave

Review 120:The location was amazing. The staff too.

The Fine Print

Check-in outside regular front desk hours is not possible.
