Reviews for Hotel Astor
Review 1:Like many places in Italy, the beds were uncomfortable as were the pillows.
Review 2:Location is great as it is across the road from Perugia train station. Nice breakfast.
Review 3:The convenience across from train station. The staff spoke English which is a plus. The room was clean. The wifi worked no connections problems. This hotel was so so. Nothing too great nothing too terrible. This is fine if you just need one a clean simple place to stay for one night.
Review 4:Nothing, always considering quality/price rate
Review 5:Pleasant stay, measured in a good quality/price rate. Good as far as public transport to the centre of perugia is concerned. Quite a small breakfast room though..
Review 6:nothing
Review 7:The location is easy for us to go for a day trip i Assisi, as it only a 100 meter from Perugia train station, also near the minimetro to city center. The staffs are very helpful and the room is very clean.
Review 8:It was all you would expect for a great hotel, and you get it at a very reasonable price. I originally booled for two nights and then added two more because it was a great jumping off place for the great art in the area.
Review 9:We arrived by train walked across the road to the hotel. Back across to hire a car which was kept under the Hotel. Supermarket across the road. Vodaphone next door. Mini Metro to go up into the old town 400 meters down the road.
Review 10:The showeris extremely small. 5he beds are just too hard, we managed for one night.
Review 11:The location to the train station. The friendliness of the staff. The staff very helpfu, nothing too much trouble.
Review 12:It was next to the train station, and also where buses came and went. That brings in itself some shady types. At night time, we didn't feel quite safe outside, even going to the McDonalds across the street.
Review 13:It was close to the Mini Metro that took us into the historical district, The hotel itself was comfortable enough, we opted to stay two nights. The staff was couteous.
Review 14:Internet in the rooms is very slow. You need to be down, in the lobby. But it works well there.
Review 15:If you have a car or want to use the train to move around in the region this is the place to be. Staff are super friendly and make you feel at home. They give great local advice about foodies and places to visit.
Review 16:In front of Perugia Main Train Station. It is a very convenient spot to base your stay and visit Perugia as well as Assisi, Foligno, Orvieto and so on. The Perugia mini metro system is localized just 10 min walk away from the hotel. From this interesting and modern system, you enjoy the whole old city - which can be done in just on day. Silvie at the reception was pleasant and welcomed me warmly with a big smile. I would definitely recomend this hotel for all travelers discovering, Umbria and all regions around it, including Lazio.
Review 17:Above the third floor local residents were living and were very noisy.
Review 18:The staff made a phone booking for on going travel for us when we couldn't access WiFi. We had a nice room. Breakfast was basic.
Review 19:I stayed at the room 31, there were cockroaches. Be attentive not to take them with you at home. Water in the shower cabin went away very slow. So when you took a shower you had to stay in dirty water.
Review 20:Great staff. Good breakfast. Location is near train station. Minimetro is near to reach the centre of the city.
Review 21:internet is weak in rooms. I can only connect at the lobby.
Review 22:very good location, just across the street from the railway station. . room is very quite. price is reasonable especially during the festival of chocolate.
Review 23:Not a good location after dark.
Review 24:Fantastic location if travelling by train straight over the road from the station.. Staff extremely helpful with booking excursions and researching timetables. Next to pharmacy, supermarket & mini metro nearby
Review 25:Nothing, it was more than we expected for a 2 star hotel. Booked a twin room and got a nice large 4 bed room with balcony.
Review 26:Loved the hotel was close to train station. Originally booked hilltop but changed my mind to Hotel Astor. Glad I did as it rained when we arrived in Perugia. Good location for train station in and out plus easy train ride to Assisi. Easy to get to hill top from hotel.
Review 27:The room was basic, as one would have expected for this price(47 euros).
Review 28:The hotel was just across the road from the railway station and we had an early departure in the morning. However, when we travelled on the mini metro to go up to the city on the hill, we realised we could have used this on arrival and departure and stayed in a more up market hotel 'uptown'. The girl on the reception desk was very helpful with local information. The mini metro is brilliant, and the escalators!!!
Review 29:Nothing, however the breakfast could be improved a little bit but on the whole everything was good.
Review 30:The hotel was very clean and well kept and the staff was very helpful!!
Review 31:The breakfast was poor.
Review 32:Location was excellent. Right across from the train station and near a tram station to get to city center Perugia. Being so close to the train station this was an ideal location to use Perugia as a main place to stay while we made day trips to the smaller surrounding towns.
Review 33:Rooms were functional, but no frills. Wi-fi usually did not work in room, but did in the lobby.
Review 34:Very friendly staff. Led us to a truly superb restaurant two blocks away. Easy access to the "old" Perugia. Nice breakfast.
Review 35:Hotel Astor is quite a distance from the main part of Perugia. Not near any restaurants or tourist attractions.
Review 36:The Hotel Astor is a basic hotel but it is just across the road from the train station, so very convenient if you are travelling from town to town. Breakfast is average, rooms are average.
Review 37:Location and room. Close to train and mini metro. You don't need to be inside the old city to enjoy it.
Review 38:Great location across the road from the station and the mini metro to the historic city. The room was a little run down but met our basic needs.
Review 39:Choice of eating options was limited in the area
Review 40:Proximity to train station
Review 41:Area around station
Review 42:Access to transportation Budget but reasonable value
Review 43:The hotel is rather old. Poor breakfast.
Review 44:Near the train station.
Review 45:No Wifi signal in room.
Review 46:Proximity to the station and mini metro to city. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Review 47:Location, modern clean bathroom, wifi in the foyer and breakfast Umbrian cakes.
Review 48:Hotel maintenance very high quality.
Review 49:Seems far from the central on top of the hill. Buses not very helpful in giving info.
Review 50:location near train station.
Review 51:Mattress could be better
Review 52:Room size handy to station
Review 53:Bed bugs
Review 54:THE LADIES AT THE RECEPTION WERE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL.GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY.
Review 55:The lighting is terrible. It is so dark, that completly inpossible to read in the room.
Review 56:The location was very convenient, opposite the main railway station with buses outside the door leaving regularly for the old town.
Review 57:Quite close to the train station.
Review 58:Nothing
Review 59:The hotel is situated right in front of the railway station. It is very convenient for the train traveller. Also close to the mini metro, it takes only 5 minutes to go the the old town which has lots of restaurants and cafes. A good base to visit Assisi, Spoleto and nearby cities.
Review 60:The hotel is very dated, noisy and bad wifi.
Review 61:An excellent location if you arrive by train. Very easy to get up to the centre by mini metro. Staff were very freindly.
Review 62:Breakfast room was cramped and not very inviting. The breakfast was notvery good compared to other hotels I stayed in this trip.
Review 63:Easy access to train station and Mini Metro to top of historicwalled city.
Review 64:Only negative comments would be that wifi in room little weak and would have liked a little more fruit at breakfast but that was overcome by all positives.
Review 65:We loved that the hotel was so close to train station, mini metro & buses. Central therefore for visiting many surrounding cities. Many hire car companies for those wishing to drive around Umbria. Also very simple restaurants a short walk from hotel offering delicious local food and wine for very reasonable prices. There is a Co-op across the road and even a MacDonalds although we did not visit. You can stroll up the winding hill to Perugia as we did so on the first day. Very good walk. Once you come to first Piazza where the buses leave from there is a series of escalators that take you to the very top. The town itself is beautiful with stunning buildings and scenery. The views of the valleys are spectacular as they are from all these ancient hilltop Umbrian cities. Staff at this hotel exceptionally friendly helpful and a joy to speak with. Their english was very good. One of the young women even arranged a special private day tour for us to towns we could not visit easily by public transport. Breakfast plentiful and a reasonable variety.
Review 66:WiFi quality is mediocre.
Review 67:Hotel is situated wery close to Perugia railway station, it is perfect location for the travelling around. Appartment is very clean.
Review 68:Bed was very hard. To cross the street -a highway, you had to dodge 3 lanes of traffic or use inderpass which was dark and had bad odors.
Review 69:Right across from station and busses.
Review 70:underground parking was not an easy one. depending on how other cars are parked, your car might be stack and you can not move. hotel wifi was slow.
Review 71:good location. staff were very friendly and helpful. the hotel has a good bar on the ground floor.
Review 72:Nothing comparing the price I stayed at three star hotels in Italy that were far away from the comfort of this two star.
Review 73:The clean, the good breackfast, friendly staff, and large room
Review 74:Nothing to say.
Review 75:The staff was incredible helpfully.nice people ,warm, etc. For me the convenience of being across the street from train station, plus the ink metro and lots of buses was a big plus.
Review 76:Terrible location very hard to park a medium size car in the undergroundcar park.Grotty area, given map and directions to old town, wrong info andresulted in long walk to old town which was very nice, requested nonsmoking room but there was a strong smell of smoke.Terrible locationright on a busy corner.Would not return to this hotel.
Review 77:Nothing much, maybe the only plus would be close to train station.
Review 78:Breakfast was okay but a little more effort from the staff could make it good i.e. sliced ham. cheese and salarmi together with tomatoes would go down a treat. Although seating was provided in the reception area it was too noisy to sit there because the staff had the TV on too loud.
Review 79:Room was large with a double bed in one room and twin beds in another. Very comfortable. Conveniently located by the railway station and mini metro. Excellent pizza take-a-way a few doors down from the hotel.
Review 80:Booked and paid for a single room, but had the use of two adjoining rooms which gave me a feeling of space. Very sound-proofed from Station and road noise. Good breakfast.
Review 81:In my room was very bad wi-fi signal and only close to the door.
Review 82:Close to the train station and mini metro. Perfect if you gonna make one day trips to anothers towns. There is Coop supermarket in a few meters.
Review 83:There is really no charm to this hotel, we used it as a "layover" hotel in between stops.
Review 84:Location to train station, large bathroom and clean room.
Review 85:Wifi was horribly slow! The last time I stayed here it wasn'tworking at all. Breakfast was the worst, very little choice butthat's similar all over Italy.
Review 86:The location and helpful friendly staff. There was no air con in myroom, just a cheap noisy fan but I complained and they upgraded me atno extra cost. Apparently single rooms don't have air con, onlydouble rooms.
Review 87:mis-information from staff re local restaurants (all closed on Monday?? No!) no satellite tv
Review 88:location next to Metro good double glazing on busy site breakfast
Review 89:rooms are not generous with space - but adequate
Review 90:Friendly staff very helpful Location perfect. Free wifi Price-very good and included breakfast was very good
Review 91:Room décor a bit old. Convenient for the station but not for the centre of town
Review 92:Good value for money, good breakfast. Had everything I needed, and good location for the station.
Review 93:Great location to perugia (via mini metro E1.50) and assisi (via train across the road E2.50) it doesn't get any better than this if you like perugino and/or giotto
Review 94:the deco/furnishings were outdated and old. The temperature in the room was cold and there was no way of adjusting it.
Review 95:the location and coffee. The staff were also quite helpful.
Review 96:this hotel is clearly a budget hotel which was what i needed * single room feels like they forgot to "care" about the solo traveler. i saw the other rooms and they seemed much nicer and cheeful * rooms are not soundproof * street noise was annoying * bed was not comfortable, cannot speak for doubles * shower was very small, leaked all over floor * extended the stay due to not feeling like packing and they upped the priced (it was NYE though)
Review 97:* location location location across the street from the train station for a late evening arrival * price * friendly staff * left my bags overnight, and they were perfectly fine with it * a lift * if i would stay here again (for namely convenience sake) i would try to barter for a nice room while still keeping a budget price
Review 98:very noisy, very cheap quality, hard matress, seems to be old and used, in need of modernization
Review 99:close to the train station
Review 100:Location. Airport buses handy (those few that there are !) and the mini metro and rail connections close by.
Review 101:Everything was ok for one night,
Review 102:The room had a strong smell of smoking
Review 103:Room a bit noisy, you could hear sounds from the lobby
Review 104:Friendly staff
Review 105:Friendly service, excellent infrastructure, close to the historic city center, wonderful breakfast.
Review 106:nice location: situated on the train station's square with buses and mini metro to the centre of the city.
Review 107:Breakfast selection could be improved
Review 108:Location and friendly staff.
Review 109:Very basic room (that's what you pay for) looking clean but a cockroach came up from the bathroom.
Review 110:Near to the train station Value for money
Review 111:The staffs are helpful and the location is perfect. Besides, the facilities are good and very clean.
Review 112:Very, very close to station but a distance from centre - you can't have both but good to go to hotel form station.

Review 114:Proximity to the train station and mini metro
Review 115:Location and helpfull knowledgable staff.
Review 116:Great value, Very clean, Accommodating staff, conveniently located across from train station and easy access to mini metro to central Perugia
Review 117:Wi-Fi was inaccessible on the top floor. Traffic in front makes it quite noisy. Lousy breakfast.
Review 118:Good location. Kind and helpful personnel.
Review 119:Internet was very slow, most of th time it was not working
Review 120:Location near the train station. Breakfast was good.
