Reviews for Kuretake Inn Premium Shizuoka Ekimae
Review 1:I was slightly annoyed to discover that the hotel is not really "ekimae" (which means "in front of the station" in Japanese), but rather a short walk away. It's not that far of a walk that it's inconvenient, but when I see ekimae, I *expect* ekimae, damnit!
Review 2:Overall very nice. The room was slightly larger than I expected, and had a mini kitchen which was also a nice surprise.
Review 3:I had booked a non-smoking room four months in advance, but upon arrival the front desk informed me that the hotel was full and I would need to be in a smoking room. They told me in a way that indicated they expected me to simply accept the situation. I made it clear that had I known only a smoking room would be available I would have booked a different hotel. In the end, I had to move rooms during the stay but was able to get non-smoking rooms.
Review 4:The breakfast was very good and the sauna and bath were nice to have, especially in a business hotel.
Review 5:Not a bad experience or complaint, because I love dim-sum, but a greater breakfast option would be nice.
Review 6:Spacey business hotel by Japanese standards, very reasonable price for two beds, private sink, hot pad, free wifi.
Review 7:Some fruit at breakfast..even bananas and apples, would be nice. Room chair was uncomfortable, although the bed was fine.
Review 8:Very clean, efficient staff, good location. Breakfast was easy and convenient. Left a package of fresh towels since I had left the "Don't disturb" sign out.
Review 9:The bed was SO hard by western standards. Extremely uncomfortable. But if you like a single futon on a floor, maybe it will be OK for those guests.
Review 10:Nice room and good breakfast buffet.
Review 11:It is really close to the Shizuoka station, which the bullet train also stops directly. The staffs were helpful and they gave us information regarding tourist attraction around Shizuoka. Breakfast was also fine.
Review 12:The hotel is just minutes away from yje JR Shizuoka Station. From the North exit, turn right onto the main road. The hotel is across the road. By the station is a supermarket. We only used the hotel to stay the night so we could get an early start for Mt Fuji. We did not have the breakfast included as we left before 5am.
Review 13:Friendly staff with some English. Let us check in early. Great breakfast with hot and cold food and good selection.. Room good, bed comfortable, with opening window for fresh air.
Review 14:Reception Staff didn't speak any English, they had no maps of local area, signage in hotel in Japanese and no translation. Breakfast was rubbish. Room is small, no wardrobes, bathroom is tiny. They claim to have a sauna but fail to tell you it's only available for men only, they didn't say that on their website!
Review 15:Location and happy hour and have parking for 1200yen per day and downside is that you cannot park and take out your car multiple times during the day. Cleaning staff were very helpful
Review 16:- Not far from shizuoka station - Modern room and very cleanness. - Staffs are excellent (We left luggage before check in time when we come back on night, our luggage was in our room... very impressive). - Breakfast buffet are included
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:Loved the breakfast spread (Japanese with a touch of Vietnamese). Helpful staff and decent sized room certainly value for money. Only 10mins walk from JR Shizuoka and within 10mins walk from shopping street.
Review 19:Blinds don't shut out all the light at night; street lamps still illuminate room a bit through the gaps.
Review 20:New hotel, fairly big choice of Japanese food for breakfast, not far from JR Shizuoka station.
Review 21:Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from JR Shizuoka Station (from the North Exit of the station, turn right and continue walking until you reach the Parche Department Store parking building (about two blocks away). The hotel is just across it. The hotel is new, so all rooms are modern. The room size may be small for some, so do check the size of the room and bed you're checking into. The buffet breakfast was good, not excessive. The staff were polite and helpful.
Review 22:Nothing too serious here, but for the sake of a balanced review: limitedoptions for breakfast; super tiny public hot bath; no free bicycles torent (although advertised as such)...
Review 23:The hotel was still rather new when I visited (Oct '14), soeverything was nice and shiny. Room interior much more guest-friendlythan in a typical Japanese business hotel. Convenient location.
Review 24:Convenient location, clean and tidy, great breakfast, friendly staff, welcome drink, budget price! Highly recommended.

Review 31:Because of the special weekend, this hotel gouged on prices (not unlike others), but this should be an outrage for all travelers.
Review 32:Room too small and late check in time at 3pm
