Reviews for Villa Clementine
Review 1:Rita was such a welcoming host and went out of her way to be helpful. She came to meet us in the town when we couldn't find the villa and then the next evening drove us in to a restaurant and collected us after the meal. The villa is lovely and the breakfasts outstanding. A really lovely place to stay.
Review 2:Nothing to dislike.
Review 3:Everything. It was a beautiful home in a lovely setting, a little out of town. If you're coming off the highway using GPS, don't be daunted by the narrow, dirt road which is a bit bumpy and you will be wondering where the heck am I! Our room was really nice and very comfortable, with a large bathroom, separate dressing area and a generous size bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and the owner Rita has thought of everything to make a guest feel at home. Breakfast was delicious with cereals, an omelette, home made bread and biscuits, croissants etc. Best of all was Rita. She's gorgeous. Very kind and she went out of her way to make this a special stay including driving us to and picking us up from a great restaurant that night. A special thanks to her and the restaurant owner for helping us find our lost car keys. Piazza Armerina is a lovely historic town and we would recommend you stay 2 nights to take it in, and fully enjoy this really nice classy villa..
Review 4:Villa Clementine was everything we hoped for! Rita, the owner, could not have been more friendly and helpful. The grounds are just beautiful with fruit and olive trees, gardens, pool, etc. Rita makes everything homemade for her beautiful breakfasts. She was so kind to drive us into town for dinner as the narrow road is a little challenging in the dark. Highly recommend staying at this charming B&B!!
Review 5:Important to have a good GPS. On a narrow suburban street. Not an easy walk to the center of Piazza Armerina.
Review 6:A beautiful hotel with pretty gardens. Very convenient to Villa Romana della Casale. A nice retreat from the bustle of town.
Review 7:Being a bed and breakfast it was fabulous having a couple of days stay with local people. It is a great way to have a cultural exchange and the host was perfect for this and very accommodating.
Review 8:Struggled to find Villa even with Booking.com directions. Immediate sharp downhill left turn after exiting highway from Enna is VERY easy to miss. Also, the closest places for dinner are 3-4 miles away in Piazza Armerina.
Review 9:Very welcoming reception in a true Sicilian Villa. Very quiet, private and secure. Had a room in a separate wing near pool. Beautiful grounds. Breakfast in main Villa was very good. Were surprised when 10-12 overnight guests arrived for breakfast since our room was so private we hadn't seen them before.
Review 10:Nothing!
Review 11:This is by far the best property in which we have stayed during almost 2 weeks in Sicily. The owner, Rita, went out of her way to drive us to restaurants in town when we got hopelessly lost. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, generous and creative. Rita is a wonderful cook and hostess. We can't say enough about Villa Clementine.
Review 12:Warm and friendly owners.they went out of their way for us; their daughter insisted on driving us into town to a restaurant for dinner, and picked us up afterwards. Delicious breakfast, all home made and fresh products.
Review 13:Rita is a great host and made us feel very welcome. She also made a nice breakfast with fresh and homemade products. The garden around the pool was very nice.
Review 14:Mosquitoes in the evening when sitting outside.
Review 15:Very pleasant villa at Piazza Amerina with pool & delightful gardens. Very friendly & good food.
Review 16:This place is a real gem. It is located on a small road not far from the center of Piazza Armerina. As you enter the road it appears like nothing beautiful is ahead of you but if you have faith you are soon rewarded by the appearance of a beautiful villa. Our room was exquisite. The breakfast was delicious and the swimming pool was an oasis. Best of all is the hostess. Rita is a dynamic bundle of energy and a self confessed perfectionist. She will make sure that you have everything that you need to make you happy. When we arrived it was after a long drive and so we asked her where we should head out to eat. Her solution was to throw together a lunch for us with vegetables from her garden, fresh bread, and cheese. So god and so appreciated. Strongly recommended.
Review 17:Decor not to my taste but hey!
Review 18:One night stop over, our first in Sicily. Lovely garden and pool. Lucia was so helpful and kind, explained clearly how we could walk to the beautiful town (15 mins)
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:Rita is an exceptional host who makes our stay just perfect. We enjoyed everything: the wonderful house and garden with a large swimming pool, the delicioud breakfast and all the kind attentions.
Review 21:We liked it all
Review 22:The building was beautiful with the added bonus of the pool. The buffet breakfast was great with a tasty variety of food available. The staff were extremely helpful -she spoke very little English but we communicated well and she was able to give advice on where to eat in the town.
Review 23:The best place in Sicily. We have beauty and romantic room: clean and fragrant. Hostess Rita and all her family was extremly hospitality and helpfull - her son (dentist) selfless helped me with my broken teeth and gave me even nedded medication. The garden, swimming pool was great. And the breakfast was the amazing. Grazie :)
Review 24:The B&B is out of town and you need a car to get to a restaurant. It is NOT a nice walk.
Review 25:The owner is amazing. She is determinded to give quality and a family feel to the stay. We were brought bowls of grapes and lemon ice when we sat round the swimming pool. The breakfast was superb, equivalent to the best hotels and the table was groaning with a selection of local produce.
Review 26:Nothing to complain about. A bit hard to find but had no problems with the navigation system.
Review 27:Breakfast is fantastic, freshly prepared every morning. Hosts are very helpful and they will always go out of their way to help.
Review 28:Rita is an excellent host, cook, and person. She helped us with a minor computer problem also. She breakfast was the best is Sicily! Lovely, lovely B and B! Wish we could have stayed longer! Hope to return!
Review 29:Both our gps failed to give us good directions. The road is a very narrow country road and the signage to the B&B is inadequate. Bring phone to call the owner and arrive way before dusk, just in case you get lost.
Review 30:Pleasant garden ambiance. Generous breakfast. Nice hostess.
Review 31:Rita has been the most charming and welcoming hostess. Her house is beautiful, comfortable, the perfect countryside getaway. The gardens are amazing too, with a nice pool. Her breakfast is probably the best we had during the whole trip : plentiful, homemade and lively !
Review 32:Amazing, delicious, bountiful breakfast spread. The pool and ground were great.. Friendly hosts speak very little English. You need a car to stay here, but a very short drive from Roman Villa and historic centre of the charming ancient hill town.
Review 33:Located just outside of Piazza Armerina historical centre, lovely villa with beautiful gardens, pool and the best breakfast ever. Our hosts were extremely helpful and generous with their time. We stayed in the private cottage at the end of the garden.
Review 34:Bathroom was not spotless; floor had obviously not been properly cleaned or polished in some time. Also, the shower was up three steps which must be a safety hazard. Our strong advice is do not bring a car into old town around duomo for evening meal because getting back again to B&B in the dark was a nightmare on impossibly narrow streets.
Review 35:Very good and generous breakfast helped make up for an otherwise somewhat disagreeable one night stay. We were glad to be on our way, as we found it difficult to feel comfortable and at home; we did not feel the house was open to us. Location was also very difficult to find by car.
Review 36:The faded & almost unreadable name of the villa at the end of narrow lane leading to Villa Clementine.
Review 37:The acc. The garden. The welcome & the breakfast!
Review 38:Just one small problem: the wi fi did not work in the room we were (near the swimming poo;) but we could use it everywhere in the house.
Review 39:Everything. Rita a fantastic host. She drove us to town for a dinner because we were very tired to drive and could not find a taxi. Also collected us! The room is cosy and well appointed. Breakfast excellent.
Review 40:Little bit noisy early in the night due to nearby traffic but it got quieter later at night. I prefer a softer mattress but most mattresses in Sicily were too firm for me. My friend did not mind hers being hard.
Review 41:Marita was very accommodating and generous and put us in her garden cottage as we wanted separate beds. Her breakfast was a feast!
Review 42:Road in and out of the villa complex is a little difficult to manoeuvre. Chalet is more suited to a family not two couples.
Review 43:Rita, the hostess, was charming but we had a miscommunication regarding breakfast. We were two couples leaving at different times and the breakfast goodies (and they were lovely) did not arrive in time for one couple. Beautiful grounds! Very peaceful! Nice pool!
Review 44:The villa exudes charm and warmth. One feels at home instantly. The rooms are very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast provided a big range of delicious sweet and savoury options. Rita, the hostess, makes every effort to make her guests happy. She drops off and picks up at nearby restaurants and provides exceptional hospitality.
Review 45:Piazza Amerina town is not the most attractive of towns but has in Al Fogher a restaurant of note.
Review 46:Location is perfect for visiting Villa Romana del Casale, after a fairly leisurely breakfast we were able to enjoy the mosaics before the tour buses arrived. Rita, the owner treated us like family.
Review 47:The Villa Clementina has been in the family for three generations and Rita is so welcoming, warm and helpful, insisting that her home is our home. She makes beautiful breakfasts and is so, so attentive to anything you might need. I was traveling with my 88-year-old uncle, who happily stayed back at the Villa, enjoying reading in the comfortable living room, while I went to see the Villa Romana del Casale. It was perfect!
Review 48:The tight road and poor signage, made the initial moments a little anxious. And the intenet works most but not all the time.
Review 49:The warmth and generosity of our hostess , made this wonderful property even more so. We stayed in the chalet set in the gardens with its own kitchenette, which was just ideal especially with a warm wood chip heater. Great breakfast. Good location to explore central Sicily.
Review 50:The proprietor, Rita, was warm, welcoming and even went out of her way to drive us to and from dinner when we expressed our reluctance to drive the narrow roads at night. The breakfast was delicious and included eggs of our choice, homemade yogurt, pastries and bread as well as an assortment of cheeses, fruit and tomatoes. Just wonderful.
Review 51:One of the best Chalet we have ever been in. Rita is giving a superb vacation experience with passion of having you in her Villa. The entire place is spotless cleaned, upon arrival the fridge was filled with great fruits and dairy. At breakfast we got fresh eggs, bread and croissant for the family. The location is very quite and peaceful at the center of the island and close the the old town of Piazza Armerina, Villa Romana. Highly recommended for families and couples!
Review 52:Rita was a perfect host and did so much to make our stay comfortable. She is engaging, intelligent, caring and hospitable. Our room was generous in size and amenities were very good. Breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Sicily. I understand why Villa Clementine is in demand.
Review 53:Pity that we stayed here only for one night.
Review 54:A beautiful villa. Rita, the owner is a perfect host. She does lovely cakes and a very good strawberry cheesecake and exceptionally tasteful jams... Everything is homemade.. the best breakfast we ever had in Sicily... the room was very cozy and clean. Will surely recommend and when in the area will visit again. The villa is also very close to Piazza Armerina. It is very easy to find using the locality's coordinates N37.378963, E14.357311.
Review 55:Nothing - just allow more time on your 1st day to find the place.
Review 56:A cosy B&B well located just outside Piazza Armerina. We opted to stay in the Chalet which is separate from the main villa. It was ideal since we had a young child. Having the kitchenette in the chalet was ideal. Rita, the owner made sure that it was well stocked and we had everything we needed. She was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. She made us a fresh Crostata, and one night even offered us her homemade baked pastry. on our 1st night, we arrived late and tired and she ordered us pizza delivery. Which was great! Would definitely recommend the place all year round. Thank you Rita :)
Review 57:Nothing to dislike
Review 58:Rita was very welcoming and made us feel like family. Her home cooked goodies were very tasty. She provided plenty of helpful information.
Review 59:Host and hostess very friendly and obliging. Home made bread, cakes, marmalade (made from clementines in garden) Setting is a beautiful old family villa just out of town and is within easy reach of the centro storico and also of the Villa Romana del Casale (world heritage listed) The host and hostess are both lovely people and could not be more helpful.
Review 60:Nothing, but the Villa is a little hard to find initially.
Review 61:Lovely B & B in a beautiful setting; charming host, and excellent breakfast enjoying her company and that of the other two staying at the same time;
Review 62:Nothing!!
Review 63:This is a great place to unwind or explore the wonderful surrounding areas. The rooms, in fact the whole place, is beautifully decorated. The owner prepares delicious breakfasts, plus THE BEST COFFEE ever!!! She gave us lots of advice on where to go, and my husband and I will be forever thankful. We visited a wonderful archeological site and museum, and just drove around admiring the breathtaking vistas. Would return in a heartbeat!!!
Review 64:A little bit difficult to find. A bigger sign on a croasroad would be very helpfull.
Review 65:Cozy family villa. Owner very friendly. The best breakfast (homemade) in Sicily. Good location to see Piazza Armerina and frescos in Villa Romana.
Review 66:This charming B&B was a real surprise. The third generation owner, Rita, was absolutely terrific. We were some of the last guests of the season, late October, and the only guests that night. She maintains a beautiful garden and pool; this is a real oasis on a hillside overlooking Piazza Armerina. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, arriving late after visiting Villa Romana del Casale (only a short distance away) and left early the next morning, so we couldn’t take advantage of the lovely pool. But the best part was the fabulous breakfast Rita served. Delicious home-made everything, brioches, bread, yogurt, jams, cappuccino. A fine assortment of meats and cheeses, made-to-order eggs. It was incredibly good. If you’re looking for a secluded respite while traveling in Sicily, this is it.
Review 67:It was a little hard to find the first time.
Review 68:Lovely set up and very warm welcome. The host was delightful. She also had good restaurant recommendations, and a great breakfast.
Review 69:Rita and her husband were the consumate hosts. The villa is so lovely, tranquil and relaxing.Rita, an amazing cook, served bountiful breakfasts with homemade jams, cakes, focaccia bacon & eggs .We ate at a huge dinning table and enjoyed the company of her other guests in the rustic charm of the kitchen area. We were celebrating our anniversary in a charming large room on the main floor, and were surprised with a bottle of wine & card just for us..Thanks to Tino too for taking us directly to a car shop to fix a fender.we had the greatest time at the villa and would highly recommend it to everyone! Rita is so kind and caring and does everything in her power to make sure you are being cared for we felt as though we were a part of the family. Thank you Rita ....we felt the love!
Review 70:Nothing.
Review 71:Pool, with relaxing chaise lounges. Just outside old town, so did not have to deal with the narrow streets. FRESH-made breakfast treats from our hostess in lovely setting.
Review 72:Be prepared for GPS/Googlemaps for directions. The road can be narrow and tough to find on regular maps. But once you know where it is, no problems.
Review 73:Rita and family are wonderful hosts. Alcove room was wonderful with private entrance. Breakfast and appertivo were wonderful. Villa has amenities like Pool/Garden. All top class! We'll be back when we are visiting Sicily again...
Review 74:The Villa was beautiful and well located. However, most important Rita is a fantastic host who goes above and beyond to make your stay just perfect we would strongly recommend Villa Clementine!
Review 75:Piazza Armerina is a nightmare to drive and park in, and although the villa is outside the town, it is quite hard to find.
Review 76:Very pleasant setting, with lovely garden. Good breakfast. Charming owner.
Review 77:Lovely villa with beautiful gardens and pool that just asks to be used. Owner very friendly and helpful. Great breakfasts with lots of choice. Delightful rooms in different themes - all very stylish. Less than 10 minutes to Villa Romana - 15 mins walk to town.
Review 78:We liked everything
Review 79:The location os a bit off the town and in a lovely setting, the villa is beautifully decorated and restaured, with attention to every detail. Our room window opened on a full view of the city and surrounding hill, incredible moonlight view as well. The pool is ideal for a morning or afternoon swim. The breakfast is plentiful and really delicious, keeps you going till dinner. Signora Rita is delightful and full on information about the town and resources, all and all one of the best stay we had in Sicily. We would love to come back.
Review 80:Although down a narrow road, the villa was easy to find with a little pre-arrival research and, of course, the signposts to it!! we loved our spacious, clean room and the garden swimming pool. The breakfast was excellent, as was the family's welcome. Restaurant recommended in town also excellent and we walked to it ,although it was quite a climb through the old streets.(we are in our mid 50's).Easy drive to villa Casale.
Review 81:Its a shame there is no dinner option available and its a little bit hard to find.
Review 82:The house and the location was excellent. Having a garden , pool and a dog to play with is very welcome on a long trip. The owner was attentive and efficient. Breakfast was superb
Review 83:The villa is hard to find, down an obscure road, and it is not a good walk into town—you must drive. But all in all, a great spot.
Review 84:Our hosts could not have been more gracious and helpful. We were meeting our son in Piazza Armerina, and they helped us track him down at the bus station in the center of town. Also offered us the cabin past the pool for the same price as a triple room. Great clean pool.
Review 85:Didn't think much of Piazza Armerina itself.
Review 86:lovely location, tranquil, lady and labrador of the house are very friendly. Breakfast is amazing, homebaked cakes and good coffee! Wifi works fine, onsite parking
Review 87:Wonderful family. Very nice accommodating. We had two rooms - both were spacious and comfortable. We all slept great. We enjoyed sitting by the pool after seeing the Roman villa and ate in town at a restaurant recommended at the hotel.
Review 88:Located down a narrow 1-lane road. Any oncoming car made squeezing by challenging.
Review 89:Fantastic breakfast buffet (save room for the egg dish offered separately). Lovely pool and garden. Wonderful hostess. Friendly dog - we loved Arturo.
Review 90:This was a lovely place to stay with a very nice and helpful owner - who offered wonderful food (home baked cake and other breakfast delights) and beautiful garden and other facilities. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area.
Review 91:- the street is very narrow to drive up with a car, but the location is certainly not as bad as some of the other reviews suggest (15 min walk from the center of Piazza Armerina; ideal for those who want to avoid driving in the Sicilian traffic in town centers)
Review 92:- very good breakfast - beautiful house with swimming pool - very nice host
Review 93:We were well looked after. Rita was very helpful and generous. The breakfasts and the home baking were excellent. We stayed in the cottage at the end of the garden and it was very comfortable and suited our needs. We were made to feel very welcome. The pool and garden are idyllic.
Review 94:Maybe a bit hard to find, check out how to find it before you drive there.
Review 95:We were travelling around Sicily for almost a month and this was the B&B we liked most of all. The historic building with a nice garden and pool. The owner was very, very nice and she served us a wonderful breakfast in their kitchen/diningroom. We enjoyed staying here and we can recommand it!
Review 96:Even with technology impossible to find (mobile phone helped) Had to be rescued, as did our friends travelling separately
Review 97:Spacious room (overlooking viaduct) Excellent breakfast Garden looked nice - we had poor weather so could not try pool
Review 98:Hard to find by GPS. Hint: pay attention to odd numbered addresses on the right side of the road.
Review 99:Beautiful home and setting. The hostess Rita was very friendly and attentive to her guests. We only stayed an evening on our way to Villa Romana, but the location was perfect. Quick trip to Piazza Armermina and nice trattoria/pizzaria with outside seating to watch the sun set over the hill town. We had a garden apartment away from the main house that was fantastic. Wonderful swimming pool.
Review 100:Struggled to get hot water.
