Reviews for Hotel 't Anker
Review 1:Shower head leaked but nothing major.
Review 2:Nice quiet location and 10 minute walk to train station and city centre. Very nice and friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Review 3:Internet did not work in my room which was disappointing, as I was depending on having the use of it.
Review 4:Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, right in the middle of the old town.
Review 5:The elderly staff (owners?) were downright unfriendly and saw any question as a bother. A shame, because I really liked most of the staff.
Review 6:Most of the staff was very helpful and very sweet :)
Review 7:Nothing to complain about, it is an old building with small faults but I think it ads to the charm.
Review 8:After all my travels through Europe I found this place to be the friendliest and most helpful. They cannot do enough to help you and make you feel welcome and safe. I would love to come back and stay very soon and would recommend to anyone. I will miss being there. Location is perfect also.
Review 9:old furniture. there was no proper window in the room.
Review 10:Smiling face staff with possitive energy. Very nice breakfast. Home athmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Clean. Good Wi-Fi. Excellent location
Review 11:My room (4) was on the front, so I was awakened by revellers on one of the nights.
Review 12:Hotel t' Anker resembled a humble British Inn, in that it was run by a friendly and welcoming couple who served beers and food. There was comfortable and clean accommodation on two upper floors. It was simple and old-fashioned in many respects, with good evening meals at various tables in the bar. Extremely good value at 114 euros B&B for 4 nights!
Review 13:This hotel is good value for money, friendly staff, is in a great location, clean and sufficient basic rooms, good breakfast. Will use it again in the future.
Review 14:.Very poor wifi .Interiors were less than basic, felt like staying in a jail room .Common toilet, and flush was so mild that every time you have to flush others poop and others will flush yours.
Review 15:Nothing. I can only say that location was good
Review 16:We had booked 2 rooms for 4 people each (2 adults en 2 kids). Upon arrival we found out that rooms were not available. The hotel had made a mistake. The personnel tried to help us out. To make a long story short, we stayed in the hotel in an extremely basic room and our friends had to move to another hotel, further away from the center. Quite inconvenient.
Review 17:Center proximity
Review 18:Generally good value for money, so no big complaints. I was just a bit surprised when the person at the reception refused to call a taxi for me, when I was leaving -the first time this happened to me.
Review 19:You do not pay much, so you do not get much.Rooms are pretty basic, look like hospital ones (also all in white). I appreciated breakfast and WiFi were included in the price. The location is also quite gold, near to everything in Leeuwarden. Bathroom is shared but only by a couple od rooms, so I never had a problem.
Review 20:We had a spacious room, a delicious breakfast with lots of variety, and staff that was friendly and extremely helpful. Our host went out of his way for us and had a great sense of humor. The beds were comfortable, lots of hot water for the shower, and great location. We really enjoyed our stay in Leeuwarden.

Review 54:Rather outdated and worn out facilities. Noisy

Review 56:thin walls between the rooms, from the neighboring room sounds all and you can not sleep
Review 57:The room was a bit tatty - could do with a paint job.
Review 58:Bed and bed linen very clean, great for centre of Leeuwarden. Price very reasonable

Review 67:Excellent value. Good location and food. Would stay again!
Review 68:Veel trappen oplopen met bagage
Review 69:Prima locatie, rustig
Review 70:The hotel closes everyday at 10:00, and all guests has to leave the facilities before than time. The staff were just pushing us out in the morning. When we asked if we could leave the luggage in the hotel to pick up later, they refused as the whole builiding is totally closed until 18:00. When we asked if they could phone a taxi for us, they just refused. The WC was a small, outside room, located in the roof of the building. I guess how people can stay there during winter...
Review 71:Many things need of repair, 1cm gap in window to outside with noise. Breakfast not very much, no musli or cornflakes for example.Door to room must be lifted to get the key to go around.
Review 72:Friendly staff. God location in center.
Review 73:I didn't like the fact that the person who had the rood before me smoked. The smell was not nice, but eventually it disappeared...
Review 74:clean. the bed was comfortable.
Review 75:Unprofessional, or NO management. You are handed the room key, and that's all. Nobody is around responsible to take care of the guests. Poor facilities; Unstable shower suddenly hits you with freezing cold water. After using toilet, you need to come out of the bathroom to the entrance door side to wash hands. Very bizarre and uncomfortable setting. WiFi very weak and disconnected every three minutues (or more frequently!). This property doesn't qualify a "hotel," despite their room rate expensive even as a "hotel" of its category. The cafe next door under the same "management" was always empty, which is not at all surprising.
Review 76:Spacious room.
Review 77:Budget rooms are very small. No real good place to store a suitcase. Rooms are complete though, equipped with everything you need: bed, chair, sink, bedside table, closet.
Review 78:Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Located in the middle of the old town of Leeuwarden, yet quiet room (especially the ones at the back).
Review 79:The doors are very hard to lock and also the wall are very thin, if you're a light sleeper bare in mind you can hear almost every movement from the outside
Review 80:very close to the city centre and everythin is within walkin district.
Review 81:I know it's a budget room, but with old televisions dirt cheap nowadays, it would surely be possible to have one in the rather spartan room at comparatively little expense.
Review 82:Location Everything worked, no problems
Review 83:Hallway and room had worn finishes, but were neat, clean, and comfortable.
Review 84:The hotel staff (especially Jan) were extremely helpful, courteous, and friendly. The rooms were bright, clean and comfortable. The hotel was ideally located in the center of the old city, and the use of an automobile was completely unnecessary. The room was quiet, and the food was excellent. All told, it was a wonderful experience!
Review 85:Ground floor gloomy, depressing walk from room to breakfast, easy to knock one's head on the light fitting above bed, one bed had no light fitting.
Review 86:Location good, breakfast reasonable, room good size, seemed clean. 20 to 30 minute walk to station. Close to good restaurants.
Review 87:Staffs were not so friendly to those who can't speak Dutch.
Review 88:Really good for price. Room was neat and the Breakfast was good. Location was wonderful.
Review 89:Thin walls, good to know...shower from others makes noise when yousleep. I was suprised not being offered to have my breakfast earlier (asothers did the same morning!) and had to skip breakfast.
Review 90:Small towel provided (not always the case for that price).
Review 91:Some folks at the pool table who had maybe just a little too much todrink. This would have been a good opportunity for the bartender, inlack of better entertainment for the guests, to put on a good show andgive them a spectacular beating followed by a classic bouncing (andstay out!!), as seen in Western movies. The bartender should freshen uphis jujutsu.
Review 92:Good price, relaxing "countryside" atmosphere. Breakfastincluded. Nice staff.
Review 93:Welcoming staff and good choice overnight on interrail trip. We had large triple room that overlooked street. Leeuwarden very quiet and an enjoyable introduction to Freisland life, quite different to Amsterdam.
Review 94:Rates Wifi
Review 95:Too basic. Bit run down. Dark breakfast area. Very small rooms.
Review 96:Location
Review 97:much cheaper than anywhere else in Leeuwarden. Good breakfast
Review 98:Booking.com directions failed to address pedestrianisation issues and lack of street names

Review 107:I'd like the location, friendly and polite staff, good food
Review 108:thin walls.
Review 109:central, picturesque location, good wifi, good free breakfast, near station. far cheaper than other hotels in the city.
