Review 1：We have stayed with vdValk several times in the past. This hotel was by far the best of the bunch. In fact it was better than almost any hotel we stayed at, apart from some in China !!! The two dinners we had were excellent and reasonably priced.

Review 2：Geared more toward business with conference table for 6. Didn't like the tawdry decor, black ceiling, flocked wallpaper and shower for 2. The room was clean, but the door to the balcony was draped with spiderwebs and the balcony was filthy with dozens of cigarette butts and bugs. There were a couple flies and mosquitoes in our room although we never opened the sliding doors. The desk clerk, on checkin was aggressive and brusque.

Review 3：The suite was very large. The view of the lake and bird sanctuary was nice. It was quiet.

Review 4：The bathroom is so dark! They really need some proper lighting in there. Even the light around the mirror was dim.

Review 6：The only thing i was slightly dissapointed with was that we had to ask for the use of an iron. Other hotel chains have them in the room.

Review 7：Absolutely everything! This is the second time we have stayed here and everything was as breathtaking as the last one. I would not hesitate to stay here every time we visit this area.

Review 8：Did not like that there were no Kleenex to blow my nose available in the room. I had a bad cold and needed them. Also would appreciate terrycloth wash clothes for showering.

Review 10：WE only paid £55 which is clearly a VERY good deal for a facility like this. I needed to stay another night but the regular rate for a room is simply too high. I would not usually stay at this hotel due to the high room costs.

Review 14：I really could not say anything bad about this hotel. Rooms were massive in size and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Had dinner with friends in the dining room and staff were friendly and efficient, food was beautiful (maybe a little expensive). Hotel was very quiet overnight. Breakfast choice was varied, something for every taste.. I would choose this hotel to stay again. We had our own transport so I don't know how it would suit someone staying if travelling by bus or train. A great price paid for a quality hotel. We paid €81 which included breakfast and the following night stayed in an airport hotel where the room was half the size and no breakfast included and cost €160.65 :(

Review 15：We have stayed there 3 separate times. Noticed that the lobby wasn't as clean as other times. Cleaning rag left on table by fireplace, chairs with spilled food on them.

Review 25：Beautifully decorated, very large comfortable beds, a huge room with balcony or terras. The bathroon was equally large with a big walk in shower and seperate bath. View to water is slightly more expensive. Very nice bar with excellent drinks and food. Try the 'midday', it is a plate with three slices of bread with different toppings. Excellent value for money.

Review 69：I got a good deal at the weekend in a predominantly business hotel. Huge room with excellent facilities. Reception quickly provided tea making equipment on request. Very good food, especially at breakfast.

Review 72：they were not prepared with a blanket for our baby (only sheet) even though we made the booking long time before (later they came with a garden blanket as backup) they had not installed the crib before we arrived so they had to do it later (and when we returned from dinner the blanket operations started...) they did not bring everything we have ordered as room service food and then we decided not to complain as we were already tired we have been already another time last year in the same hotel and thats why we returned but if this would have been the first time we would have not booked it

Review 74：All members of the staff were courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and well appointed and the food was very good. Excellent hotel.

Review 75：It felt like it wasnt finished which is OK as maybe it wasn't. It could benefit from a far happier children's area or hide the one from view as it was a little sad. Storing a bicycle was possible but complicated. Could there be a couple of pool or billard tables and tea making in the rooms would be fine. Room was described as having a seating area and considering it had two stools then I dont think the description was fare. Importantly it was hard to find by bike and hard to get to town without a car. A voucher for a hotel taxi would be good. Perhaps a few more signs to the nearby park would work It would be a great place for cyclists if the Elfstedentoch started from Sneek one year.
