Reviews for Agriturismo Salemi
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:This is a great place to stay when visiting central Sicily and Villa Romano Casale. The staff is phenomenal and the food is great. This is the best place is stayed in Sicily.
Review 3:A lovely, quiet, spacious, rural stay. They were very flexible in providing a very nice dinner (with very reasonably priced wine) when we arrived fairly late without a dinner reservation. Also accommodated vegetarian. The grounds are pleasant and the pool (in season) would be a real bonus.
Review 4:We were so fortunate to discover Agriturismo Salemi! The wonderful staff were so friendly and helpful, the meals were fabulous and the location so lovely and tranquil - perfect for visiting nearby places of interest: charming Piazza Armerina, Villa del Casale, ancient Morgantina, Enna and Caltagirone. Thanks to all at Agriturismo Salemi for making our visit so enjoyable!
Review 5:Neither the hotel nor the address was not registered on the GPS, so we had to navigate by looking for signs. It was a bit stressful to find it.
Review 6:The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Traveling as a group of six, with a couple of young children, we arrived at a time when all the restaurants in town were closed, and they pulled together a late lunch for our group.
Review 7:Approach road a bit hard to find first time!! Would be noisy if all rooms are occupied as walls not thick.
Review 8:Staff are wonderful. Evening meals great, fixed price for 5 courses (if you can eat them all).
Review 9:Had a wonderful dinner there. The best pasta in all of Sicily! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and had French doors opening into the courtyard. There is a beautiful swimming pool for warmer weather.
Review 10:The whole experience was fabulous- comfortable room, beautiful and quiet rural setting, great meal (recommended), friendly staff- we arrived just as a birthday party for a staff member was beginning and were invited to partake in some prosecco and delicious birthday cake.
Review 11:Nothing much.
Review 12:Location was excellent, tucked in the countryside. Fantastic views; super friendly staff; great food at very reasonable price and a good selection of wine.
Review 13:Not easy to find in all navigators, Wi-Fi is not working in the rooms, just in the lobby.
Review 14:Old farm with modern facilities, great view, amazing pool, nice breakfast, kind and helpful stuff
Review 15:Very convenient for Roman Villa and Morgantina. Lovely room, tasty food and relaxing atmosphere especially around the beautiful pool. Very professional staff.
Review 16:The flood lighting which stayed on all night making it impossible to 'see the stars'. There is far too much light pollution.
Review 17:Being so far out in the country.
Review 18:the members of staff were excellent, warm friendly and welcoming, the accommodation was very good, and the food superb, even catering for special diets. excellent value for money much better than any of the hotels we stayed at tater on our visit. very convenient for Villa Casale
Review 19:The house didn't have much by way of atmosphere or facilities. Also the staff are lovely but they don't take the time to explain the facilities or even any details about the dinner that is on offer. The pool was cold as it is not heated - but to be fair we were expecting this - it's just such a shame as otherwise it would be really lovely. The property doesn't feel homely in any way ie. there don't seem to be common areas other than the pool and restaurant to enjoy and you don't seem to able to have a drink on the lovely front porch overlooking the valley and there are no marked walking paths. Not sure what makes it "agriturismo" other than it being located in the countryside.
Review 20:It is a nice property with lots of character and potential. Also the pool area looks lovely and it's in a lovely location in the country not far from Agrigento. Breakfast selection was good.
Review 21:It wasn't a big problem for us, however it should be noted that the walls between the bedrooms are thin and that everything that goes on in the neighbour's room, especially bathroom, can be heard.
Review 22:We wish we could have stayed here longer. It was so peaceful. Located in the middle of the Leano country side, there was not a sound to be heard. The farmhouse has been beautifully restored and their swimming pool is amazing. We recommend that you stay for dinner (book in advance) The food is VERY good and as Salemi is a 10min drive from Piazza Armerina center, you might as well relax and stay in this beautiful place. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We loved our stay there.
Review 23:The peaceful location in beautiful countryside. A lovely big pool and sunbathing area. The dinner each night was delicious and the wine very reasonable. The staff were efficient and friendly.
Review 24:The entire staff from the manager, the chef and the dinning room were outstanding. They made you fell welcome from the moment to arrived. This was one of the best plaeces we stayed at in Sicily for 3 weeks.
Review 25:Easy to find: so well signposted compared with most of the rest of Sicily. And rural bliss when you get there, calm and beautiful countryside with excellent views and a really top rate and well-equipped swimming pool. Salvo and his staff could not have been more helpful in dealing with one or two little predicaments we came across, and went out of their way to assist. All that on top of providing an extremely friendly and welcoming but discreetly background service, as well as being a mine of information.
Review 26:Lovely relaxing stay. Like our own little oasis in Sicily. Lovely pool in stunning surroundings. Ate dinner at hotel nearly every night and was superb every time. The staff were so nice and friendly. Spoke excellent English and made us feel really special on our holiday.
Review 27:6km from piazza armerina access through a rather sinuous and narrow road
Review 28:very kind staff in the middle of a beuatiful countryside calm and spacious appartment very good breakfast quick & efficient WiFi nice pool
Review 29:The room was small and could have used an air conditioner. We stayed there in July, and it was too hot to sleep comfortably with a ceiling fan.
Review 30:Beautiful location in the countryside, quiet, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and dinner
Review 31:Good signage made it easy to find this lovely agriturismo. This is wonderful place to relax and get away from it all. The grounds and pool are beautiful, and the staff is most willing to please. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning in the future!
Review 32:The staff and owner. Salvatore Were so nice and accomodatig. The food was served with love. I would recomend this property to anyone wishing for a country stay in old Sicily. Thumbs up to the entire staff, owners and the boss who resides on the property.
Review 33:Dinner could've been better.
Review 34:Beautiful grounds and pool. Welcoming and friendly owners. Relaxing and peaceful place. Loved the breakfast outside. We were sad to leave! Would definitely reccommend !
Review 35:Air conditioning didn't work on first room but moved to (larger) room without fuss. Piazza Amerina disappointing
Review 36:Great evening meals and real value for money. Excellent, helpful staff
Review 37:nothing
Review 38:Everything, the food, pool, our lovely room overlooking the valley, the owners, so welcoming and friendly, the marvellous breakfasts, the music at dinner, absolutely loved it,
Review 39:We stayed in Salemi for two nights. The hotel, its staff, the pool and grounds and food are excellent. We have stayed at several places in Sicily and this hotel is our favorite. We were surprised by how luxurious an agritursmo could be.confort
Review 40:Stayed only one night but wished we could have stayed for a week. The dinner, especially the antipasti, is alone worth the drive. Bring a stack of books and a bathing suit and enjoy a quiet, friendly, and delicious stay.
Review 41:Road up to the house is rather broken - but we made it there ok in the Caterham so guess you can get there in most things!
Review 42:The house has been beautifully restored and developed and the rooms were spacious and well-appointed. We ate so well the first night that we had two more dinners during our stay - we asked to skip the pasta "primo" better to enjoy the anti-pasti and main course. We had mixed weather during our stay and the staff were kind enough to allow us to park our Caterham undercover in the courtyard to stop it getting wet inside. When the sun is out breakfast in the courtyard is lovely and the pool looked very inviting. Fantastic views and not far from Piazza Armerina - perfect location for visiting the mosaics at the Villa Romana del Casale.
Review 43:If you choose to say for dinner, the cost is flat rate, no matter how much or how many courses you choose to eat.
Review 44:Large modern comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Polite staff Good food at dinner. Great pool, although it was too cold to enjoy it unfortunately.
Review 45:No bad experience at all.
Review 46:The ambience, location, staff. A great place to stay for a visitor to Sicily. Thank you. The quality of the food was very high.
Review 47:Nothing not to like.
Review 48:This is a very comfortable Agriturismo run by a charming young family. The property, in a mountainous area, has expansive views. The home style dinner was abundant and delicious.
Review 49:quality of dinner was very good but menu dinner was almost identical 2 nights in a row - therefore chose not to dine there on final night when it would have been preferable to do so given setting and remote locale.
Review 50:Setting, pool, property
Review 51:Noise from corridors and between rooms, we think it was just the type of building material, which of course can't be altered, it didn't bother us much We ate in house both nights, disappointed to be given same meal both nights( also not hygienic?)food was good though
Review 52:It was hot so having a pool was wonderful Breakfast was excellent
Review 53:The food was not good, no choice in food and not very nice. The price was very high for what we got, we ended up paying 138 euros for 1 night and diner!
Review 54:Location is very nice, nice pool, great views!
Review 55:Simple, clean & elegant, with welcoming and cheerful staff. After the confusion of Piazza Armerina, and the wonderment of the nearby Casa Romani, the Agriturismo was a welcome pause. Porabably a destinaiton in its own right. Signage from Piazza Armerina is straight forward.
Review 56:Wonderful views and surrounding, great place to rest and visit Villa Romana del Casale. Rooms are clean and spacious. Good breakfast - variety of things. Dinner unfortunately was nothing special actually bit disappointing :(
Review 57:Coffee at breakfast and pillows could be improved upon but minor points
Review 58:The staff at this agriturismo were so lovely anf helpful, it felt like a very relaxed and homely place to be. The location is beautiful and although too cold whilst we were there to make use of it, there is a fabulous pool. We eat at the restaurant one evening and had a delicious, traditional, plentiful meal for a very reasonable price. Breakfast also good. Highly recommend
Review 59:Everything was perfect.
Review 60:Everything about Agriturismo Salemi was perfect! The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The surroundings are gorgeous, with magnificent, peaceful views. The rooms are extremely comfortable and attractive and the food is amazing. We stayed for 3 nights and ate dinner there every meal, it was wonderful! A beautiful pool and gardens, too. A perfect location, off the beaten path if you want to visit Romana Casale mosaics. The room and dining rate was exceptionally reasonable. I would highly, highly recommend it!
Review 61:Nothing!
Review 62:Peaceful quiet place with beautiful views and very helpful staff. Large spacious room. Excellent reasonably priced evening meal. Although out of town on a small side road it was a great place from which to visit the local area. It would have been even better had there been tea and coffee making facilities in the room .
Review 63:I know reviewers have raved about the home-style dinners but we foundthe food quality overrated for the price ( 30 Euros w/o wine). Weate much better almost everywhere in Sicily for equal or less moneyper person.
Review 64:Great peaceful location with wonderful views over the surroundingcountryside. Excellent swimming pool. We stayed one night to visit themosaics at Roman Villa in Piazza Armenia.
Review 65:located in the mountains near Piazza Armerina and hence very quiet. The way is good described. For Dinner you eat in the courtyard having a marvellous ambiance. Food is very good too. Good location to relax one day during your days in Sicily.
Review 66:The place is a bit too big for the amount of guests, which means it's very quiet, but also that it can feel a tad desolate at times. A walking path around the hills from the agriturismo would have been nice.
Review 67:Great cosy, quiet farm stay with a view and a nice pool area. Great tasting breakfast and great value 5-course main meal on request. Very child friendly. Extremely helpful and friendly staff that went out of their way to help us rebook the dates for our stay even though we were technically at fault. Service went above and beyond what we expected!
Review 68:Having arrived at Salemi in less than auspicious circumstances thanks to a road accident, (not our fault luckily), we were warmly welcomed by our hosts Salvatore and Elena, who immediately set to helping us. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, a swim in the pool and the memorable four course dinner. The following morning, after a delicious breakfast of fresh produce, Salvatore kindly arranged for our car to be fixed free of charge by a friend in town, and Elena escorted us there. Salemi's hospitality is exceptional and it is only a short drive from Villa Romana. Definitely worth the visit! Luca and Luisa
Review 69:nothing!
Review 70:We loved everything about this agriturismo. My only regret is that we missed the opportunity to see the mosaics in Villa Romana del Casale (I guess we will have to return!).
Review 71:Our bathroom looked like it was not cleaned (dirty toilet and open soaps of previous guests in the shower). The rooms are very noisy and internet was not available during our stay
Review 72:Good directions, good dinner, renovated place, nice swimmingpool
Review 73:Getting there a slight faff, larger signs, better directions would help. I had TWO satnavs working on it!!
Review 74:Location, building, Pool, Pool Pool, views, etc etc.
Review 75:Very nice location - quiet and relaxing. it was a far from the centre but that is IDEAL :) You would need to have a car to arrive here as there would not be any way of doing so. Our GPS didn't find the road but it was still easy to reach as there were the signs. Took dinner 1 evening, there were loads to eat, however it is a one size fits all - and you don't know what is on the menu before you arrive- would suggest they inform the customers before hand of what is on the menu that day so that they can choose whether to stay there or not. Very clean pool area
Review 76:When booking were told room had air conditioning, but it was a powered ceiling fan ! This was adequate as temperature dropped by 10C but it should be stated differently by Booking.com
Review 77:The meals provided in the evening were delicious, and Sicilian . The meals were always outside which made a lovely atmosphere (summer time)
Review 78:What a wonderful place! Having read reviews bemoaning the fact that the reviewers only stayed for one night, we stayed at the Agriturismo Salemi for two nights. To no avail: leaving was a wrench! The location is just spectacular, with breathtaking views in all directions, and just a short and picturesque drive to the lovely Piazza Armerina; the room, the facilities, the swimming pool - everything was just heavenly; the staff were sweet, friendly and welcoming, all going out of their way to ensure the guests are happy. (When we weren't sure which way to drive en route someplace on our first evening, manager Salvatore insisted on jumping in his car and driving ahead of us for some 15 minutes so as to ensure we take the right route!) Breakfast is lovely, and at least one dinner is recommended - the four course meal was a true Sicilian delight.
Review 79:Abrupt check in and we were not told when breakfast was and there were no details in the room. Check out was also frustrating as we tried to interrupt a meeting with the staff to leave at the check out time and despite asking, it took a while for someone to come.
Review 80:Lovely modern rooms and excellent bathroom facilities. Food was excellent and the location is beautiful. Great pool too with plenty of places to relax.
Review 81:The staff were extremely competent and friendly, the room was well-equipped and spotlessly clean, dinner and breakfast were ample and delicious. We especially lked the pool with a view.
Review 82:Noisy room No in-room coffee/ tea facilities No bar / cafe service for during the day
Review 83:Great secluded location Friendly staff Good food breakfast and dinner Beautiful pool area Functional wi-fi connection
Review 84:Clean, functional room and bathroom, wonderful pool and terrace to cool off after a day of sightseeing, quiet location. English speaking management. Can be a bit too off the beaten track for some and quietness can depend on fellow guests.
Review 85:We had high expectations on the food from looking at earlier reviews. We were unfortunately quite disappointed. It was good but bland and quite pricy. The pasta dishes were not as good as what we had at other hotels.
Review 86:Beautiful building in pretty surroundings with great view. It had a calming effect on us and the poolarea helped a lot with that, The staff was very helpful and relaxed, open for personal wishes. The breakfast was good aswell.
Review 87:Internet stopped working (I think it was an issue in the region rather than their fault). Car essential.
Review 88:Very relaxing and not far out of town really.
Review 89:Room very small but comfortable
Review 90:Helpful staff. Beautiful views. Fresh figs from the tree In The garden.
