Reviews for Villa Michela
Review 1:Michela is an excellent hostess. Size of apartment and the view from the property are both great. Location is high on hillside in small village setting. Roads are narrow in this area. Within moderate hiking distance of Varenna.
Review 2:Michela the host took us to breakfast in places that locals go. She bought us drinks at a locals bar and showed us where the best places to eat are in Varenna. The suite in her B&B has a gorgeous view of Lago Como. The location is quiet. There is a beautiful garden. There are a number of hammocks on the balcony and throughout the garden. Michela was a fun host and was very generous.
Review 3:The cleanness is way off what we can accept as OK standard. we have to start our stay from cleaning the sink, table, coffee machine, toilet seat. The internet did not reach our apartment so it did not work. Payment was only possible by cash, we understand the expensive process of paying by card but this should be properly announced upfront. The road access is very difficult and it needs to be properly explained before hand
Review 4:The view and calm
Review 5:The hostess, Michela's only focus was to ensure our stay at her villa was superior to that of our previous 8 nights travelling across Italy... It was and some! Fantastic views, great outside space with brilliant alfresco dinning facilities and a lovely local store selling only very locally sourced foods! All in all, we couldn't recommend more highly! Not to mention the actual villa, which was beautifully and quintessential Italian through and through.
Review 6:We had such a lovely stay here, will definitely go back. The views are incredible and Michela was friendly and wonderful. Such care was taken to ensure we enjoyed our stay and the finishes around the place made for a lovely stay. Make sure you ask for the main room with the view!
Review 7:Nothing at all
Review 8:Michela villa has been the best experience ever, the villa was absolutley stunning with most amazing garden and views, micheal the owner couldn't make you more welcome and homely and she also does the perfect Italian breakfast. We can't say one negative thing about our stay at the villa
Review 9:The bed was damp granted it was raining but the musty smell that accompanies damp was very evident. Spiders & webs everywhere.power tripped & was only accessible to mend by owner,TV didn't work,Fridge was very mouldy, toilet seat was lethal,& fell off. Shower was half shower half wet room & in the finish a total mess,The owner new this as extra towels were given to mop up water.Decor left allot to be desired. All in all not a patch on 6 other properties through France Switzerland & Italy chosen through Bookings.com which were perfect.
Review 10:There is no doubting the owner is very very helpful but the accommodation left allot to be desired.
Review 11:Difficult to get to. Owner not good at reading bookings from Booking.com
Review 12:Welcoming and comfortable.
Review 13:The owner is a perfect lady and she will behave that you will at home.
Review 14:Stairs steps paths no lighting or handrails
Review 15:view
Review 16:Shower curtain in the bathroom. An ensuite bathroom would have been a plus.
Review 17:Michela is a great host and makes you feel at home. The views of the lake are terrific and the house and garden comfortable and secluded. The breakfast spread out by Michela is a daily feast. And in the evenings she lights up the candles and there is a very romantic atmosphere.
Review 18:Not enough time spent there.
Review 19:Our hostess was an absolute joy. She attended to every detail with enthusiasm. Her attention to detail is evident everywhere. Breakfasts were fresh, tasty, satisfying, and accompanied by freshly purchased croissants.
Review 20:Michela was a gem of a character. She made our stay very comfortable, lit candles in our room , served breakfast filled with her creation, love while telling us funny tales. Room was very romantic. It even had a record player. We had the view of her huge garden , the mountains and lake como!
Review 21:Villa Michela is difficult to find, even with a GPS. We were sent up an incredibly narrow road. To turn a corner it was a three point turn and very dangerous. At one stage someone came down the other way and we had to reverse down this dreadful road about 30 meters in order for the other car to pass. Later we were to find out that there was a slightly better road which should be taken. Driving up this road in a storm was absolute madness. We stayed in the Lavendar room. Unfortunately the bathroom was downstairs. I realize that the house was old but the bathroom downstairs was very small, smelt and simply needed a total revamp. The electric plug was hanging out of the wall. You had to squeeze past a chest of drawers to get into the small shower, which had no shower door or curtain, and some other things were not ideal. Going down stairs with no railing and only a rope to hang onto in the middle of the night did not suit us. If you don't mind the narrow roads, want the small village experience and don't mind the fact that the room is small, (but has an incredible view) and you don't mind the bathroom being down stairs, small and not up to standard then Villa Michela's is an experience.
Review 22:Michela was a friendly and welcoming host with a sense of humour. The view from our balcony was great. We could see down to the lake and over to the mountains. I liked the fact that we were staying in a five hundred year old village. Michela goes out of her way to provide a fresh breakfast. She races down the incredibly narrow lane in her tiny car to get fresh provisions every morning before you get up. Breakfast was served out on the verandah which was a pleasant start to the morning. She left candles burning one night, when we went for dinner as there was a storm brewing. The storm was amazing with torrential blinding rain. We were thankful when we got back to the B and B but we were soaked. Michela also walked us almost all the way down to the restaurant on our first night because it was hard to find. She really is a lovely lady.
Review 23:we had to go downstairs for our private bath, but that's part of the deal if you stay in an authentic B&B like that
Review 24:beautiful location, very friendly host, hammock on balcony, excellent recommendation for restaurants, perfect stay!
Review 25:Villa Michela was a perfect relaxing weekend with my kids and dog on Mother's Day. Thanks to our host Michela for making it so special...the views were fabulous.

Review 29:everything from the host to the view
Review 30:Very difficult to find Had to drag 2 50 lb suitcases about 150 yards upand down stairs to get to facility
Review 31:Nice location Comfortable room and bed
Review 32:if you like 300% of romanticism - that place is for you
