Reviews for Hotel Pearl City Kobe

Review 1:The beds were just awful. I have been having back pain for over a week after sleeping in that bed. Also, the restaurant only offers an Italian buffet. So it is not worthwhile to go twice. And there are not many other restaurants nearby.

Review 2:I think the facility is showing more wear since my previous stay. Carpets were uneven and did not seem adequately vacuumed.

Review 3:Convienient location to my conference. Enjoyed the breakfasts.

Review 4:Japanese pillows and mattresses are quite stiff. Be prepared if this is not what you like. TV program has no non-Japanese channels

Review 5:Wi-Fi, sauna, continental breakfast with large variety of Japanese and European food to choose from, good restaraunt downstairs with reasonable prices

Review 6:It is in the middle of a dead business district. There is nothing aroundit except a 7-11, which is helpful if you need cash at their atmmachine. Although they offer a very dependable shuttle service, the lastshuttle leaves the mall area at 9:30pm, so you really have to call it anearly night or take a cab.We did not like the restaurant menu...very limited and not at all Japanese. They tried to make breakfast more universal, but there was no fruit and only hard boiled or scrambled eggs for Americans, with some meats and breads. It is probably okay for most.

Review 7:Staff was very nice and helpful. I even asked them to show me how to usethe coin laundry (which was awesome) and they showed me using their ownmoney! Really, really helpful. We also appreciated the free shuttle to and from the train station and the mall.

Review 8:Be aware that this hotel is in a very quiet area away from the centre of the city. No restaurants/coffee shops nearby. Just convenience store across the road. Convenient for the Conference centre.

Review 9:Spacious room for a Japanese hotel. Check out was 11am good for a later departure. Shuttle was convenient to get to ShinKobe station. Close by Portliner to get into central Kobe.

Review 10:Like most Japanese hotels, our floor and room had a hint of the stale smoking smell even though it was non-smoking. It's a little out of the way from the CBD and tourist attractions.

Review 11:We booked a standard room and requested a high floor room. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a premium top floor room with our own massage chair!

Review 12:the bed was to hard felt like the springs had broken got a sore back every morning

Review 13:Nice quite area, 7/11 right in front of the hotel, nice free shuttle bus.

Review 14:Entry to onsen was not complimentary to hotel guest. In fact it is 800 yen per pax and it starts only after 6pm.

Review 15:Shuttle bus ran quite frequently from the 2 pick up points at JR shin kobe & sannomiya.

Review 16:-the room and facilities in room is quite old -triple room but the third bed actually was sofa bed. -not much entertainment surrounding hotel in walking distance

Review 17:the price is affordable for triple room. facilities such as coin laundry really helpful especially for big family..

Review 18:The room was filthy. Every square foot of carpet had a stain. Something stained the walls and the pillow smelled bad.

Review 19:This is located in a very quite location.

Review 20:location (there are shuttle buses, but the latest is around 9 p m, monorail is expensive)

Review 21:the room was good enormously big hotel shuttle buses are free of charge smell of sea nice park nearby combini across the road

Review 22:The staff was not very friendly. The rooms were shabby and smelled of tobacco. The doors to all the rooms were open with a "house maid, please clean up this room" sign during the day. I could just walk into my room and could have walked into anyone else's too.

Review 23:Even though it said the contrary at the hotel description, there was a daily maid service. The breakfast was good.

Review 24:Triple room but the reality is twin room with extra bed. It makes room to narrow.

Review 25:Variation of breakfast menu.

Review 26:No answer

Review 62:Overcrouded dining topaz during breakfast

Review 63:Reasonable price Shuttle bus driver is pleasant

Review 64:location near subway station, 15 minuts to the centre, shuttle possibility

Review 65:Too much quiet outside and inside....so if you are a night life friendly guys dont go here...

Review 66:Very near to exhibition center... view from windows are exellent... breakfast is good as per japanese standard...

Review 67:The shuttle bus stops too early, a shuttle around 22:30 would be perfect!

Review 68:Really nice and helpful staff, if somebody does not speak english at the counter, they call somebody who does. The doorman was really helpful.

Review 69:It was hard to find the shuttle bus on the first day. The shuttle bus service stops too early

Review 70:shuttle bus. Peuple are Nice and always trying to help. Very close

Review 71:Bed is hard and just a double in size, bathroom is adequate. The pillows match the mattress.

Review 72:Although the hotel is out of town there is a free and frequent shuttle bus. Food is very good and very reasonably priced. Good storage cupboards and hanging space for a budget hotel.

Review 73:It seems that this was a luxurious hotel some 20+ years ago. The furniture, although very comfortable, certainly is aging.

Review 74:Close to the island; Large room;

Review 75:The staffs speak good English, the foods were delicious, and the room was clean. I also like the location, quite surroundings, and it's nearby the convention center and not so far from Kobe's tourism sites.

Review 76:hard beds for westerners, not the worst we slept on, but we all woke up quite sore and stiff.

Review 77:an easy location outside of the city centre. the hotel had a free bus going in and out of town, as well as there being the sky rail so it was very easy and quick to get there and back. staff very efficient and room and bathroom a decent size.

Review 78:Quite far away from train station and not near to shopping area. Anyway, the hotel did provide shutter bus which make us quite convenient too.

Review 79:The hotel allowed us to check in early. Hotel is nice.

Review 80:It cannot accommodate for a family of 4 persons in the same room. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.

Review 81:The hotel offers coin-operated Vending machine (snacks) and Laundry machines which is great for long trip traveller like us. Private parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed) and costs JPY 500 per day which is the cheaper chargeable parking rate if you drive.

Review 82:Terrible wifi connection. Closer to none.

Review 83:My conference on the port island, so the location was okay. There are closer hotels to the station, but considering the price, a five minute walk was alright.

Review 84:They didn't provide an iron when requested, citing the fire hazard.

Review 85:The staff were responsive and the room was bigger than most Japanese hotel rooms in this price range.

Review 86:No free access to computer printer. 10 minute walk from local train station. Long way from city centre.

Review 87:Clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. Quiet. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Convenient for nearby conference centre attached to Portopia Hotel. Free bus to city centre.

Review 88:They are unable to provide iron.

Review 89:Helpful staff. Free Transport to the City Hub. Requested for extra pillows during booking and it was provided upon arrival.

Review 90:It was not very nice had worse but definitely had better value for money elsewhere. Would definitely not go back Carpets look old and tacky, dirty, actually disgusting.

Review 91:Not much only that it was close to station and ikea.

Review 92:Room lighting is a bit dim. Suggest to have main room light as white light, and bed side lights remained as orange light.

Review 93:Committed in making and packing our rooms everyday!

Review 94:We asked for a non smoking room but removing the ashtray is not really non smoking. It turned out that there are actually no NON smoking rooms in the hotel. Recently they designated some floors as non smoking but not the 'business' floor.

Review 95:Location in business district good and easy to go to city center. Nothing fancy, basic business hotel like many are in Japan. Good price deal for this area and time of year. Book it sleep there and don't use the restaurant and you'll get your money's worth

Review 96:The only thing that might be improved is the english communication skills of the hotel staff. Of course you can get through with your massage anyhow.

Review 97:The hotel is simply a good place to stay. The hotel rooms are spacious, although the window view is maybe not breathtaking. I woud reccomend the hotel for both leisure and buisiness trip. The breakfast is tasty for non japanese people too. The shuttle bus will take you to the city center and back.

Review 98:The Port Island has a reputation for being "deserted". It does feel quite empty in the area.

Review 99:The hotel was in a convenient location for our purposes (on the Port island) and the Port Train line ran frequently into Kobe center, letting us easily get out to explore.

Review 100:need to pay a small fee for parking on site, should be free for guests as it got plenty of parking space

Review 101:clean and spacious, good for short stay

Review 102:a little bit old rooms

Review 103:The Shuttle bus to city

Review 109:Not near anything of value to visit within walking distance.

Review 110:The hotel was very quiet as well as comfortable. Although it is far from the Sannomiya, free hotel bus took me to the Sannomiya.

Review 111:They don't offer guests the use of an iron because it's a "fire hazard." Meanwhile, you can smoke in your room. What?

Review 112:Leaving.

Review 113:Actual rooms need attention but great price and well worth the stay

Review 114:Flash looking

Review 115:Not much.

Review 117:Some staff poor English

Review 118:Free shuttle bus to downtown

Review 119:The staff was ever willing to assist. The shuttle bas great. I will stay there again if I am in Kobe.

Review 120:No drinking water complimentary. Far from city center. Infact this hotel is near Naka Futo station more than Minami Koen.

Review 121:Friendly counter CSR

Review 122:The staff english was poor and difficult to communicate The position of the hotel has no facilities, just one convenience store nearby

Review 123:The wireless was not available at most of the time

Review 124:Close to conference center
