Reviews for Hotel Umbria
Review 1:Must have been bad experiences with other travelers. But they are really hung up on the parking pass being returned to the point of being annoying about it. It is bad enough that they have to hold your passport to keep this from happening.
Review 2:Centrally located to main square.
Review 3:Streetnoise in the weekend. Hotel is cheap so that is what to expect: very basic and old. Carpets dirty, bathroom not really clean, 1 towel was dirty. Can be hard to find, look for the big signs from Corso Pietro Vannucci or Via dei Priori. No airco. Heating was not working, cold in autumn
Review 4:It all depends on which room you are in and what time of the week. Some rooms have a nice view. Staff is very friendly. Location is perfect, 6 min walk to minimetro or plaza Italia. Good wifi in the room.
Review 5:The rooms and shower are quite small. Not a lot of room to move was you have luggage in the room.
Review 6:Breakfast was good, they made you proper cafe coffee which was lovely! Close to shops, cafe and restaurants! Value for money. Staff are very helpful
Review 7:Central location was a bonus so we could explore the town and enjoy al fresco dining in the evening. Hotel manager very helpful but his English was limited. Beautiful white cotton towels (not the fluffy variety) were provided which worked better than I would have thought.
Review 8:Our room was too dark and the shower was really small and uncomfortable. A bit noisy at night.
Review 9:It has a good location and the staff is nice. If you arrive late at night you have to take a taxi to get there.
Review 10:This place has a special character in a fascinating city, updated facility in an old building. The room was spacious with everything needed for a good night sleep.
Review 11:The room was very hot due to lack of air con. There was a fan. Had to climb quite a few stairs to reach hotel.
Review 12:Location was very central. Very clean. Quiet.
Review 13:Előre kellene tájékoztatni arról , hogy a szállodához nem lehet kocsival bejutni . A parkoló nincs messze , de megtalálni 1 órába került !!!!!!
Review 14:Minden rendben volt .
Review 15:I knew when I arrived that I had been here before - thankfully not as an overnight guest but to visit friends some 30 years ago. This place is tired and it shows. No air con (a fan in the bedroom isn't really sufficient for an Umbrian summer - although we were having a particularly hot spell) is unforgivable in this day and age. The toilet seat in one room broke, the shower in another had a mind of its own and the decor was dated and depressing. We didn't stay for breakfast. If this is the last place in town (it is central but reached via a grotty side alley) then it is clean and the beds are comfortable. For €98 per night (not including breakfast) you can probably do better though.
Review 16:Not much - it was a one-night stop. An expensive 2 star.
Review 17:Although there was a roof top terrace, I specifically asked for a room with a balcony which was not met. The single room was a bit small and the shower was tiny.
Review 18:Hotel Umbria is a small comfortable hotel offering good value for money in a great location. The wifi is strong and the terrace is quite pleasant.
Review 19:Breakfast (not good value for the price considering alternatives) Wifi service mediocre Rooms are dark Staff : Not bad but not really willing to help Really steep to get to the main street, although very close
Review 20:Location
Review 21:Cramped bathrooms, miniature dirty shower with doors that don't really work, poor lighting, filthy carpet, one rude staff, not helpful.
Review 22:We liked leaving.
Review 23:Don't even think how to reach that hotel by car! Put it somewhere at the town parking place (the closest is just 300 away) and walk upstairs. Your car could be squeezed in an extremely narrow lane with a high incline in other case! The breakfast was very poor. The comfort of the hotel is rather low.
Review 24:It's located close enough to the city center.
Review 25:TV reception was not good in our room.
Review 26:Very central and beautiful location in the old part of the city but amazingly quiet. Felt very comfortable. Family owned and run which means they care. Breakfasts are simple but a pleasant start to the day. Woke up each morning to the great smell of croissants baked fresh in the hotel kitchen.
Review 27:Vacation was too short
Review 28:Perugia is a very nice city. Hotel Umbria is situated very central. Staff is extremly friendly and helpful in all situations. I would like to admit Mr. Parso who supported us with advises and problems solving. Room was clean and homelike. Evenings was nice to have a glass of lockal wine on the terasse of the hotel. We spended a very nice time there. Ludmila
Review 29:The mattress was very old and uncomfortable. The hotel itself was hard to locate but we did not have GPS. Parking was a little challenging but that's to be expected in a city.
Review 30:The location was great, very close to a main piazza with good restaurants close by. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little older but clean. Wi-Fi was free and very easy to access.
Review 31:The only drawback (serious in our opinion) was that people went out to the terrace below to smoke at all hours of the day and night, and it drifted directly into our room. It detracted fairly significantly from our enjoyment of this otherwise excellent hotel. Our suggestion: make the terrace a no-smoking zone.
Review 32:The front desk staff was most helpful and, unlike many 'hotels' in Italy, was actually staffed 24 hours a day, a wonderful bonus. Breakfast was fine, our room was quite comfortable, quiet and had a view onto the terrace.
Review 33:Party outside... It was very lively with all the consequences, which is something that you want to take part to, rather than watch from outside (at 2 am in the night..). However, it has nothing to do with this lovely hotel.
Review 34:Very central location, perfectly friendly staff and bearably good country breakfast. Taxi ride to the hotel is a huge fun, following all those spiral and narrow roads. All attractions and sights of Perugia within very short walking distance. Overall, enjoyable stay and great value for money. I would rate hotel with a higher number of stars if i were able to.
Review 35:the shower distributing is fixed which cant be moved. not sure if there is smoking room and non smoking,i got the smell several sometimes
Review 36:position is good even need to take few stairs. landlord is kindly. the room is small, but enough for me,clean and quiet which is important.internet single is powerful.
Review 37:Parking! Confusing info about parking and not all staff speak English. Probably better to stay outside the old town if you have a car.
Review 38:budget hotel close to the old town. Friendly staff
Review 39:Shower very small , barely held in.
Review 40:Staff very prietenos.Hotelul is located right downtown . Towels changed daily.
Review 41:Fabulous location. It's especially great to have parking available right in the heart of Perugia.
Review 42:La vicinanza al centro e la tranquillità dell'hotel
Review 43:The shower head was sort of broken with water splashing in weird directions.
Review 44:Staff is friendly. Beds are comfortable.
Review 45:Il bagno e la doccia mediocri
Review 46:La location centrale
Review 47:too small showers
Review 48:Location,friendly staff, wlan, clean rooms
Review 49:As a woman on my own, bit nervous going down narrow dark streets back to hotel on my own
Review 50:Clean room and close to centre of Perugia
Review 51:Very small rooms. No air con.
Review 52:Good location. Don't expect much for €30
Review 53:Incredibly obscure location. booking.com "on foot" instructions misleading & hopelessly inaccurate.
Review 54:No AC
Review 55:No lift
Review 56:Position of Hotel is excellent as it is very close to centre
Review 57:friendly, helpful staff location cleanliness fast Wifi
Review 58:Situated very close to centre. Was easy to find..good signage.
Review 59:the rooms are clean, comfortable beds, perfect location, the hotel is in the heart of the city, having its own parking
Review 60:The size of the shower cubicle!
Review 61:The location and the friendliness
Review 62:Tv did not have any English channels such as BBC world news.
Review 63:The hotel is located very close to the centre and also to the MiniMetro which makes it very easy to get to and from the train station for day trips to places such as Assisi. The staff were very helpful and friendly with everything, including recommending nearby restaurants and laundromats. I had avery pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel, although it would not suit people who cannot manage stairs or steep hills.
Review 64:location in center close to small shopping area breakfast price/quality is Ok wi-fi no problem take warm sleeping clothes if you stay in april-early may. may be cold in the room.
Review 65:Very nice, helpful and flexible personnel. Great cost-effectiveness ratio. Quiet place within the easy reach to centre. Reccomending when you search for an affordable place to stay in Perugia.
Review 66:the most important thing for me is cleaning. it stayed under all critters for me. we obviously afraid standind the floor. it was so dirty. we walked around with shoes.all linen was dirty. toilet and bath was very very poor overall
Review 67:it is in the middle of the city center but almost every place in the middle of the city in perugia
Review 68:Nothing
Review 69:This was the third time I have stayed in the hotel and it never fails to impress. The location is excellent, the rooms are warm and clean and although could do with some modernising, this just adds to the overall charm.
Review 70:It could use a face-lift in the sense of more real antique tasteful interior decoration. The shower needs a renewal.
Review 71:The hotel is friendly and location is very good. I will return.
Review 72:We had a room on the first floor, right next to the reception. And the walls definitely were not sound-proof we could hear voices and music from the outside. Besides before going to bed we noticed a huge spider on the ceiling. But on the whole it' a good place to stay for one night for a city trip.
Review 73:Good location. Helpful staff.
Review 74:1. Noise during one of two nights spent there (without reaction of the staff)
Review 75:1. Location: near centre, bus stop and mini-metro stop (very practical) 2. Good price. 3. Nice staff.
Review 76:If you can't navigate stairs, this is not the place for you. Therepossibly could be front door taxi service, but for all intents andpurposes, you will be navigating a flight of stairs or sloped walkwayeach time you leave the hotel. For us this was a plus. We got outworkout in everyday without hitting the gym.
Review 77:The staff was courteous. Everyone spoke enough English tocommunicate, one person spoke very good English. The location wasperfect if you're visiting the historic center. One of the fewplaces in town that could accommodate four people to a room.Continental breakfast was available for €5 and was decent, a good wayto start the day on a budget.
Review 78:Difficult to find- needs better directions on booking.com.
Review 79:Staff were very obliging and helpful. Breakfast was very adequate. Coffee and tea was available all day.
Review 80:our room was very small and it was very hot so as a consequence fan was not adequate. the hotel was a long way from the middle of town but walking distance (although all up steep hill and stairs) to some excellent restaurants and shops.
Review 81:staff were excellent and breakfast was very good
Review 82:Needs updating in parts, bathroom, flaky paint
Review 83:Great location, quiet considering busy location Staff very helpful and flexible Roof terrace very pretty Reception area welcoming
Review 84:If you have luggage carrying up the hill is difficult. But this is true at most any Perugia hotel
Review 85:Great central location, yet very quiet. Wifi worked well
Review 86:The hotel was in a great location in the medieval historic center. It was confusing to find it by car as it is not possible to drive up to the front. The town of Perugia has a lot of buildings within walls and steep steps to climb up and down. It's a bit serpentine. Once we got our bearings, we were able to walk to and from the hotel with ease. The main street Via Vannucci was a 2 minute walk and had lots of restaurants and shops. We parked in a free parking area which the manager told us about which was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We drove to Assisi for a day trip. The staff was great, the room nice and clean. We would definitely come back again and stay here!
Review 87:The breakfast was poor. The receptionist at breakfast was not at all friendly. The shower had not been cleaned properly following the previous occupant and was in a poor state of repair leading to flooding of the bathroom floor & clothing. The carpet on the stairs was unsafe, as it was not fastened securely. The windows and shutters would not close securely, due to poor maintenance. The noise from revellers in the centre of Perugia continued till 3 am.
Review 88:We were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful receptionist who dealt very efficiently with our query about car parking facilities, and quickly provided an extra pillow on request. The bedding and towels were spotlessly clean. The hotel was very central/good location.
Review 89:Our family enjoyed this B&B very much. It was clean and quiet with helpful staff and an fresh and ample breakfast and a great location. We appreciated that the staff spoke excellent English.
Review 90:Difficult to find, the door wouldn't shut without locking it by key from inside, and the shower head simply sprayed water out to the sides.
Review 91:The location was excellent, as was the price.
Review 92:I was in Perugia only one day and night,In that reason I chose hotelUmbria with its excellent location for going around beautiful oldcity.Hotel is romantic and clean,If you like something authentic withoutmodern interiors always the same in lot of hotels,Umbria is excellentchoice for you.
Review 93:friendly staff & the rooms were very clean. Besides, the hotel is ideally situated right in the centre of Perugia -- ideally for a weekend away like we did! Definitely good value for money!
Review 94:Although overall clean and tidy, attention could be given to shutter "lips" that have collected some cigarette stubs--in a room that is suppose to be smoke free. Bring your own hairdryer and travel clock (if this is important to you) since these aren't provided in the room.
Review 95:The location was perfect and the staff was delightful--friendly and accommodating. The room was tiny but nothing more was necessary since this hotel is perfect for a short stay in the area to visit the surrounding communities.
Review 96:No lift. And if you are travelling by car, be prepared to drive through veeeery narrow medieval streets and keep in mind, that GPS navigator would likely be offering you a route through ZTL (district with limited traffic access), which is active before 13:30. If you happen to drive through ZTL and it was before 13:30 while you did so, you'll need to fill in a special ZTL exception form, available at the reception desk in the hotel (it's okay to do it after the fact - just don't forget to).
Review 97:Very cosy little hotel. Extraordinarily helpful and cheerful staff. Just 2 minutes walking distance from city center.
Review 98:Our room was very hot during the night, making sleep difficult. Breakfast basic - some fresh bread would have been appreciated.
Review 99:Central location, the bed linen and towels were superbly clean and ironed.
Review 100:quite old building, no elevator
Review 101:excellent location. friendly staff although they spoke only italian, clean room, fair breakfast, free parking position outside the hotel
Review 102:Hotel Umbria is in the heart of Perugia so if you are going to afestival there (in our case, the Jazz Fest) and want to be super closeand not pay too much for it, Hotel Umbria is your perfect choice. Theowners were super friendly and were up all night (we got in at 3 amboth nights and they were waiting for us - we were not the lastclients to come in!). The breakfast is good enough and there is fastwifi throughout, even in the rooms (unusual for ITaly we found out onthis trip).
Review 103:No air-conditioning. Tiny, crowded bathroom in my single room.
Review 104:Great location near two piazzas, many dining areas, shops, banks, etc...The staff was extremely helpful in giving directions to places andsuggesting places to visit.
Review 105:This is an amazing hotel in a perfect location. Great value for money, impeccably clean, extremely friendly staff who go out of their way tomake you feel comfortable and welcome and an additional bonus of gettingto stay in a historic building that makes you really feel part of abeautiful and fascinating town.I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!
Review 106:Room a little small, rug not very clean, only one channel available on TV.
Review 107:Staff friendly. Room available quite early in the morning; around ten, nice hot water.
Review 108:Could be a little bit nosy when sleeping at nights.
Review 109:I was quite surprised with the Hotel's location, in the historic building, hard to imagine it more centric. In some metres up is the main street with all restaurants, bars and shops. Hotel's staff was quite enjoyable and helpful as well. Rooms and bathrooms are a little bit small, though clean and cozy. Breakfast has no-frills but you could always reckon on a cup of cappucino and piece of fresh cake.
Review 110:The breakfast is best avoided.
Review 111:The hotel is charming and the position delightful. Extremely good value for money.
Review 112:A bit cold ar night.
Review 113:Great location, quite near the main street. Typical building, nicely decorated. Comfortable room.
Review 114:Parking is a real issue, especially with bags. Decor tired
Review 115:specially the shower - disaster!!
Review 116:The shower sprayed everywhere except where you wanted it to - it was hopeless but at least it was hot
Review 117:Great location in the old town
Review 118:A little bit thin walls, very good is to hear a neighbor. But value for money.
Review 119:Good location (city center), near the mini metro station.
Review 120:Friendly staff, clean an large room, close to the city center. Optional breakfast was ok too.
Review 121:very noisy on Friday night. too much noise in the foyer at night, although it may have been outside.
Review 122:Nothing. You get what you pay for.
Review 123:Price Location Staff WiFi
Review 124:nothing
Review 125:It was 5 minutes walking to the main square and Duomo Confortable and clean, very good price.
Review 126:Had all the services that I needed.
