Reviews for Hotel Conte Ruggero

Review 1:If there are only a few guests the front desk is not staffed so the hotel needs your exact arrival time. The owner of the bar nearby called the hotel number for us to tell them we arrived. Good coffee and food at that bar.

Review 2:There is reserved parking on the street in front of the hotel.

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:The receptionist came to find us when we couldn't find the hotel. Great hospitality and we enjoyed the ambiance of a Sicilian breakfast in the local cafe a few doors down.

Review 5:Very nice welcome aperitivo

Review 6:-There was nobody to serve coffe or tea for the breakfast, -No WiFi, - Some lights from electrical devices in the room were anoying me during night,

Review 7:- Parking in front of the Hotel, - Location close to the center,

Review 8:The hotel is not professionally run at all, rather it provides jobs for a few of the country locals. It looks like a modernised old building, but is actually quite tacky in places.Only one staff member, Andronella, speaks a little English, and is of any use.. The rest of the staff speak no English, French, Spanish, German, Russian etc, only Sicilian Italian (which Italians say they find difficult!).My room was in need of much attention. One of the shower compartment's glass walls was hanging off, there was no soap or toothmug/glass, and when I lifted the bedroom blind and saw the filth piled up on the balcony outside, I couldn't believe it. When I went down to breakfast the first morning, I couldn't get back into my room because the lock was broken. My routine for that day was put out because I had to wait for outside help, then move my clothes to a temporary space, then go for my 'day out', then move into another room. I lost a whole day there, but when I mentioned this to the man on duty on paying my bill, he didn't understand the problem for me (I don't speak his Sicilian and he doesn't speak any other tongue.)Breakfast takes place in a basement DR, all the Italian guests had their coffees brought downstairs from the bar. When I asked for tea, the employee didn't understand, and it took a long time for him to understand about hot water and a T bag. Fortunately I had my green tea bags with me, because they had none and I went upstairs and demo'd how to make tea. This is a little back-country town and there is no understanding of business practice here. This is a great pity, but foreign guests will just have to put up with it, it seems, because there is such a wonderful Roman site nearby, and by the time guests have booked in here, it is too late to move to one of the other hotels in the town.

Review 9:It is only a 5 minute walk from the so-called 'bus station' (which is just a bus stop outside a cafe).

Review 10:Air condition did not work properly, WLAN did not work at all, internet point available in lobby, though

Review 11:Very friendly and helpful staff, even though facilities were not in the best state. Room ok, everything a bit old.

Review 12:Water from the shower flooded the whole room. It was impossible to use the bathroom after that.

Review 13:Good location, close to the main square. Breakfast ok.

Review 14:The surprise was that when we went to breakfast there was nothing! (had passed a group of cyclists who had eaten it all). After complaining, we were told that all the breakfast we had to share it. Following turn to complain that no longer had anything to share, they brought some things for breakfast, but not all things that initially had.

Review 15:We ged the cheapest room, and although a little bit small, it was good.

Review 16:The very small bathroom, with a stall shower you couldn't turnaround in. And the worst breakfast served at any hotel we have ever beento. The toaster burnt the bread, no fruit or cold cuts, only hard boiledeggs, very hard rolls and stale cereal that was days old. At 5pm, eachevening had to ask, at the reception desk, to have the heat turned on inthe room. Original reservation was for 170 Euros, for 2 nights, then gotspecial prepaid rate of 70 Euros for 2 nights. If I had to pay theoriginal 170 Euros I would have been very upset and felt cheated forwhat I didn't receive.

Review 17:The location, with access to walking around the city, seeing the oldhistoric sites and a short drive to the Villa Romana del Casale, aspectacular Roman Villa with magnificent floor mosaics.

Review 18:The bathroom flooded (no shower alcove or curtain). There wasn't much choice for breakfast and no hot drinks unless you went up to ask the reception.

Review 19:Quiet and close to old section of town

Review 20:Some details in room of local area, like a map of town, and location ofTrattoria to eat in evening.

Review 21:Helpful guy at desk on arrival who quickly booked taxi to reach Villawith mosaics after travel delays. Easy reach of interbus arrival point.

Review 22:The key to the allocated bedroom would not work when I used it - it hadbeen newly cut. Handles came off cupboards in the bedroom, and even onthe main entrance door! The breakfast was extremely poor - just a rolland honey in a carton. A request for butter was met with 4 packets ofbutter so frozen and hard that they could not be spread. I struggled tomake myself understood with staff who, whilst well intentioned, had verylittle English.

Review 23:Location close to bus station.

Review 24:Breakfast was stale. I suspect it had been laid out overnight. Coffee was instant. Reception staff not well informed.

Review 25:convenient location for bus

Review 26:No WiFi available + we had to pay cash instead of credit card

Review 27:Breakfast

Review 28:Very nice copy-paiting on the walls, heartwarming place, it`s nice, breakfast starts at 7 A.m/
