Villa Trigona sells fast on our site. Set in beautiful countryside less than 0.6 miles from Piazza Armerina, Villa Trigona is an 18th-century building with large gardens, where you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and numerous sports.
Once home to Sicilian nobles, Villa Trigona’s elegant rooms and lounges still contain antiques. Rooms have lovely countryside views and on site you will find a lounge with an old fireplace, a small library and a TV room.
In Villa Trigona’s parkland you can take walks through pinewoods and olive groves, or play lawn bowling, ping-pong or board games. Try your hand at archery or take the hotel’s bikes out and explore. Horse rides can also be organized and children have their own outdoor playground.
Villa Trigona is well known for its friendly hospitality and its excellent cuisine. A sweet and savory breakfast featuring local products is served outside in the courtyard in summer. Sicilian cuisine is available at lunch and dinner on request.

Reviews for Villa Trigona

Review 1:nothing!

Review 2:The staff were genuinely welcoming and very helpful. The evening meals were excellent. Real Sicilian food interestingly put together and served with wine. Very good value. The room facilities were plain, but we had all we needed. It was the people who made this place a delight. Nice to be in the countryside. Easy drive to the amazing Villa del Romano.

Review 3:for diner it may make sense to explore a few more options for vegetarians that are up to par with what non-vegetarians are served..

Review 4:beautiful old building with gardens, full of old furniture & art & friendly people. Excellent breakfast & also the option to eat diner at the villa is rewarding. well located for day trips to the roman villa, also very near the town but still in a rural environment

Review 5:The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The grounds of the villa very well planted and laid out.Lovely atmosphere.

Review 6:Tranquil setting, historical details, cheerful and helpful staff, excellent food and wine. Good location for day trips to Piazza Armerina, Villa Romana, Aidone, and Morgantina.

Review 7:The building's acoustics send sound echoing seemingly forever. A small child didn't stop carrying on until one in the morning. One's sympathy for parents under stress is overcome the sense of personal privation.

Review 8:The inn had great charm. We wish we could have spent more time there

Review 9:Breakfast did not meet the otherwise excellent standard. Lovely breakfast cakes and pastries need to be covered over if only with cling film

Review 10:Nice welcome by friendly and helpful staff. Lovely meals although may not be to everybody's liking. Secure parking.

Review 11:We loved this Villa. Very friendly and helpful staff and spacious surroundings. They also have a typical Sicilian dinner available which was a lovely meal and is highly recommended. Very convenient for visiting Villa Romana del Casale.

Review 12:Lovely location with a beautiful room. The food was excellent, some of the best we have had in Sicily. The staff were very helpful. A thoroughly relaxing stay near to one of the worlds best preserved and extensive Roman mosaics

Review 13:Piazza Armerina looked disorganised and shabby not like some other villages we have been to previously.

Review 14:Everything was simply wonderful. Quadruple room was very big and extremely clean. We all loved the pool area and breakfast was very abundant and pleasant seeing that it could be taken outside under the very old trees. The silence is unbelievable :-)

Review 15:Mosquitoes!

Review 16:Lovely family-run hotel in a rural part of Sicily, within 10 minutes drive of town. Home cooked meals for dinner and amazing breakfasts. Kids for ours to play with. Beautifully kept historic home and grounds. A real treat. Very handy for shopping, touring and good restaurants in the town. Very friendly

Review 17:It was all good. No fridge or coffe tea making facilities in room but both available at reception.

Review 18:Everything was fantastic. They even did my washing for me!

Review 19:airconditioning is set on a timer and fixed temperature which is too low. its too hot in the room. upon request this can be changed. food at dinner is OK, and setting is very nice, quality could be improved to taste real sicilian.

Review 20:perfect base for visiting villa romane early in the day, beautiful location, large swimming pool, many herbs and trees around, dinner of many courses with other guests, on adjoining tables, very relaxed atmosphere.

Review 21:The grounds need to be spruced up. Its a bit messy and the pictures in the brochure are somewhat unreal. the gardens could be made much, much prettier and more suitable for strolling pre- and post dinner. The swimming pool area did not have enough chaises and umbrellas.

Review 22:Setting was outstanding. Breakfast superb - so many incredible choices. The dinner outside with multiple guests from different countries was magical.

Review 23:Paying 2 euros for a bathing cap that no other guests seemed to be wearing!

Review 24:The building, the furnishings, the pool, the grounds, the al fresco evening meal with all the guests, the location, the staff.

Review 25:No air conditioning: leaflet in room said they would control the temperature acording to local standards! It was too warm for us and we had to open the (ground floor) door for air which meant we were woken at dawn by the sun.

Review 26:Friendly, lovely period villa, good secure parking, excellent €25 in-house supper package, most comfortable bed

Review 27:The room and the bathroom were not particularly attractive. Dark, neglected and poorly furnished it was however quite large and with high ceilings.

Review 28:The location was convenient for visiting Piazza Armerina ant the fantastic Villa del Casale. The swimming pool was a treat after a day of tourism. Breakfast was good.

Review 29:Lovely house and good value. Enjoyed having dinner at the villa instead of going out to a restaurant. Spacious room and very comfortable bed. Felt more like a private house than a hotel (which to me is a good thing). Nice sitting areas. Staff really helpful and friendly.

Review 30:The beds were not good. We needed two beds. There was a double, which had a memory topper to disguise the mattress. The other bed was a folding sprung mattress bed of inferior quality, and not what we would have expected from Booking.com

Review 31:The offer of an evening meal was a definite plus; hot water to make a pot of tea.

Review 32:pool, table tennis and archery were not really working yet (mid April), check with hotel in advance to be sure what is available

Review 33:Nice place with large orchard and to stay overnight or 2 nights when visiting Villa romana (unesco site). Trigona house is callm with its own history, great comfortable rooms, delightfull breakfast (best we had in Sicilly). Dinner is set and wellworth staying in for itself - all local produce, vegetables and meat, cheeses, wine, desrets. Not to be missed.

Review 34:The food was delicious, seasonal and plentiful. The staff was competent and thoughtful, especially the young man from Afghanistan who served our twenty-three year old granddaughter afternoon tea.

Review 35:Too many surveillance cameras Travelled in the winter season, so the outdoor area was a bit neglected.

Review 36:Cosy atmosphere Coffee and tea (milk for the young one), and fruit available 24h

Review 37:There was nothing to dislike, but if you are looking for a place that is easy to find or fitted out with modern furniture and conveniences, this is not the place for you.

Review 38:In this large, old house. They made us dinner, which week they didn't have to do and which was delicious and made us feel truly welcome. The views in the morning were soothing and delightful. If you want a taste of what was wonderful about Sicily in the middle of the 20th century and before, Villa Trigona is a discovery.

Review 39:Breakfast was ok, but not certainly not gourmet.

Review 40:Great value as an easy base to see the mosaics at Villa Romana del Casale. Staff was friendly, wifi worked well, and the little soccer field was fun for the kids. Dinner was easy, tasty, and a good value.

Review 41:That we had only two nights there.

Review 42:Fascinating reclaimed architecture, complex host who put on the most remarkable dinner when we showed up four hours late.

Review 43:The staff; very helpfull and friendly. The total atmosphere and especially having diner in the villa; the best diner we had during our 9 day's trip in Sicily.

Review 44:Difficult to find .Potentially lovely breakfast ruined by lack of organisation. Poor coffee. Cold meats/ scrambled eggs not replenished. We chose to have dinner. There was no menu. Red wine was served. With great difficulty we changed to white wine which was served warm! Dinner included wine but at checkout we were charged for wine and had to argue before having charge removed. In Villa Trigona there is an attitude that the customer is always wrong.Very disappointing.

Review 45:Lovely setting and grounds. Large bedroom. Comfortable bed.

Review 46:Chaotic 'organisation' and amateurish staff. Asked if we'dlike dinner first night and accepted. Not told what it would be. Askedfor some wine before dinner and went to wait for it - but it nevermaterialised. Food when it came indifferent. Dining room cramped anddinner ruined by noisy children left uncontrolled by parents. Breakfastspoor and not replenished - first morning no egg, tinned fruit, andlukewarm coffee, next day got there in time for some egg but laterarrivals missed out ! Various people connected with establishment seemedto mill about , some aimlessly, and food service was sporadic. FawltyTowers sprang to mind. High star ratings claimed most inappropriate. Adisappointment given other sunny reviews.

Review 47:Quiet location apart from barking dogs so typical of Italy. Nicespacious room once we had asked to be moved from small cramped oneinitially allocated.

Review 48:Only one and important issue: Pls, guys,we are in the 21Th century.Update your WI-FI capacity!!!

Review 49:All.A beautiful house, warm hospitality, huge room, amazing breakfast and fascinating dinner with a very modest price

Review 50:Nothing we didn't like

Review 51:Wished we could have stayed longer. Swimming pool such a treat, dinner fabulous sitting with all guests in the evening. Breakfast great. Staff could not have done enough for you

Review 52:Absolutely fantastic villa, full of charm and history. The rooms are well designed, a good selection of outdoor facilities (pool, bikes for rent, ping-pong table etc.). Very friendly and pleasant stuff. The place offers its guests an ambient dinner (at extra charge). Beware that entering the pool requires a bathing cap (even for men).

Review 53:Nothing in particular, mayby q bit hard to find without navigation

Review 54:Relaxed country style Clean good service Not so tourist geared Nice roubust style italian fixed price menu

Review 55:Beautiful location and surroundings. Excellent swimming pool. Would definitely recommend dinner - fantastic food. Wish we'd booked more than one night!

Review 56:Lovely country house very close to town. Charming and helpfull staff. Beautiful grounds and nice swimming pool. Great home-made breakfast and dinner "al fresco". Great stay!

Review 57:Beds a bit soft.

Review 58:staff very friendly, lovely atmosphere, great food - especially the evening meal, home made patisseries in the morning, large rooms and plently of things for children like swings, table tennis, archery, big pool,.....

Review 59:loved everything about it.

Review 60:Beautiful villa, exquisitely arranged. Smell of baking brioche and cakes for breakfast woke us up (along with roosters) -- heavenly breakfast in gorgeous spot.

Review 61:Nothing

Review 62:Dinner was excellent we really enjoyed the plentiful and delicious food. The house was interesting and location good for visiting nearby Roman villa and mosaics.

Review 63:Loved the staff, especially Hashmet who was kind and humorous and Lydia who was very helpful. Good food. Fabulous breakfast on terrace. Archery. Pool. Were there for only one night but loved it and would recommend it.

Review 64:Nothing - too good!

Review 65:After 5 weeks holiday spending time in old towns combined with beaches, a farm stay was a good option. Villa trigona is excellent. We had a beautiful 2 room suite upstairs overlooking the courtyard and olive groves. There is also a really big pool and some cute bikes if you feel like exercise. The staff were fantastic as well, Marcia very helpful on arrival, as were the boys assisting. We had booked ourselves in for dinner which was eaten in the courtyard. A gastronomy delight - many courses, beautiful wine - a great traditional meal. Signage to the Villa once you get near the town is very good.

Review 66:Very nice place and staff. Dinner recommended

Review 67:Beautiful inn, delicious food, and convenient to Villa Romana del Casale

Review 68:welcoming staff, very nicely furnished and spacious room, lovely setting, possibility of evening meal which was superb.

Review 71:The pool is great and the staff are very friendly. The food was plentiful and tasty. The building itself is very impressive.

Review 72:Nothing.

Review 73:All. The structure is great and it is a very nice place. We had dinner at the hotel. It was wonderful, and the breakfast also was.

Review 74:Barking dogs at a farm nearby.

Review 75:The 5 course dinners, which included local food and wine, and self-service breakfasts were superb in quality and cost.

Review 76:Quality and old world charm

Review 77:Authentic atmosphere, nice staff, silent place.

Review 78:Difficult to find

Review 88:Excellent meal with traditional Sicilian cooking Extensive grounds very calm and peaceful Friendly staff

Review 89:nothing

Review 90:The setting, the pool, the wines the dinner, the breakfast, the staff. Close to sites

Review 91:We loved the country villa atmosphere and the family style dinner in the dining room was wonderful. A real gem.

Review 92:I will never forget my time here! The staff, the food and the nice owner who still gave the place a special charm. Thank you all!

Review 93:Large pool Exceptional dinners Friendly staff Large room

Review 94:Ancient family home, with pool, gardens and archery(!). Very welcoming.

Review 95:can't think of anything

Review 96:the staff was very nice and helpfull the pool the breakfast dinner lovely garden

Review 97:The hotel exceeded all our expectations, superb in every way.

Review 98:The mattress.

Review 99:Kind staff, abundant dinner of local dishes for a fair price.

Review 100:The fact that we were only there for one night.

Review 101:We were especially pleased with the fact that they served dinner to their guests and it was an excellent dinner and we loved the breakfast outside in the beautiful courtyard

Review 102:The villa has beautiful facilities in a typical Sicilian country setting not too far (c.a. 5 minuted drive) from Piazza Armerina. Breakfast in the court yard is just fantastic and I can only recommend the typical six-course Sicilian dinner they do every night for a really good price. Staff were super helpful, could not do enough for us. I would really recommend this place. Beautiful.

Review 103:The room vary. 2 couples travelling together had a quite different experience for the same price. Beware walls are old but in anyway sound proof from the other guests bedrooms!

Review 104:The evening meal and breakfast excellent . The situation nearness to the mosaics perfect.

Review 105:the bed was a little lumpy and I had asked for a room with a terrace as I smoke, but one was not available.

Review 106:the staff were fabulous and friendly, the dinner was perfect.

Review 107:Very helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Very welcoming and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Variable supper...idea of local Fresh produce excellent, but on second night was a bit disorganised, and took ages. On the first night was delicious. We were very early in the season, and the garden and pool area will be wonderful when it stops raining and being cold.

Review 108:Nothing!

Review 109:We loved Villa Trigona, the room was very comfortable and clean, with a nice view over the pretty garden. It is within easy reach of Piazza Armerina. The evening meal was very enjoyable. However, the best thing about Villa Trigona is the staff, unfailingly pleasant and helpful. Many thanks to them all.

Review 110:Very friendlyand homely.Easy to find and near enough to the Casale del Romane. We found Al Fogher restaurant on the road to Aidone very atmospheric and delicious food.

Review 111:The setting is lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating, helping us to get a taxi into the town and ensuring the taxi driver would collect us for the way back. The grounds are great and the breakfast extensive.

Review 112:There was nothing that we didn't like.

Review 113:We loved the setting of the Villa in the countryside and the staff were so nice. The Villa felt like a wonderful country house. The evening meals were delicious, as was the house wine!

Review 114:our 2 problems were that one room had no heat. They brought in a space heater but it ran out of propane after 1 day and was never replaced. Luckily it warmed up a bit at the end. Also the wifi only worked in the main area, not in the rooms.

Review 115:The staff was so friendly and they tried very hard to meet all our needs. The rooms were comfortable and large.

Review 116:Cat droppings in the courtyard, unclean bathroom around the toilet area, recent renovations in the garden which had been poorly done. Did nothave the warmth or atmosphere of all the other accommodation I hadstayed in whilst in Italy. Running water all night outside my bedroom.
