Reviews for Karuizawa Prince Hotel
Review 1:Very limited options of restaurants inside the hotel. Shops and food court in the outlet mall close way too early.
Review 2:The location is excellent, very convenient. Ski area and outlet mall are both within walking distance. Hot spring is great too!
Review 3:the cottage's door not sealing well, some cold air enter the house. small room's heater not enough heat.
Review 4:Good facility, kids love the sky field beside the cottage, quiet environment, responsive and helpful staff, easy to access, cottage's location very near to car park. The next door premium outlet is superb.
Review 5:Extra charge for hot spring.
Review 6:Extremely convenient location. It is a place perfect resort for family with kids and elderly. Every thing is within walking distance including ski school, ski lift, shopping mall, hot spring...... with variety of activities so those who don't ski can also enjoy.
Review 7:The hotel was old and the room was small. Hot spring was opened at very limited period during the day and was too small to accommodate the large number of hotel guests.
Review 8:It was close to the ski resort and a shopping mall.
Review 9:The distance from our hotel room (a cottage) is far and require shuttle bus from train station to hotel lobby, and then a buggy to the cottage is tedious. But guess that's the concept of cottage living.
Review 10:The staff are generally helpful and polite. Mr Otaki - concierge from prince hotel west was truly helpful in ensuring we made it out to the Karuizawa train station so that we can take the Shinkansen train on time to tokyo.
Review 11:children's sledge and playarea was closed. nothing for kids who cannot skii to do
Review 12:it has a caddy 24/7 that can bring us to wherever in the resort and it comes really fast!
Review 13:The hotel itself was a bit old but all facilities are still very clean, we had a room nearby to the outlet exit and onsen entrance so it was great!
Review 14:A one stop spot to entertain everyone. Snow park for my toddler, onsen and outlet shopping for me and my husband
Review 15:We couldn't order room service as there was a language gap, The operator kept on forwarding us to room service and once answered, the phone went dead. To be fair, we spoke to the front desk about it and they were apologetic and wanted to do the ordering for us but we were already out and on our way to the shopping/restaurant area next to the property. Breakfast could have more 'no meat' hot meal option.
Review 16:Loved the log cabin and the fact that my kids could have their own space in the room. The cabin was really cosy and wifi connection was pretty good. Housekeeping was pretty prompt as well and cleaned the room well. Loved the fact that the shopping outlet was just 5-7 minutes walk away. The kids enjoyed the snow activities- ski, sledge & snowboarding..while mummy & daddy enjoyed chillexing at the cabin..
Review 17:Concierge service center, just one minute from the station. Staff is very helpful for luggage storage and guidance for sight seeing in downtown. Stay at East wing-a very nice cottage and next to ski slope.
Review 18:Booking.com system ,we order 4 person /room but it showed 2 person /room in prince hotel system,it's really bad.
Review 19:Nice service from prince hotel.
Review 20:The only 2 things we did not like - no aircon during the day and it was quite hot we were there oct 26 to 27, the bathroom had a funny smell. I think it needed better exhaust facilities
Review 21:beautiful location, wonderful scenery, smmell of clean mountain air and scent of pine, good food.
Review 22:Access to onzen wasn't complimentary - that was not obvious during the booking which stated that the facilities included fitness and onzen
Review 23:Cottage had heated floors which made the temp very warm and cozy
Review 24:The price of food and restaurant in the hotel a bit too expensive. However, you can find many delicious food and sweet with fair price at city center (Ginza Karuizawa) which is not far from Karuizawa train station.
Review 25:The hotel is in very good location and have many activities and facilities that will answer vary ages traveler. One night is not enough for this place. I recommend to stay here at least 2 nights.
Review 26:Cozy cottage with high level of cleanliness and comfort. Dedicated Japanese home-design style. Simple but blend in with the natural beauty of Karuizawa.
Review 27:The room is small and a bit old. The triple room is actually a double room with an additional bed, which is weird...still costly.
Review 28:The location is really good. Close to the shopping plaza and the station.
Review 29:breakfast was amongst the worst ever encountered, staff were "robotic" very old hotel with very poor "wooden huts" NO GYM??
Review 30:nature and the vastness of this hotel, proximity to the shopping centre
Review 31:beds are all single size unfortunately ski gear rental price is a bit high
Review 32:walking distance to ski field, and shopping mall, nice and quite cottage, friendly staff 1 hr from Tokyo center
Review 33:It is definitely over-rated. Staying in the cottage was a nightmare. It was old and smelly. My daughter was also scared by a big spider while taking a bath in the bathroom that was even worse than any 1 star hotel. It didn't worth anything.
Review 34:Its quite pricey for a room that was confortable but pretty basic.
Review 35:The location is very convenient. Frequent shuttle to ski area and to station. Walking distance to outlet mall. Comfortable and clean rooms, pleasant staff
Review 36:The Prince hotel group promoted their venues to the detriment to the rest of the town. Shuttle buses were quite full and the ski resort was very crowded on Sunday to the point of the runs being dangerous.
Review 37:convenience of everything. room was nice with a great view. I booked the ski pack ahead and our equipment was waiting for us in a locker so we did not need to wait in the long line for gear.
Review 38:The door should have an internal security latch.
Review 39:I chose to stay in one of the cottages at Karuizawa Prince East. Nice experience intead of the regular hotel stay. The best part was the waking up to the snow scene just at your door step. Will definitely stay here again!! :)
Review 40:We were a party of 4 adults and 3 young kids. We stayed in a cabin for 8. It was the best part of our trip to Tokyo. It just started to snow. So we spent 2 wonderful nights and woke up to beautiful scenery just outside our windows. Our kids enjoyed playing in the snow after breakfast. Staff were very helpful. When my husband was hurt at the ski resort, they helped bring us back to our lodge for our passports and called a taxi to bring us to the clinic. The place was well kept and clean. Definitely planning to be back there.
Review 41:Equipped with Internet, but so unwilling to provide. Hard to imagine it happens in Japan. An English-speaking front desk female staff spares no effort to avoid offering help, though I do not know her name. A rare experience Japan, a nation that is well-known for its courtesy and hospitality.
Review 42:Cottage is spacious. Warm and comfortable on arrival.
Review 43:Little tired looking. Some renovation to the rooms seem needed.
