Reviews for Dormy Inn Premium Namba

Review 1:the staff were incredibly rude, unwilling to provide assistance or provide information, and attempted to charge a late check out fee at 11:01 (check out time is 11:00)

Review 2:the location is decent

Review 3:Link from booking.com site took us to old location and it took 45 minutes of walk +subway to find current one.

Review 4:Loved the Japanese western room. All the style and comfort of Japanese life plus luxury of bed!

Review 5:a bit cramped the rooms

Review 6:The onsen! The good service, they allowed and accomodated our early check in request, help with posting our wifi back and also get a taxi for us

Review 7:Took taxi there and taxi took us to the wrong Dormy Inn! Didn't matter much as the guy gave us directions and we walked to the right one.

Review 8:Staff were polite. Location was good. Found nice bar/restaurant- Brooklyn style - nearby,

Review 9:I am a frequent customer for Dormy Inn chain, but this branch doesnt seem to be at their best. The reason I stay at this hotel is onsen, but (sort of) outdoor onsen water and changing room were not very pleasant. Maybe there were so many guests at that night. Not all staffs were friendly when I asked for shuttle bus time table.

Review 10:Shuttle bus service to Namba station for free in the morning. Dotonbori and Ame-mura are very close. There is a couple of staffs who can speak in Korean. One of them was very helpful when I checked in and my booking was canceled by accident.

Review 11:Lady hot spring area should clean up more frequently especially night time around 9-11pm, there were many hairs left on the floor, sinks and untidy due to many users around that time.

Review 12:There was afalse Fire alarm - with lots of messages in Japanese, but almost no explanation in English. The Chinese, European and American guests gathered in the corridor, mystified about what to do. I suggest you improve your emergency messages in English.

Review 13:We enjoyed being close to Namba and having a bath every evening.

Review 14:nothing

Review 15:The cleanliness and helpfulness of the hotel and staff. The hotel was a wonderful relaxing, comfortable retreat from the hustle and bustle outside. The hotel offered a variety of added extras at not extra cost, i.e. free noodles, coffee machine/tea facilities and a pleasant retreat room not mention the wonderful hot springs

Review 16:not thing

Review 17:Staffs are helpful even the shuttle bus driver who sent us at Namba station on our last day. The breakfast is good and the midnight noodle is great complimentary after late night shopping. The onsen is our favourite facility.

Review 18:Perfect location near all lively attractions and food spots, though very quiet; spotlessly clean, nice amenities, comfortable neds (the only comfy pillows I have found in Japan)

Review 19:it really far from nankai namba station. The free soba is end in 23:00 o'clock.

Review 20:Spa is so nice . Great service . May be if them have soba for customer for late at night it rill be great.

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:Surely will stay here again. Great location just 15 min to Dotomburi and ¥680 by taxi to Shinssibashi subway. Walking 7 min to Nipponbashi subway but due to heavy bag I decided not to stage my bag. Every evening 9-11pm free Soba at Level 2. Also come with a clean well designed Onsen with cold dip pool - excellent.!

Review 23:Staff is not really helpful when u ask them to make table reservations. Houskeeping didn't close the door properly after cleaning. Breakfast is terrible, very limited choices, not worth. Room for 3, only got tatami for extra person, set up need to do by ourselves. Not recommend this room type.

Review 24:I heard that location is "very" good but it was far from Namba station, it took about 15min from Namba station on foot. Some clerk was quite kind, some clerk was unkind, some clerk was not bad - most of them didn't have any special service mind. Dont' expect any special high-quality service like premium hotel.

Review 25:Clean and neat. Room was pretty small but enough for two adults.(All is small in Japan so understandable.)

Review 26:The only thing I'm not satisfy is the warmer in the room not really warm in the mid night. I've been awake because too cold.

Review 27:Best place to stay.after shopping the whole day you can enjoy onsen in the hotel and have a nice free ramen as your supper before go to sleep.

Review 28:The room facing the main street is a bit noisy at night.

Review 29:We enjoy the Onsen, free noodles and drinks. Hotel is near to dotonburi, the most popular shopping area. About 7 mins walk to Kuromom market which you can get fresh seafood and cheap souvenirs . Only a few minutes walk to subway station. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

Review 30:The room was compact- there was just enough room for our luggage in a superior room.

Review 31:The room was very clean and had all the extras you might need. We liked that the sleeping area could be shut off from the bathroom and toilet with a sliding door. The Late Night noodles were also tasty and added novelty value (as did the emergency toilet in the lift). The location was very good and it felt very safe. We would stay here again.

Review 32:Lights for the outdoor onsen was too bright.

Review 33:Good location, walking distance to subway station, Dotombori, Kuromon market etc. Onsen facilities - clean & nice.

Review 34:the switch is too close to the bed wall.. where i always accidentally click on the switch when i sit on the bed.

Review 35:the location is convenient. the room is clean and with air purifier. the service is also excellent.

Review 36:far from train station(walk about 15 minute) not comfortable when we have many Luggages and go to hotel by train.

Review 37:High security, good onsen, near shoping center, many restaurant around hotel, and 24hour supermarket walk by 3 minute, quiet room good sleep, non smoke area is very good.

Review 38:Free shuttle bus to namba station is really good. Spacious and clean room, also prime location. Need to add the location in map so it's easier to find by gps.

Review 39:Unfortunately the rooms are a tad small & can feel cramped as is the case with many urban Japanese hotels. However, the space is used very well & you hardly notice after a while.

Review 40:Within walking distance of the major hotspots in the city (Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi) this hotel is very conveniently located. The staff are very helpful & the rooms well appointed. And who doesn't love a Japanese hot spring being conveniently on site?!

Review 41:The location is perfect specially when you are a tourist as the hotel is just a walking distance to shopping malls and dotonburi and denden town. The place nearby is alive at night is you want to have a gimmick. It's also near nipponbashi station from which you can take a train ride to Kobe and narra. It's a new modern hotel and it's very clean. I love their free noodles at night and free coffee. I also appreciate their free use of laundry machine. Next time we'll be in Osaka, we'll definitely stay here again and we would gladly recommend to our friends!

Review 42:Location is good but don't like the area around the hotel. Room very very small. Kind of disappointed. Does not worth the high score.

Review 43:Not much Free wifi is a plus

Review 44:Walking distance to train station. Only a few blocks to Dotombori for food, drink, entertainment, people-watching. Excellent Japanese Bath open until the wee small hours (actually almost all day).

Review 45:Double bed too small for two even for Asian size.

Review 46:Location near to Namba shopping area. In house Onsen. Helpful staff. Free night ramien supper.

Review 47:Vending machine next door...but that's a minor thing.

Review 48:Close to main attractions....good location but still quite and clean.

Review 49:Lobby

Review 50:Onsen

Review 51:Shower in room remained hair

Review 52:Free bike for borrow

Review 53:Very good located

Review 54:Tiny room....but knew this before i booked

Review 55:Great friendly staff. Location fantastic

Review 56:We appreciate free bike hire - we saw much more if Osaka thanks to this. Loved the room! The charging cables were a nice surprice

Review 57:This hotel is beautiful with fantastic staff. Loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Review 58:Uncomfortable pillow

Review 59:Onsen very nice, great City view

Review 60:Location, room was excellent, good staff

Review 61:I loved the location--right near all the action in Dontunburi. Also, the free noodles and the onsen were a unique and wonderful experience.

Review 62:Pillows too low... Small room.

Review 63:Free noodles for supper.... Nice onsen

Review 64:Location, onsen Staff very ehlpful and with great english Complementary bicycle for guest Laundry facilities

Review 65:Hotel onsen is nice and open almost the day and night.

Review 66:everything

Review 67:Small bed

Review 68:Fantastic staff Great location Onsen Bike for rent available

Review 69:Hot spring, free noodles

Review 70:location is good, but onsen is very crowded.

Review 71:good location good service

Review 72:onsen and free ramen in the evening. Easy access to Shinabashi area

Review 73:Lights in the outdoor onsen is too bright.

Review 74:Good Location Nice Onsen

Review 75:not exactly too flexible with late check out

Review 76:location, amenities, cleaniness

Review 77:Great location right next to Dontonbori St! Good room for the price!

Review 78:sometimes, a lot of people in the hotel

Review 79:onsen, hot springs good location, clean rooms

Review 80:Very nice hotel and good spa

Review 81:The hot spring is very good. And the location is perfect for shopping and food.

Review 82:We like basically everything! Room till the staff are all excellent, it's too good to be true!

Review 83:Rooms were small, hotel felt more for business rather than leisure. Had better value for money at other hotels we stayed at.

Review 84:Very efficient, new clean facilities. Wifi reliable and very fast. Likes free tea and coffee. Onsens nice and not crowded.

Review 85:Excellent location that is mentioned by earlier travelers' opinion is not that good good but is ok for a long walk for nearest subway station and Namba shopping area, also taxi is not available right at the front of the hotel, need to walk a bit and across the street for taxi stand.

Review 86:Hotel room and hot spring bath.

Review 87:I like the hot spring available in the hotel. The room is well designed despite the double bed is the standard queen size. Overall, the hotel is good.

Review 88:Altho close to Dotomburi & Namba area, you'll still need at least 15 mins walk to nearest subway Stn. Got lost finding my way on day 1 but once you're familiarized it's ok. Good that you can still grab a meal late nights.

Review 89:Hot spring bath Free soba meal for supper Free morning shuttle to Namba Stn Free wifi in the room

Review 90:Hard to find, Google maps led us to another hotel which is closed (we were informed many people make the same mistake).

Review 91:The location was great. Good food and shopping options in the neighbourhood.

Review 92:Took a night flight and rch the hotel early in the morning, had request for earlier check in ie. 1 or 2pm, but staff was very strict on check in time at 3pm.

Review 93:No bathtub, just a very small and narrow shower cabin. Heating in the corridor caused half of our room becoming very hot (room was divided in two halves by a separating door). The only way to deal with this was to turn on the AC which is not energy efficient...

Review 94:Located close to Dotonburi street. Public bathhouse included. Relatively cheap and spacious for this area of the city. Price vs quality/facilities was OK.

Review 95:Nothing...

Review 96:Big sized rooms (for Japan), beautifully clean and modern - it only opened in 2014 I think. The free noodles until midnight looked good, though we didn't have them. Breakfast had a really extensive choice of both Japanese and Western options. We loved this hotel!

Review 97:Personnel not flexible and speaks little English, normally not really a problem, unless you have a request. Stayed in this hotel my last day before going home. Asked at check-out in the morning whether I could freshen up and change in the public bath that evening before my flight. Although she didn't really speak English I thought she eventually onderstood my request and agreed. Upon my return that evening another receptionist who spoke better English was "sorry, sorry, sorry, but no such service, only for staying guests". Standing out some more (a colleague agreed, I stayed here for 2 nights, I walked the city the whole day and I have an 18h flight to go) was of no use: sorry, sorry. I'm sorry too that rules are more important than service, quitte an anticlimax to an excellent stay at this hotel...

Review 98:Excellent location near Namba. Metro stations Nagahoribashi en Nipponbashi at walking distance. Relatively new hotel opened in 2013, clean and modern. Relaxing public bath. Good wifi in the room. Breakfast buffet with lots of variation, both western and Japanese.

Review 99:- Price was high, although not higher than competitors for this quality and location. - Check in time was very late to me (15.00) and check out time quite early. This, however, we also encountered in several other accommodations in Japan. Earlier check-in is possible but at a cost.

Review 100:- Location, quite central, quite lively area of Osaka - Breakfast was not included but was of a very high standard and offered much value for the additional price - Very pleasant spa/onsen area - Although room was small, all important facilities, like a safe, a water cooker etc. were present.

Review 101:Staff were not very good in English & there were some miscommunications, especially when it came to assistances to book restaurants.

Review 102:Close location to Doutonbori & Shinsaibashi & the hotel's facility of free onsen & free washing machines.

Review 103:Shower room is quite small.

Review 104:It's close to dotonbori and nippon-bashi station. We enjoy having free shoyu ramen and free onsen every night especially during cold weather.

Review 105:Nothing in particular.

Review 106:Very clean, big rooms. The bathroom is not huge but convenient and well thought of. It has all what you need. Again, very clean and well maintained!!! We also appreciate the free use of the washing machine. It really helped when you are staying in the country for a while. It saves us a lot of money for expensive hotel laundry cost. The buffet breakfast has a lot of choices, though maybe could be improved so people do not see the same things everyday. The location is walking distance to Dotonburi - a food heaven!!! And farther down is the shopping paradise- Shinsaibashi. The hotel is also near a subway station. If we ever go back to Osaka, we would definitely think of Dormy Inn Premium Hotel. We had a wonderful and memorable stay.

Review 107:The staff didn't speak very good English which I was surprised about given that it is a big hotel in a touristy area. Poor knowledge of English is not something I was faced with in other hotels/guest houses around Japan. Despite this I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 108:The room was nicely presented with good facilities. Only a short walk from the Dotombori area.

Review 109:However, the bathtube in the room was really too small. There was no space to place the clothes and towels.

Review 110:The onsen was nice. Staff are friendly. The room size was not big but acceptable as compared with other hotels in Japan.

Review 111:The room is just very small not enough space when you open big luggages.

Review 112:The staff are very accommodating and they went out of their way to provide transportation for us to Otsu Kyoto. The comforter is excellent.

Review 113:I have a package which should be reached hotel during my stay, but was not. Staff help me to contact the sender and find out the reason. They are really helpful and nice!

Review 114:The pillows were really uncomfortable. I had a sore neck every morning. We didn't get a twin room as requested, my friend and i had to share a double.

Review 115:There was a onsen spa in the hotel. The rooms were clean and modern. The staff we extremely helpful, everyday they made us a map of the routes we needed to take. They made us feel very welcome. The location was amazing, we were surrounded by great bars, shops and restaurants. The 7/11 next door is also very convenient.

Review 116:Lobby is too incommodious while there are a lot of guests with luggage there.

Review 117:Hotel provides many extras, namely home clothing, free noodles soup, guest's relax lounge, and tea set in a room. Onsen and sauna are free of charge for hotel's guests.

Review 118:Rooms are on the small side

Review 119:Loved the location, amenities, facilities and the effort they take to ensure cleanliness. They even have plasma cluster ionizers in the room! The free supper ramen is delicious!

Review 120:I got a corner room with poor wifi connection.

Review 121:Very nice new hotel with free onsen. Not far from namba and shinssibashi. Very comfortable bed. I would go back again.

Review 122:Free wifi everywhere. Free ramen/drink serve to hotel guest from 9:00pm. Close to subway station. Close to shopping area. Free washing machine is provided. Hot spring very nice!!

Review 123:nothing, except it's not that easy to book a room there now as its become very popular.

Review 124:The staffs are nice and helpful, hotel facilities are new and clean... really worth the money you paid.
