Review 1：The owner of the hotel Mr.Alexander was very kind, helpful & extremely co-operative. He would insure that every small request of ours was fulfilled. The holiday was an experience of a life time. Cheers!

Review 2：In spite of Hotel Monika's charms, we felt there were several issues with the property. Foremost, the hotel is very far north in the Dolomites, 2.5-3.5 hours from Venice, and 6-7 hours from Milan. There are a few interesting sites in the area, but those traveling near those two cities, or in more central Italy, will find the location quite out of the way. Second, while the room and bathroom were nicely sized in comparison to the other properties we stayed at in Bellagio, Venice, Bergamo, etc., they were small compared to a significantly less expensive, equally gorgeous property we stayed at in Milan. Lastly, we found the dinners to be quite heavy and somewhat lacking in veggies. My traveling companion is lactose intolerant, and it was impossible to avoid dairy at the meals. We might have been able to pre-arrange for lactose free meals when we made the original booking, but when we asked the day of, they were unable to accomodate this request.

Review 3：Hotel Monika is a beautiful property in the Italian Dolomites. The staff is very accomodating and attentive, and the facilities are well put-together and extremely clean. The half-board option, which includes afternoon hors d'oeuvres, breakfast, and a five-course dinner, is a great deal; the food is delicious (dessert pictured) and portions are more than adequate. Additionally, the hotel provides everything you could want in the way of small items to enhance your stay - from slippers and robes for the extensive spa area, to umbrellas and lift tickets so that you can hike around the surrounding mountains, or simply walk about the charming town of Sesto.

Review 4：We booked mountain view room but they gave us the room w/ bacony w/ no view. They finally got us the mountain view room but the room was pretty old, especially the bathroom. Besides that is all ok.

Review 19：From the moment we arrived at Hotel Monika, we knew we had made the right decision. It was perfect in every way. Our welcome was relaxed and inviting and we quickly felt at home. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Having slept comfortably we enjoyed a lovely Breakfast... The fresh fruit was varied & perfect to enjoy, lovely breads & scones, hot food cooked to order. The evening meal was absolutely fantastic after a long days hiking. This family run hotel is a true gem.

Review 20：Hotel Monika is located in the quiet and picturesque Sesto Valley, which I highly recommend for summer hikes. They hotel has everything you could need for lovely hiking vacation, good location, good food, pleasant staff and lots of amenities. There are several seating areas in the front where you could soak up the sun, have a drink or catch up with your reading. Our room was bright, clean, spacious and cheerful. Note that the bath room items were not automatically replaced when you run out (I imagine you have to ask for them to be replaced.) Also, I would suggest that you bring your own shampoo and conditioner as they only provide a squeeze bottle of bath gel (which I found quite difficult to squeeze with one hand.) Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of cheese, breads, fruit, yogurt, a lovely selection of teas and hot dishes such as omlettes. The five course dinners were delicious, but quite large for us, and after the first night, we only took some of the courses. I would suggest you ask for a table near the dining room window to enjoy the view, or else you could end up with a table near the buffet for the duration of your stay. Overall, I think that our enjoyment of Hotel Monika would be have optimized if we spoke German or Italian; if you don't, it is a bit difficult to understand the services/amenities as the hotel literature is only in available in these languages. For example, it was only on our last day that we realized that lunch was also provided; we had been having lunch at the refugios at the end of our hike then returning to the hotel. However, the staff made up English dinner menus for us each night and tried to communicate in English as much as they could which was very kind. They had little 'events' to entertain their guests, drinks and snacks one evening, a piano player the next, a dessert buffet etc.

Review 21：The Hotel Monika is focusing on the relaxation of the guests, and we enjoyed the relaxing days and good variety of local cuisine and healthy themed cuisine. The chief speaks English very well and offered us detail information of sightseeing spots. Sommeliers were professional and very friendly. Our family stayed in 2 rooms; on is on the mountain side room Pinus which had a wonderful view of the mountains and the other is In Style room on the other side which was nicely designed and very comfortable room suitable for a couple. Very good access for cable car stations and also to drive to Tre Cime area and Cima Tofana where we have 360 degree panorama. Excellent place for a couple to enjoy summer holidays.

Review 22：Wasnt wild about the location. It is right in the valley next to a road. If u sat on the sunbeds you were overlooked by the road. On our first night there seemed to be a wild party close by and the music was deafening so we had to sleep with the window shut and it was uncomfortably hot.

Review 23：The hotel has recently been refurbed and the pool is amazing. Nice sauna and steam but as usual it was a no clothing zone! Rooms were excellent. Food was very good. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Review 25：We spent a week in Monika in early July. Everything was perfect. The hotel is situated in very peaceful area between Sesto and Moso. You can easily reach both cable cars (Monte Elmo and Croda Rossa) on foot.Excellent family Tiroler hotel lies in an idyllic and quiet position between large meadows and the Sesto river. From the hotel Monika and most of the rooms you enjoy a view to the Fiscalina valley and at the top of Monte Elmo.The rooms are tastefully designed, unusually spacious, fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The same is true for the swimming pool and sauna area, which are also beautifully designed. All of the staff members are very friendly, while the young and charming hotel manager is extraordinarily helpful and eager to please.The great surprise though was the dinner. We had booked half board. The dinner was a five or six course gourmet dinner of world class. Every course was inventive, fresh and just amazingly delicious.The hotel offers additional services such as Shuttle Bus service, free parking, SPA, Spa Active gym, guided nordic walking tours and other special activities free of charge.With the Three Peaks Card you may use all public buses, trains, and cable cars.The ideal and quiet position of the Hotel Monika, very close to walking, hiking and cycling trails in summer, cable car to the Monte Elmo (just at a few minutes walk from the hotel Monika) .Massive rock formations such as the Cima Nove, Dieci, Undici, Dodici and Uno, renown as the Sesto sun dial, await you! Above this unique mountain sun dial the Cima Tre Scarperi towers. The wonderful val Fiscalina leads up to the rock faces, and is a comfortable entrance to the Nature Park Sextener Dolomiten, the location for hikes and climbs in the Dolomites.The peaks and alpine plateaus can also be reached with cable cars. The Monte Baranci cable cars near San Candido, the Monte Elmo cable cars near Sesto , and the Croda Rossa cable cars near Moso.
