Reviews for Grand Cayman Beach Suites

Review 1:Great location, comfortable (large) room with awesome view. Property restaurant "Hemmingways" was wonderful. Staff was very hepful in making recommendations for off-site activities and dining. Overall great vacation and will definitely be returning in the very near future.

Review 2:Housekeeping was okay and food was average.

Review 3:Staff was awesome. Location great. Room was spacious and we had a great view. Pool bar was awesome especially Eric, Ashley and Nez.

Review 4:We would have liked a little more variety in the morning fruit that was available in the lobby, and additional on-site activities included (optional yoga class seemed overpriced).

Review 5:The two-bedroom suite was very spacious, with all the needed amenities, and the terrace had a fabulous view of the beach and the sunset-- a perfect spot along 7 Mile Beach. It was also very convenient to Red Sail sports for the scuba divers among us. Everyone on the staff (front desk; cleaning crew; restaurant) was incredibly friendly and helpful. Altogether, Grand Cayman Beach Suites provides the advantages of staying in a hotel and renting a condo.

Review 6:Reception personnel were polite but not very smiley or friendly, and seemed a little sullen and disinterested. Room was a bit dated and felt in need of refreshing.

Review 7:Location excellent, although beach area was very crowded.

Review 8:The only thing, they werent clear about the price. When I arrived I realized I had to pay at additional $30 per person to use the resort, plus taxes for rooms, etc.

Review 9:Gorgeous place, Everything is beautiful, Location, the Room, The service, the facilities, its really a top hotel!

Review 10:We had the most fabulous time of our lives. There were 10 of us Grandparents, 2 sons and wives and 4 grandchildren. We swam with dolphins, breakfasted with rays, went to 115 feet in a sub, snorkeled ate in several good resturants and were sorry to have to go home.

Review 11:The pull out couch was aweful. We were basically sleeping on springs.

Review 12:The staff was great. Proximity to shopping and dining was perfect. The beach was amazing.

Review 13:Didn't care for the confusion on the reservation with Booking.com putting us in a French balcony room when our reservation clearly stated walk out balcony.

Review 14:Liked our room, service, location

Review 15:loved location! Beach is perfect and the sea is wonderful! Loved that the hotel wasn't as packed as the major hotels. Very happy with my choice.

Review 16:Excessively Expensive. Between the Cayman dollar exchange rate (which isa hidden tax of 20%), the hotel tax, service fee, and gratuities thatget added to the bill it becomes outrageous. Breakfast buffet is $36 us$per person!... Walk 10 minutes and save yourself $50 every day. To usesnorkel gear is $18 us$ where other resorts give it for free. There areislands and beaches that are a far better value. Once they remove thissham exchange rate the there will be no better place to go.

Review 17:Great staff, great location, food is above average but nothing special,Caribbean night was great. Facilities are nice and location isspectacular.

Review 18:I usually have a couple of constructive points to make but nothing came to mind at all, so great!

Review 19:The staff at all levels were really friendly and most helpful. We had a couple of non-standard requests which they accommodated which really made me feel that they go above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. The suite and facilities were excellent and the location on the beach fantastic. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer!

Review 20:Red Sails operation was occasionally intrusive to beach. Back bedroom near road was noisy.

Review 21:Staff was wonderful from management to housekeeping to wait staff to security. Beach, pool and bar were lively but not overly crowded for a holiday week.

Review 22:Along a busy road, but all the main hotels along Seven Mile Beach are too. Take earplugs if you would be bothered by road noise at night!

Review 23:Wonderful suite of rooms with great bath (and shower overhead). Clean and comfortable with everything you expect from a luxury room. Great restaurant on site and more in other nearby hotels. Lovely beach and you can hire snorkels from the hotel.

Review 24:Can't think of a single complaint.

Review 25:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more. Hemingway's restaurant on premises was outstanding. Beach bar very convenient and bartenders were very accommodating. Amazed at how well I slept here - 2nd floor - quiet and comfortable. Walking distance of many locations on 7 mile beach. We were looking for a relaxing easy beach vacation and we got exactly what we were looking for!

Review 26:Hemingways Restaurant was closed due to remodel. We didn't care for the breakfast buffet. Would've preferred to order a breakfast alacarte.

Review 27:The beachfront was very nice. We also enjoyed the happy hour at the grill.

Review 28:Having to pay for $17.99 per day for wi-if seems petty. Many of the cafés and restaurants across Cayman offer free wi-if so it must be economically viable not to charge for this service.

Review 29:The hotel facilities were excellent, better than we had expected as the property doesn't have a brand affiliation as far as we could tell. All of the staff were friendly and professional. The location is fabulous as the beach is right in front but if you went out to the street you could walk in any direction to many shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back next year for the October mid-term break.

Review 30:The main restaurant, Hemmingways, which I had expected to dine at was closed for renovations.

Review 31:Beautiful pool, lovely room - very spacious, crazy really for a single night but very nice. Right on the beach.

Review 32:Noise Bedroom too hot Price a bit too high

Review 33:Size of room Location of hotel Beach facilities Red Sail Sports Overall confort Speed of ansering requests

Review 34:Wifi policy: 9,99 usd per day or 49,99 usd per week is already quiteexpensive. But being it per device (instead of per room) is justridiculous. Jacuzzi at the pool is just a hot bathtub with some waterblown inside, not a real jacuzzi. Cleaning ladies seem to be bad humoredmost of the time.

Review 35:Rooms are big, beds are comfortable. Pool good enough to refresh or havea drink and very beautiful at night. Beach in front is a paradise withamazing sunsets. Nice, welcoming and helpful staff at reception. Goodlocation, with plenty of good restauants nearby, as well as shops andsupermarket.

Review 36:The hotel staff went above and beyond to give us an incredible vacation experience. The staff at the dive shop on site - Red Sail Sports - was also wonderful!

Review 37:Too many visits from staff for this or that

Review 38:Location mid-7 mile beach; good size suite

Review 39:Excellent location, incredible staff, comfy beach chairs, terrific F&B choices.

Review 40:-

Review 41:Friendly, helpful staff, big size apartmant, beautiful beach and hotel. Famous from the movie The Firm with Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman:)

Review 42:Parking Hot tub didn't work

Review 43:Staff Beach Suite with full balcony

Review 44:Sleeper sofa needed to be replaced.

Review 45:Beach was a bit less busy than other places. Close to several great restaurants.

Review 46:The staff were extremely pleasant

Review 47:The staff was friendly and helpful!

Review 48:Location is perfect.

Review 49:staff and management

Review 50:The pool hours

Review 51:Great location.

Review 52:Small cold pool

Review 53:You could always get a chair.

Review 54:All the extra fees and no wireless internet included

Review 55:Great location, awesome beach, very convenient to good restaurants

Review 56:Liked most everything

Review 57:The water was perfect

Review 58:The beach was absolutely beautiful and not crowded at all. Staff was great and rooms are roomy and clean.

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:Fantastic location Best Beach safe warm sea

Review 61:Front desk staff was fairly unfriendly. Never looked up or said "good morning" or "good evening". Rest of the staff in the facility was very friendly. Small lobby - if you are into the 'large resort' feel this isn't the place for you All the 2 bedroom suites face the side of the building where there is construction , which will probably go on for a couple of more years. Noisy in the morning , but the rooms are pretty well insulated . Still if you are a light sleeper this could be a problem as they start about 7:30 am Breakfast - this was a real problem , we are not big breakfast eaters and the only option they had was a full buffet ( about $22 US /person). The only al acarte option was with room service . We really didn't want to spend $88 for a few bagels so most of the mornings we went off the resort for breakfast ( which was a bit of a pain)or ate in the room. On the day we were leaving they added a continental option to the buffet for about $13/ head so maybe they got the message. Not a lot to do in the evenings at the resort or the island in general - it is a very quiet place

Review 62:We had a two bedroom suite which was great . We have two girls 18 and 21 and this allowed the girls to have their own bathroom and bedroom while we were still able to share a living room area and be together . This was much better than two separate hotel rooms The beach was great . Good location and not too crowded . We walked to some of the larger hotels and they did appear to be much more tightly packed ( although it was not a problem when we went as the island really wasn't busy)

Review 63:Bathroom tends to get clogged easily...

Review 64:We love the one bedroom suite! Large bathtub, 2 sinks in the bathroom, refrigerator, microwave and a kitchen sink all make things more convenient for a family vacation. Our room had a door separating the bathroom from the shower/sink area, which allowed one to use the bathroom while another was taking a shower or brushing his/her teeth. Location is great also - not too far from the airport, close to Camana Bay and the grocery store. Food is wonderful also! We like that fact that it's not a giant hotel. It's a perfect size for us. We really like this place!

Review 65:Took them awhile to fix anything that was not working

Review 66:The view, the beachfront had enough lounge chairs, the fitness center had plenty of equipment, the location was excellent. We loved that there were two pools. Most of the staff were very helpful.

Review 67:Views were not as good as they claim in the description of the rooms.

Review 68:Overall hotel was very pretty, comfortable, beach in front of the hotel was not as crowded as others and staff was nice.

Review 69:Noise levels weren't great - there's a restaurant across the street that plays loud music on Friday/Saturday nights and a bar on the pool patio that would also get loud.

Review 70:Location on seven mile beach is perfect. We had a room with a view of the ocean and sunsets. Hemingways restaurant on site has great fish selection. Maid service for the room was excellent.

Review 71:All the taxes and fee add-ons. Even though they are upfront with the fees they were still excessive.

Review 72:Location, pools, restaurant on premise, size of rooms, on premise watersport rentals

Review 73:Construction of new building next door. Construction noise at 6 am even Sunday. Manager did move us by Thursday but we asked on Tuesday and no one replied back to us as promised. We had to ask again 2 days later we thought that was unacceptable . We had other issues in the first room we stayed, air quality in that room was poor. I developed sinus issues my partner developed had issues with sinus in the morning. I think room has serious HVAC issues felt wet and cold in that room. Those items improved upon being transferred to new room. Mentioned this to Mr Powers manager, he didn't seem to concerned. Maybe but didn't appear to believe me. Also 15 percent gratuity across the island. I don't beleive it is right to be mandatory , not all service was that good. This be big consideration in where we choose to travel in the future. Will pick areas were gratuity is not a monitory tax

Review 74:When we went to check out, they had changed the amount for the last night to double what I had arranged through booking.com After 1.5 hours of not being able to confirm the booking.com rate and we were running late at that point to get to our flight, they finally simply honored the rate but begrudgingly. Let us with a negative when the rest of our trip had been perfect!

Review 75:The lighting in the bedroom needs to be improved as does the shower head. But, the major problem we had was with a party at the restaurant across the street. The bedroom of the apartment faces the street side and the music and DJ's mic were so loud, we would hear everything he said. The music was deafening, and when we wanted to go to bed at 11, it was very annoying. The front desk called the restaurant, but they weren't able to do anything else. It was close to 12:30am before the noise stopped.

Review 76:The rooms were spacious apartments, beautifully decorated, & very clean. The loungers at the beach area and by the pool were very comfortable, and it was very easy to get to the beach from the room since this is a relatively small hotel. The woman at the front desk was so helpful in arranging a car for us to rent for a day and answering all of our questions. Also, having Red Sail Sports at the hotel was very convenient to schedule activities. And, the food at Hemingway's on the property was outstanding.

Review 77:Not their fault but construction next door (make sure you ask for a room away from that) Intermittent wi-fi connection in room (but they did refund the cost)

Review 78:Very large well equipped room. (deluxe one bedroom suite) The staff were helpful. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby.

Review 79:If you don't rent a car, getting around can be challenging. The front desk staff was very helpful with arrangements though. Food was just ok. Grand Cayman in general is extremely expensive.

Review 80:Beach location was great, kids loved it. Room was wonderful, clean, clean, clean!

Review 81:Everything! The room was immaculate, comfortable, and clean. The beach was perfect and never crowded. The location was walking distance to lots of restaurants, grocery store, and shopping. I would highly recommend.

Review 82:Nothing.

Review 83:Staff was wonderful in helping schedule activities, and restaurants. Restaurant and beach staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and stylish.

Review 84:We loved the comfort of the room and the fact that the resort wasn't crowded like the ritz and marriott.

Review 85:Beach is best on 7 mile... nicest approach and best sand with almost no rocks and great snorkeling.

Review 86:Very nice hotel. Good value. I would stay there again.

Review 87:It is a bit tired and I don't like that the room Tate doesn't include the extra 200 bucks per night you are chafed after.

Review 88:Fabulous place! Great vacation!!!

Review 89:Too many families but may have been time of year

Review 90:Loved the size and layout of the rooms

Review 91:Very expensive. Taxes and fees kill you.

Review 92:Staff Shawn and Kenny were very pleasant and hard working. Place was immaculate.
