Reviews for Hotel Italia
Review 1:My room was very cute, but I did not get a proper bed; it was more like a day bed, which was very lovely, but still not a twin bed. It is not what I expected when I booked the room. However, the room was lovely, the bathroom big enough and very clean. Also, the hotel is a little far from the center of town.
Review 2:The staff was super friendly, professional, helpful. The breakfast and breakfast room were lovely and the service there fantastic.
Review 3:The only small inconvinience was a shower system, there is no hand shower, only the big one over your head. But they had bidet, just me personally I don't like to use it, I prefer hand shower.
Review 4:The location is very nice - with a walking distance to all the cites, but we like to walk, so we never take s hotel in the center. Also convinient if you have a car - hotel Italia is out of the old city walls, so called ZTL-zone. The staff was great - first we had a room with a view to the inside garden in the hotel, but we didn't even go to see this room, we asked to have another room at the top floor in the main building and with a great view, and because the hotel was not fool, we managed to have this room. Also we left our luggages at the reception for half of the day - they were safe. Everything that we adked from the stuff to help us was made in a perfect way. Shower gel, soap - are in a very nice pin-up style pack, very positive. Wi-fi was working well. Breakfast is nice, every day the same, but you will not stay hungry. If you ask to make a coffee from the coffee machine in another room - you can have it for free, but we always left tips for this.
Review 5:Convenient location close to train station & not too far from the sites. Very friendly staff, clean comfortable room for a solo traveller & plenty of selection for breakfast. Reliable WiFi. Would stay here again.
Review 6:Bathtub is pretty narrow but water temperature is excellent.
Review 7:Located right at the top of the town escalator from the train station and not far from old town and all the sites. Wonderful friendly staff and a good breakfast with very clean rooms. We had a terrace room on the 4th floor which was especially nice.
Review 8:Only downside was wifi didn't work and it is quite far from the town centre.
Review 9:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, with satellite TV and basics like soap, shampoo, body cream, tea, coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and fresh.
Review 10:Staff always cheerful, and helpful. Ambience and decor pleasing. Room comfortable and decor attractive. Breakfast plentiful and delicious. Location perfect for exploring Siena on foot. (And if you need a laundromat, exceptional one across the road!)
Review 11:Sadly hotel parking was fully booked (only notified of this after we had booked). And roadside parking in Siena is a nightmare. We were ok as the receptionist suggested places to look but it could have been a problem and we had to walk a way to the hotel. We will make hotel parking a condition of booking next time.
Review 12:The very friendly & helpful staff and the close vicinity to the old town (5 minute walk to the old city wall).
Review 13:The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a larger quiet room. Breakfast selection was good (especially the pancake machine!!)
Review 14:I hate twin beds
Review 15:Beautiful room, great location, super breakfast but best of all is the amazing, friendly and fabulous staff. Sending special thanks and fondness for wonderful Francesca, electric Davide, delightful Janneke, adorable Julia and the lovely Elaina. Grazie Mille to you all. Let's not forget the great job the kitchen staff and chambermaids did. Ciao you all! Susan
Review 16:Location to both the city center and the train station was perfect. The hotel is so clean and modern, and the staff was more than helpful and friendly. Room was spacious. Loved this hotel. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 17:Only spent one night to truly explore Siena Hotel is on a busy street, but room was quiet
Review 18:Front desk very helpful Charming hotel with great breakfast and homemade goodies.
Review 19:in breakfast there aren't any vegetable and no boiled eggs the scrambled they put with the bacon so we cant eat that.
Review 20:the stuff were very friendly and helpful the cleanliness the hotel is close to the old city and to the train station ( 10 minutes by leg )
Review 21:Overall the hotel was fine, but the bathroom was rather compact, and I had some problems getting online. Also, I had better coffee at some other places. However, these are all very minor.
Review 22:Excellent location for us as we were traveling by train. There are multiple escalators from the shopping center adjacent to the train station, taking you up Up UP to Porto Camillo which is about 50 m from the hotel. The hotel is just a short walk to the old town of Siena (which was much closer than we expected). The hotel has a small terrace on its 2nd floor; not much of a view (just a roof) but a pleasant place for us to enjoy some wine and a snack of salami and pecorino cheese in the evening. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a great view! Breakfast was very good and had some wonderful homemade cakes and cookies! BTW there is a PAM supermarket right by the train station, which was a great and inexpensive place for me to buy some Siena food souvenirs, as well as wine and evening snacks! The multiple escalators made the trip from the train station to the hotel relatively painless!
Review 23:Can't think of a thing. We will stay again when in Siena
Review 24:Loved this place. Breakfast was great. We had a large balcony but I don't think all rooms have one. Had a elevator. The staf were all great.
Review 25:Parking is tight, but it is OK.
Review 26:A real gem. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast - very fresh and lots of choice. The staff are very helpful and all them have a sense of ownership and pride in the hotel and the good job that they do. It was a real pleasure to stay there.
Review 27:Lovely hotel with nice public rooms near train station and 20 minute walk to Il Campo. Spacious room with king bed, large bathroom and good storage. Nice people at the service desk and good breakfast.
Review 28:The staff were wonderful so friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable with working air con.Hotel is in walking distance of all the must see attractions,we had an excellent time. We would most definitely stay there again. Breakfast was a feast.
Review 29:We liked everything
Review 30:There is nothing to fault with this Hotel. The rooms, the breakfast, the staff are all first class, and it is terrific value for money. It could be argued that it is away from the City Centre, which it is, but it is an easy walk to the centre, and away from the crowds.
Review 31:Did have a problem in that when I came to take my rented car from the space I paid for- there was a good scrape on the passenger side and I hope the car rental agency will not make me pay. Please advise on this issue...
Review 32:Staff was super, breakfast was ample and varied with comfortable seating....room and bath were very clean and well designed!
Review 33:All the members of staff were cheerful and helpful at all times. The room with the bar was a lovely, comfortable space for people to mingle, read or watch TV and the hotel is walking distance to the town centre.
Review 34:Fridge in room not working. Could not give 10 to a hotel without exercise facilities, but everything else was perfect. Even better than expected
Review 35:Convenient location at top of several escalators from bus stop. Friendly attentive staff. Exceptional value for money. Adequate breakfast.
Review 36:Room adequate for two people, Shower stall very small, and not big people!!
Review 37:Access to train station, close to Historic Old town, great staff, very accomodating, Pleasant decor, For us close to laundry!
Review 38:Some Issues with wifi but I'm sure the hotel will sort this as necessary ( may have been a wider problem).
Review 39:Take the series of escalators from inside the station. At top turn right, walk 70 meters and you're there. One of the best located hotels I know... Also just outside of the old town(100meters). Excellent staff and breakfast very good inc their own baked cakes.
Review 40:Couldn´t get them to fix the balcony door lock in 3 days. Finally gave up.
Review 41:The location is good and quiet. The rooms are nice. AC works well. Use of pool at the nearby "sister-hotel" is very useful in the summer !
Review 42:Poor signposting from escalator up from station. They really shd indicate wh way to turn, esp as street name changes
Review 43:The friendliness of the staff, the fact that we got a really quiet room
Review 44:Spotlessly clean, updated and well managed hotel just outside one of the gates to the city. Easy access to the train station. Very friendly staff that make you feel welcome. Relaxed atmosphere. Great value for money...better that we had expected.
Review 45:Nothing
Review 46:The staff are very professional. The lounge and breakfast area are high class. The room was attractive and quiet. You can walk from the escalator for the train.
Review 47:None
Review 48:Brilliant location, easy to get to from train station, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good breakfast and brilliant value for money. Couldn't fault the whole experience.
Review 49:The shower was rather small.
Review 50:During our first night a lightning hit the hotel and caused lift, wifi and TV to stop working. The hotel staff worked very fast to get things up and running again. The next afternoon everything was fine again! A great and very friendly team!
Review 51:The room was over the road near a cross walk that beeped all the time. We wanted to change but they were full
Review 52:Freindly helpful staff. Interesting decor and design.
Review 53:Slow and very slow wifi connection.
Review 54:Very nice and helpful stuff, room and bath is clear. Breakfast ample and good taste. Lot of food to choose. Downtown is c.a 900 m far from hotel. Important advantage is close to railway and bus station.
Review 55:Only one tiny thing. Our room was on floor between the ground floor and first floor, so the elevator didn't stop there. It was a bit uncomfortable to carry our luggage on the stairs.
Review 56:Hotel design is beautiful, clean, staff is very helpful. Comfortable, nice room. Location is close to main sightseeing places, trainstation, busstop to Florence. There are parking places too.
Review 57:The staff were all wonderful; the sort of professional service you'd expect in much more expensive hotels. Great location; a straightforward walk to the centre of Siena. The breakfast was lovely; our son particularly enjoyed the pancake machine (never seen one of these before!). Very happy with our stay.
Review 58:The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was a perfect size for a solo traveller and the bathroom was very spacious. Breakfasts were excellent and it was only a 15/20 minute walk to the historic centre. Very convenient for the station a 2 min walk to the escalators that take you there. Would highly recommend.
Review 59:Air conditioning is not controlled in the room, it tends to be warm during the day and early night and actually cooling after 3 AM or so.
Review 60:Front desk and breakfast staff were very professional and attentive to customer needs,
Review 61:Great location near the escalators from the station and walking distance to the gates of the old city and most of the city. This is my second visit and I would stay there again on my next trip to Siena
Review 62:Nothing, we were impressed all around!
Review 63:breakfast was amazing. The hotel was very modern, clean and professional. A breath of fresh air after so many bnbs for the same price!
Review 64:distance to de Campo. Algae in pool at Hotel Garden, sister property. Service for lunch at Hotel Garden was very average.
Review 65:Breakfast was very good! very nice room!
Review 66:Had some trouble with wifi in the rooms, but understandable given the age of the building and thickness of the walls.
Review 67:Awesome experience, staff are so friendly and helpful. Hotel is beautiful and rooms were spacious and elegant. Had a wonderful week there and would recommend this lovely hotel to anyone.
Review 68:I didn't realise when booking that the 3rd night, because it was a Friday, was more than 30 euros on top of the rate shown on booking.com
Review 69:Convenient location close to the station, good breakfast, helpful staff & swimming pool available at nearby partner hotel.
Review 70:Nothing really bad to say about my stay, maybe the WiFi in the rooms is really bad.
Review 71:The location is good if you are visiting the city with car (easy to park) and 20min walking from the main touristic places. Everything in general was good.
Review 72:They changed all the bed-linen and the towels every day - not always necessary.
Review 73:Very friendly staff at reception and at breakfast. Situated close to the old town. Easy access to the railway station via the escalator. Plenty of choice at the breakfast. A neat laundromat opposite.
Review 74:The air conditioning does not work, it makes loud noises all night and you will not be able to sleep in the Italian heat. We called the front desk to fix it or switch rooms but they refuse to do anything. Also the breakfast is super processed and full of chemical taste.
Review 75:The staff were great! Very helpful and acommodating. The walk to the pool was a little long but enjoyable once there. Breakfast was great with a wide selection of food. Will return and stay again:))))
Review 76:On their website it says they have a vegan corner at the breakfast buffet. There was a sign saying that vegan items were labelled but there was acutally nothing labelled at all.
Review 77:After asking the staff we were brought soy-cappuccino, cornflakes, soymilk, vegan "salami". Plus there were lots of fruits. So breakfast was good! The staff was overall very friendly.
Review 78:Nothing really, except the need to regularly log into the Internet.
Review 79:This hotel is ideally located being close to the city entrance and an easy walk from the train station escalators. It provides all the comforts needed in a clean and friendly environment.
Review 80:Only downside was the pedestrian crossing light's constant beep just in front of our room; the window did not block it entirely and in the morning was a bit annoying.
Review 81:Great staff, they bring this hotel to a new level! Front desk staff catered for all our needs: booked an appointment with hairdressers, booked cabs, were kind with our awaking for breakfast and checking out late, were giving us directions and more. Room was impeccable, much better than any 3* hotel we have ever booked and better than most 4*. Bed was comfy and wide, same as the child's, linens changed daily and room setting maintained even after clean up. Location is 20 minutes vigorously walking from centre of town. Overall a good experience.
Review 82:Nothing expect the wifi wasn't too strung in our room.
Review 83:Evrerything, front desk ladies were amazing, the staff so helpful, location was perfectly close to train station and a short walk to the walled town. Would stay here again!
Review 84:This hotel is an interesting mix of classic and modern and a really pleasant place to stay. The hotel is very convenient for the train station. Not too far from the old center either and most of the walk to the duomo/piazza area is down an old street within the centro storico. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast, even a pancake machine.
Review 85:The room I had was very cramped hardly enough space for two suitcases.
Review 86:The hotel is well situated and close to public transport. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, rooms are clean and bathroom is a good size. Breakfast buffet was very good.
Review 87:20 minute walk from city center. Considering the overall amenities of hotel, small "price" to pay for long walk from city center.
Review 88:Big and clean room, comfortable bed, helpful staff.
Review 89:Hotel clearly geared towards those traveling with out children. Nice enough staff and adequate enough food; but the room we were put in as a family was not within the main building. Did not feel as secure as you had to enter it around the side of the main building with in a crammed parking lot. Exterior building door to our unit was not locked. Building is on very busy street. We were awakened before 8 am by workers hammering out side. Windows were not secured adequately to frame so that the many cars and buses passing by in the early hours caused a lot of shaking and noise within the room.
Review 90:Friendly staff. Gave us good directions to the center of tow. Reliable WiFi service. Clean room and nice bathroom. Close to train station which was good for us because we were only there on night. Fresh fruit with breakfast but no fresh cappuccino.
Review 91:Excellent location, just steps from the Cathedral. Very central to everything there is to see. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen, excellent A/C. Fantastic!
Review 92:I was given a room with a view of a wall 4 feet away from the window ... It was very sad and it made me sad.
Review 93:I loved the staff!!! Very kind and available.
Review 94:The annex has no lift. Ask for a room in the main building . It is at least 20 minutes walk from the entrance to the old town
Review 95:The staff were so welcoming. Good value. Our room had a large balcony.
Review 96:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location and clean and beautiful rooms. Breakfast was really good as well with fresh vegetables and yummy waffles.
Review 97:Very nice, bright hotel, lovely bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. (Especially Davide). Close to the escalators (if you come by train) and the old town gate. We stayed in an executive double room in the newer part of the hotel and found it spacious (for Italy). It looked recently decorated. All in all a very nice stay.
Review 98:The staff here is unbelievable. They had cookies in our room to help us celebrate our anniversary. They switched our room the next day so that we could have a room with a standup shower. They were very friendly and helpful all around!
Review 99:The bed was very firm, not what I like. A bit of a walk to the centre of town, as it's located just outside the old town. But minor negatives.
Review 100:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, and decor. Great price and I even got an upgrade. Close to the train station.
Review 101:Breakfast room gets really crowded around 9 o'clock
Review 102:Good location right outside city walls and close to the train station. Good breakfast buffet and helpful staff
Review 103:The hotel was great and very clean. I really like the courtesy of the staff. Everybody was smiling and ready to help to make your staying as comfortable as possible. Also, I love the location since it was just 7 minutes (on foot) away from the UNISTRASI and 20 minutes (on foot) to downtown. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Review 104:The only small problem is the WIFI which seemed to disconnect an awful lot, which led to me having to annoy the hotel staff for new codes.
Review 105:Staff and facilities were simply excellent. Location is very nice - its probably even better because it is located outside shortly outside of the immediate center. I got a free upgrade as i requested a bath tub in my room. My original booking was for a standard room which did not include a tub, but this was no problem at all.
Review 106:2 rooms booked at the same time, the single was more expensive than the double (double occupancy). I think its a Booking.com issue rather than the hotel's though
Review 107:Friendly helpful staff, nice public areas, good parking
Review 108:Wi-fi was a little spotty, but that's really it.
Review 109:Fantastic breakfast, kind and helpful staff, and a great room! Right next to the train station and a short walk to the center of town.
Review 110:Perhaps on the hotel website can provide clearer instruction of how to get to the hotel from the train station
Review 111:Appreciate the helpful and friendly staff, especially Davide.
Review 112:Staff were friendly, and do helpful when information was needed. The breakfast was amazing As was the location. A fantastic location for those not using their own car. Closev to train /bus station and just a stroll away from the historic centre of Siena. Traffic noise at night and early morning was noticeable, however this is an in the centre of a busy area and its locstion more than compensates for that. Great stay.
Review 113:The wifi sometimes wasn't working, but other than that, everything was perfect!
Review 114:This hotel was incredibly clean and comfortable. I almost didn't want to leave to go explore the town! The hotel staff was incredibly friendly upon my arrival, and they provided me with the wifi code and a map of the town without me even having to ask. I was upgraded with no additional cost, and I was incredibly pleased with the room. The breakfast was delicious as well! It's a close walk to the train station in Siena. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
Review 115:Only that wifi kept going off and having to reinsert code
Review 116:Staff.very very helpful..quiet but convenient location...breakfast ..excellent...access to swimming pool, bed and linen...sky tv( internstional channels)(not common in 3 star). Value for money excellent......
Review 117:Wifi dropped out a lot and was difficult to log on to.
Review 118:Awesome place to stay very friendly helpful staff walking distance from train station via escalators, short walk to entrance to old city walls
Review 119:Siena was everything we hoped for and although we missed The Palio we did see one of the trials which gave us one of our most memorable ever experiences. Never been part of an atmosphere like that before. And Siena itself is exquisite
Review 120:Bathroom floor when wet can be very slippy
Review 121:Bed comfortable, hotel very clean, staff friendly, convienent to train station & a nice 20 mins walk to centre of Siena
Review 122:Nothing to dislike
Review 123:Perfect position for us to get a round right near escalators from the train station ( no hill to climb ,staff went that extra mile to help you breakfast was very good ,
Review 124:1. There are a number of flights of escalators connecting the train station and the street where the hotel is situated. However, the second last one did not work that day (did not see anybody around getting it repaired). This was really a big challenge to us, having to carry heavy luggages up the stairs. While this was not fault of the hotel, maybe it could help pushing the concerned party to repair the escalator ASAP. 2. The air-conditioner of our room was "hidden" under the window and behind the curtains. It was just a waste of energy, as the room temperature could not be cooled down even with it being turned on. The one in our friends' room was placed "smartly", so no problem with them. 3. During bathing, water exuded from the bath cubicle......not uncommon.
Review 125:Very nice and cheerful staff Clean and bright bathroom Close to bus stop and train station
Review 126:It was a significant walk to the center of town - a little further than we expected.
Review 127:Everything about the room was comfortable - it was the best bed we slept on during our month long trip. They have a nice breakfast room with a good variety of quality foods.
Review 128:We had our room facing the front of the hotel and which there is a traffic light in front of it,which may have some noisy when its red night, other than that good price with value.
Review 129:This hotel is located outside the old town area with parking which you need to reserved at the time of booking. You need to pay 10Euro extra per day. Overall the hotel is nice and clean. We had a executive triple room and is quite big in size. It took around 20mins walk to Piazza del Campo. The bathroom shower room is quite huge with powerful shower head.
The Fine Print
Please note the on-site parking lot is for an extra fee and subject to availability.
