Reviews for Hotel La Piazza
Review 1:I posted a review of Hotel La Piazza on 6th August 2014 (Anonymous) and could not wait to return! I spent another week at Hotel La Piazza in July 2015 and loved it even more the second time! The gardens are beautiful with exotic and abundant flowers and greenery. The rooms are spacious and arranged in such a way that you always feel as if you have lots of extra private space. The views from the restaurant are wonderful. The light changes over the sea throughout the day ; in the evening, candle light adds glamour and romance. The pool is a fantastic place to relax and again has fabulous views. The staff are excellent - so warm and genuine as well as professional and efficient. The port, cafes and restaurants, public beaches and mountain are but minutes away and yet Hotel La Piazza has a lovely secluded feeling too. It is a gorgeous place to stay, a wonderful place to meet people, and a perfect base for a holiday on Panarea. Hotel La Piazza is romantic, fun, unforgettable. The Aeolian Islands, Panarea and Hotel La Piazza are exceptional in every way and, once again, I cannot wait to return!
Review 2:we loved everything about La Piazza and would definitely stay there again. we also went out on a boat trip with Giovanni to visit all the coves around the island - definitely worth doing, lots of fun.
Review 3:First room was small and poky, barely big enough for twin beds. Hotel is in the slightly old fashioned style that can be described as 4 star only in Italy.
Review 4:Our second room (after we moved) was much nicer, with a lovely sea view. Food in the restaurant was good, if a little pricey compared to nearby non-hotel dining.
Review 5:Wifi was sometimes not working well ( different password for different areas in hotel)depending on location. It would be good to have some happy hour or similar initiatives organized by the pool at the end of the day. Better to have the beach towels straight down by the pool not upstairs at reception. A few more sun umbrellas around the pool would be good
Review 6:Beautiful authentic location unpretentious but at the same time charming and very special magical, real Italian experience. Staff all very friendly helpful and service oriented. The rooms with a view on the sea and the small balcony were simple but beautiful and characteristic. A small oasis close to everything on the beautiful small island of Panarea.
Review 7:Bit overpriced. No Wi-Fi in ROOM. Toiletries are average. Breakfast could be better.
Review 8:Swimming pool with amazing view. Quiet room (except when they organise private parties around the pool). Staff very friendly.
Review 9:They had no high chairs for little people (2 years or younger). That made it hard to enjoy meals. The pool had a very small shelf that was shallow so not great for little ones either.
Review 10:The pool was lovely as was the dining area. The property is beautiful and nicely located within town. The staff was very accommodating of our little one which was wonderful.
Review 11:We booked a double with a single bed but the bed was made up of two unconfortable single bed matresses. The pillows were also not up to the hotel standard.
Review 12:The location is beatiful. The swimming pool a major feature in Panarea where access to the sea is not straightforward.
Review 13:The room was rather dated and the shower cubicle was minute...however, the view from the balcony way makes up for this. People with limited mobility may have problems getting in and out of the pool as there is no easy access and the shallow end is still very deep.
Review 14:Amazing views and the peace of the place! It was terribly quiet with only the noise of the occasional hydrofoil passing by and the gardens around the hotel are beautiful. The view from our verandah was stunning and the pool was wonderful. The breakfast is incredible, quite the best of a 3 week holiday in Sicily and Panarea. Beautiful fresh cakes and pastries are baked every morning with delicious fresh coffee and the chef will make omlettes to order. We loved it here and will definitely return, but not in high season as I get the impression it would be manic. The location of this hotel could not be bettered and having taken a look at all the others in the town I think we made the right choice. We rented a boat for a day for 50 euros from Marco in the harbour and it was an absolute highlight of our trip...a must!
Review 15:Not much going on and not as interesting as Stromboli
Review 16:Our room had a nicely shaded terrace overlooking the sea. Restaurant/bar area also has a fabulous outlook
Review 17:I have booked a room with the sea view.when the staff showed me the room, I did not like it since the trees were blocking my view.helpful staff immediately found a solution.they moved me to Villa Lydia which is very close. The views from Villa Lydia is breathtaking.it has its own private beach.you can chill in the big terrace and meditate, fall in love with the sunrise over and over again.at night you can listen to the sound of the sea... If you are solo traveler, you can go to an inner journey, if you are a couple this can be a very romantic holiday. in addition to all this pluses, the staff is very friendly.just learn some basic Italian and your holiday will be more fun. highly recommended, will come back again.
Review 18:- Very limited choice and variation in (lunch) menu (the same warm dish during 4 days, although it tasted very well). This will probably be different in high(er) season
Review 19:- View from the hotel (in particular from the pool) - Tranquility (at least in May) - The Island
Review 20:Everything- we went to panarea to trace family history. The owners and staff did everything to help us find our ancestral home and local cemetery . Our bags were lost in transit and they stayed in contact with airline until our bags were recovered.fantastic thank you Lydia and staff
Review 21:The view is amazing. Great pool. Our room was small but perfect. We could sit outside and gaze off into the horizon. The staff and the owner were very kind. The hotel is off the beaten path, but perfectly located.
Review 22:The hotel, with the owners present felt like visiting a family, the pool with sea water was great. No hyper design, all nice and homey. Will go back again!
Review 23:Panarea might not be the ideal island for island hopping as the boat options are very limited for other islands
Review 24:The hotel is located perfectly. Complimentary golf cart shuttle is really nice. The beach, the pool give you a very relaxing mindset.
Review 25:It does get dark at night and not all areas of the hotel are properly lit. There isn't always someone available at the reception desk.
Review 26:The hotel is an attractive building with its own restaurant overlooking the sea and seawater pool. It's located near the ferry port up a couple of flights of stairs. The room was clean, had air conditioning and was comfortable, with a terrace area and seats outside the room.
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:A lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens overlooking the sea. The staff very obliging. Wonderful breakfasts and the whole place exuded an air of peace and tranquillity.
Review 29:I having negative to say about the whole stay!
Review 30:From the pick up at the ferry to the morning we left everything was perfect! The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful! the room was great! the view from the balcony was spectacular! The pool was perfect for cooling off during the hot days. I would highly recommend a visit and will certainly be back!
Review 31:The shower cubicle is a bit small.
Review 32:Beautiful positioned hotel with a very friendly and helpfull staf. We had a room with great seaview, a nice terrace and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good with delicious coffee and much choice for bread and cakes and much more. They serve also a delicious lunch made of fresh ingredients. One night the hotel organised a boat trip to Stromboli, which was really fabulous. What we also liked very much is the pool filled with seawater. It was a real pleasure to swim in this great pool. We will certainly come back to Panarea and La Piazza.
Review 33:.... the room. In the bed you felt every spring in the mattress, I've never saw such a small shower and bathroom. WiFi only in the breakfast area, I dont understand why.
Review 34:The location is really good, the hotel has his own little beach, the presonal and the director are very helpful in everything, thanks again. Very good breakfast and very clean and quite, BUT.....
Review 35:We found the bed somewhat hard and uncomfortable, and could barely fit in the super small shower but we made do and our stay was still enjoyable.
Review 36:We enjoyed the location of the hotel, the friendly and helpful staff, the pool and breakfast at the terrace. We were recommended the boat ride with Franco and had the most amazing day out travelling around Panarea and the neighbouring islands - worth every euro. We were also a day late as the hydrofoils could not travel the day we were to check in - the hotel graciously did not charge us that night and communicated with us until we were able to arrive.
Review 37:I couldn't agree more with the review by "Kathleen - Italy". I stayed at La Piazza for a week in early July and loved my spacious terrace and sea-view, the pool and the private beach. You can decide whether you want to bask in the sun or seek some shade, enjoy the air or somewhere a little more intimate. The staff are extremely courteous and professional, and incredibly kind and attentive - a real bonus when you are travelling alone. The hotel itself is very peaceful and leafy but you're just moments away from the "action"! I particularly liked having an aperitif in the bar before going out in the evening. The massages are to die for! All in all, if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy Panarea's many delights, La Piazza has it all! I very much hope to stay there again.
Review 38:Nothing to dislike
Review 39:Our room had a stunning sea view over the bay which was filled with luxury yachts during our stay. Hotel is ideally placed in the village / island a short stroll from the harbour and restaraunts but still in a quite location.
Review 40:This hotel has very helpful, polite staff that helps create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The setting has a breathtaking view, although the rooms are a little dated. I would highly recommend this hotel, for a thoroughly relaxing stay
Review 41:It's a tiny island, but the position of this hotel is perfect. A small walk takes you to the port, the boutiques and the restaurants. It is quiet , peaceful and tranquil. Immaculate in every way. The staff are professional and first class, which in Sicily is hard to find, even at what are considered better hotels. In the morning you can look out of your room and see the amazing yachts, and boats, which have moored over night. Each room has its own terrace which is delightful. The rooms themselves are quite basic, but fully functional. We stayed in a sea view room on the ground floor. Excellent breakfast. The pool is great. The fact that it is filled each day from the sea, an added bonus, as I don't like chlorine. We enjoyed lunch each day here, where the service and food were perfect. I can not speak more highly of this hotel. We only stayed for 2 days, as we were leaving for Salina, but I would have preferred to stay here instead. Frankly I have visited most of the Aeolian Islands and Panarea is my favourite. I look forward to visiting again, and would definitely stay here again. I can also recommend the restaurant which is next door as such, but is also part of this hotel. I have eaten here before, and it was memorable then, and still is. Excellent fresh fish. The staff were polite and professional. Excellent service all round. This restaurant is a compliment to the hotel and definitely worth a visit. You can also enjoy watching the volcano erupting every few minutes, whilst sat on the terrace of this establishment , which is across on the other side from the restaurant. I plan to visit again in September and shall book this hotel.
Review 42:The setting with sea view was fantastic, from restaurant, pool, and room terrace. The breakfast was lovely served by a very gracious woman.

Review 56:Fabulous!!!!
Review 57:The Location is fantastic. A room with a view is a MUST. The Staff is marvellous. The Pool is a great option for those days the sea is too cold or too strong. I was here in days with stormy weather. Lydia is a fantastic Hostess, Riccardo's natural kindness and super powers to prepare your coffee or a drink, Giacomo, Antonio, Nina, La Signora Teresa and Fabio,. They do anything to make you feel at home and this is priceless
Review 58:Location is one of a kind. At our arrival and departure we where brought with a golf cart of the hotel. The serene atmosphere of the hotel and Panarea. We where allowed to use our room at the the day of departure till afternoon.
Review 59:The WiFi signal was bad in the room. The shower pressure was weak and there were not enough hot water.
Review 60:The view from the balcony. The breakfast was pretty good.
Review 61:Nothing - except pricey drinks, same for all Panarea
Review 62:beautiful setting by the seaside, very pretty white villa rooms, flowers and greenery. Nice pool with sunbeds and outdoor sitting areas. Good breakfast, friendly staff.
Review 63:Room a little dated but didn't matter as view from balcony and everything else was so good
Review 64:Fantastic location, 3 minute walk from the ferry, great breakfast, excellent staff who recommend the best boat trips and restaurants
Review 65:The hotel owner has a mad dog, which barks most of the time very loudly. The spa/wellness center was closed during entire May 2014.
Review 66:Great location! Very friendly staff!
Review 67:We stayed at Hotel La Piazza for five nights in September 2013 and had a wonderful time. The pool area is excellent and the access to the sea likewise. We can highly recommend the hotel.
Review 68:Sport activities are poor, a gym would be a great idea!
Review 69:The location is fantastic! I appreciated the ospitality of the staff and their availability! If I would ever come back to Panarea I will come back to the same place for sure!
Review 70:Breakfast was OK but some extra's (fruit, eggs, etc.) would have been welcome.
Review 71:The hotel is very well located near tot the harbour, and with nice views. Rooms very comfortable. Free WIFI of very high speed (but only in the lounge, not in the rooms). Very professional staff. Nice swimming pool (with seawater). We had a very good stay, probably the best one of our journey in Sicily. Very correct price / quality.
