Reviews for Colonna Pevero Hotel

Review 1:Restaurant overpriced and only two restaurants in walking distance as alternatives. Hotel beach small and not as pretty as other Sardinian beaches, beds too close together

Review 2:Helpful and polite staff Lovely views from a lovely hotel

Review 3:Mattresses on beds were very hard. Lunch and evening meals were excessively expensive Gym equipment was basic and not in a dedicated room. No filter coffee served at breakfast, only expresso based coffee drinks. No ironing facilities allowed in the bedrooms due to Health and Safety.

Review 4:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Range of food at breakfast and lunch was exceptional.

Review 5:- quality of food , breakfast as well as dinner - behaviour of staff in general - no five star service in general and way too expensive according to service

Review 6:Access to the beach, marvelous architecture Pool assistance Maitre d'hotel

Review 7:The food was very expensive and not a lot of choice. We were expecting at least some traditional Italian food, which was a disappointment. Luckily we found a nearby restaurant, otherwise we would have gone hungry. There is hardly 5 swimming pools, the photo's were very deceptive. One largish pool with very small interconnecting pools. Sun loungers were taken by the obligatory towel and the staff did not do anything about this, so there was often no room by the pool for all 4 of us. Pool was also colder than the sea. Spent every day on the beach and we were continually pestered by people selling wares on the beach, who came into the private area every time the "lifeguard" was off duty.

Review 8:Beautiful setting, peaceful, lovely waterfalls and the staff were polite and really helpful. A free room upgrade was much appreciated.

Review 9:The hotel describes itself as a five star luxury hotel. Although good, and by Porto Cervo standards perhaps value for money it is misleading to rank it among the best hotels. 5 star it definitely isn't. The rooms are very spartan and very small, lacking any of the touches which might be expected of a 5 star offering, no tea or coffee facilities and a 5 EU charge for a bottle of small mineral water which, when you are paying over £350 a night off peak,! ought to be supplied without charge. The advertising is misleading in that there is only one functioning bar, which we were told is always the case, and that the 1st floor piano bar with the nice views of the sea is only hired out for special occasions. There is no entertainment - the piano's stayed silent. throughout our 8 day holiday and the Hotel's signature restaurant Zafferanos is closed in low season. The remaining restaurant Terrazzo has zero ambiance. The lunch time buffet offering is not only expensive but of very poor quality and the only alternative is the beach bar on the Grand Pevero beach. It is such a shame, that for the sake of a little generosity, and a little ingenuity, this hotel could so easily have matched up to its 5 star billing. Our disappointment in the hotel's infrastructure was only redeemed by the excellent service and attentiveness of the staff

Review 10:The staff at the hotel were excellent, They made all the difference to our enjoyment of our stay, From the waiting staff in the bar whose smile and courtesy were outstanding to the restaurant staff , I would like to particularly commend Allessio, Julia and Raimondo. The concierge Paulo was very knowledgeable and ensured he booked us the best tables in surrounding restaurants and his advice was excellent. The hotel has a lovely arrangement of 5 swimming pools, so that the early birds can pick a secluded spot and feel that they have a degree of privacy around their "own" pool rather than being ranged like sardines around the main pool, but you had to get up early to get a spot as most quests " bagsy" a sun bed and then disappear back to bed appearing several hours later.

Review 11:Do not advertize anymore the hotel with private beach!!! The beach is pretty far, there is no clear indication where it is, it is pretty ugly, without any organization. The only entertainment is that there is a continuous passage of "vu cumpra"!

Review 12:The system of swimming pool is pleasant even if should be advertized as just one swimming pool, the others are minimal.

Review 13:Very exepensive if you have lunch and dinner in the hotel. Lunch is great (buffet) but dinner so so. Also rooms are good just for 2 people but with additional cot bed , it becomes pretty tight.

Review 14:Excellent location and service. With small baby restaurants were very flexible to prepare special food and service was great.

Review 15:Friendly staff , receptionists, also in Restaurant, also in pool and beach . Very nice people . Great pool area, private pools and a lot of green around pools. Beach is small and crowded but it's normal for this area , but water in the sea is so nice for swimming that you do not notice some beach disadvantages. Rooms small but clean and you don't stay in the rooms at all anyway, except for the night. You feel good in this hotel though it's not luxurious one!

Review 16:Gym is in an outdoors area, can get pretty hot. Would have liked a gym in an air conditioned room

Review 17:The property is a classy Mediterranean style resort in a secluded oasis, yet steps from the private beach. Staff is extremely professional. Restaurants are excellent, the whole experience was flawless.

Review 18:The only minor issue is the unusually loud cleaning staff in the morning who are banging doors in hallway and other rooms while cleaning.

Review 19:Great location, close to Porto Cervo. Amazing swimming pools! Excellent breakfast buffet. Great restaurant.

Review 20:Breakfast staff were rude and not attentive Rooms were small 2 single beds as a double is uncomfortable and not first class Air conditioning was unreliable and went off without prompt

Review 21:Location and pool facilities

Review 22:Very poor price/performance ratio, rooms are small and batch is tiny

Review 23:Quite poore refreshment out of official restaurant openning hours.

Review 24:Client oriented staff, excellent breakfast, proximity of a privat hotel beach.

Review 25:Everything was perfect, beautiful room, excellent food, swimming pools, amenities at all. Nice stuff and good service.

Review 26:Nothing at all.

Review 27:The staff, location and particularly the pool area

Review 28:-Excellent location near porto cervo center -The Staff were very friendly -Room service is excellent *Try the burger

Review 29:Amazing staff amazing setting

Review 30:Beautiful location, relaxing, very friendly and helpful staff. very good restaurant.

Review 31:Great service, perfect location!

Review 32:The beach close to the hotel is not as beautiful as the others in the island. But the hotel offers some services and confort at this beach.

Review 33:We have been to the hotel for our honeymoon and everything was great!! Everyone in the hotel was very kind with us, the swiming pools are amaizing and very relaxing. Even if the hotel is full, you can almost have your own pool to stay with privacy with your husband or wife. I strongly reccomend for honeymooners!!

Review 34:sometimes we can't firnd sun-beds near the pool in shadow. Free shutle only in 16-00 till Poto Cervo, I whish go in 19-00 or 20-00 or 21-00. In the evening time was boring.

Review 35:Not too much people, so quite. Clean pools. I like a free shutlle till Porto Chervo, bit the time in not convenient for us, espesially afternoon.

Review 36:Rooms were not clean. There were hairs in the bathroom floor. We have warned the staff but nothing has changed. Takes some time to go to the beach.

Review 37:Good location. Very silent. Good service.

Review 38:Price it cost eur 16 for a fresh juice and eur 7 for a bottle of water! We travelled in to Porto Cervo one night by cab it is literally down theroad but cost eur 20 in a cab.

Review 39:Room was nice and clean and staff were very nice

Review 40:The constant tinned muzak over the speakers all over the hotel gives ita bit of a tacky lift/mall/super-market feel. Totally unnecessary. The price of any alcohol (beer, wine etc) was exorbitant at this hotel, at least 250% of the same charged at other nearby places. This was a major source of disatisfaction for us and means we would not choose this hotel again. The isolated position of Porto Pevero also meant that it was difficult to get anywhere without a car and taxis are very costly. About 2 Euros per minute of travel, even London cabbies would regard this as over-inflated.

Review 41:Beautiful grounds including cascading swimming pools, quiet and wellsituated overlooking the bay. Excellent food. Surrounded by many nearbytracks over interesting landscapes for pleasant treks.

Review 42:Situated in a valley, with beautiful gardens, 5 pools running waterthrough them, lounge music everywhere making a calm and relaxingholidays. Service is very professional, and the hotel manager was alwaysaround to help and make our stay pleasant.

Review 43:Found everything rather expensive. Not just in the hotel but in Sardinia full stop!

Review 44:Extremely good, friendly service.

Review 45:The beach near the hotel is not the most beautiful in Sardinia.

Review 46:Helpful staff, good restaurant, nice design, beautiful swimming-pool.

Review 47:- restaurant staff were great - reception staff were very helpful - breakfast and lunch - pool side
