Reviews for Albergo Chiusarelli
Review 1:The steps to the third floor were difficult to manage with large suitcases. There was a strong smell of cigar and cigarette smoke in the hallway and entrance.
Review 2:The location and the breakfast were great. The parking nearby was very convenient.
Review 3:We observed one staff member being quite abrupt on two occasions with other tourists.
Review 4:The hotel is delightfully decorated which gives it a very pleasant ambiance. A generous breakfast with lots of choice is provided. The level of cleanliness is very high.
Review 5:A lot of stairs, no elevator: a problem when you have heavy luggage. TV was not working.
Review 6:Good location, great breakfast, very clean and confortable room.
Review 7:- Room is a bit antique. - Stairs to room (need effort if you bring big luggages).
Review 8:- Very close to bus station. We arived from Florence by bus and depart to Rome by bus. - Location is just by the main road. - Restaurant (according to review) is good. We didn't have time to taste it, we only checked the price and it is lower than other reataurants nearby (as hotel guest, 10% discount). - Receptionist helped us to bring one of our big luggages to room.
Review 9:The location less than 100 m outside the city center was perfect. Easily accessible and everything within 5-10 minutes walking distance. The hotel itself was nice and the staff polite and helpful. The room had a close up view of the AC Siena stadion
Review 10:Third time I`ve stayed here. Convenient location near the bus station, hotel is located in a former mansion of some sort, very nice. Breakfast was good, and one of only three hotels that I stayed in this trip that has a computer for guest usage, at no extra charge.
Review 11:Location couldn't be better, close to the Old Centre. Can drive to, and park near Hotel without entering ZTL. Breakfast was fantastic....plenty of options!
Review 12:It is a very beautiful hotel spotlessly clean and attractive with friendly staff and is in a perfect location near the bus station and near the maze of winding streets 15 minutes walk from the central square in Siena.
Review 13:Our room was by the side of the street and the stairs so it was noisy when someone was walking up or cars passing by. Not soundproof room
Review 14:The hotel is well located. 2 min from the center. Very good breakfast with many options. We liked it very much. Good value for money.
Review 15:Truly a visit to Siena during the days of the Grand Tour. Be sure to get a room with a full length tub; the hot soak is exquisite. Solid hotel with solid value. Beautifully frescoed classic hotel with superior maintenance. Delightful patio. Don't miss the the incredibly light, tender, and crispy/flaky whole grain crescent rolls, oven roasted with oil seeds sprinkled on top. Loved the regular church bells tolling the activities of the day from the San Domenico tower. If you need anything, always check with Barbara before or during your stay. Barbara's word is good, if she handles it, consider it taken care of. Barbara is a "10" hotelier.
Review 16:The best possible location: 3 min to bus terminal, 2 min to S.Domenico, 10 min to Campo. Excellent (for Italy) breakfasts. No external noise in the room. LBedroom, corridors, staircase, breakfast room are clean.
Review 17:great location, next to long-distance bus terminal and the old town. Bus No. 9 from train station can drop you oppsite to the long-distance bus terminal. Better request room facing the park for those facing the main street are nosiy. Helpful and friendly staff who provide all information needed. Room clean and comfortable. Better if air-purifier can be used less in the corridor.
Review 18:Great location. We took bus from Rome and then to Florence. Only a block from bus and easy access into historic area. Staff wonderful and so helpful. We needed to make long distance calls to US and having phone in room was a big plus. Would go back again. Dinner excellent and large breakfast was included.
Review 19:Parking was difficult and we were met by a rude receptionist. All other employees were great.
Review 20:Wonderful Location, Barbara was exceptional. Very good breakfast.
Review 21:- The receptionist of the morning shift when we arrived - Having booked a double room through booking, we expected a double bed. Unfortunately, we were given two single beds that had been pushed together -The old rooms
Review 22:The main building is very nice with a beatiful yard, but the rooms need to be renovated. We stayed from 14-16/9/2015 (2 nights) and the receptionist of the evening shift (unfortunately, we did not remember his name) was very friendly, professional, kind and helpful as he explained things very well, very easy to talk to, and he made us laugh during our conversation. He is a great asset for the hotel!
Review 23:The room tiny but if they took the large wardrobe out and put in another bag rack it would be fine
Review 24:The awesome front desk staff very helpful and little cheeky...
Review 25:Beautiful hotel, with lovely and clean rooms. Bathroom was very modern. Staff were very friendly as well. Big bonus is the attached restaurant, where we managed to have a late dinner. The food and wine was excellent. There was even a discount for hotel guests. Location is fantastic, short walk to the centre, yet on the station side of town.
Review 26:Good location: next to the historical center but quiet. Nicely decorated and very well kept. Great crew, especially the concierge Barbara. Very good breakfast. We had a really nice stay.
Review 27:Staff a little indifferent. Booking.com promised free parking - there was no free parking on the site. We
Review 28:The villa is beautiful. Great location, central yet private. We had a view over the football field - my boyfriend went over the roof with joy!
Review 29:I've stayed at this hotel many times over the years; the rooms vary greatly. I was not provided with a pleasant room yet the staff would not consider offering another one. Simone was very rigid, to the point of being rude about the fact that this was the room prepared for me. It was barely adequate.
Review 30:The building is beautiful; the location is very good. The rooms are a bit "tired". The restaurant, however, was fabulous! We had a terrific lunch there. This is not, however, the included breakfast which was awful. They reluctantly made a cappucinno for me when the instant machine with powered milk was broken.
Review 31:The breakfast was reasonable but no muesli or fresh coffee (only machine) were offered.
Review 32:The building is decorated beautifully inside with frescoes on the common room walls. It is well located next to the old centre of town. The reception staff provide a good map and dining suggestions.
Review 33:Can't think of anything I didn't like!
Review 34:Position of this hotel is great. Very handy to walk into Siena centre and also near enough to get to the bus station to explore other places (San Gimignano for instance). Lady on reception was very helpful and friendly.
Review 35:2nd floor = 53 steps, no elevator. noisy airconditioning external device next to the window (room 24) The drinks in the minibar are not cold
Review 36:Excellent hospitality, clean, pleasant environment
Review 37:No bad experience
Review 38:Hotel is an easy walk to town and located 1 block from the pickup place for wine tours. It is clean and quiet, would stay there again.
Review 39:No parking made it tough, but the desk clerk told us where some free parking was and it was taken care of. Not too bad.
Review 40:Great little place just outside of the old city walls. Perfect spot to hang your hat and discover Siena. We stayed during the Palio and loved it. Staff was very helpful, room was comfortable, breakfast was great, bathrooms were nice (this has been an issue on our trip at many places), and we were quite pleasantly surprised at how good the restaurant was. Are there our last night and it was wonderful. You have to try the Tuscan soup! ❤️❤️❤️❤️‼️ I want to go back.
Review 41:Room/furniture starts to show its age No parking included If you go for breakfast after 9.am you will only get some leftovers Tables were not really clean
Review 42:Close to the centre If you go for breakfast early there is a good choice of food Comfy beds Helpful and friendly staff at the reception desk
Review 43:No 'bad' experiences. BUT, clients should know that there are a lot of stairs. Also, the city tax (2.50 euro per night per person), which is figured into the price quote, must be paid separately and in cash.
Review 44:Quiet location, friendly staff. Location was the best. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends and colleagues.
Review 45:No elevator and difficult to get up the stairs with heavy luggage.
Review 46:Excellent location, only about 200 meters from bus station which was very convenient with our luggage.
Review 47:Could not find fault with anything.
Review 48:Hotel was very clean, nice breakfast. Quiet no traffic noise Right in the center of things. Hotel staff were excellent and very helpful, especially Barbara one of the hotel receptionist's. I tried to get some flower seeds, could not find them anywhere, then the day before we left Barbara gave me a collection of seeds which she had gone out of her way to buy. 5 Stars!!! Thankyou Barbara.
Review 49:Roberto, an unpleasant attendant at night. The mattress was hard.
Review 50:The breakfast is very good. The hotel restaurant is wonderful. Staff in general, except Roberto.
Review 51:we went to italy for a road trip so we stayed in different hotels.. this is so far the worst hotel breakfast in italy
Review 52:very nice location, if you're driving to siena with car, the paid carpark is very close to the hotel
Review 53:The beds are very firm and the location is very noisy.
Review 54:The staffmembers are very friendly. Breakfast is excellent. The rooms are adequate; good price-quality. Location is at the edge of the centre, everything is very easy to walk to.
Review 55:Hotel dated. The cost to park was a turn off. Knew ahead of time that there would be no lift but didn't expect to carry my bags to my room while my husband parked the car. The desk staff tried to take some of the luggage (2 couples) but were limited.
Review 56:The location was perfect. Short walk across the street right into the heart of Sienna. The restaurant nearby (with the heater) was fabulous...Breakfast provided a reasonable selection.
Review 57:Road noise with windows open, bed was two singles pushed together, pillows were terrible
Review 58:Good location on main road, great restaurant and friendly staff
Review 59:There is no elevator, carring bags to the 3rd is not nice after long travel. Only 1 small water bottle on the minibar.
Review 60:Location is great! easy to get by car. Near historical center!
Review 61:No airconditioning. No elevator and we were given a room on the Second Floor (upper most). Because of no airconditioning, we were forced to open our windows to cool the room. We were therefore exposed to the noise of the street below. We didnt get enough sleep.
Review 62:Location
Review 63:Difficult to navigate to the hotel the first time. Following signs to the very nearby soccer stadium would have been best, but we didn't know until we arrived.
Review 64:Very convenient location; had some parking very nearby, but was already full the couple times we checked - free municipal parking about 10 minutes away on foot, so not a problem. The breakfast buffet had a great variety, quality and dining room. All staff was helpful.
Review 65:good breakfast, just outside of the old town, free public parking nearby, helpful staff but it will be better if we had a hot water spoiler inside the room so that we don't need to ask staff to help us from time to time. but overall it is really good!
Review 66:Our room, # 54, on the ground floor, opened right onto the local bus stop, with sign posts between our window and the beautiful San Domenico church...negating the view. Also, all the conversations at the bus stop could be heard in our room. A room on the ground floor away from the bus stop would be OK, as would a higher one even at the bus stop, or one on the back of the building (unless there is an event at the stadium!). The room itself was very pleasant and nicely furnished.
Review 67:The location within Siena's walls, but not in the restricted driving zone, so we could drive to our hotel to offload and reload bags. The building is attractive, inside and out. The staff is pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was terrific. It is a short walk to the Campo, center of the Siena scene.
Review 68:Nothing
Review 69:The location of the hotel was at the center, the restaurant of the hotel serves very delicious Tuscan dishes and the service was also a good one. I strongly recommend this hotel
Review 70:No real fresh cappuccino as part of standard breakfast, could hear everything from the corridor (wide gaps), on match days noisy until c. 10pm
Review 71:Location near coach station, breakfast otherwise but coffee, balcony, nice staff, lovely public spaces
Review 72:No elevators, stairs only, might be not convenient if you bring big suitcases (not me).
Review 73:A very nice small boutique hotel, strategically located: just beside AC Siena stadium, across San Domenico church, within walking distance to the old town also to the bus station. Sweet & romantic classic building & decorations, helpful & friendly staffs, fast check in/out, clean & spacious rooms & bathroom, comfort bed. The in-house restaurant also serve good food at decent price! I love this hotel! :)
Review 74:Difficult to find without going into the ZTL zones. Or a long walk up hill, but worth it.
Review 75:Great location, decoration is beautiful. Charming place. It's a great location near medieval streets and great restaurants.
Review 76:reception not friendly, no bar, no common area as we had rain and had to stay in our rooms, as we had 3 rooms between our group no lifts we had to put our elder relative on the lowest floor there was no porter either. the breakfast was ok but not enough staff to clear table so we had to ourselves and wait for plates cups the food came out in dribs and drabs
Review 77:the hotel was clean and looked the part for the location
Review 78:The man reception staff is unpleasant while the woman staff is very kind.
Review 79:The location is good. The room is clean. The parking is close to the hotel. The price of the hotel is very reasonable. Specially, the restaurant is excellent ! We had a wonderful time. We'd like to recommend the other guests.
Review 80:The road was slightly noisy especially the church bell that went off at about 7am.
Review 81:The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and breakfast was nice. We stayed for 2 nights. Very good location in walking distance from the historical center.
Review 82:The pillows were really hard. Other than that it was pretty great.
Review 83:Although the hotel itself was only a bit above average, the location, the restaurant and the price were all amazing. I travel a lot and many of the hotels I stay in are about like this one, but this one is half the price. The location is excellent and the restaurant wonderful - I rarely eat in hotel restaurants but was tired the first night so ate there. So good I ate there the next night as well.
Review 84:Staff was efficient but not very friendly
Review 85:A few minutes from the bus station and a short walk into the old town. Hotel provided a very detailed map of the city Excellent breakfast Clean and comfortable
Review 86:We made a mistake on the date on booking. It was supposed to be the next night. When we showed up for the room, they told us that they would give us the next night for the same rate. Wasn't that classy? I was charged full price for the room even though I explained the mistake.
Review 87:We traveled all over Italy and this was, by far, the best hotel we stayed in. I loved everything about it, including the fact that they had 2 parking spots for our vans in their garage. There were 12 of us traveling together and we all have the same opinion!
Review 88:Staff were very friendly and did attend to all our needs. The breakfast was very good and better than most hotels in Europe. Would visit this hotel again.
Review 89:No restaurant or bar open probably due to the season.
Review 90:The staff was very friendly. The location of the hotel which is at walking distance from the bus station and the historic city centre.
Review 91:WiFi like a lot of hotels in Italy is set up with a German company and is UNSECURED. I had to keep having to log in. It would be very easy for a hotel to establish one's own server for guest security.
Review 92:Cleanliness, close to old city, good breakfast, staff friendly and helpful, beds better than average, quiet location. Close to bus interchange at piazza Gramsci.
Review 93:Housekeeping didn't restock things as they ran out or finished. NYE dinner was extremely over priced. Will try a different hotel if visiting Siena again.
Review 94:Location was convenient to center.
Review 95:There is no lift, that is quite usual in ancient buildings, but maybe it could be a problem for someone; anyway it's only two floors. Another small thing: our double bed had not one big mattress but two single ones, which is a bit uncomfortable.
Review 96:Nice building, in the city centre but just outside the restricted area, so reachable by car and close to free public parking; also a small free private parking is available. It's an restored old building, quite nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 97:No elevator (importantly no prior info about that). Bathroom door-lock was broken. Wardrobe door was malfunctional.
Review 98:Very good location, staff & a nice breakfast spread.
Review 99:There is no lift, so stairs might be a problem for some, but the staff are always on hand to help, and we had no problem even with four large cases.
Review 100:Comfort, helpful friendly staff, great breakfast, and right in the historic centre. A short taxi ride to the station.
Review 101:There was no kettle in the room and we do like to make a cup of tea when we get back of an afternoon.
Review 102:Friendliness and efficiency of staff who went out of their way to accommodate our early departure. Excellent restaurant We arrived by bus from Florence and liked the hotel being close enough to the bus station for three seventy year + olds to walk
Review 103:Surprisingly the hotel was far beyond our expectations. The location is perfect. The hotel is beautiful. The room is not modern but comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Important!!! Their parking is free, in the site. The price was ridicules.
Review 104:Very nice hotel. Feels like home. We had a room with a stadium view - quiet and big enough. There's a tv, fridge, big comfortable bed, table, chair. hospitality staff - will always help and advice about the places in Siena, also will call a cab in 2 minutes. Breakfast is fool of food and drinks - tasty. A breakfast room in the old style - but everything made with some special things. It's really a place where I wanted to stay longer than I had to and it was sad to leave. And when I came there for the first time I was glad to see that it looks the same that I saw it on the pictures. Thanks for that.
Review 105:Very nice members of staff, kind friendly and polite, the hotel was super clean, breakfast very nice, here what was promiced for the price we did get which does not happen often. No problems with anything, only good imression, gave best votes on everything and absolutely reccomend.
Review 106:The bed was a bit hard.
Review 107:At 44 euro a night for a reasonably upmarket hotel, this wasunbelievable value. The location was perfect, just outside thecity wall.
Review 108:Homey comfortable place in a city we really enjoyed. Attentive staff, and delicious breakfast added to our enjoyment. A short walk to the bus station was a plus.
Review 109:All good.
Review 110:The hotel's proximity to the bus station is a big bonus. Also easy to walk to the Duomo and Campo. The breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of self-service options. Barbara at reception was very welcoming and always helpful with any queries we had. All in all, very happy with our stay at this value-for-money hotel and would hope to return.
Review 111:We stayed in November and hotel was not full we were given a very small room at the front of the bulding and downstairs so on street level. When we arrived the msn on reception couldnt hsve cared less had we been there or not. Breakfast very basic and all self service even though there was a barista, probably because hotel was half empty.
Review 112:location very good hotel seemed clean.
Review 113:Clean in general, but when I dried some clothes on the heater, it turned out to be filled with dust.
Review 114:Excellent location and beautiful room with a nice view. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff, with good English.
Review 115:No elevator, we were on the third floor.
Review 116:Soft spoken Roberto was very helpful, we were there on an Italian holiday and the hotel was full . Breakfast was excellent on the weekend but more sparse during the week. We ate at the restaurant on our first evening which also was very good. Ample towels provided in the bathroom but the water ran hot and cold in the shower.
Review 117:I don't think there was anything I did not like. The room was clean, fairly big, and with a wonderful view of San Domenico church and the Duomo high up over the valley. It was on the third floor, and there is no elevator, but the receptionist on duty on our arrival kindly carried my case up himself. Staff is very friendly and helpful - from reception to the restaurant and the cleaning lady. Breakfast is good enough, and I would totally recommend the hotel restaurant for dinner. Location is simply excellent - close enough to walk to the centre, but not in the middle of the tourist areas.
Review 118:The hotel was labyrinthine and had no lift (we were lucky in being on the ground floor, although being next to reception we had the noise of guests leaving early mornings). The off-hand attitude of some of the male reception staff. No comfortable residents' lounge only seating in reception which was very public. Having stayed at the Hotel Roma in Pisa immediately before this did not match their hospitality.
Review 119:The location, very central and only five minutes from the bus station. The room with very comfortable beds. All the female staff. Breakfast very good.
Review 120:Lack of elevator to a second floor room ensured lots of exercise.
Review 121:Good wi-fi service. Good English-language t..v. channels. good breakfast buffet. Convenient restaurant on site. Helpful staff to help with luggage.
Review 122:The early morning church bells. The bath was useless as there was no plug and a replacement could not be found. The breakfast was below average, the fruit had gone rotten in the fruit bowl. Hot water for tea was not hot.
Review 123:The excellent position and friendly staff apart from one rude person on the front desk.
Review 124:While our room was perfectly functional it could have been a bit more stylish or upbeat in atmosphere.
Review 125:The building was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast area was nice.
Review 126:Hotel does not have a lift but staff happy to assist with baggage
Review 127:Nice clean room and hotel beautifully maintained. Receptionist very helpful and friendly and good breakfast provided. 200 m walk to main Piazza
Review 128:No elevator. But this is not a problem if you suitcase is not too heavy...
Review 129:Perfect localization, at the very edge of the historical centre, but yet you can park your car at the hotel. All you can need and good kitchen...
Review 130:Poor air conditioning and WiFi in the rooms. Breakfast a bit basic but adequate.
Review 131:Excellent location right on the edge of the old town and near to the main square.
