Reviews for Gyeongju Happy Village Syeobul
Review 1:We were fine with the small toilet facilities but larger North Americans need to know going in the bathrooms are quite small.
Review 2:Great traditional style Korean accommodation, very nice breakfast, and great location (albeit, a little hard for us to find.)
Review 3:Nil
Review 4:Being located next to the Royal Tomb of King Naemul, the hostel got a very good view. Jonathan and his family is really very nice and caring. With his recommendation, we save much time in travelling from hostel to one of the famous attractions, Bulguksa. We enjoy the ride on jumbo taxi very much. On the last day, Jonathan is kind enough to drive us to the bus station. We have a good stay at Happy Village. Really thanks Jonathan for his warm hospitality.
Review 5:Very traditional hotel with a modern bathroom. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Be prepared though that you do sleep on the floor which is hard. Enjoyed the breakfast served to us by the owner. Great location in a beautiful city.
Review 6:We were provided with a thicker mattress- than a Korean national would get, but it is still slightly hard. is was ok overnight (or 2), but I am not sure of too many days. I am a westerner- and used to a slightly softer mattress.
Review 7:A beautiful Hanok, very clean, shower very good, lovely surroundings. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Review 8:It was a little difficult to find on the map, but we found it quite easily.
Review 9:Extremely comfortable, next to all of the attraction, and the owner has excellent English.
Review 10:The room is very small .it was raining in the morning we could not have breakfast outside so we took it with other guests in a room that luckily not occupied that night. Breakfast is served between 08h and 09h only so not possible to sleep late if you want to have breakfast
Review 11:The owner is very helpfiull the location is great
Review 12:The place was very difficult to find. I had to explore the neighbourhood to find it. The taxi driver and the tourist information didn't know where to guide me.
Review 13:The staff is very kind and helpful. They even invited us to a typical korean party, free of charge !!
Review 14:We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful environment. Different to sleep on the floor but it was comfortable. Friendliness is absolutely unique and you will get support for whatever it is. I loved the simple breakfast with toast, jam, boiled eggs, fresh tomatoes or fruits and a cup of coffee or tea. It felt like leaving home when we had to move on.
Review 15:If you're not expecting it, sleeping on the floor on a thin comforter like cover can be a bit uncomfortable. However, the owner was very accommodating and gave a couple of extra ones and by the end of our stay we got used to it.
Review 16:Very traditional new Korean style guest house. Jonathan, the owner, was very helpful.
Review 17:The rooms are very small, and foreign travellers need to be aware that this is a Hanok guesthouse, so it helps if you're familiar with traditional-style Korean accomodation.
Review 18:The staff are really friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean. For historic Gyeongju the location is almost perfect, in a nice a quiet spot between the city proper and heritage sites like Cheomseongdae and Anapji. Dining and drinking options nearby. The actual property is pretty.
Review 19:A beautifully built, traditional Korean lodge. Ask for extra yoga mats from the hosts to pad your floor bed if you wish. Wonderfully close to historical sites.
Review 20:Location is perfect. A new residence with authentic Korean architecture. The hosts are very accomodating and assisted with great advice and even drove the family to the bus terminus at the end.
