Farm Stay Castello Di Potentino sells fast on our site. Set on Mount Amiata in the south of Tuscany, Castello Di Potentino is a working organic farm that produces award-winning wines and olive oil. Its grounds include a private chapel and beautiful garden.
The rooms all have different designs, some with wood beams and others with frescoes on the ceiling. Each one has antique furniture and plenty of old world charm.
A sweet breakfast of bread, jams, fruit and yogurt is served in the breakfast room each morning. The staff can arrange wine tastings and other tours around the castle and in the surrounding area.
Castello Di Potentino is a 5 minute drive from the small town of Seggiano. Parking is free and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo is a 20 minute drive away. The nearest bus stop is half a mile away for buses to Grosseto, one hour away.

Reviews for Castello Di Potentino

Review 1:As soon as we got their we were treated like family. We were invited to join the group at the table to share their estate wine and desert. Young people were there to help with the harvest and they were interesting and sociable. The morning we left we joined in to help trim leaves on the grape vines to prepare for the harvest. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night, next time it will be for much longer.

Review 2:We had to wait about 15 minutes before someone realized we were at the gate.

Review 3:The facilities were great and the conversation with the owners, guests and volunteers at dinner was very enjoyable.

Review 4:The fact that it's a castle! True in every sense of the word. Beautifully restored, rich in history, comfortable to stay. A memorable experience that we will treasure. Our host, Alexander, was polite, kind and very knowledgeable about the castle and area. A must to truly experience Italy.

Review 5:our hosts Charlotte and Alexander were outstanding hosts. The warmth of their welcome went far beyond the normal bed and breakfast routine. Their home - a castle (the real deal) is furnished in fitting style and surrounded by treed hills and vineyards from their own label. The new pool enjoys the same vistas. We were given a tour and history of the place and participated in the wine harvest. It is a short 30 minutes away from the best Brunello di Montalcini vineyards and not too far from Siena for a day trip. Great food options abound in the town and full board at the cattle is also possible. Not a fancy or stuffy atmosphere for such a unique surroundings. The rooms are baroque and throw you back in time, it was an all-round great spot and fantastic value for the money.

Review 6:Nothing

Review 7:Everything was OK. When arriving at the place we were impressed by the welcoming attitude of the owners who tried to do their best to make feel us like at home. Besides we had a free wine testing in the castle with respective tour. It was amazing! It is a real castle with its own long long history... Besides there is a nice and tidy swimming pool with impressive views. We were with our children in a group of 12 persons aged between 23 to 57 y.o. and everyone really loved this nice and friendly Castle. This Place is highly recommended to visit.

Review 8:You need to have dinner by driven for 20 minutes at least. However, the Castello gave a very good recommendation.

Review 9:It is a great experience for our group in Tuscany. The castello is old but comfort, special but clearing room, fantastic swimming pool, and very nice family.

Review 10:Lovely authentic Tuscan countryside experience off the beaten path. Where can you stay in a 1000+ year old castle ?

Review 11:The Castelo, the location, the people, the pool...

Review 12:Very special location, magical. Great hosts, fantastich wine.

Review 13:Staff/family was fabulous. Dinners were fun & the food was great. The pool with fantastic views was a lovely treat.

Review 14:We spent the evening drinking the castle wine around the fire pit with the other guests and got to know the staff. In a castle! How amazing!

Review 15:Only staying 1 night

Review 16:Everything was beyond belief wonderful. Everything was so imperfectly PERFECT, which is perfection.

Review 17:The decorations of the interior & the local knowledge

Review 18:Didn't feel authentically Italian as is run by a British family. Walking Paths and garden areas should have been properly maintained.

Review 19:Great place with lots of character. Lots of great sitting areas and walking paths on the property. Shame they weren't maintained though. Delicious dinner with interesting characters. Beautiful bathtub and big bathroom.

Review 20:We only were able to spend one night.

Review 21:The pictures online don't do it justice. The entire place ismeticulously restored with an eclectic twist (a beautiful spiralstaircase in one of the many libraries and books galore). The hostsmake you feel like one of the family and invite you to theiractivities on the farm (they were crushing grapes with their feet theday we were leaving so we missed it). They have two wonderful pianosthe guests can use.

Review 22:I think they should promote their own products (wine and olive oil) more. I am sure many people would love to buy their lovely products.

Review 23:Loved the location, the chateau, the food and the wine. A fantastic sympathetic renovation with passionate hosts.

Review 24:Location isn't mentioned in navigator map. Was rather hard to find it. The road leading to the castle is not for a tiny rental car.

Review 25:Very calm. No traffic and noise. Excellent views. Medieval interior. Different from other places.

Review 26:The road quality (l1st part of the gravel road to the castle) nearly damaged the underside of our little rental car. Heavy rains had washed away much of the road, hopefully only a seasonal problem.

Review 27:The atmosphere, the castle itself, the hosts, the laid back style, the location - it's the perfect place for relaxing. The way the castle is restored to former glory, without much visual modernizing, is fascinating. You get a strong feeling of time-travel once inside the castle walls!

Review 28:Spectacularly restored castle in an unbelievably gorgeous setting. very friendly family runs this place and makes you feel like family as soon as you arrive.

Review 29:Beautiful views and a wonderful dinner.

Review 30:The Castle. The Staff. The Dogs. The Wine. The Olive Oil. Cool Place!

Review 31:Very friendly welcoming place, wish I could have stayed longer!

Review 32:Warm welcome interesting conversations Fascinating wine tasting Fabulousrestored castle beautiful surroundings
