Reviews for Antica Tenuta Le Casacce

Review 1:Wifi is only in main building / breakfast / lounge area And not in the rooms

Review 2:- spacious apartment Complete with utensils and fridge - amazing views - spacious balcony - nice grounds to roam and play for kids - beautiful architecture and antique decor - decent breakfast with a view of grounds if you choose to sit outside - kind and welcoming lady who owns the place and manages even though she speaks zero English

Review 3:I don't think the bed covers are washed as it was incredibly dusty leaving me with cold symptoms for the two days we were there. Also the bed was really tired - we had to put an extra duvet under the bed sheet so that it wasn't so hard. Also You can only get wifi in the main house.

Review 4:We stayed for a nearby wedding so it was close to the venue. The staff were flexible with our arrival time as we had a long drive after our flight. Didn't get to use the pool but it looked like a very relaxing location. Also the breakfast buffet was generous and the staff polite and helpful.

Review 5:The bed was a little uncomfortable.

Review 6:The pool has a spectacular view! The best part which makes it worth everything is the dinner that they serve. By far, it has been the best meal we have ever experienced in our life! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! It was a true farm stay in Tuscany!

Review 7:A few hooks and/or shelves would be useful in the bathroom.

Review 8:We liked the ambiance of the apartment. The staff is nice and helpful. The surroundings were beautiful, the view from the pool on the Val d'Orcia is fantastic, the whole place was calm and it was like what we have expected from our stay.

Review 9:Wifi only worked in the main house area. This is quite a remote location - a fair distance from Pisa airport (took us 3 hours to drive there), but if you want an authentic, Tuscan experience, it is fabulous.

Review 10:Fantastic setting and the family were super-helpful - especially the young man who was around at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent swimming pool and stunning views. The surrounding area is beautiful and there are some lovely local towns/villages to visit. Make sure you visit Pienza - it's gorgeous!

Review 11:Very hot weather and no fan in the room. Bed was extremely hard. Restaurant set menu was very poor, not what you would expect from Italian cuisine No restaurants nearby.

Review 12:Nice location, nice pool.

Review 13:Wifi didn't work most of the time and couldn't pay because of failing internet.

Review 14:We stayed here for 2 nights and visited nearby villages as Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino. And then we returned to the oasis of tranquility. Great views, basic room and really awesome diners!! For €25 you get a 4 course meal consisting of local specialties. Highly recommended!

Review 15:Customer service could have been better. Pool was green though we traveled through in May so was a bit early for swimming. Donkeys advertised in pictures but there were none during our stay; apparently only on grounds during summer months.

Review 16:Great sunset views. Complete privacy. Good location for traveling around Tuscany. Very spacious and comfortable rooms with kitchenette.

Review 17:Booked for two nights, had to stay another. Fantastic location, fantastic staff, fantastic food, fantastic stay. Really romantic place on a olivefarm with great view over the D'orcia Valley. Fabolous food made the traditonal way from good raw materials. Good Roms overlooking the sorroundings. Simply perfect.

Review 20:Everything was great, but if anyone has anything negative to say, they may not realize the owner passed away a few months ago. He used to do everything there, but now his wife and daughter are trying to keep things running. Considering the circumstances, they are doing an amazing job.

Review 21:Absolutely charming. I loved the antiques and the old pictures of their family on the wall. It felt like my family, for that weekend. We opted to have dinner there, and I'm glad we did -some of the best meals of our vacation. Also, on the 2nd night we may have showed up for dinner an hour early.. I didn't realize until the next day that it was daylight savings! Instead of explaining it, they just sat us for dinner early. So kind!

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Alessia and her mother have been superb hosts. Being the only guests, we were allocated in the main patron suite boasting a huge living room and and a terrace overlooking the property. The rich and wholesome breakfast and the sea-food dinner on the last night added an exquisite plus to our short stay.

Review 24:Beautiful Tuscany hillside setting with wonderful views both on the property and down the valley. Ample choices for breakfast and wonderful multi-course dinners. Very friendly and helpful staff. Family owners are actively engaged. Old buildings have modern elements to make them comfortable but charming.

Review 25:The apartment was not cosy for several reasons. Double bed made from two solo beds with a hill in the middle. Furniture were mixed style and a bit run-down. There was no heating in mid October, we had a bit cold in 17 degrees C in the room. Puritan would be more descriptive on the room rather than rustic as it is in the description. We also hated the luminescent light and noisy went in the bathroom. No wi-fi in the room, just at the restaurant. Also the spot is a little bit off from main Tuscany sights. We had way better accommodation on the same price at a better location.

Review 26:The atmosphere of the restaurant building is great. Breakfast was good and it was very pleasant and pieceful to have it on the terrace with nice surrounding.

Review 27:It's not walking distance to anywhere, but that was the point for us. Pure escapism!

Review 28:This was the first 2 nights of our honeymoon and thus we got upgraded to the hugest apartment I have ever stayed in replete with wrought iron chandelier and huge fireplace. As it was summer the large sunny terrace was much appreciated and beautiful views on Tuscan countryside. Eat there every night- it was some of the best we ate in Tuscany and we ate a lot! Staff were friendly and accommodated my cheese intolerance perfectly. All in all wish I could go back! Oh and great WiFi!

Review 29:twin beds made into double were a little creaky and you could feel the seam if you rolled over to the middle. Furnishings a little run down, or you might say Rustic! Not all villas have a view, be sure to request one as the view is lovely. staff very relaxed, sometimes not easily accessed through the day.

Review 30:quiet lovely views relaxed environment Family run Excellent dinner option on site Good breakfast selection. Beautiful Pool area

Review 31:Kitchen facilities - minimal

Review 32:We spent three nights at the Antica Tenuta Le Casacce near Seggiano, where we rented a cottage which is actually the right hand side of the main house with the reception and breakfast room, terrace, etc. The property is well situated down a stony track in the heart of the country and has many attractions. We were very sorry to learn that the chef who had been so promising died a year ago, so our dinner on the night we arrived was not quite as wonderful as the brochure in our room had led us to expect. The breakfasts were copious and it was nice to be able to load our trays and eat on the terrace, with its stunning views. The pool is large and pleasant, a short distance from the main house over a large lawn, but right by the new bungalows. We were happy to be where we were, rather than in one of these, as we like old character and don't mind things being a little the way they may have been in the olden days. The shower-bathroom was modern and perfectly reasonably equipped, and we liked having a little bit of terrace outside our front door where we could sit out. It was also nice to be on the ground floor, as we are getting old. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. My only advice to them would be to equip the kitchenette a bit better for self catering, with an electric kettle, some mugs and a couple more dinner plates. I had brought my own matches, candles, tea towels, etc, but had to ask for coffee and tea bags. A little cafetière would have been nice as the coffee was in a packet. What was extremely kind and much appreciated by us was that our laundry was done for free. It would have been 5 euros, which we thought very reasonable, but no charge was made as it took a little while during a rainy spell. We would go again!

Review 33:Staff are not available all day long Be prepared with food and snacks - you will get stung at lunchtime when hunger strikes and there are no open stores nearby.

Review 34:Great food for dinner (4 courses at 8pm) Large, comfortable rooms

Review 35:The beds in the hotel were awfully uncomfortable; Flat and hard mattresses. Not my cup of tea but I still slept fine.

Review 36:The place itself was beautiful and rustic and full of character and charm. Food was great although we preferred to drive around the region trying new places. Swimming pool excellent.

Review 37:catering facilities in apartment were limited to cooker, crockery and cutlery. No perishables nor washing up facilities were provided

Review 38:Dinner was heavenly, though you couldn't order from a menu space in apartment mosquito netted windows helpful staff despite not speaking English swimming pool gorgeous views

Review 39:Hard beds like every where else in Italy. We arrived late, which I had notified the hotel prior. However I recommend no one do that, because we arrived after 9 pm, we didn't even have someone show us where our apartment was. I went looking for it up on the hill, but it was so dark I had to use my cell phone to check every room which one was ours, and after a long day of travelling I just wanted to shower but we weren't allowed because the cooks were waiting for us to go eat, or else we would have had nothing to eat all night. It was so difficult to find, it is further out from the small Town, but thankful to a great couple that showed us the way we made it finally. I usually don't complain about anything because I travel a lot, but this one did not impress me, and I am glad it wasn't too expensive.

Review 40:The restaurant is cute. Good enough place for the money we paid.

Review 41:Our apartment was 1 km from the main building (where the breakfast is served, restaurant is located and wi-fi connection is available) which would not be a problem if the road was not in such a horrible state.

Review 42:Our apartment block is lovely, secluded, with a dedicated outdoor pool near by. The apartment could be better equipped (there is only one skillet and one large pot) but we managed just fine.

Review 43:Cooking facilities in the apartment where basic - but then who wants to cook for yourself in Tuscany !!!!!!

Review 44:The location is truly paradise and great location to explore the region

Review 45:Poor service at meals. We were rushed through breakfast (we turned up late but there was not even 5 minutes grace before everything was whisked away), and at lunch we were charged a set fee of 18 Euro for a few pieces of meat and cheese. We asked for salads but were informed they had run out of tomatoes. No apology or discount offered. This place is best as a self-catering option. Perhaps dinners are better but in general we were made to feel that every request was an effort.

Review 46:The setting is stunning. Great pool, beautiful rustic grounds and cottages

Review 47:The staff were sometimes not as available as we might have liked - for example, when we arrived it was not obvious where we needed to go to check-in and who we should ask, which meant we were waiting around for a while. By-and-large it was excellent though.

Review 48:It was a beautiful setting, comfortable accommodation and wonderful food. I liked that there was no menu, but you got to eat what the chef had cooked, which was always wonderful. And a lovely pool with fantastic views.

Review 49:Nothing. However the place has two parts. One is about a kilometer away downhill which is approached by a dirt road. We were initially offered a room there but we told them that it would be very difficult for us specially with our two kids and so they offered us a room which is the best room we have ever stayed in following a half hour wait in which they prepared it.

Review 50:Very friendly staff. The owner had passed away four days prior to our visit but his family did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The Dinner was terrific although expensive at 25 euros per head The Wifi is supposed to work only near the restaurant but worked well in the room. Kids enjoyed he swimming pool.

Review 51:Some appartments are a bit far from the reception/restaurant but those are even more peaceful than the rest so it is not really an inconvenient but a matter of preference.

Review 52:Beauty without too much ornaments. Really rural place. Staff is very kind. Price/quality is very good. The house wine is delicious. The pool is fantastic (large and with very good views).

Review 53:The location, peaceful and relaxing surroundings without being too isolated. Lovely pool and gardens with stunning views and sunsets over the Val d'Orcia. Breakfast buffet is informal and is served until a reasonable time for those who want a lie in.

Review 54:Suggestion : including eggs at breakfast would complete the menu.

Review 55:Excellent location and a wonderful landscape. The villa where we stayed was quiet and very private (with its own swimming pool) . The staff does an awesome job to keep the place clean and everything running smoothly. The owner, Enrico and his staff is always ready to assist you with whatever you may need. The breakfast was diversified and plentiful. Also, having a basket full of food for breakfast delivered at your door was very thoughtful an greatly appreciated. Having a kitchen available, a definite plus since the closest town is a half an hour drive. A unique place and a wonderful experience!

Review 56:Spectacular place, surround by amazing nature! Perfect condition of accommodation! The owner with huge heart, the wizard of the taste! Friendly Staff! Funny and sweet animal! I fully recommend this place! It was a pleasure to be there, with all our new Friends!

Review 57:-Cleaning personell came too early and waked us up (9am!!!). Cleaned room over us by apparently moving all the furniture! -Rooms were not clean: Spider webs, broken facilities in bathroom. -Fridge was on balcony. -Broken floor around pool. -Breakfast personell walks around in gym cloth. -Breakfast selection really small, and not really nice presented. -Dinner often too big portions of easy food instead of high quality and smaller amounts! -Rooms look old fashioned and dark inside. Moskito nets are missing in windows/doors. -I was here 5 years ago too: rooms were clean, facilities not broken, breakfast was on the room; not much left of that quality.

Review 58:-Owner is really nice.

Review 59:The location, while stunningly beautiful, was a little remote and hard to get to because of the long, winding road to the property. It is not a perfect place to set as home base if you want to travel extensively throughout Tuscany but you can do alot of traveling in the vicinity. And it is wonderful for relaxation and romance!

Review 60:The property was simply lovely - the view was umbelievable! Enrico was a generous and friendly host, a wonderful chef and a great source of local information.

Review 61:No wi-fi in the room, only in public area which small and uncomfortable to use, if you need wi-fi to plan your next days (like us) this is not the place. The cabin is very simple and feels a bit empty and cold, it doesn't feels cozy, really need to decorate the place. The person who owns the place is also the chef that makes the dinner, it costs 20 euros per person, the food is not classic Italian, don't expect pizza or pasta. it was pretty terrible (for me and my wife) very simple meat (chicken), i would avoid it. The breakfast is very simple, few cheeses and prosciutto, but i think this is the standard in all Italy.

Review 62:The place is very quiet and beautiful, you will get a private cabin with small kitchen (stove, dishes, kettle) so you can cook whatever you want. If you are cold the the heating works very good (which is not trivial). It is also very clean

Review 63:Nothing.

Review 64:On arrival, we were greeted by Enrico, the owner of the Tenuta and were shown to an extremely quite 3 roomed appt. with vast views on his property. We enjoyed supper which was cooked by Enrico himself using local produce which was excellent. Facilities including pool and grounds are also excellent and in close proximity to places of interest. Parking is no problem at all and although remote in the hills, the GPS took us right up to the reception. The location is ideal for a relaxing break whilst enjoying excellent food, prepared by super chef patron, Enrico.

Review 65:Really buatiful, in great location, nice appartments. Enrike is very hospitable.Rooms are so nice, old style and done with good taste, wonderful place for relaxing:)

Review 66:Great view, kitchen, and comfortable room. Most important of all, very good price.

Review 67:Rooms could be a bit cleaner

Review 68:Swimming pool in a sunset Privacy in rooms Location Friendliness

Review 69:Amazing athmosphere!! Nice staff, very good food!!

Review 70:No internet in the room, only at restaurant

Review 71:The close contact with Nature The confortable terrasse The generous dinner

Review 72:The apartments should be more clean

Review 73:Very nice staff, extremly animal friendly, great place to relax

Review 74:I think air-conditioning equipment would be needed in rooms.

Review 75:Nice place, friendly staff, big pool, clean environment.

Review 76:Many bestiole at the net

Review 77:The food and The applacement

Review 78:It's just perfect place to relax and enjoy beautiful views. Thumbs up for the great dinner as well :) I will surely come back one day!

Review 79:Nice view from the pool

Review 80:The location of the estate, the rooms and how they are spread apart...the scenery, the excellent home made food, everything was just amazing

Review 81:There is no expresso making machine. The bedroom door made lound noise when you open the door. The shower water pressure was a bit low.

Review 82:Location, staff, pool and restaurant

Review 83:the bed was extremely hard. I had problem sleeping

Review 84:the view, the swimming pool, the food

Review 85:far away from heart of tuscany, dirty pool

Review 86:quiet location

Review 87:View

Review 88:The bed was horrible and the location was a bit scary.

Review 89:It was quiete. The staff was nice. The view was nice. Big rooms. They had a pool.

Review 90:Swiming pool Clean Calm Nice staff Big and lighty rooms

Review 91:The staff in restaurant was not service minded The pool was dirty

Review 92:Beautiful setting Nice green area

Review 93:There's no wifi coverage in the rooms, just in the common places.

Review 94:Idyllic environment and exceptional restaurant.

Review 95:bed was bad and screeching

Review 96:big pool, amazing view, crazy chef, excellent food, good wines, cute donkey

Review 97:Very friendly owner, beautiful house and landscapes, excellent dinner

Review 98:we stayed in a very clean and comfortable small apartment for 2 days. the environment of Antica Tenuta Le Casacce is excellent. everything is managed very well. view from the swimming pool is really great. here is really a paradise of tuscana. we also enjoy the delicious dinner. very nice farmhouse.

Review 99:Only two negative things - 1. the staff in the restaurant, very very slow, took them an hour to serve us dinner, after such a long wait we did not wait for desert. 2. the dinner is overpriced for what it is. It was more than the price of the stay. My advice is to use the hotel but not have the dinner. Anyway, if it wasn't for these 2 negative points, it would have been just too perfect :-)

Review 100:The setting is more beautiful than I could have expected. The view from the swimming pool is a dream. The cottages were spacious, charming and very clean. I did not mind the slightly squeaky bed, it added more authenticity to the Tuscan experience :-)

Review 101:nothing to add

Review 102:Thanks to the owner Enrico for fantastic dinners and help with horse lessons for my child. The location is good - not fare from Pienza and other towns. The cosy yard, the swimming pool. The donkey who lives in the farm is very funny.

Review 103:Wow! Exceeded our expectations by far. The pool with the most amazing view was a surprise bonus, and Ernesto's food is not to be missed. Great value too.

Review 104:Even though the manor house looks fantastic, there should be made some improvement on room facilities (like quality of the bed and mattress), bathroom, restaurant decoration.

Review 105:Great holiday combining location, food experience (dinner home-made by chef Enrico), splendid panorama, large rooms/apartments. It's also very convenient to see other old towns and Tuscany country view around. The owner and staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Review 106:Extremely beautiful scenery. Hospitality on a high level. Good food is an understatement. The Chef is an artist and provides you with a 4 course Italian meal for €25. Great wines available too.

Review 107:Bad internet WiFi, Quality of Breakfast not sufficient, late dinner, attention to detail, more hobby than professionality

Review 108:Quiet, peaceful, environment,

Review 109:It was excellent! The location is a little paradise and there are lots of wonderful places to visit near by. You can have dinner at the venue every evening. It was always a pleasant surprise. Enrico, the owner and chef astonished us with his marvelous cooking. Every single dish was emotional. Best eating ever! It is difficult to eat anywhere else after that. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Enrico! Ap.Levante :)

Review 110:The place is a real paradise for those who love nature and countryside. On the top of this you have excellent staff and exclusive quisine. Every day the owner cooks for the Tenuta's quests and it's really delicious!

Review 111:The mattres was bed. The shower really small

Review 112:We just came for 1 night before continue to rome. Enrico the owner and the shef made a wonderful dinner for the easter. Its was absoloutly perfect. The best dinner haver. Highly reccomend !

Review 113:We stayed only for a night but the owner made it very special. Lovely facilities (the triple room that we got is huge), great dinner and breakfast. Magnificent views.

Review 114:The windy road to get there, but only because I had a screaming baby in the car.. :)

Review 115:Superb location, amazing host and staff, unique views and landscapes,

Review 116:We loved the food, location, ambience and the way it was so relaxed that we felt at home. The food was incredible with the perfect combination of flavours using home or local products, rustic but elegant. Nothing seemed too much for the staff and its owner infact we are hoping to return next month.

Review 117:1. Two single beds being combined to make a single queen size bed. Middle wood frame kind of distracted the mood. 2. Lack of hand soaps. We brought our own so not really a major issue. 3. Breakfast was always the same, good quality though. Maybe alternate products every 2nd or third day? 4. Perhaps a dinner table or two separate from main dining area for an intimate dinner with loved one. I would be prepared to pay extra on demand for such privacy.

Review 118:1. The staff and management very kind and helpful. 2. Mr. Enrico Casini was not only very hospitable, but also made you feel welcome day 1. 3. The scenery from our villa, Olivitras, was magnificent especially to view the sunris and sunset. 4. Location well placed to be a hub for various day trips to Seggiano, Saturnia, Siena, etc. 5. Privacy, number 1. 6. Cleanliness of not only the villa, but also the landscape also. 7. The evening meals were not only served, but Enrico provided a summary of each dish as to what was being served, how he prepared it and the main ingredients and where they came from. 8. Value for money.

Review 119:Enrico is a wonderful host who put a lot of love into this little gem over the Tuscany hills. Everything has been built up with lots of taste and seems naturally integrated into the landscape. The view of the valley is amazing! The perfect place if you want to stay in the Tuscany nature. Breakfast is very fine and above Italian standards, the dinner in four courses is based on a very nice, simple tuscany cuisine with self-cultivated ingredients.

Review 120:The shower didn't work well. Very hot water or cold water, but it wasn't possible to regulate the temperature.

Review 121:The place was great and beautiful. The pool had fantastic views and the room was very big with a great kitchen.

Review 122:- Bathroom: shower needs serious improvements (the entire floor gets wet during shower, temperature is not constant, water pumping systems get very noisy after flushing the toilet).- Wifi has a weak signal, no signal in our room. Foreign guests would benefit a lot from having a better wifi coverage. - Lots of insects and flies get into the rooms even if windows are kept closed - suggest to provide guests with electric insect repellents or similar alternatives.

Review 123:Large room, with terrace. Silence. Excellent dinner. Very nicefacilities with nice view. Staff is very friendly. Good location.

Review 124:At time of our stay, wi-fi was available only around the restaurant where breakfast and dinner were served

Review 125:Spacious, clean room with own kitchen and dining table Very nice view from room and from outside pool Excellent dinner by Enrico

Review 126:A really nice play to stay at in a nice environment. We got a condo with a great wiev and it was a quiet place. The dinner at the veranda we really appricated.
