Reviews for Hotel Europa

Review 1:In my room there was no internet and WiFi very inconvenient. Breakfast was disappointing.

Review 2:Good location near my work and in the center of the city. Relatively quiet.

Review 3:The facilities looks as if you are in an hotel in the seventies. The sound of the water pipes was really disturbing.

Review 4:Everything was great. The staff was really helpful. Location is really good and the old historic center is walk-able.

Review 5:Situated in an elite area next to via Liberta and near the centre of Palermo. The cleanliness of the hotel, good breakfast and location makes it a good value for money.

Review 6:Only one minus for the coffee served during breakfasts- really awful.

Review 7:Very good hotel for the price we paid. Close to the city center and Bus stop to Mondello beach and central station is only 2 minutes on foot. Friendly staff and safe neighborhood. We spend there 3 nights and fully recommend it.

Review 8:Poor sound insulation. Great noise from the street inside the room.

Review 9:The location is fine, not far from the main sightscenes, close to the bus station to Mondello beach (approx. 20 min to the beach). The room is ordinary but comfort. Breakfast is frugal but enough for the morning time.

Review 10:Hotel needs renovation. Beds are very uncomfortable, and wifi is only usable in the hotel lobby.

Review 11:Good location, nearby stops airport bus and other public buses. Very large rooms.

Review 12:some pictures when someone looking on the internet is not reliable, the minibar inside is very dirty, and we got a room and it was stinkin and we got another one but it's as well.

Review 13:Locations, staff is helpful, everything is clear without the minibar .

Review 14:kahvaltı zayıf. yeterli sayılmaz.

Review 15:Konumu mükemmel. Şehrin merkezinde sayılır. Odalar geniş, çok yüksek tavan. Banyo rahat. sanki salon salamanje. Resepsiyonistler harika, çok iyi İngilizce konuşuyorlar, çok yardımcı ve çok ehil.

Review 16:Everything was good, breakfast also...but I would change instead of sweet breakfast to have something else also...

Review 17:Good location and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good value for the money.

Review 18:Two-star hotel facilities for a reasonable price. The staff were excellent, in particular the restaurant manager who kindly provided lunchtime refreshments and dinner on a Monday when the restaurant was normally closed.

Review 19:El personal del hotel, especialmente el de la recepción, fue amabilisimo. La habitación del hotel es muy amplia y el desayuno es excelente. Decididamente lo recomiendo por la rrelación precio/calidad.

Review 20:The breakfast is a shame: croissant and coffee, but the price it is charged for breakfast also is nothing. I would not rely on that breakfast much, however, it can give you some to survive till a later one. Coffee is the worst I ever had, though.

Review 21:Location is perfect - just in the center of everything, however, a little bit far from the historical part of the city which is about 15-20 min walk. The cleanness is impeccable and the staff is very friendly. The shuttle for the airport is 2 blocks away.

Review 22:WiFi internet sometimes slow, but not that matters.

Review 23:The staff in the hotel is very kind, helpful and professional. Rooms are very nice and clean. The position of the hotel is the best thing, in posh part of town, a minute walk away from best cafes, restaurants, museums...but very quiet in the night.

Review 24:The hotel is right in the middle of Palermo. We took the Preste Commande bus into Palermo from the airport and there was a bus stop literally 200 metres from the hotel. It's a short walk to the Politeanna and Teatro Massimo and other great spots Like the fabulous Martorana Curch. It's an easy place to then pick up buses to other towns/citoes like Trapani, Cefalu etc. The front desk staff were very helpful...spoke good English.

Review 25:The main minus of the hotel is that at least part of the rooms look out over a nearby tenement building so the sun cannot reach the windows. But, given the cost per night this should not be a major issue for a traveller who only needs a bed and a shower at the end of a day spent in the marvelous Palermo.

Review 26:Hotel Europa is budget hotel with a 5 star location. It's sited on a street adjacent to Via della Liberta, Palermo's Champs-Élysées, basically the most elegant avenue in the modern part of the city. It is decent and clean, though it's not meant for someone who intends to spend much time inside the room (really, why whould you do that while in Sicily?). Safe indoor parking is available right across the hotel at a conveniently discounted rate for hotel's clients.

Review 27:The room service was a bit on the average side in terms of filling up the fridge. Breakfast is also average and could be better.

Review 28:The staff is the first thing that attracts you. Very nice and friendly staff. The location is pretty central. The room even had a small balcony and it was in general comfortable.

Review 29:The cleanness of the room was awful, dust everywhere, black hairs on the ground also in the bathtub. Room was smelly.

Review 30:Located at a quiet street, close to bus stop, walking distance to city center

Review 31:The employee called the room while we slept, on the night of departure, when we would have to wake up at 4 in the morning, to hinting that we had not paid, only after much insistence and after showing the receipt that is given up, unacceptable!

Review 32:Price, breakfast, location

Review 33:The cleaning of the room was very poor indeed - I observed dust and hair and and dirty mirrors upon arrival. Breakfast selection is poor, the croissants were fresh on 2 mornings of 10; no fresh fruit even. Everything there is to eat, is sweet, not even a boiled egg, but I guess its classic for the region.

Review 34:the location is very good- 10 minutes to railway station by bus, its about 4 km, bus stop is at doorstep. It is also very good connection from the same stop to Mondello beach. Region is quiet at night, gives a good night rest. The hotel staff is superb- very good service, customer oriented, friendly, gives good advice for sights to see and modes of transport to get there.

Review 35:Very disappointing breakfast - no chese, no basic bread ( only not stuffed croissants and small bread rolls ), no ham or any other meat, only apples from fruits, no eggs, no coffie machine ( only ready coffie in thermos ) and no glass for juice ( only plastic one-time-use cups ), most of the breakfast products are sweet and not very good to start a day for a tourist ! Walls in the hotel are very thin and not sound isolated, you can hear everything and everyone in the surrounding rooms. Creaky bed. Only one internet router in hotel and it was placed in the ground floor at the reception making the internet connection impossible to use at the 2 or higher floors !!! I had to go downstairs near reception if i wanted to surf in the internet.

Review 36:The hotel is located nearby one of the main streets in Palermo with many bus lines including the one to airport. 5 minutes walk to Carrefour supermarket and easily walking distance to many main monuments in Palermo. Some of the hotel staff members spoke very little english but that still did not prevent them from being very nice and helpful to us. Room was quite big.

Review 37:The only minus is that breakfasts are not included, so you may either have them at the hotel for extra money (10 eiro), or go to the nearest cafe, which is not far, quite good and, of course, you will not have to pay 10 eiros there.

Review 38:The location is great as the hotel is within 5 minute walk to the Central Railway Station, which means you can easily get both to the center of the city by the underground and to any of two Milan airports by buses which also go from the station

Review 39:- Thin walls - Could hear neighbours or cleaning staff in the morning - View - facing block of flats - Not easy wifi access

Review 40:- Great location - close to town and bus routes - Very nice and helpful staff - 24h reception - Breakfast was ok but not too varied

Review 41:Wifi doesn't wotk in rooms, only at reception

Review 42:Good and not expensive hotel

Review 43:Aircondition missed

Review 44:Perfect location (to historic centre and beach)

Review 45:No wifi in the room Room is so small and smelly

Review 46:Only location and there is 24h open Carrefour near to the hotel

Review 47:Hotel looked very old and worn-down. Old furniture and rug.

Review 48:Right in the old town. Pretty cheap. Staff helpful.

Review 49:excellent location

Review 50:Noisy room on 4th floor onto street. Could hear neighbouring rooms, and street noise.

Review 51:Friendly service-large room with mini bar phone wi fi tv. Great breakfast selection. Known to bus and taxi drivers.

Review 52:breakfast,furniture is little old

Review 54:Same breakfast every day

Review 55:Location, cleanliness

Review 56:The hotel is at the quiet place. The staff is very kind.

Review 59:For breakfast were only crousans and jogurt, and bad coffee, for future it will be good desicion maybe some cheese .

Review 60:Location

Review 61:Thin walls, which allowed me to hear next door's bathroom usage

Review 62:breakfast, spacious room, air conditioning, good bathroom

Review 63:The room was very small

Review 64:The hotel was well located. Had to check in early morning around 4 am and there was somebody behind reception

Review 65:air -con uncontrollable!

Review 66:location was good

Review 67:Bad wireless on upper floors and just sweet breakfast

Review 68:Good location, price and staff

Review 69:Thin walls, poor breakfast

Review 70:Location and services are good. Room is clean , bathroom is big enough. Good value for money.

Review 71:Stanza poco pulita e poco silenziosa.

Review 72:Posizione, cortesia dello staff, colazione.

Review 73:Great location, Great personel.

Review 74:No wifi in room. Only main public area of hotel, no hot water for shower.

Review 75:Location, cleaniness, helpfull staff, large room

Review 76:Blankets had discussing stains on them, the cups in the bathroom were dirty and so was the carpet.

Review 77:At the end they let me down...

Review 78:breakfast was OK Location was good. Staff were OK.

Review 79:Being a hotel, the staff were more impersonal. During the first night, there was quite a bit of noise which began about 2 am. It sounded like people coming back to the hotel. It went on for quite some time.

Review 80:The breakfasts were very good and ample. You could eat as much as you wished. The location was easy for a bus to the historic centre and there were restaurants in close proximity.

Review 81:The hotel has great location for those visiting Palermo; The room was spotless clean and had plenty of space; The breakfast was better than in any other Italian hotel I've ever been - including the probably best croissants in the world (of cereals with honey)!

Review 82:The reception staff didn't speak much English so we were hesitant to ask for tourist information as we would have done in other hotels

Review 83:Our room was on a high floor with a balcony which was lovely for soaking up the sun!

Review 84:Room was pretty dark, old-fashion and noisy.

Review 85:Location was great, quite nice staff, but some of them are non english speakers, rooms are clean, there's room service every day.

Review 86:just the wi fi only worked now and again, but when it worked it was perfect, in the foyer it worked at all times it was just hit and miss in the room.

Review 87:Location was spot on, so easy to sight see on foot and get transport from, nice rooms with comforts free safe, fridge, hair dryer, bathroom condiments, massive bed, free wi fi (was a bit hit and miss)

Review 88:location was spot on, so easy to sight see on foot and get transport from, nice rooms with comforts free safe, fridge, hair dryer, bathroom condiments, massive bed, free wi fi (was a bit hit and miss)

Review 89:Rude staff, uncomfortable bad, old fashioned hotel, electric problemswe don't have power in our room, noise aircondition when it works the power

Review 90:Nothing, maybe the location only.

Review 91:The room smells. Beds are old. Electricity does not work properly (twomornings the electricity switched off and we had to pack our luggage indarkness). Air conditioner did not work. Breakfast did not includecheese or meat (even eggs), only cakes of different kinds.

Review 92:The location is good, rooms are quite spacious, all the rest leaves muchto be desired.

Review 93:-Poor internet signal -too much sweet things for breakfast, and the sweet things were too sweet

Review 94:-Great location, easy access to everywhere in the city, only two minutes walking to bus stop to the airport and mondello beach, which is only 20 minutes away by bus. -staff very welcoming -stayed at room 48, which is very spacious

Review 95:There was no hot water! The room smelt of cigarettes, it was disgusting. glad we only had to overnight here quickly!

Review 96:Good location near to shopping and good area of Palermo.

Review 97:- Breakfast was very poor; - No chairs available in the room; - There were problems with the payment as the credit card reader is not always working;

Review 98:- Clean rooms; - kind staff;

Review 99:We booked a non-smoking room with balcony. None of them were provided. We asked the receptionist at arrival to get another room, but he couldn't give us one, because they were full.

Review 100:The location was very good. Also the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and neat.

Review 101:Air conditioner could have been more efficient.

Review 102:Good cleanliness and spacious room, free safe, nice toilet. Very handy do get around, buses to everywhere. Supermarket just beside and walking distance to main attractions.

Review 103:That the power in our hotelroom turns off when we leave and only turns on, when we enter the room again Wi-fi in our room was okay

Review 104:Everything The variety of breakfast New, clean towels every day Minibar (minifridge) in the hotelroom 24/7 check-in/-out The excellent location Friendly staff Wi-fi in the lobby was excellent

Review 105:The wifi connection wasn't the most reliable. It kept coming in and out but that's the only thing I can think of.

Review 106:Room was basic but very large, comfortable and really everything and anything you could want/need on a budget holiday. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Review 107:We spent 10 days in this hotel and it was the worst stay in the life. Room was very dirty, full of dust and there was a strange smell (stench) in the room, there were also very old and ugly furniture. During the ten-day stay the floor was cleaned only once. Room was very loud. We heard everything that was going on in the rooms next door. Moreover, even we had closed windows we heard every noise from the outside. The breakfast was awful. There were only croissants. Personnel don't speak English well. They understood only simple phrases in English. We strongly advise NOT to book this hotel. It was the most ugly and dirty room we have ever seen.

Review 108:Noisy badly isolated rooms, breakfast is horrible (only sweet stuff, no cheese, orange juice, nothing), shower went from hot too cold too often, staff was anything but thankful at checkout

Review 109:Comfortable beds and cushions, excellent location

Review 110:Smell of tobacco in room Blinds/windows didn't open (assuming for safety) so no natural light/view Bathtub had grime around caulking Air Conditioning didn't work well Wifi did not work well (bounced out regularly)

Review 111:Location: on main street/bus route to historic district/shopping area/markets Price: we got a deal through bookings.com and for the price we paid were satisfied with what we Bed and Bathroom Linens clean/good repair.

Review 112:when we checked in we found a rat in the room which is not acceptable at all in a hotel. room given was smoking at the beginning and after complaining about the rat and smoking room they changed the room and gave us another one.

Review 113:location of the hotel was really good where we could access any place in town easily

Review 114:the rooms are very noisy and any time someone opened the water or flashed the toiled it was like A plane was going to land next door

Review 115:teh staff was very friendly

Review 116:Great room with large balcony on quiet side street off of main shopping street. Very quiet room. Location is just 1 block from bus stop for airport shuttle. 20 min walk to historic sites was OK. Staff speak English and very helpful.

Review 117:The bathrooms could be better, in the first room the toilet seat was loose, in the second room the wall mount for the shower head was loose...

Review 118:The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is very good because its near the "via libertà", the main road of the city.

Review 119:smell of sulphuric gas in room. No view. Bed too soft.

Review 120:reception helpful. Internet connection in my room good. Breakfast nice. Location of the hotel excellent. Bathroom OK.

Review 121:I was shocked with such poor breakfast and plastic cups for water. I would recommend to book hotel without breakfast and go for breakfast somewhere to the downtown.

Review 122:Excellent location, very good and safe place, very close to the main city attractions. Receptionists are very friendly, rooms clean and big. On the main street near the hotel is a bus stop from where you can get to Mondello beach. Except breakfast everything was perfect! Would recommend for other travellers.

Review 123:The breakfasts were awful. The usual buffet style with packet croissants and watery jiuce. But the coffee was the worst - served in thermos jugs with the contents cold if you came late. Only fruit was tasteless apples.

Review 124:Helpful staff, large clean room, good bathroom, plenty of towels changed daily, free internet access in quiet booth in reception area

Review 125:The room was a bit oldish and I think it needs renovating, but it was very spacious so that was nice. The curtains were appalingly dirty, though and that made the room have an unclean look. But the cleaning was ok and the bed had clean sheets and the bathroom clean towels. However, the most distingushing negative feature was how dirty the cutains were.

Review 126:I likded the location, the hotel is in the centre so it is close to the major attractions of the city and shopping.

Review 127:A tipical city hotel. You dont spend much time in the hotel , it serves a purpose.

Review 128:A short walk into main area with markets & great value restaurants. Some nice eating places around corner from hotel. Good bar on xxSeptember street only stayed one night & day then picked up a car. Would definitely go back.

Review 129:My room was very dark and over looked a small coutyard. It was basic tosay the least.

Review 130:The reception staff spoke good English which is rare in Sicily. Theywere helpful too. It also has a bar which a lot of European hotelsdon't have.

Review 131:The front reception was very unfriendly. They never smiled. They did what I asked but begrudgingly. The rooms have water damage that need to be repaired. Lots of brown spots on the walls/ceilings. The hotel has no style, charm or warmth. It should be a 2-star at best.

Review 132:The location is not bad. In the commercial district near high-end shopping

Review 133:The hotel is very dated. The rooms were stuffy, despite it only being April, and were not at all pleasant to stay in. Dirty old red carpets in the room and around the hotel. The walls were paper thin, making the stay even more unpleasant. The 'double' bed was actually two single beds put together, with sinking mattresses and lumpy pillows.

Review 134:One of the staff working at night, a young gentleman, was particularly welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic.
