Reviews for Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu
Review 1:Was real special and because we have had been the last guests, because they closed the place 2 days later. The price was special, because I estimate during season the price will be as minimum double. It was a pity that any shop etc. incl. Porto Cervo was "closed". But because we started our 30 day rountrip around mid September I learned Sardinia is closing everything if season end. For us it was fantastic as most I have any beach privately for me :)
Review 2:We loved everything, the food was incredible, the staff were so sweet and attentive. We also loved the fantastic location being on a marina with a couple of restaurants on your doorstep. Fantastic place!!!
Review 3:The Room for a 5 start hotel come on !!
Review 4:The location was perfect ! Also Breakfast , and the posibilitie to have access to one of the beautiful beach in the area Piccolo Pevero
Review 5:Very noisy during night, we did not get one full nights sleep. Although big the bed was extremely hard. We found the hotel very impersonal and all the restaurants over priced. We were thankful of our car and found a wonderful authentic restaurant away from the resort with amazing food at half the price. Loved Sardinia, but this hotel was not for us.
Review 6:Breakfast was fantastic.
Review 7:We chose the hotel for a few days of quality relaxation with good food. We got both with the added benefit of friendly and helpful staff. Definitely somewhere to visit again.
Review 8:Price of drinks and food. Distance from beach, bad attitude of staff, charging for all activities such as tennis. Poor levels of service.
Review 9:air conditioning
Review 10:Can hardly think of anything!
Review 11:Breakfast was amazing! So many to choose from and attentive staff. Prosecco they had at breakfast was also very good! The resort is very beautiful and calm. Lovely place for a relaxing holiday with a family. Nice swimming pool where it does not get too crowded. Also, the receptionist named Frederika was very friendly and helpful. Also the guest relations lady named Aleksandra was so kind and helpful with tips about the town/ and things to do.
Review 12:Everything would be just perfect, if not 3 small disadvantages: 1) No beach near the hotel. There are two private beaches away from the hotel, but there is bus running each 1 hour. First one- small at Vasca li Lischia, 2 km away only, that i didn't like ( dirty water and not really pleasant shore/ sand ) Second beach - Grande Pevero, 8 km away, 15 minutes on the bus. This beach is just wonderful in respects to white sand and blue, transperent sea. Though there is no toilet ( !!!! ) and place to change or wash yourself. Bar is quite far from the beach, so you have to go 5 minutes to the bar each time you want to drink or eat smth. 2) Poor gym. and really HOT there. Don't know, what for was to open all the windows and doors, when it was +38 outside. As well strange, working air condition + all open doors. Had such feeling that i was running in the hell... 3) No transport at all. So to go somewhere out of Poltu Quatu you have only 2 options : your car or taxi. Pls keep in mind, that for example, there is only 4 km to Porto Cervo, but taxi there and bach will cost you abt 50 euros.
Review 13:The Hotel itself is really green, super clean, beautiful comfortable and well designed. Wonderful location inside of natural fiord. Modern stylish and well equipped rooms. Though I write comments on booking.com really seldom, this hotel i highly recommend to everyone.
Review 14:The taxi service (not necessarily attributable to the hotel) is very unpredictable. We had dinner at the Patricia one evening. Ten euros to go there and thirty to come back. Such an experience does not bode well for those trying to do a very, very good job...such as you.
Review 15:The staff and their obvious commitment to the guest. With such caring people it is very easy to overlook any shortfall.
Review 16:Internet é bem ruim, só funciona no lobby. A sinalização para chegar no hotel é bem ruim, demorei muito tempo para acha-lo. Vale a pena o viajante anotar as coordenadas de GPS.
Review 17:Estrutura, piscina, quarto.
Review 18:not forward informative staff (reception) - had to find out the information ourselves. really uncomfortable beds!
Review 19:privacy, relaxed atmosphere. excellent, impeccable service from restaurants and pool staff.
Review 20:It can be very expensive if you want to get out and about and see other local towns. Reception don't provide a great deal of information about the resort and you have to find things out for yourself
Review 21:The resort is very beautiful and peaceful if you want a truly relaxing holiday. Choice of restaurants on site offers a good variety of quality cuisine. Watching the comings and goings of the yachts in the harbour is entertaining
Review 22:It is hard to describe how great this hotel is! Swimming pool is beautiful, allow you to enjoy a wonderful landscape, full of mountains around. You can have a delicious breakfast while watching the boats... We also had a massage and manicure, both services were very worth to do it. Staff seems very well trained, they are polite and helpful. Our special thanks to Viola!
Review 23:I was very disappointed with the hotels staff. I think it should be better trained. Room service was very much unfriendly as well one woman called Romina at the reception desk.
Review 24:The cleanliness of the room.
Review 25:The most important thing: The beds are too hard. Our dinner had 6 courses and 4 of them were too salty. On our remark of this fact the waiter told us that they use special sardinien salty mustard and they had more complains about that meal.. So we had to except this...... ! It is a pitty that the hotel has no "normal" shops: only exclusive things that nobody buys: only for the exclusivity, I think. The beach is 6 kilometer from the hotel and could not be found by the map of the hotel. Conclusion: to earn and have 5 stars gives the obligation to be as perfect as possible. The hotel can be improved in quality to be perfect.
Review 26:The building and the situation is beautiful. We have seen and stayed in several beautiful hotels like the Burj al Arab in Dubai or various Sofitel hotels around the world. Location is perfect although you need a car to visit anything else. We stayed there medio September an it was very quiet in the hotel. They gave us an upgrade. The rooms are very nice; the beds are much too hard for both of us. The restaurants have perfect views. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is build in Gaudi-style with beautiful various furniture, glass, and overwelming bougainville plants.
Review 27:1) No card 'do not disturb' in the room. Threrefore constant knocking from the housekeeper thoroughout the day (when I was sick bad stayed indoors). Making a room twice a day was too much for me anyway. 2) No 'private beach' as the discription states. There are 2 beaches, each of them are 7-10 mins away by a shuttle bus. 3) Gel shower: was almost impossible to extract the actual gel from the tiny bottle.
Review 28:Everything thing was of a high standard. Hotel itself ' all the surroundings are very beautiful.
Review 29:Everyone at the hotel is very friendly and professional - nothing is too much trouble. This goes for all sections and especially the restaurant staff. The only reservation I have is that the hotel does not have its own beach but a shuttle is provided to take guests to 2 beaches where sunbeds & umbrellas are provided.
Review 30:Stay away from this place. They park you the Rolls in front of the entrance sparkling a sort of total-luxury. Reality is Poltu Qualtu has turned into a true 3 Star hotel. Despite our complaints (a list of 10) upon our 1st night, the guest relations Angie didnt do a single thing to improve our experience. Accordingly we changed hotel the subsequent nights.
Review 31:It didn't have a direct access to the beach. You have to go on a shuttle bus for the beach.
Review 32:Beautiful view and spacious rooms
Review 33:Reception very friendly and very helpful
Review 34:The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Review 35:Peace
Review 36:The reception and pool area.
Review 37:We went on a a boat trip which was incorrectly priced and incorrectly described.
Review 38:Beautiful location. Lovely hotel.
Review 39:Beautiful Location, delicious breakfast, great hotel I loved it!
Review 40:Relaxing atmosphere, good service and a fantastic choice for breakfast.
Review 41:Our bed was a bit hard.
Review 42:Everything. Tanit restaurant is the best.
Review 43:Everthing. It is an absolutely perfect hotel, service, staff. Top top top!
Review 44:Cost of local transportation
Review 45:The staff
Review 46:No public transport you really did need a car
Review 47:Breakfast on the terrace
Review 48:Great hotel and friendly stuff
Review 49:everything - Breakfast, staff, location, amenities
Review 50:Service bad. Poor gym No soap. No towels no newspaper
Review 51:Breakfast food
Review 52:prices of bar at pool
Review 53:Breakfast Location Rooms Atmosphere
Review 54:there was nothing to dislike because everything was perfect
Review 55:we liked everything about the hotel the location the staff and the comfort
Review 56:Amazing place, amazing staff
Review 57:This Hotel lived up to its five star luxury rating in every respect. Highly recommended.
Review 58:Pool, very so so
Review 59:Setting Location Nice & private
Review 60:the management were argumentative and the staff not over friendly
Review 61:the setting of the hotel is special , and convenient location but a car is a must
Review 62:Staff is terrible, we didn't feel welcomed... No chance i will go there again
Review 63:Room too small and no view
Review 64:Friendly staff and concierge Breakfast buffet Pool (also good for laps)
Review 65:one of the reasons, we decided fo r hotel Poltu Quatu, was wi-fi WHICH DOES NOT WORK OR CONNECTION OFTEN FAILED.
Review 66:See above.
Review 67:Please see our hotel report.
Review 68:Outstandingly friendly staff Amazing breakfast room Luxurious facilities Close to all of the best areas of the Costa Smeralda
Review 69:Internet worked very unstable. Usually not worked. There are no microwave and kettle in kitchenette.
Review 70:Very helpfull and good staff. Very good food on breakfast and dinner. Nice pool. Very beautiful place.
Review 71:There was no information about the hotel or the area in the room. We found the staff not very friendly
Review 72:The setting of the hotel was amazing, the rooms and the pool area very relaxing
Review 73:Early in the season, hotel was virtually emply and I was given a room on the back. The rooms had been closed for several months as the smell was reviling that
Review 74:Beautiful location, hotel, surrounding and swimming pool.
Review 75:In the summer the hotel is probably wonderful, but it had just opened for the season at Easter time and it was not really clean nor did the staff seem quite ready for guests.
Review 76:Beautiful location on a private harbor.
Review 77:No beach, nothing to do when the hotel closed (we stayed in appartment). Too expensive for those facilities.
Review 78:A very nice garden and yaht port. Nice room, grass, trees.
Review 79:Sanitairy is very dated, not compared to the price. There has not been taken any notice at our complaints after we made the first day. No towell change in aday. Beds are very hard, breakfast extremely expensive.
Review 80:Location of the poperty. Gardens Swimmingpool (not heated)
Review 81:On the weekend, we had to wait about half an hour on the queue for breakfast. In our apartment, we had a nice kitchenette. Cleaning of dishes was not included and the hotel asked 30 euros for each cleaning.
Review 82:The location, the facilities, the apartment.
Review 83:Noisy upstairs neighbours even late at night! Unable to book Bahia restaurant - tried twice including our anniversary - always full despite trying in advance.
Review 84:Nice 2 bedroomed apartment and excellent breakfast.
Review 85:You need a car to get to Porto Cervo. No beach.
Review 86:Great atmosphere, a lot of flowers. Good food in the restaurants and even great snacks at the pool. Big swimming pool. Comfortable rooms. Nothing very special, but really high class hotel.
Review 87:The restaurant is not of the same standard of the hotel &considering it is an Italian set up one would expect more as we found invarious restaurants outside
Review 88:The full set up of the hotel is excellent
Review 89:Great location and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable, a bit expensive though... You definitely need a car to get around, as the village is quite small.
Review 90:We got family rooms with bedrooms orented to main road! It's not so quiet in the night ! In general hotel service prices are overpriced. Tenis-25 EUR/H, Toast sandvich in the pool area-12 EUR, glass of prosseco-12 EUR! The rooms was cleaned with special chemicals and has some specific smell which is not so nice :(. we stayed in June, so most of the customers was with no smile and with outlook "very important for yourself"
Review 91:Modern and original hotel set on the tip of a natural fjord. Scenery is amazing. Lush gardens and greenery all around are meticulously cared for. Hotel extremely clean and staff so very friendly. Wonderful breakfast with amazing view.
Review 92:We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect! Highly recommend the half board option as the breakfast and dinner are fantastic and well worth the extra $$
Review 93:Unfortunately it was too cold to use the unheated pool (unseasonably cold/rainy spring). Also, our shower had very limited hot water and took a while to reheat. Was surprised and did not feel this was acceptable for a 5 * hotel. You also needed a car to do anything, as the hotel is very isolated (not possible to walk anywhere outside of the hotel 'village').
Review 94:It was a very charming hotel with a great location on the water (although no direct access). Facilities were clean and well maintained. We stayed there before high season and almost had the place to ourselves (May 29-June 1). We went for scuba diving and the center, which is a 2 min walk, was fabulous (Orso).
Review 95:avarage but expensive breakfast (without fresh vegetables and few fruit), requests had to be repeated to staff, unreasonably high priced wines/coctails
Review 96:good room, nice garden, port view from resturant, friendly staff
Review 97:We did not test all facilities, it was of season.
Review 98:Beautiful designed rooms. Excellent bed. Very well cleaned. Two toilets!!! Situated in an excellent place. We can highly recomend this hotel.
Review 99:There was nothing we did not like, it was the perfect holiday
Review 100:Amazing location, secluded and private, Italian charm. Recommend halfboard as the evening meals were fantastic! The staff were wonderful. Oneof the nicest hotels we have stayed in.
Review 101:Perfect location, very cozy, spectacular view. Perfect quiet base for exploring Costa Smeralda. Highly recommend the appartments, as they are scattered around the small resort and you feel like having your own private place.
Review 102:Absolutely need a car if staying over2-3days as transfer to very closeneighbouring resorts are extortionate
Review 103:Hotel setting and grounds were beautiful
Review 104:A delightful hotel in a beautiful situation. The staff were outstandingly pleasant and did everything in their power to make our stay enjoyable.Understated luxury of the best kind. We will certainly make another visit as soon as we can.
Review 105:The hotel rents a part of Grande Pevero beach, located ca. 10km from the hotel (reachable by shuttle bus or a car). The beach was a disappointment - there was no services whatsoever (shower, toilette, bar) - so we don't recommend the hotel if you want to stay on the beach. Also, staff speaks poor English - my mother does not speak Italian and had serious trouble communicating.
Review 106:Excellent location and view on the Poltu Quatu bay. Small charming area with a couple of bars, restaurants and boutiques. We enjoyed the stay at the hotel pool.
Review 107:Off season no services available
Review 108:Great place
Review 109:Gym not clean whilst not up to standard. Various machines broken.
Review 110:Pleasant staff - food
Review 111:Nothing. It was a wonderful stay.
Review 112:Outstanding location, architecture and facilities. The terrace for dinner is stunning.
Review 113:The prices
Review 114:Was very good but very expensive
Review 115:I felt the quality of dinner was mediocre for the price
Review 116:Staff were friendly and helpful
Review 117:Very nice high-end resort with the most friendly and helpful staff.
Review 118:The hotel is perfectly situated in a breathtaking location
Review 119:room was a little out of the way
Review 120:loved the grounds. the class. the beauty.
Review 121:Need more safety rails for children as there is quite a few balconys.
Review 122:Swimming pools were very nice and the staff were very helpful.
