Reviews for Hajé Restaurant de Aalscholver
Review 1:It would help with better signposting for the car park, when you arrive at the hotel. The key card for both our rooms stopped working at around 9 am even though you could stay till 11 am.
Review 2:Nice concept with the restaurant and the many vegetarian and organic options. Very different location for the rooms more or less in the middle of a lake. Just bring an umbrella for the walk to the restaurant.
Review 3:- Spiders and flies are all around the corridor. it is probably a problem all around Holland but there should be a better solution. - the room is well sealed, but first you need to make a thorough clean inside and close the door quickly. - generally it is ok.
Review 4:- Surprising location for money - very nice room on the water - facilities in the room are great for the low rate
Review 5:I book rooms on having wifi in the room, no wifi in 1st room (2 ngts), moved to another room had wifi, then came back from work to find all my belongings moved out & a family in there. Back to a room with no wifi. Is it normal Dutch practice to remove people (who've paid in advance) from their rooms without a/ telling them b/ them being there. Sorry but this is completely unacceptable in any hotel anywhere.
Review 6:Food was reasonable
Review 7:Difficult to find fault anywhere. Bring your own water kettle if you like early morning coffee- that was all.
Review 8:Excellent weekend. Comfortable accommodation, very good restaurant, or takeaway. Quiet, wifi worked. Staff friendly and helpful. Have rebooked for the sister property across the road.
Review 9:Same busy staff for the restaurant and the hotel. We had to wait for a while before getting our room.
Review 10:Beautiful location close to a natural reserve. Very good organic restaurant. Rooms confortable and clean.
Review 11:1> Location is far, far away from any city. Via google maps I knew before booking that it would be far, but didn't guess it would be this far (keeping Amsterdam city as reference). There is nothing to do in the evening except to watch TV or be in the pub in the nearby restaurant. So it is better to arrive late here and leave early. 2> Breakfast is not included in the room rate. Given the fact that there are no better options other than a small 'TAKE AWAY' kiosk selling limited stuff (sandwiches, coffee, juice, etc), if one wants to have a proper breakfast cost is 9.5 Euros. This is available in the nearby restaurant. Again breakfast is not buffet type given this price. At this price one gets a glass of fresh orange juice, 2 slices of white-bread, 2 slices or cheese, some ham/meat, butter, jam, chocolate-spread, a croissant and a cup of coffee of your choice.
Review 12:Lake and nature nearby. All modern facilities in the room. Clean. Balcony overlooking the lake.
Review 13:Nothing negative.
Review 14:Although right on the A6 like a motorway service station, the other side is a nature reserve & you can't really hear the traffic. The room with a balcony had amazing views giving an overall sense of peace and relaxation as we watched the birds in the sunshine. Staff were very helpful. Rooms beatifully decorated. Would recommend if anyone heading up to Flevoland/Lelystad.
Review 15:the room was cold, window stayed open. It's a bit noisy, especially from the outside.
Review 16:The restaurant is super cute, the staff is hyper friendly and it is such an experience to be sleeping on a lake!
Review 17:no wifi, bathroom wasn't clean and hasn't been cleaned during my 3 days stay.
Review 18:location and restaurant are very good. spacious room with balcony overlooking the water.
Review 19:Walls were thin so some disturbance caused from people next door, and feeling like we had to tip toe around when we stayed up later.
Review 20:Looking out across the ponds you wouldn't guess that the motorway was on the other side of the restaurant. I enjoyed the nature theme and the staff were very friendly.
Review 21:Nothing- everything was good.
Review 22:An excellent, clean, friendly place. Both the cabin and the restaurant were top notch! The staff were very helpful with the menu and in particular pointing out the veggie options. Food arrived in good time, freshly cooked and hot.... Very tasty.
Review 23:If you are traveling by train, without a bike, it is a little out of the way.
Review 24:Helpful staff, restaurant had tasty food, location enabled me to see the Oostvaardersplassen. I took a cab to and from the location as I was traveling by train and was without a bike. I walked the bike (fiets) paths. If one is traveling by bike, the path runs right behind this establishment.
Review 25:No air conditioning in rooms and only one small opening window, watch out for mosquitoes. Thin walls, could hear other quests. Waiting staff were a little slow and messed up our order and expected us to pay for items we had not ordered or received.
Review 26:Lovely surroundings, clean adequate facilities, excellent service from the check in staff. Brilliant value for money.
Review 27:No AC, only one tiny screened window that opens. It was too hot in there to sleep. Restaurant and take-away don't open until 7:00 on the weekends. Restaurant staff were incompetent, slow, and tried to charge us for extra things we had already changed our minds about during the ordering process. Mosquitos were swarming the room doors at night and there were dead bugs in the shower. No hair dryers in the rooms, and my towels were only changed out once in a 3 night stay. The bed was never made.
Review 28:Location was okay, but you have to go 6 km out of the way to get there from the west. Wifi worked well.
Review 29:The location is really beautiful, it is really peaceful and relaxing.
Review 30:No air conditioning. absolutely baking inside the rooms at night.not good !
Review 31:Very nice rooms over the water !
Review 32:Location and value of money
Review 33:no wi-fi in rooms, restaurant is quite expensive
Review 34:great rooms, beautiful views from our room. nice furniture, English TV, great bathroom. great food.
Review 35:Nearby highway, noisy Sound insulation from other rooms is poor Bath tub under floor-level
Review 36:Attractive layout and pricing
Review 37:We were attending the Dutch Bird Fair so the location was excellent. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful.
Review 38:Quiet location although on a major road, roomy, convenient facilities. Good comfortable sleep.
Review 39:You might get some mosquitos in the summer since you're literally on the water.
Review 40:We went to see the tulips in North Holland and needed to stay over for a night before going to Amsterdam. This waterlodge is clean and comfortable and gives a great price-quality accommodation for a 1-night stay. The restaurant is very good to be at the side of the highway, it's prepared all with fresh ingredients and the prices are fairly cheap.
Review 41:This motel is behind a service station on south bound side the A6. It is mid-way between two junctions and nearer to Almere than Lelystad and if you are travelling north you have to double back 6 km to get to the hotel. It is possible to cycle on a very good cycle path to Lelystad but it is 15 km.
Review 42:Good price and unusual set up. The rooms are on a floating platform in a small pond near a nature reserve. The staff are very helpful.
Review 43:Water whilst in the shower didn't stay warm for very long
Review 44:Great environment to go for a walk despite it being on the side of the motorway. Great value for money
Review 45:A long detour to get there if traveling East. Also a long way between junctions as it is situated on the Motorway.
Review 46:Quiet Out of the way near the Motorway
Review 47:The breakfast, not includedin the room price, can be improved.
Review 48:It's one of my favorite hotel, it's the second time here and it will not be the last. Very quite, relaxing a peacefull place near by the highway. WiFi working perfectly.
Review 49:- Mosquitos! Many mosquitos, hundreds of them! After 10 o'clock they were all over our door and as soon as we opened it, they rushed into our room. Had to kill them all because we did not feel comfortable going to sleep having so many bugs flying over our heads and, possibly, bite us. It is impossible to turn off the lights outside the rooms' doors (safety reasons I suppose) so the insects never go away. During our check in, we asked if there was any kind of mosquito repeller, they had none.
Review 50:- Nice and friendly staff, they helped us get to and return from the town with their little bus. - Beautiful location, with floating rooms, clean and quiet (except from the ducks, if they bother you). - Little shop on site for water, sodas, snacks etc. (we did not buy breakfast or lunch). - 11-12 km by bicycle from Lelystad centrum, awesome scenic route through the woods and the fields. - Fast and reliable Wi-Fi. Enough power plugs. - I would stay there again if they do something about the mosquitos (see below).
Review 51:I've asked for late check-out for 3pm which was confirmed by thereception staff. We had a brunch until 12.15pm and the room card accesswas blocked. Went back to reception and the manager which was there atthat moment said he cannot accept late check-out so he took our accesscard and send a staff to accompany us to take the baggage and toliterally supervise our packing. It was very uncomfortable to pack in 5minutes with a staff in the room (even if I asked for some privacy topack my belongings) - so for this I would vote for poor staff approach
Review 52:The room was very nice. There's a big garden and a restaurant openuntil 10pm which serves tasty food. Also a lot of parking places. It islocated near the highway but it offers a very green and detached spotwith easy access.
Review 53:There was o way of getting a breeze through the room during the hot humid night. The location was a surprise, being motorway services.
Review 54:The staff were great and the food was surprising good for a motorway services station location! The location of the rooms, on a pontoon over the large pond was fine except in the 30 degrees of temperature when the insects were everywhere. But to wake up to a very pleasant view and the birds was a nice start to the day.
Review 55:Difficult to access without your own transport. The restaurant is ok rather than great.
Review 56:We arrived soaking wet and tired aftwer a days cycling, the staff could not have been friendlier, they sat us by the fire and gave us coffee while we checked in. The rooms are lovely, peaceful and open out onto a lake, a bargain for this price.
Review 57:The restaurant is nice but the food in normal, not bad at all, but not so good.
Review 58:It is closed to many places visit, to the natural park and near to the capital. Also, there are many places to visit in the area
Review 59:Everything closes at 22h and there is no-one there anymore to help you, not even at the gas station. What does a client do in case he accidentally leaves the key in the room later in the evening?
Review 60:Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Being close to nature. Free and fast WiFi.
Review 61:Far from Amsterdam around 35 km, only other near by Resturant is McDonald's but you have to drive 15km because of the duel carriageway, no super markets near buy, Resturant closes 22:00 hours, no coffeeor tea making facilities in the room, only couple of Swan and Couple ofducks are around, mattress could be firmer people who have back or spineproblem will see the difference Some part of the walk way are gravelledpeople with walking difficult , wheel chair users or people with walkingsticks find a little bit difficult to walk around
Review 62:Great country side, hotel ark is in the shallow water ways, verytranquil place, house keeping was good towell changed every day, hotelResturant serve decent food but expensive for the quality also they havea take away shop closes much early than the Resturant easy access fromthe motorway , it is best for people who want to visit places nearLelysted. Staff ans the managers are very helpfull, and try to give youa very placent stay, bed room have a great view to the waterways and thecountry side, Total fuel station is few hundreds meters away, carparking is plenty, Disable people can use a gravelled car parking spacejust few yards from Hotel Ark if available (6-7 Cars)
Review 63:- Only accessible from one site of the highway;- The serving of the breakfast took a bit long, luckily we had time.
Review 64:- Nice rooms;- Organic shower gel and soap; - Nice restaurant, with enough choice, also vegetarien; - Good breakfast; - Good price.
Review 65:Good food, all biologisch but sauce was from package, expectation was fresch.
Review 66:Staff, location, price
Review 67:- Wind noise (creaking roof)
Review 68:- Polite staff - Good location with excellent lake-view (good place for having a beer) - Double bed
Review 69:Location and accessibility

Review 73:room design
Review 74:No bath mats
Review 75:The Location of the room
Review 76:Room was not cleaned and toilet roll etc was not replenished every day.
Review 77:Beautiful setting. Quiet environment. Clean room.
Review 78:comfy beds, peacfull even given how close it is to the main road. Good food at the restaurant. friendly staff
Review 79:returning to the hotel after leaving due to being no comunication from one side of the autobahn to the other.
Review 80:Too many mosquitos in the evening and night!!! No way to open the windows, no fresh air....
