Review 1：When we last stayed overnight at Grotta Azzura 8 years ago, we thoroughly enjoyed the generosity of the Bianconi family, the food and the people in this walled town. This time, we stayed longer knowing that we would be spoiled by the town, the food and the hospitality of the family. We were not disappointed by the warm welcome - Nonna Bianconi remembered us from last time! The food at both the Granaro and Vespasia restaurants are to be recommended and breakfast was once again a delight! This time, there was wifi as a bonus! The reception staff made sure we were on time for our Norcia Underground tour - a must if you are staying long enough. Vespasia was our choice for a special celebration. Wonderful location, spectacular food and atmosphere expected of a Michelin starred restaurant. Although we hadn't informed the staff, we received such attentive service, it was as if they were aware - a true indication of quality service. Would we drive 3 hours from Rome again to visit Grotta Azzura in Norcia? Yes. Definitely.

Review 2：This is a wonderful hotel in an old building, full of character. It is located right in the centre of Norcia, but with parking quite close by.The staff were really helpful and the room was comfortable and beautifully equipped with traditional furniture and a very modern bathroom. The breakfast was superb. I would strongly recommend staying here

Review 26：Bed was a little on the hard side and the room was really small, which is rather normal in Italy. Access for the little walk out balcony is through a window that you have to REALLY duck to get back in...I have a huge dent in my head to prove it.

Review 31：1) Beds and pillows were HARD. I'm used to living overseas (9 years and counting now) and we've travelled alot (38 countries and counting) but this was the firmest bed and pillow we've ever slept on. To the staff's credit, they did give us softer pillows after requesting them. 2) Noise. Fire alarm went off 3 times during the night - things will happen, but no reduced rate for the night or anything. The cause of the alarm you ask? It was one of the staff smoking. But more than that was the thin doors and you could hear everyone outside or when people were moving things around.

Review 32：1) Location, location, location. It's right in the heart of the city. 2) Staff was very friendly - but you got the feeling they were true salesmen all the time. Couldn't quite trust them fully without thinking they were pushing something.

Review 39：The attention of all the staff to my comfort. I was treated as a human being throughout which is not always the case in hotels. Food was was excellent and the waiters were superbly professional as well as being friendly. I went half board which meant a limited choice at dinner ;next time I visit I will go a la carte - it looked delicious. On my last day I had to leave the hotel at 2.00am and amazingly the joint owner was there to send me off. It`s a place where they care in a special way.
