Reviews for Relais & Chateaux Palazzo Seneca

Review 1:Heating in the room was difficult to control.

Review 2:A beautifully restored palace. A good restaurant, although it was a shame that only 2 tables were occupied.

Review 3:Very disappointed in the Restaurant. The meal was expensive and uneven. The setting is beautiful but the dinner was very average. Not worth the money, sad to say.

Review 4:The location was excellent. The hotel was wonderful and the staff was excellent. All the rooms are different so check them out. The renovations is fabulous a blend of the old and new. The breakfast was the best we add in our entire two week trip and afternoon tea a delight.

Review 5:Palazzo Seneca has been throughout a great experience. The staff, the breakfast, the historical building perfectly renewd, the facilities, the restaurant, the willingness to help for a perfect stay, the family owning the hotel: everything went far beyond our expectations (which were high). Reasonable in price too for this class of hotel! Well definetly be back!

Review 6:Wifi did not work in the room. The general toilets were not all proper and lack of service staff in the bar.

Review 7:Building is nice, location in town centre is great. The restaurant is excellent with kind staff and service. Breakfast is great and compleet!

Review 8:The WIFI did not work in the room to start with but we were offered another room where WIFI did work. We were just too tired to move after a 125km cycle. Spa a bit small and dark; shame it is in the basement. Preferred to venture outside to relax instead.

Review 9:Friendly staff Excellent tasting menu with matched wines Proximity to centre of town Care taken over storage of our bicycles

Review 10:Great relaxing atmosphere and great staff - Andrea was fantastic - very helpful with wine, food, and sight seeing recommendations! All of which were excellent!!!! Our stay here was a very relaxing break between a just completed week in Florence and upcoming week in Rome.

Review 11:Parking is too far away. For a 5-star hotel, they should have valet service. They however will charge you 10 euros each time if you want them to park the car. Otherwise, it will be a 10 minutes walk from the parking to the hotel. They won't offer help even when check in and check out.

Review 12:Location is good. Just next to the square and everything.

Review 13:Rooms themselves are relatively weak point: a bit inconsistent in size and setup within the same category, some with terrace, some without.

Review 14:Very nice old building, beautifully restored. A private hotel with excellent food, great service and a very friendly owner.

Review 15:Wow! Where to start? Perhaps by stating that Palazzo Seneca is one of the finest Relais et Chateaux which I've encountered and, given their affiliation criteria, that's quite a statement. It's worth visiting if only to observe the fourth and fifth generations of the Bianconi family evidence what can be accomplished with their hotels, their restaurants and, perhaps most importantly, with their community through competence, hard work, omnipresence, creativity and entrepreneurship. We long to return.

Review 16:Very nice location, excellent hotel and restaurant, very good breakfast with all kinds of home made products). It was our second time in the hotel and we would love to come back again!

Review 17:It was a bit hard to find.

Review 18:The staff were so helpful. They took the time to go through the property and explain all of the wonderful rooms. The books that they had on display and the rooms to sit and read them in were beautiful. The town is amazing, we had so much fun visiting all the small shops.

Review 19:there was nothing to dislike except having to leave

Review 20:Service and advice was excellent from front office staff. Best breakfast we have had in 5 weeks in Italy spacious, well appointed, clean room location just a wfew steps from the main piazza

Review 21:Nothing... We lolved everything.

Review 22:Not to say anything against Norcia, as it is wonderful. The staff at Palazzo Seneca are beyond excellent... they care and make sure your stay is sublime. This is from parking your car in a medieval town with realy, really tight streets, to advising you brilliantly on day trips. The hotel itself is simply beautiful.

Review 23:Helpful staff, Knowledge able truffle hunt guide, amazing food and wine at the restaurant, proximity to sights, services, (hairdresser, pharmacy, bank), and produce outlets, excellent breakfast featuring local produce and beautiful attention to detail with gorgeous interiors.

Review 24:Breakfast was the same every day for the week that we stayed: some attention to variety would be good: suggest some hot dishes eg., Italian spinach rolls instead of the same types of cakes each day

Review 25:Attentive staff who assisted with an urgent medical problem Loved the two room services each day Enjoyed dinner at Vespasia and band that played: great atmosphere

Review 26:Parking, gourmet restaurant was not so gourmet.

Review 27:The clean rooms, the efficient friendly staff, the caring owner, the wonderful breakfast, the location within the town.

Review 28:The WiFi wasn't strong enough, not something you would expect from a four star hotel.

Review 29:Very very stylish elegant hotel in an old completely renovated building in a lovely town. Beautiful room with lots of space, excellent breakfast. The hotel gave a very welcoming feeling.

Review 30:One of the best places to stay in. A beautiful place with an excellent location steps away from the main square. Clean, large rooms, very friendly and professional service . We were given a tour of the palace to make us fill at home. Fantastic breakfast.

Review 31:Nothing.

Review 32:What a wonderful charming hotel! Excellent location! Friendly Staff. Elegant spacious rooms. Will go back anytime.

Review 33:Very chic, beautifully restored property

Review 34:The restaurant menu far to fussy for our taste.

Review 35:Lovely quality hotel with perfect combination of modern design in a well maintained old building.

Review 36:Amazing breakfast and restaurant, nice library and relaxing area by the fireplace

Review 37:Bedroom could have been larger.

Review 38:Location, building, helpful staff, general ambience

Review 39:The staff went beyond any expectation. They helped us celebrate our anniversary in a friendly big way.

Review 40:The wifi hardly worked, if at all, in the room. On the corridor it does.

Review 41:This was the 4th time I stayed at this hotel. This is my favourite place.

Review 42:Restaurant and staff, wonderful local food and wine. Staff very knowledgable and helpful.

Review 43:The atmosphere and professionalism of the owners and staff

Review 44:Great hospitality. A lot of attention to the small large and small details for an excellent atmosphere

Review 45:Nothinbg

Review 46:bedroom Nos.300 could of been bigger with a seating area. Poor lighting for reading.

Review 47:Excellent Bathroom, but the bath needed a soap tray.

Review 48:Exceptional breakfast.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Everything was well organized and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Review 51:Truly 5 star. Incredible restaurants. Best breakfast you will ever have..Everything is locally sourced and natural.

Review 52:Parking!

Review 53:Fantastic service Friendly staff Excellent breakfast

Review 54:nothing

Review 55:everything...Beautiful rooms, amazingly decorated, great breakfast, old building...

Review 56:Very quiet and relaxing. Fabulous restaurant, Valet parking.

Review 57:The area was similar to Switzerland...mountainous. The town itself was in a walled area and close to everything...pizza, truffles, special sausages, and more truffles. Friendly folks. Yes, a bit touristy, but a decidely different change from Tuscany. The hotel was a jewel. Their restaurant food-great. Hard to get to from Roma, but worth the trip. Good value.

Review 58:All around best hotel of the honeymoon. Rustic/modern/luxe decor. The concierge was extremely accommodating from the minute we walked in. Great location just off the main square. Parking is a 10 min walk through town, but no qualms. Fantastic breakfast, held in same spot as Vespasia. Didn't hurt that Norcia is an incredible, off beaten path town to visit.

Review 59:Nothing - although just be aware parking is not on site - only a short walk though.

Review 60:Very pretty slighly touristy little town. Hotel was upmarket and spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast. We would thoroughly recommend and indeed hope to return in the autumn.

Review 61:If you are travelling to Norcia in the midst of beautiful Umbria, this is the place you cannot afford not to stay in. With an excellent location steps away from the main square, a gourmet restaurant, beautiful, clean, large rooms, friendly professional service and the beautify of the hotel this is a place to write home about...and to return to again and again.

Review 62:A little too fussy.

Review 63:This accommodation was topnotch. A little pretentious, but I would choose that over the alternative. Gorgeous room and facility. Great location directly in the center and fantastic bathroom and shower!

Review 64:Parking is difficult for long stays.

Review 65:Palazzo Seneca is located in the heart of Norcia right off the main piazza. Beautiful building and rooms at a fair price. Good breakfast and restaurants. Friendly staff and owner.

Review 66:The room was cold and we could not turn any heating on. We booked a suite and found that the small double rooms had a balcony and we did not and the room was not that much bigger.

Review 67:The Hotel was quiet an peaceful with friendly staff and locally sourced food - amazing restaurant and small spa to use after a day's walking

Review 68:We had an incredible stay. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The breakfast was outstanding..especially the omlettes with shaved truffles. The staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help with travel questions.

Review 69:We were really disappointed with the hotels fine dining restaurant. The staff marched around like soldiers and displayed the food under its metal covers with flair and drama which was not commensurate with the quality of the food. This was overpriced and lacking in flavour. We were looking forward to a taste of truffles but they were unimpressive. We were then told these were not the best ones which were now frozen or vacuum packed . Our advice is stay at the hotel and eat elsewhere.

Review 70:We liked the hotel itself some of the staff were helpful and friendly . The reception rooms were most elegant .

Review 71:An uncomfortably small room. The tiniest of bathrooms which was pretty useless. Small annoyances such as a light that did not work. Not at all up to Relais & Chateaux standards except in terms of prices.

Review 72:Not much apart from the location.

Review 73:This was an amazing place to stay that had come highly recommended by a friend in NZ, the rooms were gorgeous and the food an outstanding culinary experience. We were given a tour of the palace by the owner and felt part of the family, a truly unique place to stay and worth the drive. We listened to the monks do the last chant of the day which was incredible. Norcia is an untouched lovely little town.

Review 74:Staff is surperb and they speak English well. Hotel is managed by owners and professionally run. Absolutely clean and comfortable rooms. Wonderful location and scenery. Benissimo! Sehr, sehr gut!

Review 75:Parking was impossible and we had to store the car about 1/2 mileaway. The restaurant was chaotic and the chairs too low and veryuncomfortable. Every time we needed some help, even to order a meal, wehad to search the building.

Review 76:The hotel building is very old and it has a charming character. Thestaff were helpful. The town is very well located for exploring thePian Grande and hilltop villages of Umbria and Norcia is interestingin itself.

Review 77:Our room was over the front door; we were woken up early by a noisy group of guests departing the hotel. Adjusting the temperature in the room was a challenge; we eventually found a comfortable level.

Review 78:Staff was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The palazzo is beautifully restored and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous--incredible choice of sweet and savory foods, attentive staff and unrushed.

Review 79:Absolutely stunning hotel Very knowledgeable and friendly staff Hotelrestaurant was incredible - expected to get a Michelin star Beautifulrooms Lovely communal rooms - library, lounge etc Family-run hotel, sovery friendly and charming but also professional Great location in themiddle of Norcia, but quiet and peaceful

Review 80:Extremely disappointing food for a Michelin star, lacking atmosphere inthe restaurant, our waitress however was excellent and handled ourgentle complaints very well. Non attentive staff at breakfast ( we werealmost ignored). Clearly a dedicated family business, great enthusiasmand passion. We had anticipated a special evening as our principalreason for traveling to Norcia was to stay at Palazzo Seneca and enjoywhat the Michelin star restaurant would provide.

Review 81:Friendly and helpful staff on arrival, lovely environment, good locationin a beautiful town.

Review 82:The downside of a centuries old building in a medieval town is that therooms are quite dark. Some additional lighting would have been welcome,as would tea-making facilities and somewhere to dry clothes! I like togo running and washing my kit was impractical as it took ages to dry.

Review 83:Excellent location in the centre of Norcia. A very comfortable hotelwith friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and a lovelygarden to enjoy it in. We had a slight problem with our shower and thestaff sorted it out speedily and with no fuss. They also helped us sortout transport as public transport is all but non-exiatent. Having accessto the fantastic pool at their sister hotel down the road was brilliant- adult only swimming lanes! What a treat! And being able to lie out inthe sun by the other pool was also great, allowing us to have the bestof bith worlds at the 'traditional' Palazzo Seneca while enjoying thefacilities at their sister hotel.

Review 84:Lack of parking nearby a slight inconvenience .

Review 85:lived up to the reputaion of Relais & Chateaux , based our booking on past reviews and were not disappointed.
