Reviews for Golden Rose Hotel
Review 1:Nothing in particular, other than slightly shabby neighborhood. Probably not where I'd want to stay for a beach holiday.
Review 2:Fine place to stay in transit for one night. Honestly, we came in late at night and left early in the morning, so we don't know much about it. At least they sent us off to a good restaurant. Comfortable and clean enough.
Review 3:The area where the hotel is located is not far from the beach but in a zone quite disordered (see people quarrying and fighting at least twice during the 5 days there). Wifi does not work all the time, the hot water in the shower is not stable.
Review 4:The staff makes their best to satisfy our needs. That's great.
Review 5:As smokers we do not mind but the hotel is smoker-friendly.
Review 6:For money you pay you cannot get better service in Aqaba. Pleasant and helpful staff, clean rooms, some of them with a sea and downtown overview and balcony, comfortable beds.
Review 7:Almost none except that the floor of the shower collapse which was an accident.
Review 8:Location is very good near to everything, the city is small and you can reach almost everywhere by walking. Staff is helpful and provid you with all needed.
Review 9:staff very friendly helping us to arrange pretty much everything since a diveshop to good and cheap restaurants and transportation to Petra and around.
Review 10:The staff was amazingly helpful. We started our trip in Jordan from Akaba and got a lot of useful tips and ideas from the staff. They also organised a stay in a bedouin camp for us which was one of the best parts of our trip!
Review 11:Centrally located, great staff (gave me tips on not getting ripped off by taxi drivers), very comfortable, incredible value for the price, a welcome break from hostels.
Review 12:Would have been nice to have a breakfast option at the hotel but retardants are so close it doesn't really matter
Review 13:Really great staff who can help you with all trips etc - we got a taxi to Wadi Rum where they waited for 4 hours and then took us onto Wadi Masa for 75 JD. That saved us so much time and wouldn't have been much more in buses (which has a very limited service)- plus the wadi rum your is only 25 JD each although the jeep is a little rough around the edges it's all about the landscape
Review 14:N/A
Review 15:Jane is a great host, and the hotel is a wonderful mixing pot of different nationalities and personalities. My room was tastefully decorated in a Bedouin tent style, as was the eating area which made for a truly authentic experience. Free shuttles to/from the Visitor centre were very useful and much appreciated. The breakfast was traditional Arabic style, and the price was very good. Thoroughly recommended!!
Review 16:Sometimes wifi didn't work very well
Review 17:Great value for money, in the heart of Aqaba, very friendly and helpful staff, close to some good restaurants and atm machines, far from the nice beaches of South Beach Aqaba but there is a free shuttle you can take if you go to Berenice Park (well, it is included in your price), very comfortable rooms, very clean, TV has soooo many channels lol
Review 18:Bed sheet was dirty Bed was too hard
Review 19:Good samsung a/c Nice staff New and clean bathroom Good facilities Nice smell It has a few boards and shelfs
Review 20:We had a little trouble figuring out the air conditioner, but once it kicked in it was great.
Review 21:Hotel was in a great location by the bus station and a main shopping area. Desk clerk was very helpful, and recommended a great restaurant and other info. The room was very clean and spacious.
Review 22:The neighborhood is near a low budget boardwalk along the public beach. The area is not friendly to westerners! Stay out of this neighborhood unless all women are wearing a hijab and speak Arabic.
Review 23:Clean hotel with friendly reception in an otherwise seedy part of town.
Review 24:Rather far from the beach, air conditioner in the rooms is not strong enough given the heat.
Review 25:Staff was very kind and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is quite central, if you're looking to stay in the city.
Review 26:We had a lovely stay at Golden Rose. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the hotel itself is very quiet and clean. A very big thank you to everyone at Golden Rose and we look forward to staying there during our next trip to Aqaba.
Review 27:the A/C was not working well, but IO didn't need it much.
Review 28:The room and the bathroom are very clean and the hotel is so close to the center of the city and the public bus station. You can go to anywhere from there.
Review 29:Would be good to have some breakfast options. Even if its just a menu from neraby cafe with food delivered to your room. Only tea, coffee, and other drink available. But it s close to everything , so not hard to go out to eat.
Review 30:The staff are very friendly. Fuad and Idris arranged late reservations, helped with travel planning, and generally made sure my stay was the best possible.
Review 31:Its realy in the center of everything, you can walk to beach promenade in minutes or historical sites or restaurants 4-5 min walk any which way you go.. Front desk is more then helpfull apsolutley everybody speaks good english and will go out of their way to help you with transport praces advice anything...
Review 32:- not much...pretty happy
Review 33:- wifi was blazing fast...when working. Hit almost 15MB/sec at times! - very close to restaurants and downtown. - very reasonable prices - all staff were super friendly and helpful.
Review 34:quiet، small and simple hotel which is suitable for conservative families. the location is hard to find but it is in an old area in the market center, I suggest to put some signs around. The rooms are wide enough, clean and very simple furniture, I suggest to add kettle to make coffee or tea. the services against the money are very satisfied, and the level of the hotel should be grade to 3 stars :)
Review 35:They didn't tell that male&female cannot stay in the same room so we booked one room for three..after arrive we need to book another room which cost extra
Review 36:staff is very nice. comfortable stay and room is clean. as we were driving by ourselves so not sure about the location.seems not far to the seaside
Review 37:Staff were welcoming and helpful. Hotel was very clean and the room we had was quiet, despite a downtown location. This is not a resort hotel, but out of town beaches are relatively easily accessible.
Review 38:I barely understand the reason of not having free wifi (3JD/night). In our case they didn't charge us but still i think this should not be a topic anymore. There is no breakfast.
Review 39:Location is quite central but not at the best street. The staff was very helpful. The price was also reasonable.
Review 40:Location - side street with views over a rubbish dump. Room had a window on the wall and had a funny smell from the bathroom. Horrible lights inside - it was simply dark all the time. Towels looked like used for decades. Toilet door was just a foldable door making lot of noise by opening. TV had only arabic stations. Staff seemed not to care about guests at all and was smoking while handling guests at reception. Wifi only at reception. No breakfast facilities. Not even a coffee or tea. No idea why such good opinion by other travevellers. Only advisable for backpackers due to price.
Review 41:It is clean.
Review 42:Unfortunately there has been a recent change of management structure within the hotel. For a few years a large group of us used this hotel as the perfect getaway, especially while waiting for flights. However new management structures banned us from congregating in rooms, banned friends waiting for flights to join us in rooms, banned the mixing of sexes within rooms, and banned the drinking alcohol within the establishment. Sadly these new rules have nothing to do with noise or disruption to other guests, as we have always been respectful, rather the rules are based upon ideology. Nevertheless, I fully respect the right of the owners to set such rules, however it sadly means that this hotel is no longer appropriate for groups of 'western' friends looking for a hang-out in Aqaba. This is a real shame as this has been our preferred location for many, many visits. Visits alone, in pairs, and in groups. I wish the new management the best of luck. They have a great hotel, and I wish them well. Unfortunately our circle is no longer welcome and as such we will not be visiting again. Goodbye Golden Rose. We leave many glorious memories behind with you.
Review 43:We used to love this place. I still feel that the rooms are exceptional value.
Review 44:I cant' See any thing bad in this place.
Review 45:Great bed in the room. Clean room. Close to bus station-2 min by foot, to shops-2 mins, to restaurants -2 mins. Every thing very close. Bathrom ok.
Review 46:I think it would have been helpful if the hotel has a more conspicuous signboard. It took me a while to look for its main entrance. The toilet in my room also overflowed on the last day of my stay. I informed the hotel management about this and they said they would fix it. Although I was not greatly bothered by it, the area in which the hotel is located could get a little noisy due to the shops next to the hotel.
Review 47:I stayed for a night at Golden Rose hotel and I thought it was money well spent. For a start, I got a rather good rate from Booking.com given the convenient location of the hotel, and for the money I was paying, I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and comfortable my room was. Apart from that I had a wonderful room with an amazing sea view and a balcony where I could indulge in the beauty of the city and sea. There is also free WiFi in the lobby and the receptionists were very polite, nice and helpful. They helped me arrange for my trip to Tala Bay and a ride on the Neptune submarine and even called to check if I had arrived at Tala Bay. Idris, one of the receptionist was so sweet that he allowed me to check into my room a little earlier than the standard 2pm check after learning that I had been on a long bus ride.
Review 48:needs more attention for general cleaning in the room.
Review 49:I like the location very close to down town, I definitely recommended this hotel for visitor the price was good .
Review 50:Very friendly staff that take their time to help you or explain everything you wanna know about Aqaba or Jordan. Clean spacious rooms. I had one in third floor with a balcony with view to the Red Sea. If you want they clean every day and they really do a good job. The staff also helped me so i could do some laundry, which was very helpful as the expected temperature and the kind of clothes i Packed did not completely match. The location is also really good. Like mentioned in earlier reviews the street of the hotel is not very interesting. But shops are just 1-2min walk so its no issue. All in all a really good experince both from Jordan and the Golden Rose hotel
Review 51:- There's no arrow showing qiblah especially for muslim to pray - there's no prayer mat( sajdah) -no tissue in room - the location is not easy to be found by us and even the taxi driver.
Review 52:just nice, got to see the scenery through the window.
Review 53:Second visit to the Golden Rose. Even better than the first time. Fundamentally glorious staff. Went out of their way to help even when I changed my plans! I love these guys and will use their hotel again when I return to Aqaba.
Review 54:Its a fairly basic hotel located in a random side street. No concerns for safety really just that it wont impress your travel companions or anyone else.
Review 55:Just as we checked in we were guided to arguably the two best local restaurants in Aqaba. The staff continued to be excellent throughout, offering to mail our postcards out a couple of days later at the end... the view from the hotel is quite nice and the location is very convenient.
Review 56:window would not close in a room with sea view
Review 57:Staff extremely kind, accommodating, were given new room when we could not close the window, very close to shopping area and restaurants
Review 58:They didn't answer their phone for more than an hour as there was one of the group lost and trying to call them, And they share your private information like if you were an animal staying in the hotel, And an employee tells you that you can check out at 5 and another one tells you you should pay for another night as you stay in the night, Very poor hotel management.
Review 59:The only thing that comes to my mind is that it isn't so easy to find. Even the taxi driver had to ask a couple of others until he could find it.
Review 60:The Staff is super friendly. Khaled and Fuad are very polite and helpful. They helped us organize a trip to Wadi Rum with one of their partners. Our flight arrived early in the morning and it was no Problem to check-In earlier than usual. The Room we had was quite big and WIFI was no Problem at all. Would totally recommend it to others.
Review 61:It was very convenient to the market, mosque and beach area BUT the street itself where the hotel is is rather dodgy.
Review 62:Once inside the hotel, the amenities, view, staff etc were all fine. We were only there one night but we enjoyed our stay. Would have ben nice if there had been a continental breakfast or something along those lines though.
Review 63:- Apparently, municipality recently renamed the streets' names. Street / hotel not easy to find when you ask arounf you...
Review 64:- Spacious room - Clean - Next to main tourist area / restaurants
Review 65:Slight problem with TV , only seemed to work when balcony door was shut + air conditioning on.
Review 66:Excellent staff. Very welcoming and helpfull. Good location. Sea view from the balcony. Reduced price tickets for Berenich beach club.
Review 67:Wifi is not free - it´s 3 JOD per day.
Review 68:The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Room was spotless-clean and comfortable. Good shower. Very comfy bed. Parking on the street in front of the hotel - no problems finding a parking place. Good recommendations for restaurants etc from the staff. Fridge and safety box in the room.
Review 69:The hotel is opposite an empty space/construction yard where workstart pretty early and the picture of the amazing sunset by the beach isa bit misleading because the hotel is nowhere near the beach. Otherwiseit was a great place to stay.
Review 70:Clean room with good facilities. The hotel was in a decent location, close to centre of town and very reasonably priced.
Review 71:At a first glance the street outside the hotel is a bit scary but it is only the first impression, the hotel is actually well located near some shops, good restaurants, and beach
Review 72:good hotel
Review 73:If you are a foreigner, it is not very easy to find this hotel, as it is not on the main road. It takes us many time to find it
Review 74:the room is very clean, and there is almost no noisy from air condition, and it is very close to the beach. you can also easily find good restaurant nearby.
Review 75:Nothing!
Review 76:The front desk staff, Fuad, was super helpful. Great location, as you are 5 mins away from corniche, restaurants, and mini markets. Spacious and clean room with fridge. Comfy bed. Didn't have breakfast option, but you are close to markets/retaurants
Review 77:the room and the toilet were very small. There was no proper window as the window looked at a cement wall. The location is very squalid. I would prefer to pay something more and stay in a more pleasant place.
Review 78:the price is low. The room was clean.
Review 79:The location looks a little unsettling, especially when first arriving late in the evening. The shops near the hotel are mostly light industrial like air conditioning repair, TV repair and similar shops. The lot across the street is barren. That said, I always felt safe walking day or night. It was only a short walk to nice cafes, restaurants, shops and banks.
Review 80:The rooms are clean, modern and updated. The king size bed was excellent. The staff was very efficient, helpful and friendly. My room had a nice balcony with a view of the Red Sea. There was a convenient mini fridge in the room. I would stay in this hotel again.
Review 81:There were a couple of small ants walking in the bathroom and just outside our room but apart from that the place looked clean.
Review 82:Room: comfortable and modern. Great value for money. Staff helpful. They have half price vouchers for the Berenice Beach Resort in Aqaba.
Review 83:Everything was fantastic. Excellent serviсe, friendly staff. The hotel is very convenient for everything. It looks very nice and you can really have rest here. Private beach isn't so far from the hotel.
