Reviews for Quintocanto Hotel & Spa
Review 1:The room appeared smaller compared to the images online. The bathroom along with the shower was tiny.
Review 2:The room was equipped with an air-conditioning unit and a Television. The location is good, has decent restaurants nearby. The hotel is located at a walk-able distance from main bus/train terminus.
Review 3:Some electric problems meant that all the lights in the room turned on during the night.
Review 4:Central location, relatively quiet and spacious room, breakfast, nice staff
Review 5:To check-in and a wrong booked family room was appointed to us: me, my wife, my daughter in law and my grand son! There is a family room for and adult and two children...
Review 6:The hotel and SPA facilities
Review 7:No breakfast included for a ridiculously high room rate . No ambiance or room in the lobby to meet visitors . Room included full kitchen but not a single cup spoon or plate until asked for No concierge and no map of Sicily at the front desk !!!
Review 8:Location. Nothing beats it. clean , modern design
Review 9:No toilet paper, no soap and shower was terrible in the family suite. Shower would only work for a few seconds then stop for a few seconds - very frustrating!!
Review 10:Location great. Staff lovely. Room spacious and good value.
Review 11:Room was a little small, but fine for an overnight stay.
Review 12:Location in the very centre of Palermo. Very pleasant and helpful staff who gave us excellent advice on where to eat and what to see.. The hotel is in a lovely group of old buildings around a central courtyard.
Review 13:smelt slightly of sewage/loos leading up to our room (room 101) no english channels but lots of italian ones
Review 14:stayed 6 days in palermo - excellent location. more of a boutique hotel - had to ask for a kettle in the room but wasnt charged to room service. staff very helpful and friendly. small but very clean and suitable for wheelchair access. spa not very popular form what we saw but lovely pool - was a bit expensive
Review 15:Little poor/uniform breakfast and reserved personnel in restaurant.
Review 16:Localisation int the heart of Palermo together with inside serenity. Possibility to cheap use of relaxing swimmingpool. Obliging staff in reception.
Review 17:Two lots of lifts to the room, one of which my son and I got stuck in - that bit needs fixing. Palermo itself has some lovely churches etc. but it's filthy and a bit scary - lot of stray dogs, rubbish and poverty. I'd visit again in 20 years if they have a visit from the dustcart and clean the streets
Review 18:Staff terrific - made us feel welcome and at home. Breakfast was really good - best on our trip. We made the mistake of booking a small double room - that doesn't mean a small room - it means a small room with basically a single bed - no good for two people at all. When we realised this on arrival, we were ready for nervous breakdown in 35 degree heat. Staff upgraded is for free because it was a genuine mistake - very grateful!
Review 19:Fantastic other than electricity citing out occasionally and wifi poor in room. Spa should have included robes and towels in price of room. But staff and facilities were excellent thank you.
Review 20:Staff, food at Gusto and facilities of spa. Bed and large family room.
Review 21:Only 1 pillow was on the bed when we arrived so we had to ask for another at reception. The temperature of the water in the shower was far from constant, sometimes becoming much too hot to bear.
Review 22:An excellent location for exploring all 4 quarters of the city. Room was clean and comfortable, very good choice at breakfast and all staff were pleasant and spoke good English.
Review 23:We loved the location of the hotel as it was in the middle of the old part of the city. The room was beautiful. We liked sitting outside to eat. And the restaurant staff were very good!
Review 24:Master bed should have been downstairs with twin beds for kids upstairs. Bed was too hard...
Review 25:Location. Family room by innter courtyard so no traffic noise.
Review 26:Access to rooms initially via poorly lit stairs or ancient small lift. Thereafter winding passageways, stairs and lift. Staff attitude patchy. Room Service and Breakfast staff friendly and helpful. Reception staff cool and remote. No explanation of facilities. Reception disorganised. Few if any communal areas to relax outside of room, so when weather was poor, pretty well confined to Bar / coffee area never staffed and little or no seating. Furnished for short stays. We stayed a week but no storage for clothes etc in the room.
Review 27:Room size (suite) good. Bed size and comfort excellent. Quiet but central location set back from the busy street. Good air conditioning. Breakfast - excellent. Room service excellent - fresh linen every day.
Review 28:family room has a little kitchen but it not equipped for actual cooking (the oven and stove work but lacks, plates utensils, cloths, washing stuff) so it is kind of waste of space
Review 29:basic spa included in the price big room close to places of interest in Palermo
Review 30:Wi-fi did not work in the room, no connection possible. The floor in the room has not been cleaned during the 4 days of our stay
Review 31:Very friendly staff in general and for breakfast
Review 32:The hotel is a little overpriced. The massages at the spa were just ok; go only if you have spare time.
Review 33:The apartment was really spacious and in a great location. Breakfast was basic, but good.
Review 34:This was our first stop in Sicily and although our room was not ready upon arrival (we got to the hotel around 9am), we had no problem storing our bags until we returned. This hotel was really nice, with a modern boutique feel.
Review 35:Difficult to reserve on the weekends because it only holds 8. Book in advance! It is open at the very end of the night, usually between 8-10 p.m.
Review 36:Great staff, location, breakfast, spa.
Review 37:Bar and catering facilities a bit limited. Odd arrangement for access to our room (across open courtyard 2 separate lifts and some stairs, 1st lift shared with another hotel)
Review 38:Nice airy room with view of adjacent cathedral. central location.
Review 39:there was a strange smell in room 107. the floor in the room is cold, but there were no slippers.
Review 40:good location. nice staff. expensive but excellent restaurant (for dinner).
Review 41:Jacuzzi didn't work the second day I went to the spa. I consoled myself with a sensual chocolate massage followed by a steam bath. Very nice.
Review 42:Steam room was fantastic. Hotel itself was very good. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. A good choice.
Review 43:the interior design of the room we had is not that good , there is no view ,
Review 44:breakfast and the helpful staff , especially the lady who works in the breakfast lobby. she is amazing .
Review 45:The Internet didn't work, and when we asked for help the clerk downstairs said "that's strange I can reset it if you want" and perhaps he did but it never worked and no one came up to help us. Their credit card payment system was down when we left and although they solved the problem by giving us a form to sign, they first asked us to pay in cash and suggested we go up the street to use a bank machine if we didn't have enough cash. In general, we felt that our presence was a mild inconvenience to the service staff.
Review 46:Excellent location, lovely and reasonably-priced room service dinner, caring though expensive laundry service, punctual car parking service.
Review 47:You need to take two small elevators to get to most of the rooms, one of which is shared with another hotel and a B&B. The alternative staircase is very dark.
Review 48:Clean, modern, comfortable rooms. Good location.
Review 49:Nothing
Review 50:Everything! Free use of spa was a pleasant bonus. Very good cheap restaurant immediately adjacent made useful variant on hotels own, expensive restaurant.
Review 51:The hotel has been recently built with a very high attention to the style and to the architectural finishing. It is set in the hearth of the historical centre and it is absolutely the best location of the city. In case of car, the advice is to book the parking in advance. The hotel is also clean and the staff very kind and professional.
Review 52:The breakfast that was included was not of high quality as flies already were visible on bread and also the same cake was served for 4 days in a row. The rooms were OK, but not 4 star quality. Many small reparations would be needed (shower, carpets etc.). The personnel was partly friendly (some not at all), but also here I expect more of a 4 star hotel.
Review 53:The location is central and some very nice restaurant, especially the family owned one in the narrow street left to the hotel (Primi ...) is recommendable.
Review 54:The staff always seemed quite bored and not very helpful. We always had to go through the yard to another part of the building, go up some stairs to get to our room.
Review 55:The hotel is located in the center of Palermo, close to the cathedral. It's easy to walk to it from Central Station. Breakfast was very good, the room was soundproof and it was clean.
Review 56:Would have liked a lounge area to be able to meet other travellers and socialise.
Review 57:The location was excellent and staff were very helpful. Great City Centre hotel.
Review 58:Didn't like that we had to pay for the use of the pool. Shower in our room leaked, which we unfortunately neglected the mention to the staff. Except at check out, staff were not particularly helpful, but we acknowledge that it was a busy time.
Review 59:Beautiful courtyard and breakfast area. Breakfasts were great. Location was wonderful, especially since we happened to be there during the Festival of St. Rosalia, and the parade route was right in front of the hotel. It was also a superb location from which to tour the sights of the city.
Review 60:Not enough of information in the English language.
Review 61:The standard of cleanliness was first class. The breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. Had dinner on last night of stay, while somewhat expensive was extremely good.
Review 62:WIFI could be better
Review 63:The best restaurant in Palermo with great breakfast and dinner, great great service, very good wellness. Location perfect
Review 64:Great staff! Among the best I have met! Very helpful and considerate. And the breakfast is very good, lots of choice and delicious!
Review 65:the spa, the LOCATION in town and the Restaurant, even breakfast was good.
Review 66:great Location, lovely staff. family suite is HUGE
Review 67:excellent location wonderfully attentive service
Review 68:great location, efficient, friendly and helpful staff
Review 69:Some evenings a bit noisy but that's the trade off.
Review 70:Location is central, waking distance to much you want to see and to good restaurants.
Review 71:Central location, spa facilities, great restaurant to dine in and close to other amazing restaurants. Walking in history. Warm friendly people.
Review 72:well run hotel in good location. very comfortable and staff most helpful. relaxing having breakfast downstairs in open area.
Review 73:No safety deposit box had very bad feeling with 90% of staff
Review 74:Nothing but trouble nothing would work
Review 75:comfort, location. Excellent restaurant in hotel. Superb breakfast.
Review 76:Parking in Palermo is crazy, but hotel staff will do this for you :)
Review 77:Ideal location for sightseeing .home cooked cuisine
Review 78:Location good staff terrific especially Fiorella in restaurant
Review 79:Fantastic location in centre of Palermo,
Review 80:The kindness and hospitality of the staff, the good advise from them
Review 81:A few plated and some cutlery in the kitchen would be good.
Review 82:Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and the location was perfect.
Review 83:Breakfast a bit sparse.
Review 84:Friendly staff, comfortable cool rooms
Review 85:spa (free access for guests), very central , quiet (no room giving onto the street) valet parking
Review 86:The building is very old with an interesting history but updated beautifully with a nice courtyard and dining room. Staff is pleasant.
Review 87:Staff Cleanliness Bad wifi connection
Review 88:Location. Bed. SkyTV
Review 89:Bed a bit to narrow for two
Review 90:Friendly and helpful staff
Review 91:CORTESIA DEL PERSONALE
Review 92:Closet in room collapsed and had to be fixed.
Review 93:The food in the restauant, including an excellent dinner.
Review 94:Great location; spacious bathroom; comfortable room and nice staff
Review 95:chaos of the localisation, noisy street
Review 96:Very clean room
Review 97:Centrally located, close to all tourist attractions. Nice room and bathroom, friendly staff, good breakfast, enabled parking for an extra fee
Review 98:Noisy!! Nonchalant reaction to the noise issue by the staff. Security lacking.
Review 99:Location, Size of room and beds
Review 100:Shower was so small
Review 101:Perfect spot for touring Palermo
Review 102:Nothing, everything was good!
Review 103:The hotel is beautiful ! Very modern, excellent service!
Review 104:Staff that made you feel welcome
Review 105:Very helpful staff in relation to my lost luggage and sick child.
Review 106:Crew unfreindly
Review 107:Massage
Review 108:Poor response to request for room service
Review 109:Spa, breakfast, location
Review 110:The situation and the charm of the hotel
Review 111:Great location great character and friendly staff I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again
Review 112:Price for the junior suite is quite high, compared what you get. Mini bar is nearly empty, not filled after usage. Same for setting tea. In the bath room is only plastic. Breakfast buffet very very basic. Poor selection of food. Swimming pool is available for 25 euro/hour, even for guests !
Review 113:Central location in the city.
Review 114:The first room we were given was smaller than small -bed unacceptable for two.
Review 115:Staff went out of their way to arrange for our very late arrival off the Genoa ferry when garage is normally locked at 10pm. We were given a very nice room our second night for no extra charge. Situation was very central and we didn't need to use the car in the city.
Review 116:Access to rooms through tiny elevator, stairway should better lit so guests can comfortably utilise for access to their rooms. Room decor a little cold , needs a warmer touch !
Review 117:Staff very pleasant , location fine. Nice breakfast. Sorry we had only an overnight stay.
Review 118:Nothing, specifically. Room and bathroom were clean and functional. Perhaps had been expecting a little more, but for a two night stay, it was fine.
Review 119:Very helpful staff. Good, central location.
Review 120:Noisy air conditioning in room.
Review 121:Good location for access to shops, restos, bus and train station. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Good size room (classic double), comfortable bed.
Review 122:Rooms are pretty small and and looks much better in the internet than in real. Rooms in mini deco style, mainly white and grey, which look cold. Rooms need refreshment. (broken moskito net in the window) To get to the room you have to use 2 different elevators and walk along the hall with dirty carpet. Dirty and old carpet on the hall looks awfull and give the impresion that you are in budget place not 4 star hotel. Valet parking is unreliable - because of some problem with the parking gate I had to wait for the car almost 2 hours which had ruined my plan of the day. No view from the window - view on the courtyard with all its' smellings and noices. Breakfast choise shoud be much better in 4 star hotel.
Review 123:Excellent location - walking distance to main atraction in Palermo old city. Good WiFi. Free 1 hour entrance to the spa wellness is a big benefit especially after the whole day of sighseeing. Valet parking (15 Eur/ day) - is a good solution as it is almost impossible to find the parking place within hundreds meters from the hotel.
Review 124:Ugly, dirty hotel in ugly location with homeless sleeping on the front of the hotel. Beware of the restaurant in the hotel - the worst service in all Sicily!
The Fine Print
