Reviews for Scicli Albergo Diffuso
Review 1:If you are light-sleepers, you might try to get a room a bit outside of the city centre. It was a bit noisy at night over the week-end.
Review 2:Nice little room with stone walls right in the middle of the old part of the city. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Very fair quality-price ratio.
Review 3:The streets are narrow and all nearly one way so finding the reception, even with GPS was trying. The registration office street, Via Francisco Morming Penna was more like a Piazza than a street and just had F.M.Penna on the street sign.
Review 4:All was great including the option to pay 5 euros for breakfast. The recommendations with given map of what to see, do and eat were excellent. This town is special with very friendly and helpful locals.
Review 5:Trying to locate it! Scicli is a very unique town, and sat-navs don't work (what we advised when we found the main reception). Perhaps suggesting guests park up walking to the street where the main reception is, advise that the reception is in the Millenium bar, would help a lot!
Review 6:The room was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and everyone we were in contact with were so helpful and kind
Review 7:Scicli's Albergo Diffuso consists of a variety of local properties which are managed by Vincenzo and his partners. It's an interesting model: better than a French gite, where you generally have to make the place sparkling clean before leaving or pay 40-60 Euros to have it done for you. Also, the bed linen and towels are provided, as in a hotel room, and you can request fresh ones when you want them. And the electricity you use is included in the price. We stayed in 'Cauzza' on the upper floor of a refurbished building. It has a separate entrance and consists of a large L-shaped studio room supplemented by a bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and a patio with a table and chairs. The photos on the website don't do justice to 'Cauzza': this is a beautifully finished flat with a comfortable bed and sofa and limited edition prints on the walls. You can park outside 'Cauzza', which is only five minutes' walk from Via F Mormino Penna - where you check in, where you can have breakfast at the Millennium Café, use the free Wi-Fi, and go back for drinks, snacks and meals until late in the evening ... and if you're a Montalbano fan, you'll find yourself sitting bang opposite the building where his office was supposed to be located. For 5 Euros the Millennium Café provided a very generous gluten-free breakfast on the morning we used it - a variety of cold meats and cheeses. We weren't impressed by the Millenium Cafe's non-gluten-free breakfast: there wasn't much on offer apart from some bread and cakes. We were offered what sounded like coffee and juice, but the juice never came. However, this is a separate business to the Albergo Diffuso and need not impact on your stay.
Review 8:We stayed in Camera dei Limoni Dolci. The accomodations are spread throught the city. Our room was huge, spotless, new and with its own ensuite arab-style lemon-tree garden with fountain. A magical place! The house itself it spotless, an old structure renovated with care, style and means. All three staff we met, Valentina, Vincenzo and (?), were wonderful, knowledgeable and kind. Breakfast for 5 EUR extra/pp is worth it. Scicli is fantastic and the closest (and nice) beach, Sampieri, is 15 min by car. They offer off-the-beaten path walks which are great. We will decidedly return to this wonderful city, accomodation and people!
Review 9:Our stay at Scicli Albergo Diffuso was excellent. The town of Scicli in itself is beautiful and full of nice restaurants and local shops. It is an excellent base for day trips to the beach, Ragusa, Noto or even Syracuse. The hotel has different locations in the old central town (so I can of course rate only the place where we were staying). Our rooms were in a 19th century palazzo that had just been renovated. The place was absolutely beautiful, probably the most impressive place I've ever stayed at. I strongly recommend! All facilities were of good quality, including the shower and air con. Customer service was also great, we were offered plenty of tips regarding restaurants, beaches etc. Breakfast is not included, but can be bought for 5 euros per persons per day. Fruit, croissants, meat, cheese and sweet pastries were served (plus coffee, tea and juice).
Review 10:That we couldn't stay longer!
Review 11:Everything! Breakfast was amazing. Beautiful room with fantastic view. Super helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Easy parking.
Review 12:A noise in the garden from a pump woke us up on the first night. But the excellent staff resolved the issue quickly.
Review 13:This was the best accommodation that we experienced in Italy. The facilities were excellent and the outlook beautiful. I would highly recommend. Staff were excellent.
Review 14:No drying rack (but we hung our washing in the garden trees!)
Review 15:We stayed in the Camera dei Limoni Dolci for a few nights. This unit has a private garden in which we had our evening drinks in peace and quiet. It was marvellous. Breakfast was a couple of blocks away and was excellent (although there were shared cooking facilities at the apartment). Superbly clean, totally quiet (it is a rear unit) and excellently presented. Scicli is a great little town with good access to excellent beaches. We recommend both the town and the great accommodation.
Review 16:We struggled to get wifi in our accommodation, but staff at the Albergo Diffuso reception went to great lengths to make it available to us at the cafe where we had breakfast.
Review 17:Scicli is a beautiful place. The buildings are of a very colourful yellow limestone and in the warm sun pavements glisten. The streets are spotless and the local people extremely friendly.
Review 18:Wonderful town, excellent cafes and restaurants. Good and generous breakfast in a stunning location in the main square.
Review 19:Nothing negative at all
Review 20:Location, building and staff
Review 21:Valentina is very kind and warming. The room had a wonderful garden, in the center of Scicli. Everything was made with care.
Review 22:Location and comfort excellent in a lovely town
Review 23:Nothing. We enjoyed the whole experience.
Review 24:Vincenzo,Ezio andValentina were really friendly and helpful. The Giardino dei Limonite Dolci was lovely and exceptionally good value as the room we stayed in had a lovely shady garden to sit in. The breakfasts were excellent especially the Sicilian cakes. Scicli is a fantastic Baroque town with lots of amazing buildings as well as the Town Hall which is the location for Commisario Montalbano's police station. We had a great time at the Albergo Diffuso and really didn't want to leave. Highly recommended and excellent value for money. Steve and Gill Bristol
Review 25:Nothing. We didnt want to leave!
Review 26:Vincenzo and Ezio were always friendly and happy to help us with questions and any small problems that we had. Vincenzo greeted us when we arrived and explained in detail all that we needed to know about the town and the area. The complementary bowl of fruit and glass of prosecco was a generous touch. The apartment was most comfortable and well appointed. It is very attractive and beautifully restored. The location is excellent for buses, shopping, sightseeing and socialising. We can recommend the breakfasts which were really delicious and good value. The staff at the Milenium cafe were all most courteous, efficient and friendly. Staying at Casa Barone was a most enjoyable and delightful experience. From David and Barbara S
Review 27:We we're put in a room which had no view but a garden at the side, the only problem was you could not really sit in it.We were in the house with no other guests and we were not offered an alternative room even though we would have paid a bit extra.
Review 28:Sciclialbergodiffuso was excellent.Owners really lovely people.
Review 29:nothing to dislike
Review 30:position of room in the town, modern room, superbly provisioned shared kitchen, eating area/lounge and internal patio, balcony overlooked a busy traditional street (no noise problems)
Review 31:Nothing!
Review 32:Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room (in il giardino dei limoni dolci) and a really lovely place (Scicli).
