Reviews for Tra le Mura

Review 1:One cannot improve on perfection. ;^) This is exactly what I seek in a European B&B.

Review 2:This is a truly lovely B&B! A modern and very tasteful renovation of an older building, spotlessly clean, pleasant. Matteo is a wonderful and thoughtful host, and his staff are great. The location in Poligano a Mare is excellent: centrally located, within a ten minute walk of the train station, close to the waterfront, lots of nice restaurants and bars, and yet nonetheless quiet enough at night. Breakfast includes fresh fruit and home-baked linzer Torte and bakery breads. Price/performance is truly outstanding.

Review 3:The restaurant next door is a very lively place and didn't quiet down until about midnight most evenings. Not a problem if you're a night owl though! However, there was no car traffic directly in front of the building so it was probably quieter than many other places in town!

Review 4:Matteo is a very charming, helpful host, and Saveria (who prepares breakfast and takes care of the rooms) is just lovely! The location is ideal, convenient to everything in town. Breakfast was simple but ample.

Review 5:This is a wonderful place to stay. Immaculate rooms, big beds, modern bathroom. And breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the old town is delightful. Charming hosts too.

Review 6:Our room was right outside of reception - most of the time not a problem, but we did have a little noise early in the morning. Not enough to change our happiness.

Review 7:Location was amazingly central. Matteo went above and beyond in making us feel at home. Our room had a fabulous balcony which made the evenings a pleasure to enjoy outside with a bottle of wine

Review 8:a bit difficult to locate the house due to lacking street name tables, tiny shower not practical, noises from the nearest bar sometimes late night

Review 9:local pugliese style food for breakfast on the rooftop with seaview, interior of the entire house very good taste, located in the heart of the old town, special thanks to Matteo for the kindness and helpful service.

Review 10:Wifi connection was sometimes not very good. A bar nearby and may be a little bit noisy but it was not a problem for me so far.

Review 11:Very Centrally located in the old town. Very clean. Love the terrace for breakfast on sunny days. Facilities are basic but you have all you need. Matteo is very helpful and nice. The madam who makes coffee for us is very kind. She always wears a smile on her face.

Review 12:Matteo is a fantastic host. He was extremely helpful and assisted us with transport, organising trips, and even doctors. Tra Le Mura is situated in the middle of the old town. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The room is very comfortable and spacious and very clean. We were facing the street, but once you close the shutters, there is no noise. The breakfasts on the rooftop is a lovely little touch.

Review 13:Matteo is a very kind and helpful person, he cares about all his guests and does everything to make them feel like at home. The breakfast is delicious and the view is very nice. The rooms are soundproof so we could sleep even despite the famous Italian nightlife and concerts at the square nearby. Perfect location, highly recommended!

Review 14:Room very small and parking very difficult but owner very helpful andwilling to go out of his way

Review 15:Very comfortable and great location and very comfortable bed

Review 16:We liked everything.

Review 17:Excellent location in old town, close to the sea, restaurants and beach. Matteo was very friendly and provided us a lot of information about the town and places that must visit. Thank you Matteo! Good Italian breakfast with quality products.

Review 18:Not quite the same view, as on the photos, but the top terrace is worth everything. In the lower room the internet - probably temporary - , but it didn't work.

Review 19:Clean, tastefully designed and well equiped rooms

Review 20:If you prefer to sleep early or are sensitive to noise, ask for a room located in the back. The ones looking to the front street tends to be a bit noisy before midnight. That said, I slept well with earplugs.

Review 21:Matteo - the manager - is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. Good coffee and breakfast on a nice terrace with a view on Polignano and the ocean. Balconies are a big plus. Very well located! A small hotel with warmth and of great value for the money.

Review 22:There was work being done in the adjacent building which was unfortunately next to our bedroom. The banging woke us very early each morning. Had we complained earlier I'm sure that the owner would have dealt with this for us.

Review 23:The rooms were small but clean with lots if storage, and the bathroom was also clean with lots of towels. Breakfast was much more extensive than we expected with pastries, sweet and savoury, fruit, cereal etc. Mattheo the owner was a great host, very friendly and helpful.

Review 24:The apartment is exactly how it looks on the pictures ! very clean and nicely made up ! Location is fantastic super central . Very good breakfast too especially the focaccia and the banana cake ;) Matteo is extremely helpful. I recommend this hotel very much !

Review 25:The town is marvelous. People gathering and just having a good time. Very laid back. The town seemed very dreamlike when we arrived in the evening after a long ferry trip from Croatia. The owner was very friendly and even offered to pick us up and waited for us in the street. It felt like visiting a friend rather than staying in a B&B. The rooms are clean and cozy. Sadly we could only stay one night but this short evening and night was one of the memorable moments in our 3 week motorcycle trip through Europe. Definitely worth it.

Review 26:Excellent location, comfortable room with balcony and nice roof-terrace for breakfast. And, the owner (Matteo) is very kind and helpful, and recommended me nice restaurant / helped me to enjoy my stay at Polignano a Mare ! This city is very charming to enjoy Italian vacation and next time I would stay longer...

Review 38:Matteo, the owner, is very kind and helpfull! Lovely breakfast at the roofterrace, the location is excellent! Room was nice and clean. Would love to return!

Review 39:The room was noisy at night since it is located right on the street. Many people and scooters passed.

Review 40:The place is so nice, the room is beautiful and very typical. Location is great, staff is friendly and breakfast is good.

Review 41:On Saturday evening people in the city stay out partying quite late. There was a bit of noise early into the morning, but that doesn't change our overall wonderful opinion of the stay and location. It wouldn't deter me from returning again soon.

Review 42:The location was incredible and the staff was very kind. We loved the roof terrace and will definitely return.

Review 43:Very well located, Matteo - the owner - is really helpful, typical Italian man. Everything can be reached in 5 minutes by walk in the old town (the train station is also just 10 mins). The apartment was convenient, resembling us on a flat/house with local interior design, it was very nice.

Review 44:As far as we are concerned their were no negatives about Tra le Mura or Polignano a Mare.

Review 45:The complete experience of holidaying at an Italian village on the Adriatic. Plenty to do, see and involve yourself with the lifestyle. At the end of the day it was nice to come home to a boutique B & B, have some wine and nibbles on the roof top balconny, dicuss the day and ready yourself for an evening of dinning and being entertained in the local Piazza, all within 250m.

Review 46:Owner very helpfull, if driving we found no problem in finding free parking close by. Plenty of eating options if you wished to go upmarket but lots of inexpensive options close by. We where there for a week and loved it. Good area to stay it is mainly an Italian holiday area, they could not do enough for you.

Review 47:The beaches were rocky rather than sandy. Monopoli nearby had sandybeaches that were beautiful, but I would rather drive to them, and stayin Polignano. Parking was tough, but Matteo helped us find a spot reallyclose by. We were able to come and go and still have parking.

Review 48:I liked that it was not too touristy. It had the feel of a real Italianvillage, not a tourist destination. The people were very friendly. Thecafe where breakfast was provided was beautiful and delicious. Theviews were gorgeous. We had some of the best pizza in Italy on thepiazza around the corner. Matteo had great recommendations about whatto do in the area and could help get reservations, including a cruisethrough the grottos.

Review 49:We, my teenage daughter and wife, loved Polignano a mare... and took the train for a day out to Ostuni (and ate at Michelin-rated establishments in both ("osteria del tempo perso in Ostuni", really good!) but would this kind of laid-back, lovely place suit everyone? ... WE loved it. ... but what do we know?

Review 50:Had I known this was a "b&b", I wld not have booked it... But it was not my idea of a b&b at all, it was a lovely, quiet 3-star hotel, with Matteo, the most enterprising and friendly guy in the world in charge of everything!

Review 51:Nothing not to like!

Review 52:Great location and first class amenities. Manager/owner very helpful including escort from piazza.
